Many people talk about this Serenity aka Ethereum 2.0 - but will it make any difference on the market?

This is an article that looks at some of Ethereum 2.0 potential drawbacks.

Some says it will have the same effect of halving, it should have good effect otherwise they won't be upgrading to ETH2.0.

We may forget about the casper if this is going to happen though, I was expecting to stake the only few ETH I have but if its the ETH2 that they choose then, I can just continue to keep accumulating.

if it's true it will be launched next year, it will definitely have a big impact on ethereum because there will be many people who will hold it. but the problem is when it will be launched very long, rumors about this update exist without definite clarity.

On the overall market - no. For ETH - you'd sure hope so or ETH is going to fade away. It won't influence the whole market because there isn't such a inter-connectivity with alts and ETH as there is with alts and BTC. ETH 2.0 could be too little too late for ETH, there's a lot of new coins challenging its superiority.

It looks like they certainly take their time

It will have a big effect as it will solve ETH issue with scaling and the transactions will be much
faster and more secure. Huge developers team is working on it for long so it should be a game
changer on the market. After implementing of Serenity I think ETH will bounce back and recover.
Until that I will try to full up my bags with it, as much as I can.

It is safe to say that it will have a huge impact on all ERC type tokens. I am not sure though if it will have the same impact on the entire market similar to what bitcoin does (or half of what bitcoin does).

is it perhaps the new ethereum with capping already or fixed total supply unlike the old one?

There's more than just this upgrade to look forward to as it's possible there will be a futures product announced next year for Ethereum which will help add some hype and grow the market base considerably so don't focus too much on minor drawbacks if they prevent you from seeing the bigger picture

Drawing attention back to crypto community maybe? This could bring a bounce to most erc 2- tokens out there so I wil lbe rooting for it. or Eth is ready for the worst to come in 2019.

Yes it will have a big impact on the market, that is the solution they come up to overtake XRP again. The fact that they switch to Proof of Stake(PoS) from Proof of Work(PoW) because they knew that Proof of Stake has more scalability than Proof of Work.

Advocating the bubble, Ethereum's technology will allow cryptocurrencies to quickly attract large bubbles, leading to the take-off of the entire cryptocurrency market. However, the bubble is now over and it is a good time to buy coins.

Personally I think this is a marketing strategy in trying to rebrand etherium and bring in more attention. A lot of persons will tend to buy into it hoping it would bring the much needed improvement. Personally I do not think it is necessary, we already have etherium classic which has less or no utility value aside from being a fork of eth. I do not expect much though but whatever brings in more value and investors to eth is well appreciated and encouraged

After launching Serenity, otherwise Ethereum 2.0, the positions of the ethereum will grow, as it is filled with many new features. The new update promises to make the network more secure and less energy-intensive, and also promises to increase the throughput of Ethereum a thousand times.

i hope ethereum 2.0 has a positive effect on the price. it is really a big update and if that does not change anything, i would be very surprised. but nothing is safe in the crypto market, so i am not relying on it.

Nice kind of advertisement, remember when the ethereum supporters will try to create a comparison with elrond and it will become the opposite thing. Ethereum is an old platform and it needs a lot of improvements.

They said that Ethereum 2.0 or what so called, Serenity will going to be 1000x better compared to the current ethereum. If it is real, we should now invest too much in ethereum so that we can gain too much in the future.

I think these kind of articles are very productive in terms of feedback for the technology - it really doesnt matter at what lever one project is - for the purpose of advancement in terms of technology any critique is and should be welcomed. True builders should know this!

We don't know until it's happening in the next year and meanwhile, we could trade ethereum now and make more and more profit if we can. Some people say it will impact the ethereum price because there is something new from ethereum but once again, we don't know and only the time can tell. But I believe that in the long-term, ethereum can increase like before and even it can breaks the price to the higher price.

All of us are waiting for the hard fork of ethereum which be called ethereum 2.0. It seems that many start to get more interested in ethereum because of its new upgrade platform. Lastly, once they success on hard fork I think the price will rapidly grow up.
