Hi guys , can you tell me which is better option for trading Bitcoin or stocks and how

for now I prefer stocks, because only that can make money now. because bitcoin is still trading to be traded because the price is always decreasing, so right now i only use bitcoin for the long term

it is a matter of experience. you can't say which one is better than the other when it comes to trading. they both have pros and cons of their own too. for example bitcoin is more volatile while it is more profitable. but stocks are less volatile and less profitable while at the same time they have risks of dropping hard like these days.

for someone who has spend years in stocks market and traded them so he has a lot of experience: stocks

for someone who has spend a long time in bitcoin market and traded bitcoin so that he is familiar with how it works: bitcoin

for someone who has no prior trading experience and has never been in any market: neither!

It depends what you're looking for in terms of risk, trading hours, volatility, and regulated brokers/exchanges.

Stock markets close every day and don't trade over the weekend; Bitcoin trades 24/7. This is a big reason why some people prefer stocks. They can close up shop for the day and get a good night's sleep, whereas in the Bitcoin market, crazy moves can happen at any hour of the night.

Personally I think that bitcoin trading is easier as there are a lot more inexperienced traders in the market that you can profit off.

Candidly speaking, i personally prefer to trade Bitcoin to stock because i'm a day trader. My trading skills enable me to trade on daily basis were i gain 3% on every trade i place base on the market fluctuation in price. In every 24Hours the market tend to increase by 1-3% therefore by placing trade around 1-3% i made almost 200$ every blessed day with all the trade i placed; since the start of the bear market.

It would be more useful to trade stocks rather than Bitcoin since it is not so volatile in stocks and you can only trade Bitcoin nicely if it is an uptrend.

I want to start trading stocks, too. But as I understood, there need a good budget that go on market. Bitcoin is highly volatile, constantly knocks out feet, creates nerves.

If you have knowledge in Bitcoin you can start this platform and If you have knowledge in stock market you can continue the same field. But don't take risk in any platform because we must develop some skills in trading or stock then only it will make profit. My suggestion is you can try now but you can start from small scale trading.

That depends on how much knowledge you have on both or which business gets more of your interest. Trading in stocks and bitcoin are both profitable for long term. The difference between these two is that stock trading is more regulated and legitimate in any part of the world unlike bitcoin that is still being critisize but full of potentential specially in terms of being a medium of payment. If people told you to do stocks, of course because they know how to deal on it. Same scenario goes to bitcoin. Asked yourself what you really preferred and not just you will follow others. If possible, you can test both and see for yourself what's the best.

Bitcoin price is not always decreasing and some times we have even complain why bitcoin keep increasing in price and that is the beauty of trading. That is the truth and I hope op is around to read this?  Trading is a game and as such you need skills and intelligence to make money from the market.  Both bitcoin and stocks can make you rich and likewise make you poor.  If you want to makes money consistently from the financial markets? is not about what you are trading on but the knowledge and skills you have on how to interpret candlesticks pattern,  indicators and fundamentals issues about the assets you are trading be it bitcoin or stocks!  

I prefer bitcoin trading, i believe it is the best option. Although the price of bitcoin is going down you can still make some money and it is also a lot more profitable than stocks.

The example was appropriate and for that reason, I prefer the stocks market too, at least in this critical condition of the crypto market. Anything can happen anytime! Bitcoin price can go under 3K USD even under 2K USD! So if I choose the stocks market for trading then I would sleep without tension about the market dump! So, at this moment trading with stocks pair is more profitable than trading with the bitcoin!


Though I always used to stay opposite to the stocks market but now, you may go for trading with stocks market. And it is more profitable if you understand how the stocks market goes! Good Luck.

You should diversify. The crypto market may be in a bad status but perhaps it is the best time to get them from cheap price. There is a big difference between these assets according to their earnings volatility and risk. And so I find it appropriate to diversify because the stock market can stop the loss and contrarily.

Trading crypto currencies is high risk as portfolio managers rate crypto currencies while trading stocks is low risk as you are dealing with real companies that are already established and running. I pretty much feel comfortable with all types. I don’t like to limit myself to certain option alone, as I truly believe that when you do that then you are committing yourself into HUGE problem, so that’s wrong.

High risk indeed but as they say, the higher the risk, the higher the profit. And crypto definitely is more exciting for active traders than stocks. So depends on what kind of person you are when it comes to taking risks.

You don’t trade stocks here, you trade them on forex and binary. And as for which is better, they are both good, but since you’re here why not focus more on cryptocurrency. By the time you dedicate more of your time and invest rightfully you will start making the level profit you need. Stock is good too but I’m not into that.

   Forex trading is trading with currencies, trading with crypto-currencies. I will dare to say that trading with
crypto-currencies is better cause that`s the future. Prices can rise a lot more. I doubt that value of Euro or
Dollar can go higher than Ethereum, Stellar, Ripple, and many others.

of course trading is riskier than holding back the assets we have. however, it is true that it all depends on the nature of each person. sometimes there are people who like that. but I am the type of person who prefers to hold assets to a price that is good enough to sell.

It depends on your experience because of an expert trader never stock her asset.So if you are the newbie on crypto just buy bitcoin and hold any trusted wallet and try to learn to trade. You wouldn't be good trader one day so try to learn and stay this forum.

Although, the current market situation is not suitable for trading, but i think that bitcoin trading would be better option and a lot more profitable too. By trading stocks you can get low profits compared to bitcoin.

Its depend on yourself, there are numerous of strategy to choose, and both of them got a different factors that makes the price moved, but for beginner I suggest trade with stock, the price movement is not too wild, try trade with blue chip stock, crypto got a bigger risk but got a big reward, crypto price fluctuations is very high, so it can be intimidating

Though the perspective you speak from is well know fact if more research and due diligence is made into the trade. Stock has the greatest opportunity to make a better cash from trade, recently researchers came out with a fact that the trade in stock is better to that of bitcoin due to bitcoin volatility which i equally believe that research from my own experience in bitcoin trade looses.

That's correct also for those people who Hold their altcoins until now the price of altcoins get dump and bitcoin also get loss a huge price but next year I'm expecting it will grow again.

Both looks like same phenomena but completely different since the centralization plays a big part of the stock trading while the crypto trading is always unpredictable with high risk.But for me crypto trading is the option over others since I already have knowledge about it.

Trading is method, bitcoin and stocks is product, how is knowledge and practice. Simple explanation never take any product if you don't have knowledge or never practice with it. Crypto does offer several advantages and disadvantages. For people who dare to take risks, crypto will be far more profitable. Its not a bad thing to make small profits. You are still learning and even then making a small profit is an achievement. After all I dont expect people to make 1.5x profits in this bear market. Selling at loss though is not something I would advice. If you bought at even lower price then its not bad but overall I believe there is possibility of bitcoin going even more in uptrend if you look at 5-10 years ahead from now.

Stocks on the other hand and not exhaustive of crypto investments. Putting in fiat and crypto to use does keep your total portfolio diversified.

On times like this, small profits is better than small losses. 1% to 2% gain per day is not bad at all. Accumulated in 1 month, that's over 30% of you are consistent in gaining 1% or even higher. No investment can offer such returns in a month. However as I mentioned, at this trying times in trading, gaining at least 1% a day is hard, you really need to focus and sell right away when you see that you already reached your goal.

for now for the next 5 years, trading in both is still pretty good, the world economy is in a very supportive condition, it's just that crypto is still too opaque, it's still unclear whether crypto can survive in the coming years. But as of now, crypto is still worth it

I'm not about this but for me I think Bitcoin is better than stocks? I'm not sure if there's a minimum investment on stocks but in cryptocurrency there's no minimum investment in order to start an investment also stocks takes month in order to know if the investment you've made earned or not and in the cryptocurrency market or bitcoin market the price of the cryptocurrencies are volatile and it only takes some time to earn or to lose your investment.

In other words the price of the Bitcoin changed quickly.

There is nothing like better option, the only difference here is that one is an old traditional market and one is a very new market and the level of volatility is higher with bitcoin than it stocks, which also depends on the stock you are trading anyway. However, whether you are trading bitcoin or stocks, it all depends on your level of knowledge of any of the market and how well you are able to handle yourself in any of them. If you approach any of them like gamble, then you will most definitely experience the same fate anyway.

Firstly, the fact that it is a cryptocurrency forum does not necessarily mean you are only restricted to discussion on cryptocurrency. Moreover, what the OP asked is something involved with cryptocurrency trading anyway and all he is seeking for is opinion which is actually the usefulness of this forum in case you do not know. Secondly, he asked about stocks and not forex as they are totally two different things here.
What I just have for him basically is that, trading any market requires great deal of knowledge to be able to have a good plan and develop a good strategy with the plan. Simply put, if you have none of those, you will most definitely hit the same block road eventually in any market you find yourself as an individual.

in my opinion investing in bitcoin and both shares are equally good, but if you want big and fast profits you can invest in bitcoin, but remember we need to have good experience and analysis.

Of course Bitcoin. I and my friend had a lengthy discussion over this topic and we still are not on the same page. In addition, better stay involved with Bitcoin because sooner or latter, the market is going to get shifted to the crypto thing and will not remain relying on fiat.

It is over exaggeration to say that world economy is supportive. It depends on Political influence and the Trump economy of USA is not helping it in any supportive way at all. There needs to be that support first before stocks shoot up again and crypto will remain a cult followership for now. I would not say that crypto is worth everything but its definitely worth something and people find a value in it due its properties.

I need to repeat this again and again, the concept of highly volatile is event-dependent because the level of panic in the market of crypto is much more than the stock or commodities market. People here are mostly ignorant fools trying to get rich with a few altcoins and some bitcoin. A single FUD news is enough to break their nerves and start panic selling wave. I think the risk will be bigger stocks comparing with bitcoin because once we got lost from stock, we are difficult to recover the loss. But if we get lost from bitcoin, we might have a chance to recover our loss. Bitcoin for short/ medium term period but stocks for long term, which one is more profitable I think stocks is better. Stocks already have legal law and many facilities better than bitcoin, besides that is more popular than bitcoin. If you want lesser risk , stock trading may the great option but of course, trading still consider as risky activity.

Can't agree, none of them knows what they are talking about. Usually people throw suggests like it's very simple. One says bitcoin and acts like it has zero risk and others jusy say stock market because they have heared this word.
OP since you ask this question, it means you don't have knowledge. At first learn what is stock market, what happend around bitcoin, then decide which one you can to manage well. In bitcoin trading you need luck too.

I think both should have more expertise on it.But if you want to focus more on gaining huge profits in the future,then start trading in bitcoin.But seeing the market is not really in good condition,so you just have to wait for the right timing to trade.Trading with stocks might not be volatile but the profit is not that big too.The more risks,the bigger the profits and i only know it would be possible with trading bitcoin.

stock trading more complicated in my opinion, besides of technical analisys , macro economic analisys we have to understand about company background and financial health.without of this understand for us to identify which is best stocks to buy in market that will give us profits.

Your question is not easy to answer for all even everyone will answer the differently like someone will say Stocks who like to trade and got some handsome profit from that. In the same way for Bitcoin.

when you have a coin stock, you will have the choice to trade. in fact, some people make coins to sell when prices are high. well, but some people use it to use. I might have more trading than stock.

Every human is different and thus everyone has their own choices of what they feel is profitable. Being in a cryptocurrency sphere I expect more people to come from the traditional markets to spread their knowledge as well. The one problem that people face in crypto over stocks is the regulation which does not happen. Huge pumps and dumps a reason why this market makes traditional investors frown upon and they being aware of legal problems tend to stay away from it.

Stocks are regulated and the SEC or a similar regulatory body will come after you if found to be laundering large amounts of money.

If you will trade with bitcoins, just do it with the bitcoin, ethereum, and ripple pairs, do not try to trade with other altcoins because you might lose a lot of money because of the low volume.

Frankly speaking, it’s all to do with your comfort, so IF you feel comfortable with stocks then that’s BETTER and vice-versa. I personally like trading on everything from Forex to Cryptos and stocks.

No dont say that . that this your own strategy and that its not bad because you are sure about it . what is bad is that you dont have a creative mind and you are always depending on what others have  .

Bitcoin is different from stocks so trading on which to choose is up to the player which he will prefer to trade. I still prefer bitcoin since this is my kind of trading while stocks, for me, is for investment only or for long term. 

I prefer bitcoin trading which is more challenging because the market is more volatile, also markets that never close make the chances of winning more. But sometime market pressure drive me crazy.

If you have knowledge about how to trade then both the options are good, if you want to learn then you can join some altcoin bounty and earn free coins and then trade them in exchange where it get listed and this way you can learn trading and then after knowing how to trade, invest and trade.

I prefer Bitcoin and other top altcoin trading as they give daily 1 to 5% of up down, in stocks you have to know same trading plan then it will be profitable.

No option is superior to the other one, what you need to try to figure out is in which one of those two different investment options you will be more successful, bitcoin is very volatile and while the profits that you can get in a short amount of time surpass anything you can get in almost every other market the amount of money that you can lose in that amount of time is also immense, if you are not ready for that it is better for you to choose stocks.

I trade cryptocurrency, but my friend has suggested to me that I can also do both of them. I don’t really make much profit from stocks, judging from my last experience. But I might consider getting a broker to do the work for me, at the end he/she will take their own percentage from the profit they were able to make. Don’t know how that will work though, but let me keep watching.

Yes both of them have good potential to give away the benefits but I think I would go for Bitcoin because of the fact that it is very liquid as compared to stock which experience a downward turn when there is a financial crisis.

When you will be having all the time and efforts, you may go for doing both as per your friend suggestion but I like to suggest you to focus on crypto trading as it will be much profitable compared to any other trading.

Moreover, you need not to have active trading with cryptocurrencies whereas it is must for other type of trading. You can simply choose few cryptocurrencies and then you can hold them for years so that you will be getting big profits out of it. I understand you are referring the holding by "stock". But, it is proven that by holding only you will be able to minimize the risks rather than trading any coin. You may choose trading for day to day benefits whereas holding will require lots of patience and also you may find the benefits only after some long period of waiting. But, by holding only you will be minimizing all the risks of fluctuations whereas in trading you need to be more skilled to tackle those fluctuations.

I also have experienced that many times with many coins. I'm also not sure people are making more money by trading same coins for a given time frame. Because, fluctuations will wipe out your 10 days of profits in just a single day whereas holding will be securing your profits for all those 11 days. Especially, holding does not require any special skill also you do not need to take any big decisions in market hours. You can be relaxed all the times and it you can focus your attention to some other things where you will be finding another income generation opportunities.

for trading I go for bitcoin because bitcoin so volatile you can earn profit everyday if you a good trader, I don't know about the stocks.

Stock is also good for trading. But it is so risky. Most of the people do bitcoin trading. So it is your choise what you do. But It is my opinion that you shoud choose bitcoin trading.

It's definitely gotta be Cryoto trading. Stocks trading is not noobs friendly as there's big forces at play there. On the other hand, Crypto is very much beginner friendly. Anyone can get started pretty quickly with trading cryptos. I'm yet to trade stocks though but It's something I'm looking forward to getting involved in 2019. Until then, Crypto is the way to go.

Bitcoin trading has it's own advantage and disadvantages. For liquidity this financial tool can be filled easily thanks to large liquidity providers which contains thousands of market,limit orders. Volatility is still big issue for new traders who haven't got enough experience in other financial assets.

Both are good but it will depend on how you trade. Trading is any market is not easy, in stocks you can trade with the companies, and in cryptocurrency you are dealing with a great technologies that we have today. Both are risky, and can make you loss your money so better to start studying how to trade well.

I will prefer trading bitcoin because bitcoin have a great future and it is good for long term investments than stocks eventhough bitcoin price is not stablize bitcoin will still good at all.

Both of them are the money making resources  some people are trading because they have skills and some are trying to hold it depends on the market situation so for me we should purchase some more coin and invest this time later on after increasing your skills with trading you can trade but at right time only.

Both has pros and cons but i mainly trade coins due to avoid paying high fees,comission to stock broker.  Skills are important part but proper money management with smart steps can replace it imo. Platforms are different,pairs are combined,money management is various on both industry.

A person who has a background of the stock market trading would may or may not like the way cryptos are traded. While stocks run for a few hours everyday cryptocurrencies run for 24x7 and its more difficult to keep track of. People who are going to margin trade on platforms like bitmex have to keep countermeasures in case there are heavy swings in price while they are asleep.

You cannot actually get the proper answer for this question as both cryptos (bitcoin) and the stock is a different thing altogether. It's our own decision and it also depend on the capital we can afford to invest.  Traders will look for potential gaining investment, and we can find it in here(crypto) but the big question is if they can afford to loss.

For me I will choose trading in bitcoin because Im comfortable. And even my money is little they still have a chance to increase very high or earn more profit. Because in stocks you need to wait more years or decades before you earn more money too. There are stocks that are pretty risky to trade in. There are stocks that are being day traded and heavily manipulated but have no company backing them which is obviously a type of fraud and the reason why SEC and its equivalent in other countries have to step in. The risk is always there in every speculative market out there and the person who is putting in their money need to decide what is good for them. Sometimes diversifying is also a good choice.

I think we can do both at the same times,  because stocks market  is only open 7 hours aday and for crypto 24 /7. We can make 2 each different  potition and dont forget always using stop loss.  By doing both we will know the trend of different  market so we can decide when should be enter or exit from that.

For now bitcoin is got for holding because right now you can start buying them at low price then sell them at high price if there's any chance to increase the price of bitcoin again.

I think bitcoins are the best option to trade for rathan than stocks. They both are completely opposite as one is completely decentralised while another one is fully centralised. That makes them different but somehow the concept is same.

Can you explain how that will help? You are basically trading on two different assets viz. two different market altogether and they are not related to one another. Lol STOs are not going to be any more of a cashgrab that ICOs were. The owners of these projects know that the ICO market is not profitable anymore so they are not using the Security token system to make themselves look legit which in reality is smoke and mirrors. That seems I am not the only one who is ready to choose bitcoin for trading, it is really beneficial and it gives more profit than stock trading that’s why so many people like to choose only bitcoin, the  can be access anytime and anywhere, as for this you can use anytime without going out for bank or ATM service so it is so easy and reliable.

yes, many people do both. however, for now I think more about how to stock more. however, some of my friends always do both when the price of crytpo is down. well, i just hope the price will go up.

Your choice will vary depending on your experience and the level of risk you want to take. In the stock market, there will be experts who advise you and you need to pay him. It costs a lot and you need a lot of money to get a lot of profit and the risk is the same as investing in crypto.

I am also going to invest my money to trade with bitcoin because it is best selection ever, as investing in bitcoin has no risk but profit will be so high that it makes money rise safely but buying so much stoke can lose your money at the same time you will be worry about marketing value but in crypto currency you will feel really safe easy to trade for long term as price keep on moving so you will get more opportunities.

Bitcoin look better because in the long term the price will going up,  although we are getting loss now but the price has more potential to raise again,  but in stocks market there are alot of asset that dumped without any possibility to raise again.

Well the finance guys prefer to get involved in stock for they think it is better than investing in Bitcoin which has gotten some risk involved in it. Whereas stocks are not that risky. You invest, and get the profit in case the price of the stock goes up. Those with tech and economic background prefer Bitcoin more over stocks for them; it is more about the ideology and not the monetary benefits.

Because focusing on both will not make you a master of any of them. Though you may be able to make money from both but if you want to be a a master of one and have a good course in one you need to focus on one of them only. Truely speaking bitcoin came after stocks and commodities so a traditional trader who was trading the latter can actually enter into crypto and start trading the same here. They will feel uncomfortable associated with the unregulated nature and volatility but soon they will get the hang of it.

It is quite easy to trade the crypto currencies than stocks but it is more risky than other investments so ready to face it if you want to trade it.

I trade on them both, and the both of them have advantages as well as disadvantages, and that is what investments are all about, the good and the bad side. There is no investment that guarantees only profits and no loss.

I do not agree with your opinion. It is not easy to trade cryptos compared to stock market trading. Investing is a different theme and if we talk about crypto trading so, we need to consider simple facts about this industry. Stock trading doesn't move on a daily basis and its movement is like a turtle. Crypto trading is best to market in terms of volatility and catching every trade is not easy.

That depends on your goals and preferences but don't think that any of these two options is easier or less risky. Both can bring you profit but the loss too. The advantage of trading cryptocurrencies is that you can do that without broker and the market could be more dinamic than stock exchange and maybe give you some more favourable options. Also you could start cryptocurrency trading with very small amount of funds which is often not possible when it comes to stocks.

If we are only doing spot trading, we should be trade on both market because in bearish trend of crypto mostly all crypto will going down and in that times we should be out from the market and trading on stocks market. Crypto different with stocks market which each stocks has different trend at the same times. Because in spot trading we can only make profit from bullish trend so we should be only jump in to asset that has potential up trend.

In a trade you want to get more success your investment price need to change more often and that is what we have on the crypto investments so we can make 5% daily profits on crypto when we can do it propery but on stocks it takes years so pnly I said it is easy to make profits by trading cryptos.

Both options are good, it depend on which one you are comfortable with. However IMO, I think it is good to diversify your investment among a few types of financial instruments.

Crypto investment is really riskier than of any other form of investment but we can't deny that it is more profitable than of the others that is why many were looking towards crypto.
But for me, I will not just risk of everything I have in crypto alone but to spread them in local stock market. This is only way that I may have some back-ups when crypto never give favor on me.

Stocks and trading is both good to earn money.

I think they have same because in trading and stocks you will going to buy low and sell high the value of the coins and the stocks.
But in trading there is a lot of people earn more profit in short period of time while in the stocks there is also people earn a lot of profit but in the longterm only. They have advatanges more I think if you invest your money to the trading bitcoin.

Neither of the two. Though, Long term and short term experience. As a trader on both, If prefer stocks for a long term investment and settle for Bitcoin as short term investment. Why? Stocks has a much more stable and wide variety od choice, in which I could choose to what it suites my taste. For Bitcoin, knowing that it trade for 24/7 the volatility of the industry is what I'm concerned about so, It may not be that good for a long term investment *For me* as of the moment. But, that doesn't mean I'm considiring it.

Hence, I do trade on both simultaneously. It's just matter of perapective I guess. Plus, proper strategy or well organized plan will these both could work at the same time.

It seems to me that OP has not returned here really read the advice he is seeking on whether to trade Bitcoin or stock and they both are traded in the exchange.
I will advice that you should choose the one that you have comparative advantage in making profit this is because some people may be good in analysing stock and not good in analysing crypto currency market.

We should always diversify our investment into different sectors because we don't know which way we are going to make money. Diversification of our money should be very important inorder to protect our money be deviating to other form of investments.

I prefer trading bitcoin from stocks, because there are many things that I think trading bitcoin is better than stocks, one of which is the ease of finding information about assets that we will buy, we can look for it in coinmarketcap and there is very little information we can get it.

Bitcoin and crypto trading is high volatile and risky  compared to stocks trading. If you want high return but high risk also bitcoin is a good choice but if you want low risk and less volatile then stock market would be a good option. But the best thing you must have is the skills in trading it might help you more to earn huge profit and less chance of losing your investment.

I think if one person familiar with crypto trading than stocks trading, he will say that crypto trading will easier to do than stocks trading because he already uses crypto to trade. But it will be different for another person, and we have different experiences in trading. Its easy to trade on both market, the difference is the risk and regulations. Stocks are more centralized that is being run by a big companies while bitcoin is being controlled by whales and other institutions. Actually both are good and worthy of use, both of which can also make a profit. What differentiate in my opinion is that bitcoin has fluctuations greater than stocks. Bitcoin is a long term ideology and people dealing in Bitcoin need to give high time to make both money and influence over the market. People speculate and invest in Bitcoin because a Bitcoin could be instrumental in giving away funds stocks might never.

Well I think that people love to do the job they make money in. For many people, Bitcoin would be attractive in the sense that it can give away sudden profits. Big and huge.

Besides, it being the new for of currency could be used world wide so is more attractive in terms of liquidity. Stocks on the other hand are good for constant income flow but the rise in the values of stocks is not so fast.

I prefer to trade cryptocurrency because the fluctuacion is more high than stocks and we can trade anytimes because the market never close, and also we can earn profit from bullish and bearish trend. There are alot of futures and CFDs trading platform for crypto pair so we can make profit from down trend as well. Stocks market in only open 7 hours aday from monday to friday so we can not trade anytimes.

You can make 10x of proffts on bitcoin than stock trading. But given the situation right now, stock is your only choice. It gives small profits but it is not boring like in the btc market. You can actually do both but like I said, it is not a good time to be an active trader on bitcoin.

I think you are dreaming and talking about things without accurate proof, profit from bitcoin or stocks depends very much on investors' strategies and skills, and that means that if you say trading on bitcoin is better than stocks, that's a serious mistake. Don't judge it too quickly when you only know about trading on bitcoin, each field will have different problems and opportunities to make money, we cannot know which one is better until we feel real and have a long time for that field.

It depends only on your experience and knowledge. If you do not want to take too much risk - then your choice is stocks. Bitcoin is a very volatile currency also.

In stocks you may aim for 20% return per year and this is like most bullish trend of stocks but in crypto currencies even doubling can happen in one or two days.

You can trade bitcoin despite of lack of mastery, and on that point of stock trading I wouldn't recommend it as a good start for any new traders. Bitcoin trading can be learned through virtual experience, and you don't need to force yourselves to research too much just to gain skills on it. Holding it long term is your confirmation to obtain productive benefits.

As I am a stock market investor, I would suggest you invest in stocks rather than bitcoins. The main reason is that firstly, bitcoin is a virtual currency with no physical existence and secondly, one cannot predict the market movement when it comes to cryptocurrency. Recently, in the month of June, we came across news Bitcoin Crashes By ~24% Post Outage In The Cryptocurrency Market (You can read complete news here: https://kalkinemedia.com/2019/06/28/bitcoin-crashes-by-24-post-outage-in-the-cryptocurrency-market/)  which was a huge loss in the cryptocurrency market.  Thirdly, it is not at all supported by any of the governments globally. Once any government initiates the step for bitcoin legalization then we can think of investing in it with safe and secure results.
Whereas in stock markets you can at least study the market flow and invest accordingly depending upon the news. So it is much safer to invest in the stock market.

Trading is good for stocks but for investment, I think crypto (BITCOIN) is a good choice. 

I thing bitcoin. Because in my opinion it's too easy to learn than stocks. Both are complicated, both needs attention in details and both needs thorough study before buying a stock or a coin/token. Let us not belittle the stock market, there's a lot of people out there who gained their riches through stock market.

You don't need to hang on with your phone all the time, unless you are a day trader but still you can put a stop loss order so in case you are not around and the price went down, system will place the order for you.
