Title: Who later won in the price of Bitcoin in December 2018?
Post by: Isiaka208 on December 26, 2018, 12:18:58 PM
There were plenty of speculations in January, when all was rosy. But even in the bear market, many still had the believe that we would see 50,000, some 20,000 and some said 5,000 but here we are at 3787 close to the end of December.

It's hard to predict what will happen at the beginning of January, but I am sure that it will not exceed 10K even if there is a change.
whether the following month will increase or decrease is very difficult to ascertain.

I see a lot of analysis out there, I also see it again at the beginning of each year Bitcoin always gives a deadly surprise, I hope it's not as deadly as in early 2018  ;D

Whatever goes up exponentially has to come down even quicker. It is difficult to speculate and make correct prediction. I never thought that bitcoin would reach over 10k. I was expecting correction and I sold some of my assets earlyer. But other than that I bag holded my long term investiment and I am not sad about it. To be honest I enjoy to see this correction. We needed this after that crazy hype and bitconneeeecct :)
Unfortunately there is no way to predict future so who knows where will we endup next but this is the exciting part in crypto.

I am sure that at the end of 2018 bitcoin will be able to reach $ 5k, I see there will be a little pump towards the end of the year. and I won't believe anymore with $ 50k. wtf  :o

Your prediction is absolutely comes true, But Bitcoin have high potential cryptocurrency so it will reach 100k USD also and take too much time to reach so no one is believe my word. I hope 2030 we will see the different result in bitcoin and it will be globalized in as soon as possible because slowly many countries accepting the Bitcoin.

Being somewhere around 3700 USD during the end of December isn't that bad.
I remember that, last month, there were many bearish analysis in the forum claiming that the bitcoin price will crash to 1500 USD at the end of the year.Even though I don't mind such crash to happen,we don't see such market behaviour.

We dont know. Because I don't care who won to their prediction the only need to do is to priority on how to increase the value again of the bitcoin. Everyone will win once the bitcoin increase again the value very high because will get more money.

I also believe that bitcoin will reach $50,000, but it takes many years maybe 3 or 4? and not just bitcoin all cryptos will increase at the highest price. If you want to become millionaire then it's time to buy bitcoin at these cheap price and hold for long term if you have patience.

The whales won the market, they have won huge amount of money in 2018 by hyping the cryptos too much in 2017 so now the recovery phase will get started and it looks like we are already in maybe the prices of $20K or $50 even $100K will possible in the next run.

Of all the speculators who claim that they have a magic crystal ball, cointelegraph made an article about all of the predictions made this 2018. And Todd Gordon speculated that the price can drop to $4000. It wasn't the exact amount, but it's close enough.

"Almost six months before the “crypto winter,” when most of the enthusiasts still maintained high-rate forecasts, Todd Gordon from TradingAnalysis.com clearly predicted Bitcoin's drop to $4,000. Moreover, the coin has recently even dipped below $3,500.

However, the second part of his prediction is still unclear. Will Bitcoin recover in 2019 and surpass the $10,000 mark yet again? Only time will tell."

There's a second part on Gordon's prediction and that's for 2019.

Well it's just a predictions mate because of this long bear season of the market , which is in my opinion there's a possibility as well to make a pump because market is already at the bottom stage and it's very stagnant . But probably not too much because of some causes nowadays that suddenly exist to manipulate the growth rate.

Of course that is just a predictions and we can’t really tell what would be the price of bitcoin in the future. Yes, we might end this year at a lower price but at least there’s still a good future for all of us since bitcoin and altcoins will not die easily. You only need to believe on bitcoin, but make no expectation and you will see your future with bitcoin, we will continue our journey way up high soon.

Maybe you have not noticed it but we are already at the end of 2018, there are only two days left for the year to end and the price is below 4000 dollars so I find very unlikely that we are going to see a movement of 1000 dollars to reach the price that you are looking, however the last days have been good for some coins in the market of cryptocurrencies especially for ethereum which has been one of the coins most affected by the bear market.

January was close to ATH. So for sure most predictions were far from where we are now. Maybe in January was a bit more realistic. But in last November and December really rare would call Bitcoin price at start of 2019 at $3500.

most of the "predictions" by the time price was setting the ATH were too caught up in the hype so they all threw big numbers at each other as their "predictions". the funny thing is that we are in the same situation today as we were back then but in the opposite direction! people are too caught up in the reverse-hype that they are throwing lower numbers as their "prediction" at each other :D

in any case, you only "win" if you act logically in this market not irrationally based on emotions. and more importantly if you act at the correct time, for example selling before the drop is concluded instead of selling when the drop has been over for a long time! or buying when there is blood on the streets instead of FOMO buying when the rise is already on the way or at the ATH!
everything else including the "predictions" are just noise.

There are plenty of trading sessions left before we conclude the year 2018. I mean you are too early to say that we are going to finish up 2018 in ~$3700 levels. Being a hard-core bitcoin believer, I am still expecting prices to rally toward $5000 or at least above $4500 levels. That may have possibilities when some whales will be getting into new year parties and some other whales may decide to surprise us on new year eve (just full of my way of speculation and act as per your own ;D).

If you go for checking trending trends around new year, usually by January 2nd or 3rd we do get big positive markets. Hopefully, history may repeat this year too.

All of the predictions from known experts have been incorrect. I would say that it is going to trade with minor fluctuations for the next fortnight until we get closer to the bakkt. $4000 is a reasonably comfortable price, at least better than a death spiral

In retrospective it is very funny to remember those times when the price of bitcoin was skyrocketing and experts were giving out predictions each one more outrageous than the previous one, if someone gave a prediction that bitcoin was going to reach 30000 someone appeared and gave a prediction that bitcoin will reach a price of 40000 because that was the only way to attract viewers to their comments and now we're seeing the opposite.

We are now in the year 2019 and you can see that the price of bitcoin does not reach the price of $5000 in the end of 2018. $50000 is possible to happen but we to wait longer time where there will be another bull run that might happen in this year or in the year of 2020.

All of the predictions from known experts have been incorrect.

There's no such thing as experts in this space, but I've seen some good predictions. Back in 2014, Tim Draper predicted $10K+ by 2017 and he was right. In the summer of last year, Arthur Hayes predicted $3,000-$5,000 which came true last month (although he has now revised the target even lower). Lucif (from this forum) made some incredible calls in his day: he called the April 2013 top, the July 2013 bottom, the December 2013 top, predicted a multi-year bear market in 2014 and then the 2017 bubble.

Most predictions will be wrong, but credit where credit is due. :)

Because at that time of their prediction, Bitcoin is still at it's peaked and those so-called "experts" think that the price can still go up even though all the showings of a bubble has been in front of their face but still, they maintained their position. Some of them have adjusted their predictions though, but it didn't take away the fact that they call out ridiculous price prediction when all the facts say that a imminent bearish trend is awaiting in 2018, LOL.

Everyone who believes in blockchain and Bitcoin technology is investing in the long term and is waiting for $50,000 or much more, only when someone wants to earn quick, thinking about such short deadlines, which unfortunately ends just like the end of 2018 - very bad. Let's hope that 2019 will be better for short-term investors.

It's difficult to predict a highly volatile market as the price will depend to the actual supply and demand of the market. Many have confidence that they will predict that way but no one did it correctly. Yeah it's a speculative investment those people will predict to create hype or impact to a certain coin but the bearish market had been too much for last year.

I think the "experts" are more like people who have a business in this space.
I mean they are still not "experts" but I wouldn't trust a person who just traded bitcoin or crypto for a while however I would listen a bit more carefully if a person who has been running a mining operation for 4 years now.

Hence, it means if the person talking is a crypto business owner he could be considered "expert" even tough he definitely has no upper advantage of any of us in price estimates. It just gives them a credibility that none of us can prove. You or I can't really show people what our estimates is and why we could be right and who we are to make that guess, but those people can.

I wouldn't invest into anything they say neither but I would at least "read" it instead of not even read it from other people. That's what I call an expert and not expert, if I read it than it must be from an expert.
