Bitcoin prices dropped to make the altcoin price to be very low and even 500% lower than the price of ico, which makes many investors experience a lot of losses. not a few investors who become poor because of it. is it true that bitcoin affects the price of all altcoins ???

it is true that with this down prices many people suffer and if some one not says it can not be hide from any one and investors came for a reason if they are not satisfied they sold their investment and they go for other opportunities in the past few months they are very disappointed and they know that the potential of growth is stopped they want to sell if they faces losses they are still ready.

All altcoins follow bitcoin in general. That's because the whole market is still so dependent on it. I wouldn't say that maybe people have become poor because of BTC. If they were irresponsible enough to invest all their money in to something then they were going to become poor either way, if bitcoin didn't get them something else would. They became poor because of their own actions.

Investors should not depend upon crypto prices. The best to do for your income is try to have multiple sources of it. And if you want income from investment only, it is fine, but you should invest in other not crypto stuff too. To make sure that in case a very long bear market happens like this is turning out, you will not care for the loss and can wait it out.

bitcoin indeed affects the price of all other alt coins, that is why whenever bitcoin price goes down, the price of other alt coins goes down. It is a pity so many investors have lost so much this period, some ended up being poor as they sold all they had to invest in bitcoin and other altcoins whose value has reduced greatly but then, better days are ahead.

The price of every coins just based on their demand so bitcoin have nothing to do with the altcoins prices but when people investing on bitcoin then more people will come to increase on altcois as well so simple logic behind it and yes bitcoin indirectly affect altcoins prices.

I feel poor with crypto currency if it happens because of lack of patience and confidence I think you might be careless

Well you only loose if you sell at a loss, obvious statement i know but so
many people are bound to have lost big time out of fear and not being
knowledgeable about crypto trends.

Well, they knew about the risks before joining I assume. Investing on crypto currencies comes along with high risks. They were willing to take the risks to make those handsome profits. Now it is totally useless to regret over those losses.
And yes, the price of bitcoin does affect the price of altcoins. When we see the price of bitcoin falling, we will see most of the altcoin dropping sharply. The same is true when the price rises. But in this case, the price of altcoin rises slowly compared to bitcoin.

1. The word "investors" lately become so low that any unemployed or uneducated person who bought cryptocurrency can use that name. Investors should not be poor for their investment failure since they usually had many profitable businesses.

I agree a lot of investors have suffered with massive losses which was never expected, the hope for the investors everytime comes only in the last quarter but BTC failed this time which was a big disappointment however things will settle down quickly and I hope the market will turn hot again.

This has happened with the new investors.  Investors who invested at the end of 2017 are at huge losses because they are the ones who invested at highest prices.  Old investors are already in profit as they sold when prices we're at their peaks.

I don't think if investors will be poor because of crypto. Because naturally investor must be ready to any condition of their investment. If someone loss and regret about their investment, i think he should study more.

Sometimes they are not interconnected but when the price of bitcoin starts to fall there will be panic in the market so many investors also sell their altcoins.

There's a sure thing that bitcoin is the major mover of the price of the market and if its because of bitcoin these alts will not move. If the price moving upwards, these alts will also do the same thing.

It doesn't mean that when the price of bitcoin is falling you will become poor. I think you will become with bitcoin if the price become 0 or become bubble. On the other hand, the price of bitcoin rise soon so to all people who have bitcoin that you can become rich.

That is really the reality affecting now, not just the investors but almost all that are connected to cryptocurrency ,are affected by this current market falldown , the bounty projects ,the ICOs ,the members ,the customers are all affected  by  the current price falldown of coins.

A few days ago I read an article from my country that due to market crypto is getting worse and that make more unemployment. It reminds me that there are many traders who resign from their office and choose traders as the main profession. But for whales maybe financial can still be covered even if they loss because I'm sure they have a lot of strategy. That must be so worried about not them but small trader. We should be more thorough and careful invest in altcoin because if it fell then there would be no funds for backup from the bottom.

Now about those losses on ICO's, most of it is because they are not really investors. Investing takes time and it doesnt just end when the token is listed in an exchange. That is a trader's habit, not an investor.

2018 is a big reason why you should only invest what you can afford to lose and you should do a research and to study the right time to invest and to exit, there are a lot of losers now but I'm pretty sure 2019 is a big turn around from what happened this year just like what a big turn around 2018 from what happened in 2017.

Yes, the prices of all coins are falling and they are all significantly lower than the price that was during the ICO. But if we keep our coins until the market recovers, we will not lose our money. you can not become poor by investing in bitcoin. you can become poor by being a newbie who refuses to use his brain and chooses to listen to FUD and hype. basically someone who is moving like a leaf with the wind!

Bitcoin thankfully gathers everyone together like a tribe making world smaller so its easier to make money, while people are out there trying to make money with trading I have made more bitcoins thanks to working than many of them.

Well, If you buy at the top then it will surely make you poor when you start selling it in the current market. I guess you are not yet lost until you sell it on exchanges and receive less profit out of it. Be sure to wait for the bull market to come ahead.

Yeah most of the coin depend on the bitcoin price because usually the trade happened between the coin and bitcoin, and there are many investors stated that they have lost alot of money because of the bitcoin dropping, some even already left crypto world, and seems like the market situation hasn't recover yet, so we still need to prepare for the worse

Altcoin market depends on Bitcoin because every law in the world is made with Bitcoin in mind. If a government bans Bitcoin don't think it will allow altcoins to be traded. If Bitcoin fails all altcoins will follow.

yeah, coz of dumping, right now that is what's happening. I really wanna think right now that it is better to wait for exchanges before getting a crypto coin or token that you wanna hodl because you can get potentially pretty much lower price than the ico. But for me that's not always the case. Their is always give and take. Coz before, whenever an ico finishes and hit exchanges it sky rockets.
When you wanna sell make sure you wont regret it if the price goes higher. and when you wanna hodl, make sure you wont sell it if the price goes lower. That's it. Coz we can never know the future.

I lost almost all my portfolio wealth this year because I didn't sell in January my altcoins when I should have when they had reached an all-time high. I am the only one to blame for this fiasco because I gave in to all the FOMO and positive news everyone was saying back then but wasn't looking at the reality on the ground, that shorting with exchange slike Bitfinex and Bitmex would become a reality and that the Bitcoin Futures were going to make a few whales very rich and most of us hodlers very poor. I wish I could go back now and change everything but it is impossible now so got to hope that at least I can grow a few bags before the next bull run and in doing so want to help my family.

Yes, BTC does affect the price of everything else, and to a smaller extent, eth does too.

The reason is because btc is the only coin that can be easily converted to fiat/cash.
Almost all of the alts require that you either buy btc or eth first, then purchase the alt using the btc/eth.
There are some places where you can directly buy xrp and ltc with fiat, but they don't have much trading pairs with other alts.

So the worth of your alt is dependent on btc because when you wanted to sell your alt, you first convert it to btc then sell the btc.
That's why prices on coinmarketcap can be misleading.
To see the true value of your alts, you need to pay attention to how much btc it is worth.
Then, you have to see how much the btc is selling for in fiat.

Yes, the price of almost all altcoins depends on bitcoin. This is not a healthy market. The crypto decentralized features should give them more independence, but the situation is the opposite, altcoins have nothing. Any independence, when Bitcoin goes up, they follow, and when Bitcoin falls, they still follow!
