And me it would seem if the four or five pages of theymos' recent thread (of  nineteen pages) discussing me *not* being on the DT2 list  are any indication...    ::)

I’m getting sick of reading butthurt trolls calling you out. I must have put 4 or 5 on ignore over the last 24 hours.

@OP can you please make also current DT2 list ? And mark who have added new on DT network (DT1+DT2).

It will be done soon but since the number was huge yesterday, ~380 is not a good Idea to do on day 1 for volatility ;D problems.

Scammers will review this thread wisely so they'll be aware of who are they going to mess with.  For sure.

Do you make the lists manually?
I can probably script something when I'm back at my desk. It would be nice to keep a record of changes for every week/month to come.

Seems likely, I'm missing from the new DT1 list for whatever reason and it's likely manual error.

Since I got some PM's about updating, I will update Once a week. DT List is very dynamic and I can't see the point to update it every day.

Where did you get information of DT1 and DT2 members?
Can you give me link to the original source, from which I can get it myself when I have free time.

I will update the thread today or tomorrow with the new list.

It should be better for your next update if you can point out the percentage of new DT members (both DT1 and DT2) are self-made ranked up users.
It will somehow demonstrate that forum users can both promote and get trustworthy by community with merit system and new trust system (that might be officially implemented, with some minor adjustments, I guess).

When they have a negative sign, it means that people exclude them from the trust list, but do not give any negative feedback?

Fixed: when they have a negative value it means they have the requisites to join on DT1 list with the new algorithm but others dt1 users have excluded them.

Feedback is a different thing from the trust.

Removed  the last activity column, if you are not active you can't be a DT1 so was redudant.

It seems that 7 weeks after the Default Trust Change, trust abusement has almost gone.
There are very limited unknown, strange new members in the DT Trust List.
It's somehow demonstrate the plan of theymos is right, that the Defaut Trust Change need sometime to corrected itself to be a good one.
By now, around 2 months, it seems started working right as theymos' expectation.

Why am I not in your list?

I’m trusted by 16 people, 9 of them have over 250 earned Merit. Am I missing something?

Maybe you need 10 people with 10+ merit also so if 9 people with 250 merit are trusting you and 16 people total are trusting you, you have 16-9=7 people with 10+ merits?

You seem to miss 3 people with 10+.

So, in the end, seems that if people have more than 10 and more than 250 they seem to count only for the 250 part.

You're not on DT1. With your current inclusions you'll probably be added at the next update, but theymos updates manually. If it's monthly again, it should be in a few days.

250 merit counts as more than 10.

There are so many DT members.now.basing on the OP's post. As I.have gone scanning with the list, some.of the users being listed are not familiar and not active here in this section. Anyway, if this is for.the good of the forum then so be it. Hope to see good things and some.changes with this users on the list especially in marketplace area where they can help users by tagging fraudsters and the likes with negative trust.

You can use me as an example to prove that Loyce is correct: http://loyce.club/trust/ranking/ (I'm number 31). At the time of making this post, I am on DT1 with 13 250+ votes and only 3 10+ votes.

Therefore LFC_Bitcoin will become DT1 after theymos performs the next update.

I think you meant " inclusions" , makes perfect sense now, but is there a chance that he won't be on DT on the next round assuming for an example that  1 of his voter's vote goes to someone else who "needs it more"?  i remember reading something related to this but i can't recall the exact point.

I think you mean inclusions, correct? I only had 6 at the time. @o_e_l_e_o, don't worry about me. I'm perfectly content with being DT2.  Although it appears that I may be getting a promotion the next time theymos updates the dt1 list. However, you never know. People can change their trust lists at any time.

you are on DT2 which really is just about the same with even less drama, i personally can't deal with all that, i rather discuss a miner's issue than having to go on a debate on why did i tag someone or anything trust related for that matter.

     I just counted the number of supervotes people have who have included me in their trust lists. The count is ~38. If I didn't make it on DT1 because I couldn't get 2 out of 38 votes, I would think theymos would need to revisit his algorithm. However, I only have 12 people including me on the list. 3 could drop me like a hot potato at any moment. The later situation would probably be the most likely, IMHO.
    However, if I don't make it, I'll just shrug it off and go back on my patrol hunting for posts to merit. I've had a small break from that since I ran out of smerit and source merit two days ago.

Theymos no longer maintains DT1. The list is generated automatically once a month based on certain criteria described here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5095156.0

IIRC you didn't get in last month because you didn't have a trust list of at least 10 people. Now you do so I'm certain you'll be in DT1 next time it's generated, which should be within the next few days.

True, but the DT1 re-calculation only happens once a month (so far), rather than updating in real time. So if you did become DT1, and then 3 people dropped you from their trust list, you would remain DT1 until the next recalculation.


Correct. Philipma1957's trust list (http://loyce.club/trust/2019-02-07_Thu_22.34h/64507.html) at the start of February (the time of the last recalculation) only contained 7 users.

If you were successful in your coup to remove the likes of Lauda then it would have opened the way for hundreds of previously red tagged scammers to return to their scamming ways.

Agreed. It is becoming unwieldy, and with every update and bunch of brand new inappropriate accounts make their way on to DT2 as well. I'm sure theymos previously said that if DT1 reached >100 users, then each month a random selection of 100 users would be picked from the pool. I'm not sure that's the best option, as you run the risk of scammers losing their warning if all their tags suddenly moved to "untrusted". As I said at the initiation of this new system, I think the requirements are too lax - 10 votes from users with 10+ merit is too easy to achieve. Either the number of votes or the required merit (preferably both) should be increased. And as I mentioned in another thread, there should be a merit and not-inactive requirement for DT2, same as there is for DT1.

Maybe 10+ votes from posters with 10+ Merit’s is OK if you make 5+ inclusions from fellow DT1 Members a necessity too.
If you are included by 5+ DT1 Members I think that’s a good reflection on if you’re trustworthy.

Ehhh....I don't think the number of DT1 members right now is that bad, and by the looks of it there isn't anyone in it that raise red flags in my mind.  It's the number of DT2 members that concerns me, and DT1's need to really keep solid trust lists so as not to give power to members who might abuse it (or who don't deserve it).

This makes the DT1 list a bit too centralized for my liking. If you need a minimum of a net positive of 5 DT1 inclusions rather than the current equal to or greater than 0, then a small number of DT1 members will effectively be allowed to choose the other DT1 members. It could also result in, for example, a very trustworthy user from a local board being excluded from DT1 despite having many inclusions from their local board, simply because the majority of DT1 users don't frequent that specific board and therefore don't interact with said user. I would rather it stays in the hands of the community, but just have somewhat higher requirements.

I personally think the 10 merits per vote isn’t enough, raise it to 25 or 50 and I’m sure the lists will be vastly different, 25 merits isn’t hard and if you can’t earn that why on earth are they having any sway on the forum ?

@LoyceV, how difficult would it be to give us some numbers for different scenarios? For example, how many DT1 members would there currently be if the requirements were raised to the following (with the "upper requirement" of 2x 250 merit votes staying the same in all cases):

A) 10x 25 merit votes
B) 10x 50 merit votes
C) 20x 10 merit votes
D) 20x 25 merit votes

The problem with the DT list growing too large is only going to get worse over time as more users set default trust lists and more users earn 10+ merit.

Wow... just noticed how much DT1 has changed. I think having the higher merit requirement is a good idea as 10 merits are not very many. Seems I am now just a regular user without that massive DT1 abuse power  ::)

I've done that before (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5116287.0). It's probably faster to play around with http://loyce.club/trust/ranking/ and manually see who still qualifies. You (http://loyce.club/trust/ranking/1188543.html) for instance would be DT1 if it requires 15 votes from users with 500 Merit, but you don't make it to 30 votes with 10 Merit.

You're still DT2, but you need to be more active to be DT1. Say make a post on the 3rd of each month.

I agree with all of this, but instead of having the 100 "randomly" selected they should be selected based on the criteria used in Loyce's DT "Rank Up Pipeline." Maybe have the selection based on "who fits into DT1 the most" rather than relying on random elements.

I think it's time to set the criteria to include only true believers, i.e. ones who have "moon" in their names.

Seriously though, I think default depth should be set to 1 and then DT1 should be capped at ~200 or so based on most votes. Or leave it at depth 2 but cap DT1 at 50-ish. This DT2 business isn't working out, it looks like we can't find 100 users who would be 100% attentive to their trust lists, let alone feedback ratings of their "subordinates".

DT2 is becoming less and less useful as time goes on. Every time theymos recalculates DT1, then a bunch of inappropriate accounts are showing up on DT2; proven scammers, long dead accounts, accounts whose only left feedback is a positive to the DT1 member who is now including them, that kind of thing. I still think stricter voting criteria for DT1 (higher merit required and more votes required) and some new criteria for DT2 (not inactive and minimum of 10 earned merit) would be a good first step.

There are a bunch of good DT2 users who I don't think we would want to lose by setting default depth to 1, but I would agree to setting a much lower cap on DT1 users coupled with stricter requirements as above.

I feel like it caused a lot more drama with the power-fights. It also "inflated" trust: users got either a lot more green, or a lot more red.

An easy and effective restriction would be to require 2 (my suggestion (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5139305.msg50896748#msg50896748)) or 3 (LFC_Bitcoin's suggestion (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5139305.msg50895969#msg50895969)) inclusions from DT1 to be on DT2. Another good suggestion. As per your numbers, requiring 2 inclusions would cut the current DT2 list down to 128 from 378 - a much more reasonable number. 3 inclusions would cut it down to 65 which I think is probably on the small side. I'm not sure whether requiring net inclusions of 2 or more is better, or requiring a minimum of 2 inclusions but still just a net above 0.

Having said that, I still think DT1 is becoming too large.

I think that 3 inclusions from DT1 members  for DT2 members is a better one. I don't think more DT2 members will help to solve things better. There are abusements on DT2 already, so if there will be a implementation to cut it down, it should be 3. It is nearly the same as when merit system started in 2018, people complained and proposed to require 5 merits for Member rank, 50 merits for Full member rank and so on.
More DT2 members will result in more fake DT2 members, and annoying wars from users and DT2 members if they use their role wrongly.
Maybe they are good users, but who knows when they have power in hands, they might change somehow, more arrogantly, and arbitrarily use their power, then wars will occur.
I think we should have a vote on which cutoff should be chosen, 2 or 3 inclusions and consequent estimated DT2 members?

Quality should be prioritized than quantity.

I think part of the Theymos experiment is to decentralize the power. By having DT1 effectively vote on all the DT2 there is a lot of power by the existing  DT1. (I have a lot of respect for some of the DT1's)

In my opinion this is the Theymos gold dredge experiment. By putting all the sluice into the dredge (including the nuggets and grains that were already found) and tossing it around the theory is that all the gold gets stuck behind the riffles. The risk is that the gold that was already found gets washed away in the process.

My concern would be the requirements are currently low enough that it would be fairly easy for one high ranking user, particularly if that user is a merit source, to earn enough merits on a few alts to vote on a couple of sockpuppets. With thousands more merit being distributed every month, it will only get easier as time goes on. I would rather be in a situation where the majority of sockpuppets weren't eligible at all, rather than relying on random chance to prevent them from being included.

Sure, that's a valid concern.  Take a look at how much merit Foxpup has sent The Pharmacist.  I think this is why the random feature was introduced.  There would be too much crying and backlash if theymos took a hardhanded approach to stopping this sort of abuse, especially among the higher ranking members, which is why I assume he prefers a community based approach.  Unfortunately, theymos used some really poor judgement when selecting Merit Sources, which will have a negative effect on this forum for quite some time.
