How do you tell the bear is over...

The past few days we've all seeing a gradual increase in the price of bitcoin and other alternative coins.. is this the buttom??

Are we all looking at a new bull run in progress??

Man if we knew that for sure every time we would all be millionairs lol. There is no sure way. Some very experienced traders cannot even tell and even they get it wrong a lot. Just stay informed, listen to what happens at market news and stuff. I am not here for a long time so that is what I do.

Nobody will tell you 100%. It is quite funny - if you buy now - BTC will go down.
If you will not buy now - BTC will go up.

Perhaps this is a false breakdown in order to encourage the newbies to think that the market has turned and then to shave everyone. So you have to be very careful now  :o

Everybody really want to know what the fate of the cryptocurrency market is but no matter how experienced anyone is in this space, he or she cannot be certain about what the market will look like at any time, the speculations and predictions is not always right but with the current few percent growth of crypto price it seems we can all take a deep breath and relax to watch through the end of 2018

There is no perfect illustration to define when the bearish season is over or not
It is left to every individual to determine such certainty

Because I could buy wave at 1$ and sell at the present rate; cos the bearish was over for me
But someone who bought waves at 6$ still have to wait for this bear to be over

No one can predict where the market is going in the short term and if it really has already reached its lowest level.
A reading is however clear, as in previous years, when bitcoin reached losses of more than 80% of its maximum value, it reacted and returned to overcome its old ATH, after reaching its bottom price. When that happens, we'll only see it from here some time.

I analyze. Today hash fighting activities don't make big transactions. then I saw a positive factor affecting the market. Like a few days ago. I see there are a purchasing of large number of BTC. and many investors return to BTC.

As for me, I don't follow any bitcoin movements like +-10%. It's not serious, I think the falling will stop when bitcoin will make 100% of growth in 1-2 weeks. But I don't expect it in the near future.

Are we all looking at a new bull run in progress??
I doubt it. We're still in a bear market, we haven't see a market reversal, and to be honest, a 20% increase in the prices in such market conditions isn't much of a indication that a bull run is on the way. As of now, we still don't know where this sudden surge will take us, it might be the beginning of the recovery phase, or it could be just another bull trap meaning that those who bought at the current price will get burned. We'll have to wait a few more days/weeks to actually have a better picture of what's going on in the market.

How do you tell the bear is over...

No one can tell. But if you look closely at the predictions, people are still divided:
(a) we have reached the bottom already $3100-$3200
(b) this is a dead cat bounce, we still need to go to another capitulation of $1500-$2000

The past few days we've all seeing a gradual increase in the price of bitcoin and other alternative coins.. is this the buttom??

Are we all looking at a new bull run in progress??

I wouldn't say that this is the start of a bull run, maybe just a short term spike fuelled by big whales trying to set up those who FOMO from $3200-$4000. So you need to be very careful as well. I guess if we see the price goes to $5K-$6K then just maybe we can say that bull run has started but for now it might be a trap or a dead cat bounce.

This is impossible to determine even for the experts so if you're new to investing do some research into trends and over bought and over sold market conditions, even delve into some technical analysis if your curious and then form your own conclusions and perhaps figure out what a decent entry price is if you're investing with a long term view and begin building your portfolio from there

See the chart, I think the price will re-test bottom again within 2 - 3 next weeks then it will go up. That means bear market doesn't still end. But it's also prediction only. We can't know exact what will happen in market, nothing is impossible.

We are all looking at the bull run and its possible to start by 2019.

later this year is the beginning of the recovery of Bitcoin prices and we don't know whether the bear market is over. maybe more clearly you can see in years 2019 if the price of Bitcoin rises further, then the bear market maybe is over. we just hope the bear market will end soon, and await further price surprises in the coming new year.

No one knows when bearish and when bull market comes. But it was looking hard for market to go below total of 100 Billion market and yes it did not go below 102 Billion market cap and bounce back from there. Many good events are going to happen in 2019 so all are expecting good market.

Yes, the price still moving to the high rate but it doesn't mean the bull is coming because of the price still trying to break the higher walls. We all waiting for the bull coming so the price can rally to the higher price and if you see what is happening in 2017, you will know the sign when the bull comes. But it's not guaranteed if the bull will same as the last year because everything change and perhaps, the rally will be smooth and we don't expect that there is a bull run happening at that moment.

Most likely this is a sly trap. There already was a several such situations last time, when two or three days we saw a huge grow and then again a huge fall. Be careful.

So it or not we will be able to see only within 2-3 months. But judging by what is happening, most likely it is the beginning of a market reversal. I'm really hoping for that.

Title: Re: Help a newbie

We cannot say that bear is over as we have seen in the past 50 to 60 weeks whenever there is small pump in the market later market goes down drastically within 7 to 10 days. This pump may be bear flag setup, if you are short term trader then go with market trends & trade with top 50 major cryptocurrency listed on CMC. If you are long term holder than invest without hesitating as 2019 will be the beginning of cryptocurrency mass adoption.

It seems that the bear market is still there, but it's not too bad because now there are many coins that have started to change green, which means there is an increase in prices and maybe the bear market will end at the end of this year.

The only way you know for sure is by looking back in hindsight. You always want to see capitulation before a bear market ends. That may be what happened in December. Or it could just a false bottom and the current run up we have seen in the last few day may run out of steam. If this is not the bottom we are getting pretty close so I would say it is ok to start buying again but don't do it all at once. Spread your trades out at regular intervals over the next couple months.

Bear market or bull market, as long as you only invest what you can afford to lose, you have nothing to worry about, because eventually the market will bounce back but it will take time before that happens, it's still uncertain at this point of time if we are going to see a long bull run.

IN my opinion, this is a new period of rising prices for cryptocurrencies. For a more successful increase in the price of BTC and other coins we need a HYIP. But Vitalik Buterin said that such a HYIP as in 2017 will no longer be. So much hope is not worth it.

This is the result of the Christmas holiday season, a slight recovery due to the selling of individuals to solve the expenses problem of the holiday season and it's not totally the bearish ending. We need to accept that it's a long way to go to have it.

It is because what you buy doesn't make a significant change in the market. What happens is that there are more dumpers than buyers during that short period of time, but it is a different scenario when we talk about whales.Whales are so reach up to extent that they can move the trend by their own, they can cause steep uptrend and downtrend in the graph everytime they buy and sell.

You can find out some things that can make the crypto currency market increase again, as we know the price movements of crypto currencies are strongly influenced by some information. I hope that in 2019 there will be many regulations that accept crypto currency well, because this way we can get out of the bear market that covers almost one year.

Yes, this is the first trip to the moon. We can take advantage of the year-end opportunity to be able to buy coins that we like, and who have good opportunities to come forward. 2018 is not a good year for crypto users, for 2019 it is the opposite of 2018.

It's better not to tell in the meanwhile that the bear is over. There's no confirmation that this bear is finally done.

Bull run or bull trap, as long as a newbie is still finding his position for this market. My advice is to know your position first, if you can take as many as dip as you can and you're going long term. But if not then you're definitely in a short term position which is risky for newbies.

Even technical analysis can also not tell when is the bottom and bull trend will start or end. This are all just guessed. No one can buy in bottom and sell in top, what ever price you are buying can be bottom and sold can be high end. Dont think or see the more lower and higher price then what you traded. only see that did you earned profit or not.

Bear market is still here and it will be here all over 2019. There are a lot of theories out there who are trying to predict the bitcoin bottom or the end of the bear market but this is hard to predict as we still have a BTC ETF incoming and this might drive the altcoins price down ever more.

it may take a lot of funds to do that from money or lots of votes to be able to control the market. but unfortunately crypto is very difficult to manipulate so I'm more thinking about learning how to analyze the market rather than having to do it that way

Nobody knows exactly when the bear season ends and the bull season begins. We can only guess about this. My guess is that the bull season will start soon. Because I think the market has been balancing for some time. And I think this is a preparation made in the case before of the bull season. But as I said at the beginning, it's just a guess.

If you see a steady rise in prices that lasts for months (4+ imo) then you can start talking about a bull market. I may last year we had a nice rise that lasted over a month and then prices dropped again. Thats why i think it takes months to talk about a change in sentiment.

How do you tell the bear is over...

The past few days we've all seeing a gradual increase in the price of bitcoin and other alternative coins.. is this the buttom??

Are we all looking at a new bull run in progress??

You'll just know when the bull is back.  If you are looking for it, it will eventually appear, just hopefully in your lifetime.

The difference is Wall Street fleecing/stealing is legalized and done in a way so as not to alarm the sheoples.  It's a master skim operation perfected over decades and decades.  Wall Street was set up after WWII in order to facilitate this theft until there was no more to steal.  We are approaching that point now.  The coming tsunami of higher fees, taxes, and regulations are all 100% going to happen.  The rich will try to steal everything we've got to fill the hole in the balance sheet created by the 'everything bubble' before they put one stinking cent of their own money towards the problem.  Money they've been directly stealing by raiding the treasuries of countries around the world especially since WWII, but it's been going on for centuries.

Crypto is unregulated for the most part and so the fleecing takes place suddenly and all at once.  Some comments in this thread point to the idea that if you invest the prices go down, and if you don't invest, the prices go up.  What this is is direct evidence the controllers are listening in to the masses' conversations, and because the crypto markets are so small right now, they can coordinate these ups and downs in order to maximize the damage to as many as possible.  It's not magic unless you don't believe they are listening to everything we are saying.  The reason cryptos have not been sanctioned by govs and corporations yet is because they can't rig it long term if even a small percentage of the masses begin to use it.  Rich people do not participate in games they cannot rig in favor of themselves.  Just look at the system we have now.  The wealth gap between the rich and the poor is greater than even during the peak of Roman times.  They have most of the f*****g money already, but it's just not enough.  They want it all.  The same damn families that were rich back then are still the same rich families of today.  When will we have had enough?

The current push by the govs and big corps to demonize crypto is simply a matter of protecting their current rackets.  Wall Street wants exclusive rights to pillage the sheople under their umbrella - crypto is like a little barking dog nipping at their heels.

No matter what happens to crypto in the short term, it is here to stay.  Stop looking for profits and start collecting a stable of currencies in preparation for the greatest shift in they way people will use money in known recorded history.   This is big folks.  Lots of people are going to die before this is all over.  My hope is the masses adopting cryptocurrencies will be our best chance for avoiding the bulk of the destruction headed our way.  We are living in the twilight zone at this juncture of history.  Never before has so much future spending been pulled into the present.  The direct effect of this is the massive and widespread complacency this has caused in an overly coddled and comfortable society - a result of living in beyond our means for so long.  The history books will point to this period of unbridled greed and corruption as a major turning point in history.  It is up to us to prevent a collapse back into the Dark Ages II.

Spread the word about crypto to at least one person per day, and do what you can to collect a group of cryptocurrencies that appeal to you and hold them long term.  You'll be glad you did.

Our bullock was beaten by a bear with a KO. The bear is living in its victory. The bull has not risen yet so are we out of hope? Of course, this is not, and we can wait for the bull to stand up again with a new battle to be able to defeat the bear, no need to worry about this.

The market is too much unpredictable as we have a whole year of bearish in 2018 and it's continually hurting the crypto market with a bad image due to price downfall. Yeah we have many predictions from those crypto experts but none of them made a correct and we should not rely on them. Our only assurance to get on track is to be patiently waiting until the recovery of the market and accumulate many coins if we can.

That could happen like in 2017-2018. We will see the bull market comes and makes all coins can increase higher. We will have the best time to sell every coin we have, and the best part is we can make a big profit as before. But before we see the bull market happen, we need to still patience and hold the coin until that time comes. I hope that when the bull market comes, the price will reach the last high price in 2017 and even more so our profit will bigger.

Bitcoin prices still often go up and down so that achieving high scores is still difficult. hopefully the bears will end soon and the market will rise again.
almost all coins go down and hopefully will rise soon, because beginners must understand the strategies and knowledge needed.

the increase will rise soon but may not be too high.

Quite opposite view on this for me the bear is almost over and it is the least price you will get for 1 btc at this time. As the months passes I assume prices will set to rise as demand will be coming up large and big and will push the prices very quickly upwards. Thus people who hold it and bought at lower price only will be making big money.

We get success to wait for a year in the last year, so I think if we need to wait until the next year, then it won't be a problem especially for people who want to hold their bitcoin and altcoin for a long time. But it won't work for people who are doing trade, and they need to find the other way so they could still make a profit from trading. These things can be supposedly, but only locally, and only through technical analysis.
The benefits of technical analysis in the crypto industry are about the same as from the magic ball. It works while it is beneficial to those who control and manipulate the crypto market.
it may take a lot of funds to do that from money or lots of votes to be able to control the market. but unfortunately crypto is very difficult to manipulate so I'm more thinking about learning how to analyze the market rather than having to do it that way

Having experienced 2017, crypto is easy to manipulate and can pump any altcoin up to several times its value. It is easily affected by news and sharks in the market

There have always been different points of upsurge in the price of bitcoin, alongside other coins in the crypto space, yet what you would notice next is another downtrend. This simply denote that KT is not the sign of bull run, but a normal intermittent cycle of uptrend and downtrend in the market.

Investors will feel relieved once the bear market will end within this year. I guess most of us will feel glad if it really happen though. But since we're still in the bear market, those who have a lot of funds, better invest it now in btc or alts. Don't wait for its price to increase again. You might can't afford to buy it. We are getting into the challenge and people have some of it if they couldn't wait for another bull runs, and they sell their coins early.

And also we are still in a bear market even with the gradual increase.  I cant really predict the bullish trend until there is a strong one to be able to determine a bullish market
Whatever can happen and up and down the cryptocurrency market is a common thing. Many people hope that the market will recover and increase and for now I personally prefer to continue to observe market developments from day to day to decide what steps I will take next.

I suggest that you may watch some videos regarding the technical analysis of bitcoin especially that it is very important to know the basics on how the market of cryptocurrency takes place all over the world. The bear market is most likely be discussed in those channels and some forecast when is the expected reversal of the crypto market might take place and even the price because of the chart analysis of those experts.

The bear market is not over, if you the newbie in the crypto, I am not suggesting invest in this time, it many shit coins and dead coins now in the market, if you invest it, you get lost.

I think he can invest in bitcoin only as this will gives him a big profit later especially if the bull market comes. But he can also invest in altcoin because I believe some big altcoin can be back to the higher price and will follow with bitcoin price to increase higher. He needs to have skills to analyze the bitcoin and the altcoin price so he can pick one or two or more coins as the investment. The bear market still here and there is nothing we can do about it, but we have a chance to make a profit by trading altcoin pair bitcoin.

How do you tell the bear is over...

The past few days we've all seeing a gradual increase in the price of bitcoin and other alternative coins.. is this the buttom??

Are we all looking at a new bull run in progress??

Hello, i think we cannot tell when the bear market is over, but we can see the sign at the near of the market recover.
We should not expect any bull market for now, let it come without prediction, so you won't disappointed later.
The year of 2019 is still long, there are many things still to be done in cryptocurrency.

To be honest we can't tell that until it becomes happening so we need to just hope of ull run will begin soon for that we have to buy the crypto currencies when the prices are cheaper, who knows maybe over a night the prices can be doubled so get ready for everything, and also ready to lose the amount you are investing.

The only way i personally would know or say that the bear is over is if there is consistency in the growth of cryptocurrencies, most especially bitcoin being the king of all cryptocurrencies.
This is the most prolonged bear market we have ever had, but after this, i believe there will be more prolonged bullish market which is the reverse of the bear market.
This could possibly happen this year and with the advent of the Bitcoin ETF, it is very much possible.

No one needs to tell you when there's a bull run. The news on crypto groups alone and the social media platforms can open up a deaf ear.. Lol

The market was all green lately and the bottom seemed to be reached. It became stable at $3,300 - $3,500 and now that it has broke to $3,600 we're likely to believe that this bear was done. Though we'll see some piece of red, don't think of it as the basis, don't look at the colors but look at the price and the stability of bitcoin.

The bear will be over once more investments from corporate finance bodies pour into the market where there is a return to normalcy of the market signalling major changes in the market direction. This can be made possible by enactment of regulations cutting out most of the flaws currently circulating in the industry.

If bull will come, I think we would have seen the signs. Although, sometimes the market might retrace again and what is thought to be bull, might just be an intermittent uptrend, which will later fall again.
For now, I would advise you not to ficus on bull run, rather get some good coins and follow their updates.

Yes, as you say, it's better to find a good coin than just focus on Bull Run because it will always make you afraid of the price.
For now the market is still unstable and the Bearish market has not been officially exhausted, I think this increase may not last long, but I really hope otherwise that this is the beginning of recovery.

Simple! As we noticed now the price of bitcoin is start moving upward, if this will continue for several months coming i think will already called a bullrun. So, if you want buy bitcoin then, buy it now while it's till in a low price.
