Title: Ethereum Blacklisted in Google Ads
Post by: vadimkr on January 14, 2019, 01:06:13 PM
Reddit user eli0tz has brought attention to Google Ads seemingly blacklisting “Ethereum” as a keyword. The user said they have been using keywords containing “Ethereum” for the last 6 months without issue, in order to get more visibility for their “smart contract auditing services”; however, since January 9 they have noticed a change, and now it appears that “ethereum” has been blacklisted.

I don't know about Google ads but ICO should prefer bounty hunters to give good results because they accept the ICO's token, Google will not accept that if they reject cryptocurrency related keywords then go for bounty hunters.

I believe they only mean the keyword ETHEREUM to be not allowed, this keyword I guess is too broad already. They are encouraging new advertisers not to use ETHEREUM but use their own keyword, their own project instead of using the popularity of ethereum.

This news is already distributed throughout the Internet. this is a very bad news for the Ethereum coin holders

IMO it's not fair. The word ICO could be blacklisted and that's ok, but what's wrong with ethereum? It terribly looks like another shitty manipulation and someone definitely want to dump ETH price to buy at really low price levels.

What could be the reason for this their action against Ethereum, this will create panic now and many weak holdlers will be rushing to dump of Ethereum as if Google can end the future of Ethereum

As of now for me that is normal day because they have company or website that blacklisted the cryptocurrency and now ethereum blacklisted by the google ads it's their choice because they have the right to do want they want to their service. But I hope they relize soon that cryptocurrency is really opportunity and they unblack it to their company and website to see the other people and they start to earn too.

whoever believes that any news, be bad or good, affect the value, are really ignorants. There is only MANIPULATION. Big amount of big players talk to each other to pump and dump coins making huge profit. I have a friend playing this game and won 75% profit in the last pump. obviously when the market got to the targeted value, he sold all. This is the real state of this brutally manipulated market.

Please, market, just die.

Wasn't ETH supposed to start gaining with the upcoming hard fork? It seems that this is looking like an attempt to manipulate the market.

What do you mean by that? you mean you say that in search engines we will not going to see some ethereum news? Or just in ads posted in some famous sites that contain some ethereum platform ads?

It might be connected with more searches of Ethereum regarding to the network update/fork. Google may try to discourage paid advertisers to use such broad terms.

I remember if you are searching ethereum and there will be an error notification will appear. They are starting to use their own platform. But so far that will not give any impact to the ethereum because it has widely adopted. there was a lot of ways to the future

Now Ethereum has very big problems. ban of advertising / scam forks / moving the dates of Bakkt. I think that the Ethereum will soon cost 50 dollars.

yes you're right, developers should be more confident to use their keywords. it will make their project better known, than using the ethereum keyword.

Yeah, that could really be it. Blame the post on Twitter Vitalik Buterin. That he wants to leave the ETH team and go to Google. He apparently has changed his mind). But seriously, this is a very big problem affecting the price of ETH.

Yes you are correct when the Google will not accept something then it will be in the black mark situation show the development of ethereum will definitely be affected by this changes and hopefully they will make some changes for this.

I have heard the news that Google blocked all advertisements containing cryptocurrency and it seems that it has actually been done up to now, so I was a little surprised to learn that before January 9 ethereum it was still not blocked from Google Ads
which news is correct? Google has been blocking everything that contains cryptocurrency for a long time or has it really been done after January 9?

There are probably no good news for ethereum right now.
First the update is postponed and now this blacklisting.
It is really time that there are good news for ethereum again.

This may be due to the fact that old fashioned hyips and ponzi schemes were now promoting their projects as an ico to attract large funds and investments so that is why they were uaing the keywords like ethereum and ico to attract crypto community. It is good step to save people from loosing their money but at the same time i hope it will be temporary as google should filter and ban fake, scam or ponzi projects rather banning the keywords.

I can tell you that this is very bad as ethereum simply will not be able to further promote and develop the project if such a giant as Google does not support them

If this stands as the moment, then it doesn't paint a good image for ethereum ans Ethereum based project. In addition, we can recall that Google restricted ads from cryptocurrencies terms and the rest. This is really bothering as it can go a long to affect the price of ETH and even other ERC 20 tokens.

It would have had no effect on Ethereum, except for the news that quickly spread, which would push people to sell Ethereum, although I still think it is unlikely that it will affect Ethereum.

It is a pity that this situation occurred with the most beloved cryptocurrency etherum. I hope that this news was simply artificially created to attract the attention of potential investors.I just don’t see a more worthy answer in such a situation. No information has been received from the developers of ethereum. Though if you think logically if such a situation would be real, everyone would know about it. Even those who are very far from cryptocurrency.

Well, isn't that nonsense? I don’t understand why Goolge completely obeys these stupid laws. Now this company has a very large potential to buy its own state. Therefore, I do not understand what it is.
