Title: Upgrading to 841's Help
Post by: KamanCrypto on December 31, 2018, 09:24:47 PM
HI ALL,
Need a little help here. I am upgrading my 741's to 841's but understand I have to update controller software too. This is where I need the help. I got all my other stuff ready to mine just needed to set up controller with network and pool details and away I went mining. Now that I have some 841's i need help to flash avalon controller (it is what I read) and then install new 841 firmware. (I'm guessing the miners all have the latest firmware update on them). I could please use a tutorial on how to flash sd and install appropriate firmware using a mac computer. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Well, a simple search of the Canaan.io website leads to the Avalon how-to (https://canaan.io/question/how-do-i-connect-an-avalonminer-721-and-avalonminer-controller-including-raspberry-pi-1-2-and-3/)...

Only change to those instructions for the 821/841 is to get the A841 RasPi image from here (https://canaan.io/downloads/software/avalon841/openwrt/latest/).
