If the whales are secretly buying up Bitcoin than I will buy Bitcoin at the current market rate. Even if it goes to 2500$. Gives me sum hope in the crypto space. Only if I find out they are buying through forums etc.

Is this for real? How to make sure if the whales are buying it? Are you using the bullish trend as a signal that will represent the whales? It could be wrong. The problem is they are always try to accumulating more coins on the stable market and they never try to buy when the price gets pumped.  ::)

The buying of "whales" is difficult to discern since most of the trading on exchanges has been found to be Wash Trading by bots and it is well known that "whales" tend to do there buying and selling on OTC markets which are not transparent. I do wish the market would grow up and stop using stupid terms like "whales" when in any other market it would be called "institutional trading".

you shouldn't invest in anything just because you see someone else (even a whale) is investing in that thing. and definitely you should not invest just because you think they are investing!

instead you should only invest AFTER you do your own research and analyze the asset you want to buy (in this case bitcoin) and if you saw the potential in it and predicted a good future with a price rise then buy it.
if you do the research step then you can use the information above (like seeing whales accumulating) as an additional green light to buy bitcoin. but it should not be your only reason.

You are right, but if you want to buy it, you should hurry, because when Bitcoin reaches a certain price, the whale/shark will sell it to profit from the investment.

you guys are correct. alot of good information here. i think we see them accumulating but dont know when they are selling. but im not sure when to sell either. its too soon to sell. i will sell when the price is right. and thats when hyperbitcoinization happen lol jp.

Whales don't tell us or never give a signal to people when they buy, is better to buy on your own when you feel like can make a profit on long time, so we must buy when we want and when we need because we don't know when whales buy.

I don't think I will have to wait for whales to buy bitcoin before I too will be prompted to buy since I believe in the potential of bitcoin and how it market is an ever growing one I will just buy the one I can with confidence and hold. Currently Bitcoin is falling so whales are started with massive selling. They bought Bitcoin at 3500 and now they sell it with 100% profit, it is enough for them, why they should pump it to the moon?

Whales don't sit still. They manipulate the market. They make many small bulls and bears to buy for cheap and sell for high to buy more cheap coin.
We won't realise when they'll be making the ultimate bull and falls for their small traps.

Let's go back to the timeline when OP posted this. The date was December 20, 2018 and the price of bitcoin by that time was $3,827. Where are we right now? okay bitcoin pumped up to $8400 and because of the sudden correction it is sustaining its position on $7,300.

If many of the people here had followed what OP said that he was buying during that time. Calculate on how much the potential profit you had made right now.

How do you know if the whale was buying bitcoin? You don't know about that, and the only chance for us is to buying bitcoin when it's down, and I think the whales will buy too. It's not about the whales buying bitcoin or not, but it's about us. If we want to buy bitcoin at a low price, then we don't need to wait for the whales or anyone else. Just place the order buy at a low price and enjoy the time to fill your order.

So you see, i guess we've all had a misconception on the role of the "whales" in the crypto market. I see them as individuals/institutions that has been involved in bitcoin since the very early stages when it was far removed from mainstream attention. And just like any other market participants, i do believe they would probably like to see Bitcoin/cryptocurrency rise in the future.

Yes, it is true. You don't need to know who is pumping the price of bitcoin, whether it's a big whale or someone else. what is certain is as a bitcoin user or it can be between us. I always go with the flow and don't miss when there are good opportunities to buy.

yes that's probably the best way, but we have to know when it starts. don't be too sure that at that price the whales has started to buy. always see trading volume before buying. usually when whales will buy, the trading volume will increase suddenly.

How can you find a whale? I have an idea, you can track biggest wallets and then follow their actions, but it is tricky, sometimes it is hard to realise if whale is selling btc or pumping alts or use margin trading

You shouldn't believe all in the signals group or channels. There's a follow up you can do about btc. Although btc is going to moon. The market has been great since last week. But you don't buy cos of whale, you buy according to the conditions of the market , we all want profits definitely.

Basically the dump occurs after a succesfull pump  . It happened recently where bitcoin drops under 8usd after it reaches 8k usd  but there is no specific date or time with this  .

It's hard to spot or to know when a whale buys in the market. Their move are unpredictable and most likely they buy at times when bitcoin is low. I think this explains why even at the lowest price of bitcoin it seems to go high up again. Though most telegram channels promises they will buy at some point are just mere pump and dump coin groups and should stay away from them.

Actually we cant pinpoint the exact time really on when is these whales are selling.We can just feel it by the huge sudden pricedrop in market. So if you feel its the lowest price already then follow your instinct buying it back.

my believe is bitcoin still remain the  best and i know for sure that btc will make the moon, apart from whales are buying bitcoin i know bitc cant just go like that. which means i am going to buy bitcoin in bulk so as to avoid stories when it moon even if bitcoin is 1000$ i will still love to keep the coin and wait to see the next phase.

If you haven't make a move on buying btc at 2500$ plus then right now you have missed a huge opportunity as bitcoin is trading over 7000$ now ,my advice is bitcoin is the best and you don't have to wait for whales to start buying before you buy yours.

you better buy bitcoin even the whales has not move yet, that is the good opportunity for the small time holders in the market to earn besides you dont know when the whales will move so better to anticipate it as early as possible specially with this movement of the price in the market.

How do you know if it is the whales who are buying bitcoin? You cannot see them buy the volume because of the reason that most of them buy collectively and a huge amount is involved in it. If you trade million dollars in the trading market, I doubt it, I suspect it is a bot making trade, I am not so sure but who is going to try it in a sane state of mind alone. If you lose you lose alone, but if collective, you lose and everybody is losing too, luckily, losing is not whales mindset.

whales takes advantage on its own at every seen opportunity, and that is why they remain whales, small investors don't need to compete with whales because they also have their slots of opportunities. if you have not made a move of buying at $2500, you missed a lot of opportunity, and that is what is making you different from the whales.

There is no way we could have known if it is whale who are buying at the market.
We don't even know how do they buy what if they just contact the exchange owners or borkers to do an over the counter transaction?
Or what if the whales are playing at the market making a plenty of small orders so it wouldn't be obvious?

You might be correct now price increased more than two times . Its because of whales yes people says about lots of good news but good news will impact market for some time . But promoters or whales who actually decide market . If you bought at dip by thinking whales are buying now you could be a winner.

  Let's put the price of bitcoin into consideration, is it wise for a crypto enthusiast with let's say less than 500$ invest in bitcoin just because he sees or hears that whales are buying bitcoin ? For me it is a no, as the Roi at the end of the day will be nothing compared to an individual that made his or her own research and invested in a very good coin will lower price and market cap. My advise to anyone intending to get a coin for keeps is make research and push for a coin with lower price due to multiplier effect.

We can't really tell when will the whales are gonna sell their coins, our only clue is when the market price decreases, but we can't really tell from which trader came from normal trader or whales, and we can't really tell also because of the huge volume.

What is use if you wanna buy bitcoin if whales buying a large of bitcoin then you might had to buy a more pricey bitcoin then whales. Their was no use in term to buy something if the whales buy it or not as the market is not really has being controlled by whales. Exchanges is a free market so up and down is determine by it own market.

You need to check the charts and see where the higher lows, you'd just have the draw the line of the trend to see the support and resistance. Buy where the support is as the market is in uptrend. Lets just assume for now that whales are buying BTC when prices goes down every time.


The idea is to buy at cheaper price while you sell at peak, there isn't an exact price where you can buy at the cheapest unless you set the bid and you got lucky to have picked by someone. The market isn't controlled but they can manipulate to make people panic and sell.

The notion of buying when the whales enter the market is to ride the momentum and it is not a good advice to begin with, the market is free to trade for everyone and the whales have too determine what the price will be and it is not determined by its own  :P . I would never plan to ride the market as it might not end up in a profit majority of the time, you need to have the patience for the market to go down to enter and hold for the long time to make any substantial profit.

I think your analyses are wrong about the whales because you should think why these are called whales. They are looking with sharp eyes and waiting for a complete bullish market so that they start selling their coins to make maximum profit. About the market price, Bitcoin is following increase trend and is not falling so you should correct your statement and is advised to do research about it for clarification.

Depend on his strategy, when he chooses for long term investment then this is not a bad time to buy bitcoin because there are many speculation that bitcoin will reach a high price. Actually, it could be a good strategy to monitor the largest wallets to see if they are accumulating, because reports are coming out that they were accumulating throughout the bear market and especially during the last stage of it. This could be seen as a leading indicator, with a lag of several months to a year to reflect into the price.

I don't agree with that idea, because whales buy bitcoin with the aim of gaining huge profits, even for long-term investments. Even though I, with small capital, certainly cannot survive like them, and finance for households can be messy.
