Seeking Coders - Make GRIN Great

There has been a bit of buzz of late about a new coin named GRIN, for everyone who hasn’t looked into it yet I suggest you do. GRIN is a very innovative project and it has been released in the same vain as bitcoin, completely open, no setting aside coins for founders, no marketing campaigns or other bullshit. This is a project that is so good that it will be able to create a following just as bitcoin has. In fact, Theymos himself, has stated that this is the only alt-coin that he is actually interested in.

However, there is one shitty shitty thing about this coin, that is a great deal of concern for any who look into it. GRIN is an infinite supply coin at a rate of 50 coins per minute, forever!

In my eyes this is completely unacceptable, if you can’t mine this coin, and 99% can't you will be forced to buy it, and buying into something this inflationary is a shortcut to the poor house. A massive risk that will essentially mean a lack of adoption. This coin is worse than fiat in this way.

So my solution is a clone of the coin with only these changes:
   1) Block reward of 50 coins for the first 3 months only - this will bring the supply to roughly 6.5 million. The price should settle in this timeframe and will be a good time for people who can’t mine to buy in.
   2) After the 3 month period block reward drops down to 5 per minute matching bitcoins initial block reward.
   3) Halfening of block reward every 4 years until some kind of max cap has been released then it has to survive on transaction fees, just like bitcoin

That’s it. That's all that needs to be done to make GRIN great and a good choice for those 99% who can’t mine but are forced to buy. When GRIN releases a new update you simply use it exactly as is except for the change in block rewards. A very easy project for a programmer to do, but, one that could essentially make a great coin.

I can’t program at all but I'm sure there are many here who can so how about it? Will someone/group please make GRIN great.

This greatness can be achieved in 2 ways

   1) This clone coin becomes more popular then GRIN itself, because it more closely aligns to bitcoin, therefore becomes one of the top alt-coins
   2) This coin forces the developers of GRIN to remove their infinite supply model due to everyone investing in this deflationary coin over their inflationary coin.

This is a win/win situation really

Ha. For anyone wondering I think it would be best if this clone project would follow the same rules as BTC and GRIN, no advertising etc. There would simply be developers, making the one block reward change each time the GRIN developers release a version. That's it, a simple modification on top of the great work (minus rewards) that the GRIN team are doing.

That's what I think would be best. The goal is to either force the GRIN developers hand to make the supply deflationary, and if they don't a perfect deflationary alternative. Simples.

@jibberwok. Are you from the Grin development team? For the benefit of the people who do not know the project, I would suggest that you create an ANN thread showing what the cryptocoin's technical features are, philosophy and the roadmap.

Nope, I just really like the idea of GRIN, except for the infinite supply part. I'm not creating project, nor is this meant to be an announcement, because frankly I lack all the skills necessary. I'm just hoping that somebody who does have the skills sees this and then clones the project. I would love to invest in GRIN, but infinite supply prevents me from doing so and I am certainly not alone. Hence somebody clones with limited supply I think they will have a lot of support.

In fact, Theymos himself, has stated that this is the only alt-coin that he is actually interested in.

You got my interest on this coin but could you provide a link or proof that "Theymos" make a statement or review about GRIN? I would really appreciate if you can give some link about this although I'm currently reading the details about this GRIN coin. Thanks in advance!

here's the link to their ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090427.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090427.0) Theymos's comments are in there, read the lot only 11 pages. However, in it's current state the coin is shit, the infinite supply and extremely high inflation rate will kill it. Hence why I think someone should clone it and turn it into a limited supply coin in the same fashion as Bitcoin.

Theymos does not recommend buying in early on this one. With rate of inflation the coin value will probably be down 90% in a few months.

Another thread to read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098450.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098450.0) created by theymos

Is it an ICO? Or are you promoting an ICO? or seeking for services here on altcoin discussion? I guess you should transfer your thread to services because its quite inaappropriate it in here.
