When do you think we will reach new ATH?

Didn't noticed that its already a year since the all time high days. If we will compare 2015 and 2018 which means 2016 doesn't really have much action so be it by 2019, we'll experience the same?

The chart is okay but I don't think 2019 will don't create a buzz. Institutional money is about to enter the market so I think it will be the entrance of big investors by 2019 and probably the start of the bull.

This picture actually gives me a pretty hopeful and positive feeling about the future. Showing that actually nothing seriously is going on right now.

The previous all time peak before the high of 2017 was in 2013. So it took bitcoin about five years for it to reach and eclipse its previous peak, and it made a huge jump which attracted lots of attention and investments.

We would not want to take that long for Bitcoin to eclipse the current peak, but this is an unpredictable field and anything is possible.

Time flies really fast and i didn't noticed that its been a year since then.
I hope we can have a new year of cryptocurrency as we go to 2019.
I hope that it will be better than ever, 2019 will be an uptrend.

That's right! price is very unpredictable and it might take long before the next ATH, but since BTC has increased its popularity I think there's a chance that it might climb swiftly than before.

This year is the opposite of 2017, where the value of bitcoin is jumping high, although this year it is low but bitcoin still has the potential to grow. I think that in 2019 bitcoin will make a recovery and can achieve as in 2017.

Panic investors need to read and see OP pictures for them to calm down and understand that nothing is impossible in the world of cryptocurrency. This post has cursion my doubt and put me back on track to see the big task ahead of 2019 were anything bullish can be seen.

6 months from now we will see the new ATH for BITCOIN and ETHEREUM.
This will be a big leap for 2019 and the people in the cryptocurrency community will rejoice once again.
And all those negative people will knee down and cry why they dont adopt the sytem.

The CEO of Circle, Jeremy Allaire said that Bitcoin and Ethereum dropped because they were heavily oversold but despite that they have a very bright future.

One year ago we were having more than enough investors trooping in to simply get a bite out of the cake,but right now only the genuine ones who believe in the tech would remain

And that's exactly what makes the system unpredictable,as we do not know what can happen next as regards whether or when we'll be seeing an all time high anytime soon

Ahh, the good old days when I can buy a Carolina Reaper chili sauce from San Francisco with spending only a few bucks using bitcoins. I miss those times when my few bits were buying me nice things, but then again the price has to come down to a certain point where it can be sustainable again, and we all know that $19000 was a bit of extreme and literally oversold for bitcoin. I won't be expecting another ATH for the next year, but I do hope that developments and cool projects continue to rise on the cryptocurrency sphere even if the price continues to stall. There's more to bitcoin and crypto than price alone, and we already witnessed several great projects come to fruition due to their inspiration from the said tech.

The funny thing is that last year on the way up I expected nearly every round price level (e.g. $3000, $4000, $5000, etc) to be the peak at which the market would correct, but it kept going up like crazy. This year we have seen the exact opposite; every level people considered to be where the bottom would be at, it broke through almost every level effortlessly.

People right now act like 'you should have sold last year' while they fail to realize that it could have gone to $30-$50,000 just as easily. Basic market logic is that you don't short that what's going up with the momentum behind it to back it. Asia peaked at like $26,000 so it wasn't even that crazy to think about $50,000 levels. It was 'just' one doubling from there.

it is a great history and I will remember it. yes I believe bitcoin will make new ATH again, one day but it won't be fast it might take a few years or maybe if a lot of good news about bitcoin comes and makes investors back to believe bitcoin maybe that will quickly prices will go back up and make new ATH

It feels like it was just recently. I remember everything that happened after that. It seems to me that the day is close when the price rises sharply. It is strange that the price fell exactly one year and only now has stabilized at its minimum.

I do not think the length of Bitcoin this year will penetrate again in the position of $ 20,000, if seen from the current movement of bitcoin, whose name is the investment world, it could or did not occur, the movement of bitcoin this year is rather difficult to predict the real price, but Ihope that bitcoin in 2019 can rise and at least reach $ 15,000 at least.

It has sure spiraled down since it reached the summit, holding off well around the 60% drop mark for several months and then a massive free fall over the past four weeks.

But considering what lead to the pump of last year, it could be categorized as a bubble and was sure to burst at some point.
A more steady growth would be more beneficial to the market.

Some say it will be 2020 when BTC will reach $20K again but I am not optimistic on that prediction.
I would be happy if it reaches $10K, a slow and steady growth.

Yes, it was a great time - December 2017. Portfolio for 1 month increased by more than 15 times! Today we see the opposite picture - the Portfolios of all players were emptied 15 times.
How long will we wait for the next take-off? I don't know, but I still believe in it and I like this market. There are only those who are not afraid to lose their money and believe in bitcoin!

I think I miss the excitement of that market, rather than the price of $ 20,000. Of course, the high price is also important. It is important to be more profitable. I think next ATH will be about 70K before next big correction.

Institutional money will enter but you forget that even futures and margin trading is also entering the market and big institutional investors can also short it and enter in low also. So even it is possible that we can see a very low value of bitcoin when the institutional investors will start to invest. As they will need to clear the panic sellers and all lower traders so that they can raise the price without any problem.

Same here! been waiting for a cool project where we can really use bitcoin. Been seeing this VRChat gameplays on youtube and just watched ready player one movie. I hope they combined! I wanted to buy stuff with bitcoin soon thru a virtual world.

Just like before which Bitcoin has proven and tested it will rise again but there is no clear answer on when it will reach its previous ATH at the moment. Before we even think about reaching 20,000$ again we need to re-test several resistances most importantly the ones near in our current level. After that the true retest for Bitcoin is reaching once again back above 10,000$ which will be a long way to go as we are not even half of that price yet.

To be fair I don't give a shit what famous people say on crypto because usually they say it's scam, manipulated or someone comes and somehow says goods, without amy facts and arguments, it's annoying for me.

That's not so easy to stay with crypto, there is no guaranteed reason that bitcoin will reach or surpass it's all time high, also when investor looks situation, it's 100x hard to decide whether hold coins or not because you don't know how situation will go and this withdraw may be your only escape from huge loss or even opposite can happen.

Some people have left, but others remain in the game. The non-believers were just here for some quick cash. When you get deep into crypto you never want to leave, and the profits will follow when you understand the game

Yes that days was today on last year. But no one can say when it will hit again ATH. But positive thing is, seems Bitcoin start correction from today. Just noticed now on Binance Bitcoin hit 3580 from 3200 zone. Look like effecting last year bull run today. But I don't think it will grow very fast like last year. Who know it might be bull trap or correction. But I will say it's positive that same day run up like last year. Hope soon will recover at least 6K zone. From that zone it was dropped much. So it should be recover first on 6K zone.

yes it is a beautiful memory. I think there are many people who became rich last year and in 2018 many people are sad now because they hope that the events of last year can be repeated and they may suffer a lot of losses because hoping that

The funny thing is the ones who wants "quick cash" all end up in losses because they really don't know what they are entering and they are unprepared to do so. All of them got blinded with the big price gains Bitcoin is receiving that is why they think it is the best opportunity for them to enter the market which is the wrong the idea, if we are seeing Bitcoin going up then it is too late to enter the market as you are buying a position without any safety. People who really don't know what they are doing is they don't see the current market situation we are in as an opportunity they just think that this is where BTC is "dying" and won't go to its former glory.

Waoo.. how fast is time moving. I think that the price of bitcoin as at 2017 which was ATH has began to display as the market appreciate in price as at the time of this report. Hope are very high because of this rise in price, maybe the bull run is gradually setting in....

Well there is really not much to celebrate with just one year on and the price has gone way below that it's really not an encouraging sign but we still have to be patient

We have been hearing this statement from a pretty long time, the government is lacking interest in making bitcoin ETF fast, they should have already legalized it by now but there isn't a thing about it till now. The government is killing the buzz about bitcoin and institutions are making this dump longer because they could buy in cheap as when the next bull run will start then there would be no end to it this time as the institutions are risking their money now. I even found a video that was saying many experts of Wall Street are now investing in bitcoin in secret but telling the people opposite about bitcoin.

Nobody can predict when the new ATH will be, but if I had to choose a period, I would bet around the nearest halving ... I think 2-3 months before halving.
Of course, a lot can happen by then, so as I wrote it is only my guess.

Oh, how quickly the time passed. It feels like just yesterday I hoped that it wasn't a good idea to withdraw money right now, and Bitcoin will reach at least 25000$ :-[

Really funny though that at the eve of the last all-time-high, Bitcoin suddenly jump to $3500-$3600 today, and majority thinks this could be the start of a recovery, but I doubt it. Anyways, yes, I still remember the massive growth we can seen last year that culminates into all-time-high. Even wallets that I have back then with dust amounts turns into gold, LOL. As for the a highs, might take years to reach though, it's going to be a long road. Most probably prior or after the next block halving in 2020 will be a good bet to see whether we can see another all-time-highs.

Celebrating with new lows every week, haha, but well this market is like that, in one year we are in ATH, the other in ATL and so we go year after year reaching different goals, that's what makes it so exciting, the variety that the market has.

i honestly believe that Bitcoin all-time high can have a repeat and it can even that $20000 level, it just shows that Bitcoin has a huge potential for profit and adoption and this is just a hint of much more bull run to come 2019 we are going to have a great run.

i dont think we will reach more then last year but iam also waiting for new investors XD

I remember that day with nostalgia as bitcoin skyrocketed to a ATH it was incredible while some people belief that the price will continue the bullish runs unfortunately the price began to drop to the present state we are now, of course the graphical illustration or price history as shown above had already indicated the possibility of another bullish runs.

I think the thinking is permanent at this standard price
It is unhealthy
I think we are at the end of the downtrend and we are on the rise
But it may be slow and not necessary to reach the same prices in 2019.

this bear market that we live today and who were already there well before years ago is only the beginning of the story repeats itself, maybe it will last longer but the bull is not dead just took a break and the more it rests, the stronger it will be for a new ATH.

How time files. Last year we are in a different atmosphere and members here are very lively and happy to see the price reaches ATH and everyone enjoy their holidays with a lot of money in their pocket.

So I guess what we can do is put 2018 aside and learned lessons from this bear market. So patience is the key here, we need more of it because we really don't know when we are going to hit ATH again.

I have read an article somewhere that claims bitcoin can reach over 30k usd ( higher  than the previous ath )  . i actually believe on it because that was said by an expert in the crypto field  but the only problem is that it can probably happen next year specifically on the middle quarter  .  



Yeah . there is no point of celebrating because it is not something that can make us happy .   i will only celebrate if btc will reach over a year of fix ath but i know that the chances are verry slim  .

That was a great time, everyone keep on talking about bitcoin and how they made profit by doing scalping, and some media headline news was bitcoin, it really increase the bitcoin popularity, but the consequences now is we are facing a huge correction, and seems like there won't be any huge rising like 2017 again

Late observation, I myself only saw this news today, strange how a year passes by so quickly even with non stop price declines. Now a look back on 2 years ago. We saw BTC x20 or so on the way up to ATH. Not sure which year went by quicker!

Wondering now if this sudden retrospective comparison contributed to the steep jump in prices across the board. Probably now some people expecting another wild swing in either direction. A repeat of 2018 would see sub $700...

It was one of the most glorious days of my life.
Not only the bitcoin price was high but I was also capable of selling many stuff for bitcoin those days and I had so much money.

I have managed to pay for a foreign country vacation with that money and paid it upfront and managed to live for couple months as well, think about it you make enough money to pay for a vacation for a week in Europe (which is hard for a third world country person) and also live couple months with the money you made inside a week. I really to miss those times.

Not only because the price was high but also the job opportunities were higher and there was more people here. Right now the price is low but also the interest for anything crypto related is low as well. Which really questions why I am still doing this.

I must say that time is flying, and very soon market will be flying again. It is just a test for the patience of investors who are still holding their investments or they are ready to invest more. If you are suffering today , definitely your tomorrow will be better. You should work on today, a wise decision of investment today will be helpful in future.

I have found threads like this before but I still haven't found an answer why the price of bitcoin can go down so far. is this a correction? and when will bitcoin reach the new ATH?

Well for one bitcoin went into a bubble last December and what follows is a imminent crash to $3K as of the moment, a 80%-85%. You can't really find a specific answer to your question as to why the price suddenly fall because there's a lot of reasons, like FUD, government regulations and the recent Bitcoin Cash hash war that really put a significant dent on the price. As for the new all-time-high, hard to say when it's going to happen, might take months or years.

For the anniversary the price of bitcoin went up a bit. It is still not even remotely close to what it used to be but it is a good feeling to have bitcoin increasing again. I really hope we can see the 20 thousand dollars once again because the current price not only affects our economy but our community as well.

Bitcointalk was the main hub for all crypto discussions and even here there are not many new topics or not many new messages and every day the same people talk about the same topics constantly, I really hope the hype and interest of the public turns back to crypto in 2019 so we can see the increase of interest towards crypto we really need it. 20 thousand dollar days were filled with happy people here who dream about becoming really rich whereas right now there are people who do not believe the price will go up even while its going up a bit and think it will fall back.

I think that in 2019 bitcoin will have the chance to get up and make a leap like in 2017, I still believe that a high leap will happen again.

I believe in the next three years we would be talking of seeing bitcoin above $20,000 again.  We are happy things happen in this way last year and the current bearish market is a sign that bitcoin will not continue going up and at the same time continue going down.

I somehow agree with what you said in the sense of crypto market to be up and down trend sometime cause this is the fact that some people ignore and only focus on making money rather than thinking of the possibility to down trend of the market.

I like that day when the value of the bitcoin became $20,000 and that is 1 year and we are waiting to see that again and I hope even I wait 2 months more it just okay for me. And if you notice since 1 year ago the price became like that price now increasing again and that is new hope for us.

No one can predict when it will reach new ATH but we are hoping for that. All of us are expecting new ATH for bitcoin just like what happen last year but the sad truth it will not happen in this year. Everyone who have bitcoin experience big losses but we must endure it because all we need is wait for another ATH of bitcoin.

I remember last year on december i was able to make good profit and even i thought on january 2018 the price will reach to new ATH but unfortunately the fact is the price down more than 80% but i quite optimistic that next year the price will be better or at least more higher than now
