Title: Blockchain friendly countries?
Post by: Moore234 on January 17, 2019, 02:20:05 PM
I've been doing a lot of research on Blockchain-friendly countries. While everyone loves to taut Malta, I'd like to introduce New Zealand.

Although generally overlooked due to its size, New Zealand has one of the world's most vibrant Blockchain ecosystem.
For a country of only 4 million people, they really punch above their weight.
To start with, the government has awarded grants to Blockchain companies like Vimba.
The general quality of projects in NZ is pretty high. I want to focus on two: Sylo & Centrality.
Both hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, they're working together to integrate decentralized solutions into our daily life.
You're probably already familiar with Centrality, they raised about $90m in early 2018. They're a venture studio for Blockchain projects, and they're doing some cool stuff, like working within New Zealand's already vibrant startup scene to empower other tech startups. They integrate blockchain projects into their family.

I don't think there are any countries "unfriendly" towards blockchain. If anything, some have issues with the coins or tokens from ICOs etc, but blockchain itself is pretty much a non issue. A block chain is more or less a write only, immutable database, self protected on each new entry. There are infinite applications where such a system could prove useful, something you want data to never be tampered with, such as votes or people's IDs.

Only a corrupt society that "needs" to be able to alter registries after the fact, would object this technology. It does bring transparency and it should in fact be pursued.

I am feeling a bit scared about the application of Blockchain for making national cryptocurrencies, like crypto dollar. I see it like getting total control about all of our money transfers (https://cryptodetail.com/why-do-people-trust-cryptocurrency-bitcoin) and infringement of our rights and freedoms.

New Zealand is one, there's some good projects from NZ that are advising the government.

Here's a good post:

Sylo, Centrality etc are discussed there.

China is crushing it when it comes to crypto, despite the government's control.

There are a lot of crypto or blockchain friendly around the world.

[1] Estonia and the rest of the Baltic states - https://ormeuscoin.com/2017/11/11/estonia-becomes-cryptocurrency-leader-in-the-baltic-region/

[2] Australia - who followed Japan in July 2017 to embrace bitcoin as well. https://news.bitcoin.com/coastal-town-claims-to-be-first-digital-currency-friendly-in-australia/

[3] Singapore - a lot of blockchain company is using Singapore as this HQ in Asia. https://ethereumworldnews.com/singapore-determined-become-first-country-fully-embrace-cryptocurrencies-dlts/

Those countries are just some of the countries being involved in crypto/blockchain sphere in the last couple of years and I will not be surprised if other's follow suit as well, specially around the Asian-Pacific region.

Why no one remembers the third world countries? Belarus for example. Oddly enough, people in this country are very friendly with crypto as far as I know.

Do you honestly believed that China will allow its citizens to hoard a lot of crypto? Remember that China is still a communist country so I doubt that they will grant so much power to their people to iget in crypto. That article is an over exaggeration of China's involvement, they may allow it, but at certain point they will have to curb it out like what they did on ICO 2 years ago, so I doubt the veracity of any news regarding crypto coming from China, in my opinion.

Their have been couple of countries that are crypto friendly but to me personally melta still remains the first cryptocurrency friendly country because of it support for blockchain development their have been some legal policies that support the development of cryptocurrency with a centralized framework in melta.

Argentina:
Government is working with many blockchain companies and solutions on one hand.
On the other hand, they're really open to innovation and crypto companies here are having a good time! It's a good place to be, however, we have a very slow process to regulate things.

Yup I agree that Malta so far was just another crypto and blockchain friendly country.

They even implemented a no tax to crypto business but condition applies.

There's a lot of blockchain friendly countries now, Well for me, every country is blockchain friend countries yet there are just a little of regulations and gaps. For example, in the Philippines. Growing and startup fin-techs connected to blockchain are on their ways to generate profit. I heard that Thailand accepted crypto-currencies well. But South Korea is thinking about it since there are some cases of money laundering that is related to Bitcoin.

Do you consider Belarus to be a Third-World Country? I certainly don't.

I wouldn't conclude that 'every' coutnry is a blockchain friendly country. You should also be aware that some countries are treating blockchain as crypto so they are fully prohibiting it.

They only understand;
blockchain = crypto

They don't understand that its a technology that they can adopt, the rest are very friendly and it's just getting started to be popular.

I think that in the near future several Eastern European countries will be friendly to cryptocurrencies.

Got it mate, blockchain is a technology in which as of now almost the whole world are looking unto using this, banks are now adopting the technology to bring inside them so i guess were on the same stand about blockchain

The problem maybe are the ICO the tokens and the coins that includes this they are the problem this community must faced

Going back to the topic, well i guess try to explore asian countries for sure you can find a safe haven in one of the country’s with good ambiance for cryptonians

This is not really a third world of course, but it is one of the less developed countries.

To me Philippine is the most cryptocurrencies friendly country.  Other countries like South Korea and Japan are trying but not like Philippines.  I believe that in future we would have more countries opening up there financial system for Cryptocoins developments.

Wow, I am happy to hear this news that the philippine country which is a member of Southeast Asia has been able to receive it well, hopefully it will spread to other member countries, because clearly I want that to happen, because until now my country hasn't done it yet. hopefully as a fellow Southeast Asian country there will be positive contamination.
