Up until relatively recently, cryptocurrency hadn’t captured the interest of the general public; it was reserved almost exclusively for the engineers, developers, and entrepreneurs who had been involved in its conception around a decade ago.

However, the bitcoin bubble in 2017 caused cryptocurrencies to soar in value, and led to millions purchasing cryptoshares and even setting up their own mining farms.

Despite the considerable drop in the value of bitcoin over the past year, experts are predicting a new cryptocurrency boom in the near future, possibly from 2020.

A good friend of mine that I talk to about cryptocurrency is also quite known and I wont mention his name.  It makes me think just how many wealthy celebrities own Bitcoin or other altcoins.

There should be some big names from the dot com era that are heavily invested in crypto.
Recently I've seen a documentary about Netscape and there were some mentions of cryptos from some people.

In that list there is also missing Mark Cuban! I'm 100% certain the he is invested!

Bitcoin was since 2013 a high risk investment. The ones that did afford to risk some bucks on it could very easily invest. Clearly the celebs had plenty of bucks to invest, although probably they did only in 2016 or later.
Probably some had big gains, some have big loses and some are well in the middle. Especially the ones with loses will not advertise these investments, so maybe the list is even bigger.

Definitely there are more celebrities in the network than we can imagine,they hardly live a secret life,so most would tend to keep their cryptocurrency investments private,though one or two would definitely be made known to the public.
This is a potential investment that has a high amount of ROI based on one's investments,many celebrities are wealthy,so they have more opportunities to earn high the network,i don't see them missing out

The quote of Gates supporting Bitcoin is from 5 years ago. His attitude is much different now and I could bet he's not buying. He's an environmentalist and a KYC supporter so Bitcoin using a lot of energy and being used to by hackers is exactly what Gates hates. Listen to his old quotes about the Internet and computers and you'll see that he's a fool. Not a big loss for crypto.

Many people see how important Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency market are. They are people who care about the future and are not interested in temporary benefits. Think of it as a long-term investment because it is very similar to investments for future benefits.

To be honest, most of the celebs probably don't own Bitcoin. It was probably just used as a payment method and then converted into fiat due to the hype. If that was the case, I'm sure they are purely regretting it now.

We don't know how many celebrities actually possess bitcoin. And it's great that bitcoin is gaining the attention of not only developers and entrepreneurs, but also other people. This means that bitcoin will live no matter what anyone says.

Over the past 7 years, the price of Bitcoin has risen by 35,500 times and the trend in the past few years is that up and down tends to rise.

No wonder many people are competing to invest money in this one instrument, including celebrities

There were rumours about 50 cent being a bitcoin gangsta but he denied it later. Probably when the irs taxman came running he suddenly denied all knowledge lol.

Would it be an advantage if celebrities have a Bitcoin owner? Bitcoin is already technically anonymous crypto money. If I was a celebrity, I certainly wouldn't explain that I own Bitcoin.

I want to ask, do these celebrities have a big influence on crypto, I don't think so. they only make the hype and that is only for a while, I also believe they are like most beginner traders. just playing short in this matter. So i doubt right now that they are still holding in

In this list you can add some more celebrities who somehow support cryptocurrency. I read about Steven Seagal, Dennis Rodman, Jamie Foxx. Even Elon Musk has a 0.25 btc.

Bitcoin is already well known and it is not surprising that many celebrities already own it. I think that his fame will grow further and attract new large investors to the market and then there will be a new bull run.

As the reputation of bitcoin reach to different social classes, trust and use of bitcoin is increasing. These people are not only famous and have high amount of money and they are also investors. Like many people, they start to understand potential of bitcoin and other coins.

Yeah. IMO, it's just a matter of time until pretty much everyone will own bitcoin. :)

It good to know that your friend which happen to be a celebrity or popular person joined the crypto currency race despite the negativity been said about crypto currency market but it will be more better if all the celebrities and influential people who are into crypto currency could let the world know so more investors will also hop in.

Dunno how I feel about Gwyneth Paltrow being in that list...

You are right we don't know how many celebrities, businessmen and entrepreneurs possess in cryptocurrency we see that bitcoin is very popular even in other people they also joined in investing in bitcoin they believe and trust bitcoin no matter what people other say.

All I know is how many of the top artists have bitcoin, even the world boxer Mike Tyson has Bitcoin and even the boxer has made his own tokens to help promote Bitcoin throughout the world, so it's impossible for artists or people to lose interest in Bitcoin. .

Crypto investment is great for long term investment so it's a great opportunity for everyone to invest include celebrity.
When they using crypto as their main investment, it will attract more people to invest as well so it's like win win solution.

Thinking about this means alot to me, as, i can see many celebrities who are holding Bitcoin in fractions,who also associate themselves the new trend in the world of cryptocurrency. 50 Cent denied the allegation just after the IRS tax men ran after him to execute their tax momentum on him. Bitcoin will rise again, we just have to wait for the appropriate time for it to grow and mature.

I think that a new wave of growth of bitcoin will be soon as the price has fallen and people will not leave it unnoticed and will not miss the chance to earn on the growth of the crypto currency.

There are many other celebrities who have been part of crypto for a long time. I think some of them do it just for publicity and then disappear when their sponsored token starts devaluing.

The bitcoin bubble? So, it burst in 2017 and now it's gonna be blown up again? Interesting

I doubt most of these celebrities on your list even know what crypto is.
As mentioned before, it is probably just used as one of their many different payments options and converted into fiat.
Celebrities and people with wealth rely on their own financial planners and advice.
They dont need to understand the technology behind sending and receiving digital payments.

In these days, not only celebrities, some politician already interesting about bitcoin or cryptocurrency. I think its good for people to know about cryptocurrency because this market still undervalue and i think it can growing bigger. Its profitable to invest crypto right now and hold it for long term

I was about to say this. Bill Gates has changed his tune already so the list should be updated as well. There's also Floyd in the list, who's involved in Centra ICO, just saying. Anyways, I'm sure that threre's a lot of celebrities that might be in bitcoin but chooses to stay silent or hidden themselves from the public. You can even add John McAfee on the list, for all we know. Maybe those celebrities are hedging and going crypto to diversify their portfolio, just like casuals like us.

but did the value grow ? I would be happy if the rumors were true and if they really invest on it if yes , they maybe only investing smaller amounts because they are like those other people who are still scared about cryptos and on what being volatile can do to their capitals .


lol its funny how you guys think that btc is a bubble  . sorry but i have to say its not .  what causes the price to pump is the demand and the reason for its drop is verry obvious .  people sell boatloads of coins because they already reach their target price  . simple as that ,  

This just means that even celebrities has so much interests about btc and considered it as a serious investments. But seriously, it would be better if they have to keep it as a secret since there are so many fraudalent actd nowadays.
On the other hand, I don't see how important this is and this will gonna affect the market. Bitcoin is still volatile regardless of who owns it.
