Title: Suspected Merit Abuse
Post by: Fenya96 on December 16, 2018, 07:34:49 PM
This one is an interesting one, becouse Richard Heart is involved in it. He posted in his Telegram group, named Richard's Calls (https://t.me/RichardsCalls), a short message asking for merits, and then on the same day he gets 2-2 Merits from Wananavu99 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1163330) for both of his posts. It is obvious that he wants to promote his project BitcoinHEX over here too and he might need those merits to seem more reliable.

Surprised! BitcoinHEX (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2462656) just 2 activity and 4 merits. OP proof look like to me is real. He have received 4 merit those post which isn't really deserve it. However I will not call it merit abuse if there is no proof that he want to buy or begging. I will call it merit abuse because he publically asking for merit on telegram and already got 4 merit which is proof that he might be bought.

Seems merit sender Wananavu99 already tagged from began. So he has not worried about red tag. According to me receiver also should be tagged due to begging/buying merit.

It is a sure case to suspect. The posts being merited are not that spectacular to be so merited, and both cases are from the same account to the same account in quick succession.

Who said that? Merits should serve only one purpose: - Show that the member is a good quality poster/ does good stuff for the forum. A newbie with 100 merits and 2 posts is unlikely to be taken seriously by anyone. People should stop treating merit system like the trust system.

Well, we can't deny the fact that those pajeets don't care as long as they can get an amount of it even if they are not deserving in the first place. Hope a severe punishment will be implemented too on merit abusers especially on those have a strong basis of abuse.

I just made an assumption based on the facts that I know about Richard Heart and also I tried to think with his head. Also, don't forget to check out what just popped up amongst his posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091520.msg48985005#msg48985005
