The ico trend follows the market chart, if there will be a big bullrun to create alot of FOMO and that will push the ico market at the same time. Remember ico market depends on the hype and that will be so easy to take a conclusion if ico market was following crypto market.

I believe is better ICO market in 2017 most of the ICO are successfully launching their ICO price in the market because at that time crypto market was not suffering of falling their prices and many ICO market are not been affected of it.

We can see ICO market has fallen with those details. With the market condition, most ICOs have not given a good return on investment to the investors. I don't think the market condition is not the only thing to fall ICOs. Because there are so many scam ICO projects. Then investors are not going to invest in ICO projects.

if I see, in 2019 maybe ICO will be crowded again,
Why? because the market will start to rise,
because if the market rises and the price improves, ICO will also be crowded.
because ICO also depends on market prices,
if the market price falls, investors also have to think 5 times to take part in the ICO.

inversely proportional. if in 2017 the average ico market rises rapidly, in 2018 it fell dramatically. this could be the effect of the crypto market fall, too, because investor interest in funding to ico was also affected by crypto market conditions at the same time.

The success rate of ICO decreased greatly after each year. In 2018 it seems that ICO has not been noticed too much. And no investor wants to lose money with it, so in 2019 I think something will replace ICO.

I think that ICO is still at the beginning of its way to success. To achieve it, needs two things: investors education and legal regulations.
Education is needed, so that investors, do not blindly believe every man met that his idea will succeed. They must learn to analyze ICO.
Regulations are needed to protect investors' money from scammers and later to punish these scammers.
When these two things are achieved, the ICO will have an open road to success.

The difference is that ICOs became stale because of how many ICOs were created and that most of them were scams. 2017 was the year of the ICOs because people are only focused on few that have potential and that the budget of investors was probably focused on those ICOs only.

There will be no stopping ICO this year, imho. We will see the same pattern, lots of useless projects coming along, scams will continue, but there will be a lot of successful and good projects to come.

I tend to believed that the market is not yet saturated, there will be projects that can have real life usage specially in the field of medicine, renewable energy sources, logistics, supply chain and even gambling industry.

I agree the scammer should get a punishment so that there is no repetition. ico is still valuable as long as investors believe that ico has a future, at least products that are useful in the long term.

the difference between the ICO market in the year 2017 and the year 2018 is very far from the year 2017 is very high and ICOs are great for that person. While in 2018 it is not good for Ico because of the fallen cryptocurrency market.

In 2017 ICO's were genuine and a lot of project met the soft cap and their project got succeed similarly in 2018 it was reversed like lot of scam projects got involved and the value of crypto coins were heavily bombared by big whales. let's believe this year there will be lot of descent project of ICO's.

If we compare both those, we will end up 2017 as a successful one while in 2018, there was a lot of scam ICO. Anyway, I think STO is going to take the place and ICO will no more be used hugely only because of the fraudness. So, I can't expect something good for ICO in 2019.

It will continue as usual and it wont be stopped. I think even the SEC will red flag them, there would still be attempts to do so.

For 2019, I think very few people/investors would be engaged with this type of investment.

I don't think there would be much different in 2019 about ICO compare to 2017 as the market seems to determine how they perform in the long run, market this year will still be a bit sluggish but might be a bit better as 2018 was total lost but expecting this year to at least have some gain with the price of market now and that will go a long way with ICO too.

I am not pretty sure for this if the success rate of every ICO depend on the market trends. If the team has a good, positive and confident in promoting the project like having a good strategy, connections and good marketing may not be the reason for a project to fail. It is just that investors are not trusting already the market or any ICO projecta because of the number of scammers and a scam projects.

The distinction between the cryptocurrency market and the ICO in the year 2017 compared to the year 2018. The year 2017 was purely triumphant and bitcoin increases and other coins happened and in the year 2018 was concentrated in bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

ICOs are risky, many of them are pure scams, and all of them are useless because none of them have ever done anything. all they do is create a useless token and get paid for it just to stop working the day they receive the payment. in other words they are getting paid for a one time job!!!

this flawed model is doomed to fail. which is what has been happening from start of 2017. people no longer trust them specially since they stopped being profitable but also because they start to realize how useless they all are.

ICO market conditions in 2017 with 2018 are very different, when in 2017 there are so many ICOs that can be successful and have very high selling prices, but towards 2018 there are so many ico who are scam, sometimes fail and even though the price is not too successful expensive and very cheap, it's really sad that very miserable years are in 2018.

I think numbers will drop further in 2019. I hope it will be because of the increase in quality start ups, and also the increase of knowledge of standard ico investors. I hope they will not fall prey that easily like last two years. I also think further regulation will make sure most scams will not take place (as easily as before).

That said. I wouldn't be surprised to find out a lot of solid start-ups have simply been waiting with their launch. Maybe they have tried to colled means through private funding and are already building (in secret, no hype). They may launch their case as soon as the bull arrives, and perhaps they will be able to pick up speed really fast by then. A successful ICO was often nothing more than a certain set of requirements (executed proper).

The difficult and difficult things when investing in the ICO project are too many fraud projects compared to our thinking, I always have to choose and analyze very carefully before participating in a project, too difficult to be assured of the project in ICO. Hope this year 2019, they will overcome this minimum problem  :o

This is an interesting question. I'm wondering if these ICO investors already learn from 2017 and 2018 market results. 2017 is a year for crypto hype while 2018 was the opposite where a price correction happened and most ICO ended up either getting their token becomes a trash or discontinued the project. I could say that ICO this year will be different where there will be a concrete rules and regulation to be followed.

As what I've understand because of the success in 2017's ICOs, there were several more openings happened in 2018. And now that 2018 was not-so-good year for ICO, maybe it will reflect to this year ICO performance. So I am expecting lesser, yet more productive/useful ICOs this year.

scam really damages the image of ico, investors are hesitant and even afraid to invest in ico and if things like this continue to occur then the continuation of ico can be threatened but I am sure that there will be a solution for all this there will be people who cannot just keep watching all this and that's what will make investors return to trust ico and make ico always there

2018 is the worst time for crypto. not only for ico but even for trade, it was very different compared to 2017. and this year, I don't think there has been a big change. ico is like dead, but one thing that makes me optimistic is that this year it seems the crypto market has stopped falling. the price has stabilized, so hopefully because of this ICO can grow again.

so far, most of the ico now are moving the same thing for what is happened last the whole year of 2018.
But I guess and hoping this 2019 will become the beginning of a legit ico. Though, some of the ico still extending their ico project
and yet they never give additional budget for the bounty campaign, and yet they give additional task for the community who
partake in the campaign.

That resulted in much higher profits for investors.

In 2019, we will see less ICO than in 2018. In my opinion, serious companies understand that now is not the best time to attract investors. Today, in order to raise funds for ICO, it is necessary to have an outstanding idea. But the situation can be saved by Security tokens, which will make your investment safer.

With the market situation during 2017 is very different in 2018, fewer investors and bounty campaign participants because ads has not been reach the people. I guess 2018 is the best year for ICO due to the peoples awareness in the industry and also a worse year because there are lots of ICO that is scam and build a negative reputation within the industry of crypto.

according to my prediction 2019 will be a difficult year for some coins and projects, there will be lots of coins and projects that die but 2019 will also be a place to prove which coin and project are really good because in 2018 there has been a long bearish period there are lots of coins and projects that are in crisis and it will be difficult for them to recover so that if they cannot make innovations or breakthroughs, coins and projects can die so if there are coins that can survive in 2019 then that coin is a true coin nice and strong

2018 wasn't a good market year for crypto partly due to the numerous scam projects which scared investors away and the general poor market conditions. 2019 could only be better if only we are going to experience the reverse of the above, which am very optimistic that things will go in a positive direction

From the statistics you have given we can conclude that since 2017, the number of ICO being launched is increasing but I think the same trend will continue. We may probably see many ICO again this year. Possibly they may be greater than 2018 but a number of unsuccessful ICO will probably be higher than last year. Also, the rate of Scam is becoming alarming. This is because a lot of criminals are now shifting to using ICO to get cheap money just like the way HYIP do operate. Unless huge postive news hit crypto and the market recover well that may drive investors to ICO again. If not, it is likely things get a bit sour in 2019

I think that 2019 will continue the trend of the past years and we will see a lot of fraudulent projects, among which it will be very difficult to choose a really worthwhile ICO. But I hope that we will finally see the regulation of ICO by the state and investing in cryptocurrency will become safer.

Unless we see a reversal in the overall crypto markets and with Bitcoin, in particular, I predict that 2019 will not be good for ICOs. The Bear market has proven to be extremely destructive for ICO in 2018 when projects failed to reach hardcap funding targets and crashed heavily upon exchange listing.

There was big difference b/w 2017 and 2018 ICO as in 2017 there were no KYC no extra regulations by any govt and also market was in stable position specially in 2017 Q4 but in 2018 there were many factors including bearish market and KYC rules for investors and bounty hunters and also some advertisement restrictions by Facebook and Twitter which degrade ICO popularity and mostly did not achieve there softcap.

In 2018, everyone counted on the same market, so there was such a stir on a large number of projects!

ICO market 2017 is indeed very fertile and provides more benefits for coin holders, and currently has many differences and concerns. As if the ICO will be born again and need more process to be fertile, there must be many innovations for its growth.

Comparing the cryptocurrency market in the year 2017 and the year 2018 is diverted by the person2017 increased the bitcoin price slightly and that person came outgood ICOs also increased altcoins. but in the year 2018i s the worst year for cryptocurrency because it crashes all overalmost altcoins especially bitcoin so far out of 2017 in the passing year 2018.

The ICO market in 2018 is full of intrigue and panic, resulting in a decline in the traditions at the end of the year and until now it continues. New hope in 2019 will be better.
If considering that 2017 can indeed be said the ICO market is very fertile, every second and every time has increased and hardfork bitcoin works well.

indeed there have been many changes that occurred in 2017 to 2018, as if from those who had flown in the sky now, everything was walking on the ground. I hope there will be new hope in 2019

in my opinion, it depends on market conditions in 2019, if this year the market conditions can improve, it can be assured that the ICO also improves because whatever the success of the ICO depends on market conditions.

The era of easy money at ICO has come to an end. The undermined trust in ICO projects against the background of a solid share of scams and falling rates of cryptocurrencies did their job. Need a transformation. Legislative regulation of the ICO is necessary. Everyone is tired of helplessness before fraudulent actions.

then, what will happend with ICO market in 2019, give me your toughts ?

Probably the same, terrible, it's better to invest on a project that already has a working feature unlike on an ico that have yet to exist, no one knows if the team behind will work on their project i mean there are already alot of project that has yet to produce a product.

If we compare ico in 2018 & 2017 than its very clear that in 2017 was a good year for ICO’S but 2018 was a worst year for ICO’S & crypto as well.
We can aspect that 2019 will be a good year like 2017 & hopes market will re bounce soon.

That is happening while the prices are rising at a slow, steady pace and can be in good par value after only a few weeks. In the ICO and Crypto markets, I think the growth will always increase, perhaps in the future they will be better and this year is also a good year  ;D

ICO market 2018vs2017? It's nothing to compare with each other, so different. ICO market was far better off in 2017 especially towards the end of the year, the reverse was the case in 2018. Even airdrops in 2017 were paying off than bounties or even some investment in 2018. It was terrible. I'm optimistic for a better 2019

There is a new trend now on ICOs which I believe started late 2018 where start up projects now have a working product or MVP even during the token sale period. I think that trend will continue for 2019 and beyond. I'm not sure if we'll see proper regulations this year.

In 2018, everyone hoped that the market would continue to grow and that is why we saw such an increase in the number of projects, but when the market fell so much, I think it is difficult to predict what will happen next!

Icos boomed in 2017, legitimate and bogus alike and 2018 acted like a purge for icos though all them suffered all the same, even legitimate projects. I think this year would be a little better for icos than 2018 with people being a little more cautious but open to them.
