Title: Epic Games CEO Denies Enabling Monero in Fortnite Merch Store!
Post by: vadimkr on January 07, 2019, 02:44:36 PM
It appears that it was all just an intentional mistake of sorts, and the implementation of Monero as a cryptocurrency payment option in Fortnite story had been somehow accidental!

I don't thing the price of Monero will change because of it, but yes it's funny how a big company like Epic Games can make "mistakes" like this ... that's strange ..

Seriously what the hell. Is this true? Not so great news after all then. Hope a lot of people saw it though.

They probably didn't realise that monero is a dark market coin and are now back tracking with ludicrous claims that it was accidental. Just like janet jackson had an accidental 'wardrobe malfunction'

In itself, it is a good news, if a company like epic games now accepted crypto in a game. Only that they have decided for monero i find strange. But surely they have a reason why just monero and no other coin.

I don't think it was a mistake. Such companies don't make such mistakes. And those half-explanations make the things worse imho.
I think that they wanted to do something related to crypto in their official store and maybe somebody heard that Monero is cool.

Just a bit too late the company lawyers (or somebody else, I don't know) have found out about this and advised them to not put they image together with something that can be associated with illegal stuff.
So they reverted the changes then posted "hey, look, an eagle (https://youtu.be/aMUOBBuPyXQ?t=25)"

this is pretty much what i think happened.
I have one question, that maybe is pretty obvious: does epic store accept bitcoin or eth?
