Title: Hello I'm a Beginner And I've Questions
Post by: cakir on March 09, 2014, 09:18:18 PM
Hello Everyone,
I'm currently mining with 2 pc's each have one Nvidia GT540m using cudaminer. M
y hashrate is about 20kH/s.
I'm willing to buy one usb miner that says working at "330 Mh/s" speed.
My questions are:
1- Does it really worth those ASIC usb miners?
2- Can I mine Altcoins (like Doge, IFC, TiPS..) at pools with those miners?
3- If I can mine altcoins Can you suggest me (e-bay/amazon links) for those usb miners (my top price is about 40-50 usd)?

It's only worth it if you want to do it "for fun".  You'll never make $40 worth of bitcoins with those.  And you can't use them for altcoins.  Don't listen to anyone who tells you to mine PPC with them.

well you can buy like 50 of them :) but it is pointless for true.
Better to invest into some other mining device

If you're interested in mining altcoins, you can consider mining for a multipool (like https://www.multipool.us (https://www.multipool.us)), which automatically switches to the most profitable coin to mine.  That way, you will maximize the profitability of any mining equipment you choose to use.

Also, you can use Bitcoin ASIC miners to mine for lots of different altcoins (as long as they use the same algorithm as Bitcoin, which is SHA-256).

Actually I'm doing this for fun not for living :)
I'm curious about how these miners work. If I figure it out, I can build the most efficient for myself :D

I don't have budget to buy 50 for now :)

I'm currently using my 2 pc's gt 540m gpu's to mine fedoracoin, einseinium etc for fun. I'm not sure but most of altcoins that I'm mining are using scrypt algorithms so it's not working for me...

Thanks for all informations bros! I'm glad to be here :)

If you have not budget you should consider mining - it might cost you more than you will earn.
Or if this is for an experiment ;) I understand. But for profit - need to invest few k$

Kind regards.  BTC
