Title: Have I Lost Coins?
Post by: batt1948 on December 18, 2018, 08:31:00 PM
Hi All,

I haven't used Electrum in a long time and needed to receive some coins in a hurry.

I created a new wallet and gave address from wallet to person sending me coins.

However, I didn't create a new request in the wallet. So they never appeared in my history or in my balance.

When I do ismine("address") with the address I gave out, it returns true.

My question is, how to I send these coins?

Thank you (sorry if i am not clear)

You don't have to create a request in order to be able to spend them, giving the address should be enough.

If you can see the funds on a blockexplorer, then you should have them. Have you tried to change the server you're connected to using the button on the bottom right corner (assuming that you're using the latest version)?

You must update your Electrum (https://electrum.org/#download).

Update your wallet if it’s old, there’s a random sync issue with the old ones. It’s likely the bottom left is saying synchronising or not connected on the bottom left.

If there’s still an issue on the new wallet then we will be able to help better. Search your bitcoin address on google and a block explorer should come up.
