So what would the perfect coin look like? What sort of technology, abilities, and specs would the perfect coin have to have to overthrow Bitcoin and all others and be the only crypto currency we could ever need?

Well, since there is no perfect world and there is no perfect individual,

Then we cannot expect a perfect coin, The crypto currency coins can only support one another and be come more valuable by settling weakness left behind.

I think it's not just one crypto that's needed, but lots of crypto types,
we know that each crypto has its own function,
and I'm sure there will be crypto representing each of these projects,
some on agriculture, health, property, school, etc.
and crypto that will last is that the delivery is fast, has a strong community, and dev is active.

We have not yet to see that coin in the market, there are coins that are trying to overthrow Bitcoin but the closest challenge is still on Ethereum and Waves, but who knows this year or in the near future that coin will arrive in the market, we just need to get update on what's happening in the market.

Hard to imagine what will be the perfect coin to overthrow bitcoin though. To be honest, there's alot of coins who excels better than bitcoin in terms of speed, scalability and fees. But bitcoin still remain the dominant force above all coins right now.

I think having a good name will do? When I say having a good name means having a good reputation in the market. No, I don't think this market has just only one or 2 ,3 coins. The number may not be more than 2000 as now, but there will be one cryptocurrency ecosystem including many coins which have different functions

There will never be a "perfect crypto coin". Even fiat, in it's hundreds of years of existence or thousands of years, isn't perfect.
Whatever the imperfections are, we adapt and find workarounds for it and accept it.

Perfect coin at my opinion must have: anonymity, asic resistant to avoid centralization, have smart contracts with great speed, limited supply, great devs team. But some of them already exist like KMD and waves but they still don't succeed. So popularity must on the first place in my list with great marketing team)

I don't think there is a perfect coin because I think each coin has advantage and disadvantage and we can find one advantage in one coin while we can find the other advantage in the other coins. I don't think that any coins can beat or overthrow bitcoin because they need to increase the price more than bitcoin, that coin should be known by many people and popular among us.

But those coins are not popular than bitcoin, and it's not at many exchanges. So bitcoin still popular and still leading the cryptocurrency market.

think of it this way, when a company starts (like Samsung) they don't think about overthrowing other companies (like Apple). instead they think about offering a product that is better and offers competitive features and has a competitive price. that is how they grow.

There is no perfect coin, Bitcoin is the king not because it is perfect. Bitcoin has so many flaws and some coin has more features than Bitcoin. Bitcoin is number one because it is the one of the very first cryptocurrency, and the idea of Bitcoin is original at that time, so people interested and they adopted Bitcoin, and this massive adoption is what makes Bitcoin better than other.

I think the creation of such coin is impossible. The perfect coin is not and will not be! There will always be pros and cons, there are no solid pros. It is difficult to say what the space will get to be satisfied. Some project tried a higher level of anonymity, coin stability etc. The decentralized factor of the space still need time to get across to everyone. IMO for a decentralized entity that has gotten this size of adoption in 21 century within 10 year it has achieved a level of success that give hope for the future. The only thing bitcoin needs is a level of acceptability through ETF which may have long term effect on the coin.

I do no not think there is anything called a perfect coin, even bitcoin is not a perfect coin,  because it is also subject to volatility.
A good coin must have a good usecase. The product must be adoptable. Without that, it cannot have an appreciable value.
So the product must solve a real time problem and the team must be active.

I am totally agree with you on this, there would be nothing just perfect in this market, with this unstable market conditions. For the perfection you have to stop stabilization and the scamming problem first. The people has lost their trust on cryptocurrency in 2018, because of the enormous value lost and the scam ICO's.

You can see from both sides, perfect in the sense of coin that has a good function and can be used by everyone as both a transaction system and an investment system. And second, perfect in terms of investment, I guess a lot of coin in cryptocurrency functions as a place of investment and is rarely used as a possible transaction system on the basis of regulations from each government.

a perfect coin should have a fixed supply, fixed price (price changged only by goverment order and mass approval), can't be mined, imposible to be hacked, launched without an ICO but by exchange it with real FIAT currency (in other word a goverment cryptocurrency).

Coin has its own value and I believe that if there is a lot of people believe on that coin the value will surely rise because the demand is high. If the coin faces a huge or a negative feedback coin will surely drop down and no one wanted to invest on it. 85% of the coins are legit coins and the rest 15% are unrated coin's  . legit coins cant die but some unrated coins can be  , because the demand for them are only temporary  .

Until now, bitcoin is the perfect coin for me because bitcoin can give some value for me especially to make money. The altcoin is also given some value for me, but it's not as big as bitcoin. But altcoin can help me to gain more bitcoin by investing, trading, so when I sell the altcoin, I can increase my bitcoin amount. We might not get to have a perfect coin, I will say what we need is a solid project not necessarily perfect because there will always be room for correction.

All of that will happen if indeed Bitcoin experiences a very large decline. because at this time when there was a decline in bitcoin like now so many coins were unable to survive and eventually became a dead project

If there is a perfect coin without any weaknesses, the market will lose the balance and people just want to use this coin and there will no any opportunities for other coins

I am not looking for a perfect coin in this cryptoworld. What is needed is just the use of crypto in our daily activities like buying and selling so no need to look for a perfect coin because everything has a downside even if it is best.

The reason why we have many altcoins is that they compliment each other. One weakness in one coin is solved by another. So I don't think there might be a perfect coin rather there will be many coins with real-world uses which in one way or the other will contribute  the growth of the crypto space.

If a currency needs to be used then it must have a value apmost stability and can be transacted so bitcoin even can act as only cryptocurrency we need but already we have thousands of cryotos and more yet to come and no one is going to stop the creation of coins.

nothing is perfect you are right, because every coin has a drawback. even though each coin has weaknesses but at least we are looking for the good and who have the advantages that can be profitable.
if you can run Crypto correctly and correctly, you can generate from Crypto and vice versa.
You must be careful too, because not all coins are good and can be profitable so you have to research.

There is nothing perfect no perfect coin no perfect being there must be an error somewhere somehow but there could be a case whereby the good has some good and quality features to suit the users

Its hard to meet the never ending demand from the people, and considering the supply of new technologies, coins and so on there’s no way to be perfect. Altcoins will stay, its good for them to tay for good because bitcoin is also limited so we need other sources.

I don't think that there will be the most perfect coin and the only crypto coin to use, because there is no one thing in this world that is perfect.
on the other hand bitcoin and other altcoins are tied together and need each other in blockchain technology, so everything will continue to go hand in hand and only those who can survive in the future will be the ones that I think are the best coins we need.

Stable based on what? If crypto is to replace fiat, then their prices should flip. You can always claim that btc had the stable price while usd had an unstable price in satoshis  ;D

That's a joke, when he was claiming about that and then he was telling us about another a nice joke in tihs day. There will be no stable rate in the crypto until the coin will be backed by the fiat, gold or other valuable commodity.

I have little experience to give my opinion on these issues, but I'll try.
It seems that projects that meet a demand from a specific group can be the ideal project.
I mean that there is a group with a lot of power and that when some project meets the demand of this group.
Usually we see great valuations or even media on top.
Privacy is a feature that almost every group wants and it doesn't matter how strong those groups are.
It's logical to think that anyone in cryptocurrency is naturally adept at cryptography and crypto, hence protecting, hiding, shuffling information.

I think that there will be a few coins that will be used by people and these coins will be recognized as valuable, such as Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin. Other tokens and coins can be recognized as shares of companies.

There is no permanent in this world except change. I really believe on that saying because I am part of innovation in this world. However, it is not yet the end for all crypto coin, why? Because cryptocurrency is just starting to develop in the globe. Maybe, we are suffering from a bear market and scam projects but soon, we will see again the bright start in crypto space. You should not conclude immediately but look for the positive sides of crypto in the future.

Bitcoin itself but without huge electric energy consumption.
Something very easy to use but very secured. I wanted to invest in few altcoins but it took me long time to find wallets and what to do so I gave up. Something which person without any technical knowledge will find easy to use.

I think we need some stable coin along btc. Only btc or other only one coin can not meet our need. You can see that different  coin has different  goals. All are trying to some unique problems to make crypto easy  to our real life. Thanks

There is no such things as perfect coins, even in FIAT there are no such perfect money. Its just simply coins, what decide a coins to be good or not is not if they are perfect or not, that is it's usability of that coins where everyone wanted to have it and utilize it.

If the market and people chose the very best cryptocurrency, then it is no other than bitcoin, and in that scenario, other altcoins will be eliminated to the battlefield and the focus will be centered to bitcoin and other strong crypto which I find good.

A coin that can play the roles a coin must play: storage of value, unit of account and a medium of exchange.
