Title: Which Altcoins still kept its stance and still standing strong from 2017 ranks?
Post by: very_452001 on December 17, 2018, 09:16:27 PM
Like to know which altcoins from 2017 thats ranked in the top 100 on coinmarket screenshots hasn't moved that much from its 2017 rank/position?

Looking at coinmarketcap now at the end of 2018 I can see all these new coins in the top 100 that I never heard of in 2017 :o

Some coins that were in top 100 last year dropped nearly upto 1000 positions  :o There are known as shitcoins right?

Is there a website or illustration showing the position ranks compared to 2017 to now 2018?

I believe the strong altcoins still within good rank are worth holding onto.

I personally still see omisego, siacoin, populous, golem, bancor and others still remaining in the top 100 coins. Just like you, I was surprised that many alt were thrown out and many newcomers were replacing them. Is this fair competition?

IMHO there will be just BTC, ETH and XRP on top 3 other we will see falling in rank, others in top 10-20 will totally change (maybe NEO will survive). This will be current low cap coins or new projects in top 20.

Im not sure if that will survive consider it's lack of the update and partnersip. A lot of new icos are trying to go back to the ethereum platform again dude. FYI, bitcoin and ethereum are not security but i'm not sure about that one that has known as ripple.

Dropped from top 100 to 1000 does not mean all of them are shitcoins because in cryptocurrency there is a time when some project is being accumulated, we are calling it capitulation.
it happened before with XVG when it was at 7 satoshi or even less than that a few years ago.

Which one it is? Bitcoin? Ethereum? or?
those ICOs are crap until now none of them deliver what they were promising for. Ethereum killer? more like a tool for another ICO, not the killer.

Try coinmarketap's historical snapshots:

https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/

This one is for the beginning of 2017.
https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/20170101/

When you look and see that to be in the top 100 only required a market cap of $694,000 it puts the growth we've seen since then in to perspective. To date the 100th coin has a marketcap of $31.1m, that's a near 50x increase. A $694k marketcap today sees a coin sit at 820th place in marketcap.

There are so many guys still hope that Bitconnect will retrieve. LOL

That comparison would be interesting, indeed. I know about coins that I hold (or held for some time) such as Ardor, Golem and Bancor.

waves is the best answer now,,
waves price explode in this red situations and already touch 100K Satoshi each,,
if we comparing with others cryptocurrencies, the rising price of waves is more than any others good altcoins such as ethereum or maybe cardano

So far, if you're a solid investor for XRP, you're still doing quite well actually.

Altcoin that still survives from 2017 in tanks 1-10 seems to be XRP, Ethereum and XLM, these three altcoins are altcoin legendary because they can last from year to year in the top rank.

But what about coins privacy, waves eos, nano and others. Of course, many of them have not even begun their strong development in front of a bear market, so I think this will happen soon.

Depends a lot on your position even before 2017, really. I know some people who have always considered anything other than Bitcoin to be shitcoins. I know they have a lot of respect for some shitcoins with good devs like Litecoin which I also really liked. Ask the old ETC guys and they will tell you ETH was always an evil shitcoin.

Look at EOS and XRP too. Pure useless coins that somehow stood strong. And Bitcoin Cash? Now it has 2 new shitcoins derived from it. Incredible right? Hard to say what will survive and what won't in this crypto world.

I don't like EOS it is very centralized as for me. They get a huge amount of money, but I haven't heard anything positive about them for a long time. Idea was great, but I don't see any great projects on their platform.

Looking at the Top 100 coins on CMC in 2017, I think I would only pick Dogecoin, Litecoin , Monero, Ethereum, and Decred. I picked Litecoin and Dogecoin because they are forks of Bitcoin and do not want to do any special thing, they want to play a simple role to Bitcoin by complementing the functions of Bitcoin and feel both will be there as long as Bitcoin exist

Doesn't look like any competition to me. Many of the coins that got replaced on their spots were simply replaced because of the state of the market. The daily trading for those coins simply increased and as such it increased their marketcap alonsgide. This helped them replace other coins on their favourite positions.

Which low cap or new projects do you think that will steal the top 20 positions?

So crypto is like fashion/technology now where old coins gets replaced with new coins trend?

Why new ICO's going back to Ether platform? If they do then that means old ICO's not on the Ether platform will die?

Ok reviewing this thread the following list are:

populous
golem
siacoin
bancor
omisego
neo
Ardor
Chainlink
cardano
eos
nano
dogecoin
decred

Any other altcoins that deserves to go on the above list?

Which altcoins above you think and believe will be in the top 20 or still remain in the top 20 rank by mid 2020?
