Title: [Wanted to share ] The first Crypto card ever made 2013, now for sale, again
Post by: dolphriends on January 10, 2019, 09:15:17 PM
Hey all

For all of you that appreciated the allen and ginter cards, here is the first ever crypto card made in 2013 on display.  If you have one of these you want to sell I sure wouldn't mind having two of them.  The display box was easy to make lol.  First offer of 4 BTC gets the one crypto card and display box only. I priced this based on my opinion it will grade around PSA 7.   I would have asked 10 BTC if it was gem mint lol.  :o

What would you like to know? Is this the first one you have ever seen? It is about 4" x 6" made of tigerwood, there is a section under the tray where I keep my  mini reds, black mini's,  rare regular type cards, the tray displays two mini's, I used an MJ upperdeck magician which I like the looks of and my samesong park for display.  The hinges are solid brass.  The top of the box has some inlays.  Hope this helps :)

The card comes from someone who attended a conference (2013) in las vegas.  There were actual decks of cards that were given to the attendees but, they did not include  the crypto.  To receive these you had to locate an anonymous individual who had a key to a room where the cards were to allow you in to get one.  It was not an easy task to find this person and from what I understand there were only a few that ever did.  The manufacturer is not a one off but, had to be kept secret due to the possibility of being hacked for the badges.  I looked at the designs and believe it was bicycle but, that is just my conclusion.  For me finding this was so exciting, like finding the first crypto coin made, except there are only a few.  I still am on the hunt for the crypto community cards and would trade some of my rarest crypto #83's for them or another one of these and throw in cash. :) :)

Hope this helps

Oh man a conference like that sounds like a dream.  Did you do all that yourself?  Or did you buy from someone who did all that.  If you were there, I'd love to hear more about the puzzle aspect!

Bought it and received information from someone else.  I would love to have been there myself.  I am only the beneficiary of someone else's hard work and patience. :)

Here is the relevance of the magician card in the display

“I’m kind of like a magician. I have to come up with new tricks every year,” Clarke says. “I’m staying one step ahead of them so far.”  end quote.

I need a pair of the glasses with the special red lenses.

I have been asked about making some boxes but, unfortunately I don't have the time, sorry.  Again, if anyone finds one of these crypto cards I am willing to purchase it regardless of condition.  I am trying to narrow down the manufacturer and it's quite a task., think it is still the bicycle company.  Either way I am interested, also looking for the crypto community cards which were just a one off but, really cool indeed :)

Notice on the crypto card it doesn't say crypto at the top, the crypto card has the letter C and the guy with the glasses.  The back of the card has an ace and the 2013 date on it.
