As we draw to a close of 2018 and the new year comes in it has been a roller coaster year for bitcoin,  
With the long lasting hang-over from the dizzy heights of 19k to the never ending stream of attacks against users and wallets and exchanges I think as a community we should start to focus on more security applications to help prevent this sort of bad press in 2019.

Something that should stand out proud to all the long time members here is how strong the community here is together and what can be achieved with handwork, networking and the faith of the loyal legends and staff on the forum.

In the mining world we saw the results of greed and forks and started to see the seedy underbelly of "Big Business" wanting to edge in and take over, We saw Bitmain play games with miners on a large scale all things that should make people take note and understand that Bitcoin is Bitcoin and forks take away from bitcoin and the community should work to ensure that we stay focused and maintain Bitcoin to ensure it is always the leader of the pack.

Well, 2018 was dramatic, but I wish for stability in 2019.

Its my first time to witness a very tough year for cryptocurrency because I got in when the price was skyrocketing ,2018 is a very challenging year but I'm glad its finally gone and I'm still alive ,more incoming hopes the is year 2019

2019 will be the year of slow recovery for bitcoin.Let's hope that all the anti-BTC whales(faketoshi and Ver) had sold all their btc holdings,so they can't dump the bitcoin price again.The bitcoin core blockchain is going just fine and all we need is just more trust and faith in bitcoin.

we again started the new year with positive vibes for bitcoin. Last year was not good for the crypto market and we have seen many ups and down in the crypto market.  But still knows bitcoin has huge potential to rise back anytime and expecting this year we will see bullish move in bitcoin So I would continue to focus on bitcoin and on the crypto market.

The year of 2018 is one of the worst year for me simply because I am holder and I suffer big losses because of bear market. I really hope that this year 2019 we can face experience another bull run which I can earn all my losses from bear market that happen last year. I hope we can see the end of bear market.

You do all realize that a new year has no significance whatsoever? It may be a big psychological thing for a lot of people but the markets don't give a shit about that. Btc won't start doing well just because it's a new year.

2018 bitcoin is full of drama, haha
half a year with the best price and half a year with bad prices, but hopefully in 2019 this will be the beginning of the increase in bitcoin again

For majority of the 2018 bitcoin was at its most stable in value, after the price bubbled up late 2017, the price quickly corrected dropping rapidly during the first two months of 2018 and then there was sustained stability, up until the last two months where the price crashed down.

Nothing we haven’t seen before.

It’s the natural cycle of bitcoin over several years, rinse & repeat. We will now begin a slow recovery over 1-2 years before the next bull run.

Currently we have a very huge prize for one Bitcoin i dont think there will come mutch investors.

it was no rollercoaster year, it was simply a crash year, and it wont be the last one. bitcoins hype is just a bigger version of the doggecoin hype.

2018 was a very difficult year for earnings as there was a correction but I think that in 2019 it will be more favorable for crypto-currency and investments. As I observe the market has become more stable in recent days.

In 2018 we learn a lot and test our full patience. But for 2019 the year is hopeful and the learning phase continues to be done to get the results as expected.

Those security breaches are problem for all the crypto, bitcoin users, if there is no good protection you could lose interest on being involved in it.
Developing improved security systems is important for users but hackers will not sleep either. It is the never ending battle between those two...

2018 had a two half times for me. In firs six month I haven`t been active at all and was activated in second six month period. Overall it wasn`t been stressful for me but I do have some savings that I would like to grow up in the future. Doesn`t need to be in this year period but surely it would be nice if it does.

2018 was the correction year after a very inflated 2017. The only way

In my own way I believe 2018 was just to see those who definitely are strong in the Crypto market. With all the drama bitcoin pull up many projects died off and many Still remain strong. Now we are in 2019 I believe those projects that could survive the Bearish market will make a difference.

Definitely 2018 was really a difficult one, and believe me many dropped out of the market while many are coming in. Is really a reggae year for many projects and I believe 2019 will make a difference we just have to keep fingers crossed.

Yes the year 2018 was a mix of both good and bad days but compared to the month of December last year and the entire 2018 the value of bitcoin was no where near to what it was in December last year, let's hope this year should be a good year for crypto.

2018 was an experience year for me. I have seen huge peak of Bitcoin and ETH price and the end the bottom price that has given me huge sufferings. I will remember 2018 until my death. From the past now i have gathered experience in trade, holding Bitcoin and ETH.

Indeed, in 2018 there were many joys and sorrows, various kinds of events took place and until now I still survive to get wisdom this year. Passing through the tough times of last year will be strong for this year, and I think the market is starting to improve and has an improvement that brings us luck.

Well for me 2018 is the first time I saw that was became the worst things happened in the world of ico bounty project, were most of it turned into scam project in the end. Only few of them became good anyhow after their project was done, and also its my first time to witnessed the bearish has been done for almost 1 year where bull run is not yet happening too.

the worst year for Bitcoin in 2018 is over and now entering 2019, we won't know what will happen with Bitcoin. whether the price can grow high or decrease, we will see what drama will happen with this digital currency. I hope that by 2019 this is a good year for all coins in cryptocurrency.

Unfortunately 2018 will always be remembered for the year with the biggest monetary drop in the price of Bitcoin's history. <Not the highest percentage drop>

I think 2019 will be an interesting year for cryto generally and for Bitcoin particularly, as it's still the engine of the crypto market.

2017 was bullish, 2018 fully bearish ... I see 2019 as a mix of both.

The year 2018 is indeed a year that has many thrilling events and almost in the last two years it becomes heart gymnastics and red crying.

There is something significant missing from this list. How about the bitcoin cash war which started the downfall? This battle split the miners, reduced difficulty, and then killed the price of bitcoin as a result

Bitcoin cash didnt started the war , infact bch did even help bitcoin to increase because people tend to buy more btc so that they can also accumulate an equal amount of fork coins or bch  .  forks arent bad because they are only a normal phenomenon that happens on cryptos .


The year 2018 might be over but the trauma that he left to us will always be remembered and now that we are on 2019 most us including me are cant still move on  but lets hope that this year will now be a better year for the cryptos .  

im not saying that the price will now rise and wont experience a downfall anymore .  sure it can because cryptos were always be volatile but im hopping that the fluctuations will remain equal  , so that every body will be happy  .

Yes, there are many dramas about Bitcoin that happened in 2018. and in 2018 I experienced a significant decline in asset value.
I hope that in 2019 Bitcoin will grow and can be better than 2018.

I agree that 2018 was full of drama, a lot of investors losing huge sum of money, Bitcoin was caught in a bad market situation, hopefully the bull run will start to run and there will be more stability in 2019, don't hope too much for the rising but really hope that in 2019 the price won't drop too drastically, 2018 was really a huge correction year

To be honest, I am very happy that 2018 ended already, because I really had enough of this bear market. I know that the new year does not necessarily mean change, but I feel better about it, that we can start building something from scratch, and I hope that investors think similarly. It allows me to think positively and I wish everyone the same!

Well it was one hell of  year. What started out with high hopes ended with major losses but hopefully, a lot of lessons as well. Many people are quite happy it's over but we can't be too sure that a new year would start a different trend. Again, we should all learn from the lessons that last year taught us.

Same feelings that i thought from you 2018 is a big mistake for lot of people because they expecting to continue to pump from 2017 to 2018 is not happen from. What happen is pump to 2017 and dump to 2018.

2018 was a bad year for Bitcoin. But I believe that 2019 will be a good year for Bitcoin. I believe the price of Bitcoin will increase a lot in 2019. It is my belief that the joy of this growth will make us suffer all previous hardships. I wish Bitcoin's best wishes.

for 2018, maybe bitcoin can be defeated but you don't judge bitcoin for 2019, maybe in 2019 bitcoin can rise from its sleep and make many people regret deeper because they can't control their patience not to sell bitcoin at cheap prices.

You might be right with what you said due alot of crypto currency investors/traders losses but you also need to look at the bright side of the year 2018 market because it actually open doors for a new maximum profit before the new ATH and next halving.

That is very true , not in 2018 is all worst ,there are also ,good things cryptocurrency and the bitcoin technology has also brought good things for everyone, but there are also odds that hit the cruptocurrency world ,which is the falldown of price value of coins in the market, but we will just stay positive for I believe it will recover soon  and we hope it happens in 2019.

Beside security side, bitcoin suffering on the price and its lead others coin drop the price. Not only for bitcoin, 2018 is not a good year for whole crypto but i am optimistic 2019 will be a good year for cryptomarket including bitcoin.

I supported what you said because last generate a fresh opportunity for crypto opportunist and experienced trader to make profit. However, I dont see any reason why last year was because the market will always surge to another ATH sooner or later and what people need is to be wise and be patience.

Indeed in 2018 price has been changing and this journey is so long since start every year price increase and decrease but in 2018 it was so unstable. Anyhow no need to lose hope I am sure now in 2019 everything will get better. Investors are investing which is making the market good and this has start moving high that’s why I am sure 2019 will be great year.

Yes 2018 was bad for Bitcoin. We have seen huge fluctuations from $20000 to $3100. There was huge rumors, panic, ban news, hacking factors in 2018. All had huge impact on Bitcoin price. So, we think we have passed that bad year for Bitcoin and entered into a new year 2019. It will be a good year for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

In 2018, many fakes news and its bring the price drop very deep. Beside that, i think the issue of security of wallet is dominant because few exchanger got hacked by hackers. 2018 is not a good year for cryptocurrency market but we hope 2019 will be a good year for bitcoin price

Yes some on the list I still remember up to this day. At least we survived the storm specially November where we see Bitcoin bottom (for now) and it's a difficult year for everyone. Of course everyone wishes that 2019 will will a lot of good news and that we can move further away from the last bottom and eventually see a recovery in the $6K-$0K at least.

Right, new year we need to be more positive and optimistic about the price value of bitcoin that it will rise and shine again.  Last year was not good for us cause the value is up and down. I believed this year bitcoin will rise and give us good profit .

Aside from being worst year in bitcoin I also see many failed ICO projects. I also want to experience another bull run so I can trade well. I have some losses from bitcoin because I just have few amount of bitcoin and the rest is in other cryptocurrencies. So, I think I will wait more time and I will stay positive in the price of bitcoin and in other cryptocurrencies.

It was definitely the worst bit of the year 2018 for the crypto market. Almost everyone who continued to trade lost 80 percent. They're still fighting to get back. 2019 hopefully it will be a good year for everyone.

It would be helpful if people explained the reasining behind their predictions. Saying "15000 I promiss" doesn't really explain anything useful. Anyone could say any figure they like, and making a promise without back up is, after all, an empty promise.

I supported what you said because alot people just make predictions which are baseless while some make predictions which there's nothing to trigger the surge in price. Besides, the crypto market is not looking to investors so there no reason for the market to clinch to the mentioned price range and this might happen only if BAKKT and ETF were implement cause it will trigger more investors.

Bitcoin price From 20K to 3K, the journey was not good at all! But the year is over now, Let's hope for a good year for the cryptocurrency!

2018 already over and i think its not good year for bitcoin price. But i think we should entering 2019 with optimistic because BAKKT will start and bitcoin will listed in Nasdaq. Hope bitcoin can bounce back in 2019 and reach highest price again

I think this year will be more useful for lots of people to get back to the normal position so it can be useful for lots of people to get their previous profit also so you can definitely wait and watch for the next movie of cryptocurrency feed it will be definitely helpful for my future for us to be more peaceful.

This year started no difference than 2018 and we did not see any big movements in bitcoin price / volume in the first 60 days of this year. I am worried if this year will be same like last year as there is no signs of bull market until now.

For me, the year 2018 is one of the best time to invest in bitcoin especially the price is very cheap and affordable. Even some people lose huge capital from their investment but for it is an opportunity to invest more. Many investors have become disillusioned with the ICO due to the large amount of scam. In 2018, even really good and strong projects often could not collect the necessary funds due to the general state of the cryptocurrency market and even more aggravated the amount of scam in the ICO. Security of cryptocrescents is certainly a very important thing, but I would like to note that it often happens that the person himself is to blame for the fact that he lost money. Many people simply do not fulfill basic security requirements.

now we have entered years 2019 and it seems that on this year it can be said that the crypto market is still in a stable state because it has not experienced a sharp decline again. in 2018 the price Bitcoin continues to decline and hopefully in 2019 it will be a good year for the crypto market, the price of Bitcoin or Altcoin can recover and rise high again.

Ok so we're past the 3 months already and it seems that the price is not going down and we've peaked around $4200 last month (although short lived).

There could be lots of things to happen in the next 9 months and let's just be optimistic that at least at stable $5k could be attain in the next 4 months and last quarter maybe it's possible to reach 5 digits again so let's see how this 2019 will be.

I guess people need to have more patient this year because we are not going to see the price increase in a short time. We are still at $3952 this day, but we have a chance to see the price will go to up again because I see that line was on the way to increase. But I don't know if this day, the price can increase higher or not. Just hope that the price can stay at that level or increase for a little price until the weekend and the next week, the price will go to the higher price.

Bitcoin will never be left out, though there are new coins existing now but bitcoin is still the most invested coins, and we can obviously see that.
It's never an end of bitcoin, we should learn from the past, people are calling it dead but it has increase many times, so the dump is just a normal thing because after the dump, the recovery will follow and of course price will pump.

It is surely fool to think about end of bitcoin because it will never end and it keep on rising with time, so those who are real investor and who know if price falls, it is our benefit to get at low price, there are so many people who waits years to years to have this opportunity buying at red, I also bought in 2018 now I am holding and waiting patiently.

I think the situation is improving. People were very disappointed last year, but this was something that we couldn't avoid. Actually, the situation in 2018 was not good at all, in my case. I am a personal Bitcoin Holder but i could not take my losses for the past 1 year. That's right 2018 is a year full of drama, where prices are always hung, scammers, long-standing markets, and many investors lose. But since the beginning of April, it looks like 2019 will be a better year of change where in 2018 we have passed a lot of dramas

2018 without a doubt was a rough year for crypto ivnestors.  I've seen suicide hotlines on crypto reddits and forums and people doing very irrational things because of the falling prices.  So far things are starting to look up but we still have a long way to go to reach those all time highs.

It's alright, we have survive that year and we are in a good year now.
Bitcoin is improving and recovering this year, although price is still cheap but it's alright, the most important is that we are growing now.

For me it is really over about 2018. The most challenging year for the bitcoin. On that year all was thinking that was the end of bitcoin. So many challenges that most of bitcoiner are just suffering from loss and most of them sell their bitcoin that they hold even they are going to loss because they lose hope on that time because of bitcoin's value. And now bitcoin is already rising I think this is the right time to hold. More merchant are now acceopting bitcoin. So that means that people are now embracing bitcoin industry.
