Title: Dogecoin - are we hitting the highest value?
Post by: _Cryptobomb_ on December 19, 2018, 09:18:43 PM
It looks like the Dogecoin price finally started showing very bullish momentum starting this week, being stable for some time. Ranked 20 with a trade volume for the  past 24 hours $31.60 M USD.

Over the past 24 hours, there has been another strong 16% increase. This has pushed the price to $0.002479, although there may be a dip to $0.0023 in the coming hours. There is also a 9.6% increase in Bitcoin value, which further seems to indicate the uptrend might remain in place in that department. It is also the first time in a while one DOGE is valued at 70 Satoshi or more.

Well, at some point, good news for HODLers.

First off, what do you mean by "hitting the highest value"?

I mean, pretty much everything rose in price in general, not only bitcoin and doge; and while doge rose in price higher than bitcoin did, this is really nothing new. Even EOS had a higher price increase percentage, along with other altcoins.

You should look at the graphs stretched on longer periods of time.
At the time I entered crypto, Dogecoin was clearly over 100 satoshi (115 iirc).
I've just checked the graphs and from what I see, in May 2017, Dogecoin reached again over 120 Satoshi (0.00324$). Also after Bitcoin ATH, Dogecoin had its ATH in January 2018 (0.015$ !!).

So no, Dogecoin is quite far from its highest values, even the ones from the recent history.

Also, since Dogecoin has infinite supply, it could be adopted by some business as a proper coin (although being a meme coin I somehow doubt it), but also, because of its infinite supply its value is bound to ever decrease. So the price is pure speculation. After I understood that I sold my doges at the first good occasion the market gave me.

I still can't believe dogecoin is alive and still going strong.

When I first came into the crypto scene there was no doge, when it first came out one day there was no doge and the next there was one, that is how people did new coins back than, there was no ICO, just "here is the wallet" and we started to mine it. However, it was purely a meme coin that never really intended to be this big. We are talking about a coin that is top 20 in volume and totally just a fun entertainment thing.

Back when "wow such moon" type of jokes were funny and we did even paid for an advertisement on a nascar car once which everyone heard but that was really it, never really even imagined it would get this big. Doge literally hit the highest during the 2017 peak like all others, this is not a peak at all.

It may or may not happen because the market is in a very difficult period and any predictions can cost you a lot of money. I believe dogecoin's price increase is temporary and you need to have more knowledge on dogecoin as this is not a good investment this year.

there are so many people who say that dogecoin is a joke coin, but he is able to prove that he can survive until now, and in my opinion this is not the highest point for dogecoin so far but if only in this month it can.

Doge coin is currently use for pump and dumps only. And I used DOGE coin to send some transactions because DOGE can be cheap with that and it helped me a lot.

I don't know anything about dogecoin, but I think the general market is green and the dogecoin is following suit.
Both this bitcoin and all other Alts, are doing very well on the charts at the moment.
I think this is enough reason to believe in the cryptocurrency market, this may not be a bull run,but it looks comfortable to me
So it's not just dogecoin that experienced a rise, but the market in general

I've been a holder of dogecoin since 2014, the year when Josh Wise bore the name on his NASCAR run. Prior to that, price has seen 150> satoshi due to a pump, so no, this is not dogecoin hitting its highest value in 2018. A small bump in bitcoin would also cause some bumps on other crypto as well, so I would not be enthusiastic and ecstatic for some percent gain on my beloved alt. Also, I don't hear any more developments and projects going on for dogecoin so it's hard to really relate the price bump to anything doge-related.

Not the "highest" value to think of right now. BTC is at its low rate as of now. So don't think of some other coins that are about to become shit coin will hit the highest value of your expectations.

Yeah, I remember when doge hit 120 sat and it seemed like it was destined for the moon at that time....and then reality sank in and it fell back to earth.  I haven't been following any altcoins in a while, but if doge is up right now that's great for the die-hard holders.  They have one of the friendliest communities that I know of in the entire crypto space, and doge could actually be one of the coins that might be useful for commerce (but not investment).

Disclaimer:  I own ZERO dogecoin and haven't owned any in probably over a year, so I'm not trying to pump it with my words of support.  It's a goofy little coin, but it's always been one I've had a fondness for.  Unfortunately I think the unlimited (eventually) supply is going to keep the price from ever staying high.  I think of doge like modern postage stamps, like from the 1970s-today.  They're printed in ridiculous numbers, and the demand isn't that strong, so none of them are very collectable or rare.  There's enough for everyone to own if they wanted to.  Hell, you can buy mountains of discount unused postage stamps on eBay--and that's what dogecoin is like in my eyes.

Edit:  Shouldn't this thread be in the altcoin section?

Yep, this describes it perfectly. I've sold my doges long ago exactly because I understood it doesn't have much of a chance as investment, although I always hoped that somebody will come with a great idea to use the fact Dogecoin has infinite supply and, even more, make use of that uniquely great and warm community.

Coming here from there was quite a shock for me back then. From joking and sharing and having a good time to everything precise and cold. Heh...I still go to that sub-reddit now and then, for nostalgia :)

without the fensa for people who like dogecoin, but what is the purpose of dogecoin? I mean, when people buy dogecoin, what do these people do with those dogecoins they're buying?  dogecoin  have any use in real life? why the hell something that does not have a great use it is on the 20 ranking in the coinmarketcap? these are things that are very difficult to understand in the crypto world. there are many nonsense altcoins

today I saw this: Bitcoin God (GOD)

Price: $8,23

Volume (24h): $450 819 USD

In the previous few days we saw the price of all the coins rising so the price of dogecoin also increased and it is not the final highest price as more bullish market in expected in the coming months and in the whole coming year so the price of it will rise more higher in the coming future.

Well doge has been stable in the last couple of years, and seems to be just have a longer staying power than its contemporaries.

Over the past 24 hours, there has been another strong 16% increase. This has pushed the price to $0.002479, although there may be a dip to $0.0023 in the coming hours. This is just another pump and should be good for short term profit though. We're still far from a bull run so everyone is doing short including bitcoin and doge.

Well, at some point, good news for HODLers.

I guess it's really a welcoming news but nothing to celebrate so its better to continue HODLing.

Dogecoin is still an altcoin with great potential with its impressive trading speed. Unfortunately, the development team chose to abandon Dogecoin when the market is in this sensitive time. So I will not believe in Dogecoin as before

Couldn't they just want your BTC or ETH? Or maybe you money?

It's a traders life, to profit from someone else's loss.

Anyways, I've seen doge trading at 0.00000019 last year, the lowest maybe? But come on, who ever pumped it must have earned more BTC.

Lol. Everyone loves a good parody and a good meme 😄🤣 i doubt doge has any use at all but some companies may find it fitting to put a use to it considering it's one of the oldest alts and quite popular as well.

No serious investors are buying dogecoin.  Dogecoin is a shitcoin based off a meme, I have no idea why people are actually buying this scam coin.  Even if the developer said it was just a joke.  Anyone holding Doge would be best served converting straight to BTC or ETH before the inevitable crash that will come.

I think your decision is clearly spoted. But all the crypto will going to moon in future so most of the peoples are trying to hold the altcoins. May be dogecoin is one of the future independent cryptocurrency so don't loose the hope of your investment. It should be a right platform my suggestion is buy more doge in this bearish trend because market is slowly recover again.

dogecoin does not have very much price movements, if there is a definite little movement because the price of dogecoin is very cheap and the development of dogecoin has not been too much making the price of dogecoin difficult to rise, will only rise when there are certain events.

There is also another memecoin that I know, the frog that I always see on social medias. They somehow changed the name, but the volume is still low unlike the dogecoin. Dogecoin is much popular in gambling sites, especially on faucets, and I already replaced the word "amazing" with the infamous phrase "much wow", my nephews and nieces love it too!

As far i know the highest price only 100 satoshi above but i think Doge coin cannot improve the price again especially the current market that doge is not good options to traded also seems for long term holders is not wise to putting doge as part of your portfolio but sometimes i was wondering why altcoins with low price such as doge can survive from year to year that when other altcoins dead but doge still alive until now

I do not have much knowledge about this type of currency, but I do not believe in any currency during this time because of my judgment, it will take a long time for growth to return and we have A long time to prepare and learn knowledge. However, I am quite excited about this currency when dogecoin holded by my friends. But I don't understand what is special about Dogecoin?

It is just another bump and dump coin and used by most of the traders for short to long term hold because the cycle going again and again in doge so if someone want to buy a chap coin with good profits rate then it is good for them to.BUt now the prices again dumping so still not the prices are going bullish.

Well, maybe you never know for sure. Sometimes it’s those coins you less expect it from that will perform very well. Just like last year Litecoin was trending heavily and everyone was jumping into it. Same might also be for Dogecoin this year, but I don’t know yet, cause a little percentage increase doesn’t mean things are getting better.
