Title: for those who trade on forkdelta, please answer my question.
Post by: ishirut009 on January 19, 2019, 10:54:56 AM
for those who trade on forkdelta, please answer my question.

For example, i logged in my ethereum wallet to forkdelta and i transfer a token from my ethereum wallet to the forkdelta wallet. and i put that token as sell order. We all know that when you do this, the token will not be in your wallet anymore, so my question is, what happen if your browsing data history got deleted. You lost your token right ?

Browsing data history got deleted only? then It cant affect the forkdelta transactions since it is online and nothing will be lost once you deleted any history data you just have to login again in forkdelta using your eth wallet private key.

To sell tokens at EtherDelta, first you need to deposit it (send it to their smart contract). So tokens are in the smart contract and the easiest way to check all your balances is site like

https://deltabalances.github.io/

From 'Token Balances' you could see what is in your wallet, what is in EtherDelta smart contract and what is in few other DEX.
From 'Trade History' you could see if somebody matched your order.

Good explanation from masterzino, but just to reassure OP, as long as you have control of your private keys on your Ethereum wallet, you can never lose your tokens, but once you transfer them out to ED smart contract, then you have to wait until order is matched or cancel it.

If your sell order is matched, then you can always withdraw the ETH. Or cancel it, and take back your tokens.

Browser data history is stored in local PC where as transactions done on any exchange is stored in their database so there is no logic of getting token lost if browsing history is deleted. Trade your tokens w/o fear. I suggest you to keep a separate account to trade in Dex exchanges, you need to login into that exchanges by entering your private key of eth wallet or its password so so for extra precautions one must use a separate eth wallet to deal in Dex exchange.

I'd also recommend to take a look at a new decentralized exchange DexAge. The running an ICO, but got a very interesting MVP. So at this moment I'm waiting to see when it will be launched and I could start to try trading there.

Browsing data history will not affect our account on forkdelta, all our transaction are still there especially our tokens. We will not lose our tokens unless you've just been hacked. Just make sure your private keys are safe and only you can open your account in your ethereum wallet.

of course not, just sign out automatically from your account. all you need just to sign in again by selecting the "Import account" menu.

You need an old address and private key. Use the same address as the address before you sign out / delete browsing history

All orders remain in the market. Unless your order has expired. and this does not make a token or your balance is lost.

on the forkdelta every transaction there is an order time setting, default settings 10000 block, 1 block = 14 seconds.

we can change this setting as desired.

Yap that is good sign.MVP stands for minimum viable product . If the team has a primary product assembly, then the chance is higher that they will work on DXG in the future.

No there is no connection between clearing browsing history and of the transaction you made on etherdelta. If you cleared your browsing history, just import again your wallet  in etherdelta and all is back to normal again. Dont worry your token will not lost if you cleared your browsing history.

for my advice, it is better if you trade in exchange places such as forkdelta you can use ethereum provided from the forkdelta wallet and don't forget to keep the private key provided, because this method can prove to be safer, because it doesn't use your master wallet.

I use etherdeta to send this token easier than using myetherwallet.
I have never had a problem with Ethereal even though I routinely clean the history of my browser.
