What is your favorite film that revolves around gambling?  A few notable movies come to mind that I enjoy: Casino, Rounders, and 21 are probably my three favorite with Casino being my top pick.  Mainly because Deniro is such a great actor and it shows how corrupt Vegas casinos really used to be.

I love Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels gambling scene. Well, it isn't a gambling movie but kinda revolves around it especially when they apply their luck and get into a fantasy mess. I agree with the Deniro being a great actor part!  ;D

I hope more will share so I can use this thread as a reference on the movies that I'm going to watch.
Admit it, it's fun to watch a gambling related movies because we are a real gambler, in a movie we learn something and it also inspires us.

There is one gambling movie I really love and I will never forget, 21.

I remember this movie all over again when it comes to gambling movies. When I saw it once on the Television, I immediately downloaded it and watch again and again and all over again. It is just great since I can relate with Ben Campbell working on his finances as a student, it is really hard to work on that, I can assure you that. It is like a student dream to be able to earn that huge amount of money in just a several nights. Some movies that I love that is not entirely about gambling but have some gambling moments are The Hangover and Focus by none other than, Will Smith.

I haven't seen many of them but I have seen Casino Royale and I think everybody else have also watched it. It is a beautiful movie but I will take reason from this post to go and check gambling movies list in the Internet. I also remember that Chinese movies regarding gambling are some of the best but a bit difficult to find them easily on the Internet. For the moment my favourite is Casino Royale but only for the moment.

I watched one movie before, it's quite an old movie related to gambling and that was a Chinese film. I barely remember the title of that movie but it seems the protagonist is facing the leader of a big gambling syndicate.

The main cast's character has a very charming and very lucky in gambling. I forgot that title but its one of the movies that I like because it has some comedy in it.

Well there is this two movies I've watched but it don't really revolve around gambling since it is just a part of the movie. That movie is the Hang Over, the first one of the three series. There is this part where Alan is gambling for completing the money they needed using the book that he read. It is amazing but for me, if that happened to me, that is a dream come true since that is not really true.

I haven't watched many movies which are only about gambling, so I can't name whis is best. I watched movies like Casino Royale, The Gambler, Lay the favourite or Maverick, but I can't say that any of these movies would stuck in my mind, maybe because I'm not gambler. Now I opened list of gambling related movies, maybe it's worth to try watch something.

The movie that I always think about when someone asks about gambling flicks is of Casino Royale, just because it was so good, but I also can recommend 21 if you haven't seen it. I liked Kevin Spacey ever since I saw him in The Usual Suspects. His role in 21 is definitely not a disappointment and the whole movie is action packed so you won't be bored. I've always been fascinated by card counting which made this movie even more enjoyable.

My favorite one is 'Molly's Game'. It's a high-rated and Oscar-nominated movie from last year about poker games. I have a friend who's really into poker, and he also enjoyed watching it. The movie is not focused on poker, though, but rather on trying to earn money on organizing poker games, but it's still nice and has lessons for gamblers as well. For instance, it shows that even the best player can lose if he/she doesn't 'crack' the strategy of the opponent. I am sure that decades from now this movie will be classic when the topic of gambling is discussed.

These two are not like traditional gambling type but more of based on Magic. 

I don't know if you call it a gambling movie but one of the best that I watched is Bugsy by Warren Beatty and Annette Bening. It was released in 1991. Movie is about Bugsy Siegel and how the Flamingo Casino resort started. It also shows gangsters like Lucky Luciano and Mayer Lansky. Movie portrays how casinos in Las Vegas started.

Some good ones are Rounders, Rain Man, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Casino and more recently Mississipi Grind.

Molly's game as well for me. As much as I like the movie Casino with Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and co. it's not really a movie about gambling. Molly's game is pretty realistic, you can get very rich in this field if you manage to become an agent.

Another movie which is pretty realistic is Runner Runner, takes place in Costa Rica, mafia involved, not a great movie per se but interesting with a lot of truth inside.

Molly's game is not really a "gambling" movie to be honest, the main premise is the woman not the game. Gambling movies have that sort of trouble to begin with, they do not provide you gambling as the main plot of the movie, they just make it a part of the movie.

If you watch it closely you will see that its about her and not the poker game she runs, it goes on to Russian mafia and all that very quickly and not really focus on the game after a while. All "gambling" movies are based on a story and not the gambling aspect directly.

All ocean movies are about stealing, 21 is not about blackjack but a young persons life troubles, Gambler is about a carefree dude getting out of debt, runner runner is about Justin Timberlake getting out of a shady casino world and many more examples. I haven't seen a proper "gambling" movie that focuses on gambling more than any other plot.

Ok, it depends on which side you are looking at things, on the side of "the house" I think Molly's game is interesting and realistic. On the side of the players, you are right, it is not the most appropriate suggestion. 100% correct about Ocean's 11, not even sure why this movie was suggested in the first place (and it is very very average if you ask me :)).

Quite an old thread which the last reply was on January of this year. It isnt bad to make some new thread regarding on this matter.

Casino Royale,which is the most favourite movie for me which looks very detailed about the casinos.And there are some movie casino in my local languages which give pretty information about cheating involves in casinos between the players.

Rounders and 21 are the best movie that I like the most, though the story is quite a bit different they do have similarities in some of the plot of the story. It tells you that playing in gambling can make you lose all of your money if you get addicted to it. Even if you cheat, gambling owners know already their weaknesses. So do not ever try to cheat on them, you will be caught.

21 and Ocean’s eleven is a great gambling movie and you can really see their how gambling works. We also have movies locally here in my place about gambling but I don’t remember the title of that one. This great movies showing that in gambling the owners will always win and those who cheat on casinos will always be caught. I wish to watch new gambling movies in the future that will tackle more about the risk, to discourage young people from gambling.

Ocean's 11 is not a gambling movie, its more of an action flick. It does take place in a casino but there is almost no gambling in it.

Casino Royale is not a gambling movie either, its just the name of the film. It does however have one gambling scene but like Ocean's 11 its more of an action flick.

In my opinion the best gambling films are 21 and Rounders, you can watch them multiple times and never get bored.

Even its not a gambling movie, 21 is still the best. It portrays how you can hack card games using only numbers, logic and probability. I love how the game works and how it ended. But it still made me think if that strategy really works or not. But to think that it really does work, my memory cannot cope up with the tactic. Sadlife. Haha.

Does Ocean's 11 fall in this category? Anyway, I love that movie especially the part where they disguised as a SWAT team and deceived the casino owner ;D (what a witty move). Adide from that, I also enjoyed God of Gamblers. It was an old movie but a classic one which not only focuses on gambling but also action scenes.

I just have 1 favorite movie which is Casino Royale.
I'm ever watch god of gambler but it's comedy so I'm prefer action movie.

Believe it or not after I watch the movie, I learn their gambling trick and make the practice on crypto gambling , it was fun for experience it !

We are the same favorite movie the Casino Royale, I like those strategy and technique using by them.

I don't how many version the movie entitled "The Gambler" I like that movie too there's a lot of actions episodes not only focus on gambling.
There's a lot of movies related to gambling, but mostly I'd like if those having a special trick to defeat the opponents.

Obviously can'y deny it casino royal movie is very fun and excitement, but i like the movie about the young man playing poker in Las Vegas i forget the little its fun and exciting movies the story between money and life.

Edward Norton & Matt Damon Cheated At A Poker Game Hosted By The Weinsteins Thanks To ‘Rounders.

That's what I found best to describe one of the best gambling movies.

Rounder is the title of this movie, a little advise if you have not seen it yet. do not miss it.

I think I haven’t seen a lot of gambling movies that are probably related to it but my favorite one is 21. That inspired me to be more risky and to know how to count cards but it’s pretty hard. I haven’t even tried to do it in an actual casino because I don’t have the proper training or something.

Mostly all the most fun and entertaining movies that has the gambling genre has something illegal in it. Lol.

Lol, God of Gamblers was a epic movie back then. I used to watch them when I was young and dream that I have the same powers to change cards, hehehe. 21 is also a good movie, specially the card counting scene. I'm sure a lot has been influence by that movie and try to break black jack games all over casino's around the world.

Oh God, I love Jim Sturgess!!!! His character is a college genius and it is so perfect fit for him.

I know! The movie itself is great and has its good plot that I really love. I often imagine myself like the math genius in the movie. Could I also pull off a very complicated stunt like what the character did? It also opened my eyes what the gambling world in Las Vegas really looks like. It made me wonder if it already happened in reality that a loophole in the game really exists. If it does, then many have already tried it and meet the fate the other characters experienced in the movie.

That kind of trick however, would not possible in online gambling (https://to.crwd.cr/cm) I think. That's because those games will surely proof from any strategy I know of. But who knows, May be, there exists a Ben Campbell among online players that is a millionaire by this time since the popularity of online gambling peaked.

I remember liking the movie of Mark Wahlberg, The Gambler. A feel good movie at the end. You can see a typical gambling addict who would risk his entire life just because of his vice. I just hope there's no turning back of his old self after resolving his debt issues. Most people have hard time of doing so.

Mine is titled as "God of Gamblers". It's because the protagonist on that movie is very smart in playing his cards. His ability although is impossible in reality, I was still wondering how rich will I be if I'm capable to do what he's doing.

Watched the trailer with a hope to watch it but did found out too old and may be those typical Chinese funny kind of movies.

I forgot the title, but the one playing is stephen chouw and cu yung fa. funny and interesting gambling films, full of tricks and intrigue. and the big gamble that happened there. it makes the storyline very interesting.

My favorite gambling movie is "Maverick" with Mell Gibson.It's a western,so it's not quite gambling related,but the main characters are poker players participating in a poker tournament somewhere in the wild west.
It's a comedy,but you could learn a little bit about how to play poker.

In fact I have a strong desire to follow the gambling films I think are controversial

franchise of God of gambler i think this is one of my favourite gambling movies among the other and it was classic movies but i do liked with Chow Yun Fat acting because he was very suitable when playing as main character and the secondly maybe Casino Royale that when James Bond won all of the money on the pot through poker game i think this is the best part of that movie

I am not watching a lots of gambling movies based on gambling but I think the Casino Royale will be most favourite for me in this category why while I'm watching it it could give you more entertainment also good idea.

In addition, it gives and gathers more ideas. When it comes to gambling, I know that stock company is will be able to consider as gambling as well and I will never ever forget the movie "Wall of Wall Street".
This is a very fantastic movie ever and you can actually see it from the reviews. People love it and a lot of people will be able to relate to the movie life is gambling, you have to try to bet and try to win. You have your money but the thing is, you will not try to bet, you won't know that you will win.

Movies do really reflects real life scenarios which a person would able to see these things might either encourage, inspired and get some ideas or even learning a lesson.
In able to get or win something in life do really need some risk to put on.

Any gambling movie doesn't fall on my mind, only gambling parts in such movies as Black Panter and Modern Family series comes on my mind. Probably it's because of they are one of latest things that I've watched.

I really like to watch the 2008 movie called 21  Another good but old movie are Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Rain Man have a good Casino gambling scene also.

I have to say Rounders as well. Great movie and great cast. I saw 21 a few months ago although the movie has been out for at least 10 years. I also liked 21 but I have to go with Edward Norton here.

I have an addictoin to see gambling movie from my childhood.i saw many gambling movie,these are  casino(1995)  Director: Martin Scorsese.Ocean's Eleven(2001).Bollywood movie  Jannat (2008) ‘Jannat’ is about a man who is just addicted to be in the world of crime and then struggles to find a better world.jannat is my favourite  gambling   movie.

I don't watch a lot of movies but I think that my favorite (from those that I have seen) is the Casino Royale.
It was a good movie with incredible gambling scenes for me and I think that most of the people have seen this movie and they liked it.

Yeah, Casino Royale of 2006 is my favorite movie, in gambling wise, it is best one. But i have no interest on any gambling type movies but however Casino Royal is top one and popular movie, especially, the moment of table poker playing that was amazed. I feel fresh whenever i watch it and it is full of thrill and moment of gambling playing, that was a superb.

Its god of gambling I think, chow yun fat and stephen chow does have a lot of films about gambling and a lot of comedy in it,

This is an italian movie from 70'.
I think this is one of the best image of horse racing in italy and people that could be around the races.
Actually this it's a quite dead sport in my country. A lot of rigged runs, doping, even mafia, have definitely take down this sport.
Only few events remains, but the crowd that you can see on the movie, it's just a memory of the past.

21 is my favorite gambling movie. It influenced me on how to play cards and count what cards are already thrown out. I don't play poker or black jack, There is a local game here in the Philippines called Tong-its and it is a great advantage if you are good in counting cards because you can strategize what card you want to keep holding so the other player will not win.

I think casino is the most famous of all gambling movies, there’s rarely anyone who like gambling movie that won’t watch this movie. I remember Rober De Niro and Joe Pesci star in the movie. It’s an old movie, and I liked it when I watched it back then, although it’s not my favorite.

My favorite of all time gambling movie is The Gambler. That’s one movie that has broken down the harm gambling addiction can cause to an individual. I literally told myself I will never suffer addiction after watching this movie. And it has helped me discipline myself while gambling.

You have to try at least once, it can also help to relieve some stress in you. I suggest to watch 21, fot me this is the best gambling movie where you will realize the greed of other people in gambling. I miss the old days right now and i’m gonna watch more gamblig movies soon.

Casino Royale is my favorite as well. Because I am more in to action and thriller movies and hardly ever watch movies with gambling as the central theme. I watched Casino Royale because it was an action movie, but enjoyed the scenes in which gambling was in the background.

I have watched a lot of interesting  gambling movies like The sting, Casino Royale, the cooler, Rounder’s, but my favorite of them all is The Gambler. That’s the movie that has really shown the destructive aspect of gambling when done without control. James Caan played the role of a university professor who was addicted to casino gambling, I watched how caans character plunge into self-destruction and his mental  started became dangerous in the movie. He started borrowing money, all because he was enjoying the game.

The movie  has been able to show the extent addicted gamblers can go to keep themselves in the game even though it is not safe. I think the aim is to advice against gambling addiction.

I love to watch movie,my favourite gambling movie name "jannat".Gamblers have a different mindset them some and they need help most of the time. The worse thing for a person just starting out is to see people win because they believe they are going to do the same thing and even more. My favorite gambling movie is 21 that is starring by Jim Sturgess as Ben Campbell, a mathematics major that was accepted into Harvard Medical School but cannot afford the $300,000 tuition, so for he can afford the his tuition fee he joined a group with teenagers that are good in mathematics too.

I also like and have watched the gambling movie "21" because you can really relate the real life situation on that movie like if a person started to experience great wealth he forgot he's true self that he becomes greedy and selfish because of money, that is why before you started to gamble you should learn first to be responsible to yourself for you not to face any consequences. The best for me was 21 and one of my favorite gambling movies. It relates to my part of life, it reminds me of high school when me and my buddies cheat on card games involving real money. ive watch a little scene's of god of gamblers before and i have a feeling that the movie was nice . and now that i see that there was also a parody movie of god of gamblers ,  i think im gonna check that out on weekend . im not really a fan of gambling genre movie but im a fan of comedy movie's especially if the movie was came from  stephen chow . thanks btw for the suggestion  .

I've watch the God of Gamblers before and it was an awesome movie. There is part 2 of that wherein he have an apprentice. I'm guessing if really there is someone able to have those items to cheat in a real casino.

I like God of Gamblers too, but I am very impressed with the Chow Yun Fa acting. He was acting like a God of Gamblers, and he can trick his opposite. Stephen Chow was a good actor too, and I like him too especially if he was pretending to be the God of Gamblers, but in the end, he is one of the student of God of Gamblers, Chow Yun Fa. That was an old gambling movie, but I like to watch over and over.

The best scene I like from God of Gamblers movie was when Chow Yun Fa shows his card to every people, and he can be able to win the game. Btw, Andy Lau has been a God of Gamblers too, and I like him as well.

I would be sounding stupid if is say that I have never watched any gambling movie but sincerely I haven’t. There are a lot of movie that interest me. I am a professional gambler and I have been gambling for many years but I just don’t see it interesting.

My friends have always told me to try and watch Casinole Royale. Maybe that is the oldest gambling movie because I started hearing about it since over 6years and even till date, I still hear about it. Maybe I would make that the first gambling movie I would watch.  I don’t even know what lesson this movie teaches that everyone is so particular about watching. I prefer action movies all day.

Saint john of Las Vegas is such an interesting movie. I enjoyed every bit of it maybe because of the good players it featured. I like the sneaky sincerity of the writer towards compulsive gamblers attitude towards recovery. Too many skilled players in one movie with admirably offbeat gags that will always manage to generate any laugh.

That’s the first gambling movie I have watched and its quite interesting but I have been introduced to others and I am currently watching the Gambler. It’s another good gambling movie anyone would like to watch, I like movies that are educative. Anyone who has watched that movie will be careful not to become addicted to gambling.

I don't really watch gambling movies buy recently, I have watched 'The Gambler'. Since it's the only gambling-related movie I've watched so far, I don't know if I'd already consider that as my favorite gambling movie. :D

But anyways, it is an interesting movie. It's about an English professor, named Jim Bennett, who happens to be a high-stakes gambler. Based from what I saw, he does not try to win whem he gambles. It seems like his primary goal is to lose because he always doubles up on every single hand which is a sure way of losing everything in just a snap of a finger. Bennett bets it all and then offers his life as collateral. He tried to borrow money from his wealthy mother. Unfortunately, she refused which drove Bennett to borrow from a loan-shark just to pay-off his debt of more than a quarter of a million dollars to the owner of an illegal gambling den.

At the end of the movie, Bennett said that, "I am not a gambler." Maybe because of the fact that true gamblers would like to win and have an aptitude of playing cards. But he is the opposite. He was seeking the loss.

Every person has any favorite movie. And I also have several favorite gambling movies. That's really awesome.
