Title: How will the possible ban on internet gambling in the US affect Bitcoin?
Post by: Kakmakr on January 21, 2019, 11:14:07 AM
By now most people have heard about this, https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-01-15/u-s-now-says-all-online-gambling-illegal-not-just-sports-bets.

We all know that Crypto currency online gambling sites are rampant on the internet and it adds loads of demand for Crypto currency on the Internet.

Some of these sites are legal, but a large amount of them are operating illegally. The possible prohibition on internet gambling in the US will have a significant impact on the price of Crypto currencies that are used for gambling.

Do you think legal operations will close their doors and move underground?
Do you think it will only have a limited impact on Crypto currency prices?
Will these operations move to countries that allow online gambling?
Will online gambling evolve into illegal sites on the Darkweb?

Let's discuss.  :(

with large amounts of gamblers residing in the USA, crypto market prices of some certain coins will really be shaken, a lot of changes will occur, however even if its going to be ban, people will still make a way to continue it by doing illegally like for example underground.

Once the people started to play regularly then it will be hard for them to restrict from gambling so the bets may happen in underground or on Dark web, until the people knows how to cash out their rewards without getting notified from the government then there will be no problem for the prices of cryptocurrencies.

I think that many gamblers will continue to gamble on online Casinos anyway.
Most of them do not reside in the us, and even in us it's still possible.
You can gamble without any kyc, then just put your coins in a mixer to avoid being identified as an American

Do you think legal operations will close their doors and move underground?

Possibly yes! Online gambling operations are hard to catch and when it mixes with crytpocurrency, it make the operations and players more undetectable. I foresee that smaller operations will move underground and continue to operate and some of them will even move to darkweb to leave no trail of their operations.

Do you think it will only have a limited impact on Crypto currency prices?

I don't think there will be any price impact on cryptos due to this reason. A very minor percentage of cryptos currencies are involved into gambling business. The number is not very significant and hence I don't see any upcoming impact. yes, a temporary impact may be there that will not last long!

Quote
Will these operations move to countries that allow online gambling?

Yes, for bigger gambling operations! Small gambling websites will probably not be able to afford it but bigger gambling houses will definitely move their operations to other countries like Malta where gambling and cryptocurrency both are legal.

I think US is trying to save its offline gambling industry through these changes. Otherwise I see no good reason for suddenly changing its stance towards online gambling! Prohibiting interstate transaction is just a lame excuse!

No impact by my opinion
Most of bitcoin casinos don't ask for KYC and people very well know how to use VPN

It might definitely affect the price since the people who is more casual about it could potentially stop using the services if their favorite one goes down until it moves to another country, for example.

A lot of people do know how to use a VPN which is really easy today but that won't be necessary until blocked at another level which is something i personally saw the U.S. doing before, that sounds more like what oppressive kind of governments do.

I believe there will be a shake that will eventually come back to normal in case that happens.

Thank you for this post! I currently reside in the United States, sucks to see that crypto-based casinos will likely no longer allow US residents to gamble. Most online casinos will likely just stop allowing US IPs to access their site, but a simple VPN's likely enough to bypass this for most sites, and as for crypto prices, I don't really see any major price impact coming up soon. It's true that gambling anonymously is a large part of why many people use crypto, but I believe the number of people using crypto solely for gambling in the US is small enough that prices won't be moved by this.

Hey that’s a sad news if you see it from USA residents point of view, but I don’t think that people from USA will stop playing at online gambling sites. I believe they’ll simply access these sites via VPN, and since they’ll be playing in crypto’s their income will be hidden. When it comes to prices i feel there won’t be any effects on it, also many online casinos are registered in countries which favour online casinos so don’t think anything will happen to their current way of operations.

I do not think it would affect the crypto industry much. The world doesn't contain USA only. There are plenty of people gambling that are outside Usa. There are millions of players gambling in Africa, europa and definatelly Asia as well. And we all know Asia contain the high roller gamblers.

IMO this is actually raise the demand for bitcoin and other crypto currencies
cause let's face it the majority of crypto casinos don't care about laws and you can easily access them and bet whatever you want through a VPN
so I guess that's good news for crypto overall , and maybe for mixers as well

Yes you are absolutely right the thinking of negative way will always know as to the same side of negative thoughts but cryptocurrencies different from any other country currency so it can affect anything when it comes to the good level or it is in the same situation but it will not affect the US currency at anytime.

Especially this type on ground. There will not be a possible situation, illegal gambling will be wipe and from the surface of the internet. The US government will not be able to raise a BAN on the world of cryptocurrencies/gambling.

This is for US only but crypto is for the entire world, I think the more they put a ban on internet gambling, the more people will find a way to gamble.

Some of these sites are legal, but a large amount of them are operating illegally.
I don't think it's right to call them illegal, they are operating because of lack of regulation and when there is no law to supervise this type of gambling then they are not tag as illegal. They are free to operate and the reason why they are increasing is because gamblers chooses a site that does not conduct KYC, where they can gamble anytime maintaining their anonymity.

A lot of gambling operations will most probably shift their operations to some of these independent islands that open their arms for their business. A lot of bribes are paid for gambling licenses and the income generated at these casinos are also generating local income for the people that are hosting these operations. <Even if they are not brick n mortar operations>

These decisions just push people to relocate and to operate illegally. <Dual citizenship & clients have to use VPNs to access these sites>

I think it is going to affect cryptocurrencies market as the only aspects of cryptocurrencies that I have seeing succeeding is gambling and betting.  The icos system and projects are failing.  Traders has lose significant amounts because of the unexpected fall last year.

It will have bad impact on both cryptocurrency and the online gambling. Price will face a reduction because at least 1/10th of the real use of cryptocurrency is in gambling which means the real usage will drastically dropped. So, it will reduce the demand and eventually at the price. Also, gambling industry could have a great future but with the restriction, no chance of flourish.

But all the crypto online gambling players were from USA for to cause the price reduction and even lot of people knows how to hide their identity while gambling online so government is only reduction their revenue from gambling not the players going to be.

Although the US government says internet gambling is illegal, the gambling game will continue and they will find out to figure out how to keep playing with safe. With the internet connection available in many places and with so many VPN that people can use, I am sure that they could still play even in the Darkweb. People could still use cryptocurrency as long as they can hide their IP from the US government scanner so they can play and place the bet.

Those who are addict in gambling will always find their time to play so I think this will not affect the market literally, and of course you can travel in other places and play online if you really want to. Turning gambling online illegal is a big move for U.S, maybe they are promoting more the traditional casinos or there is something else that triggers the government to do this.

People will continue to play and use all kind of anonymous tools to play undisturbed. Tor as far as I know is legal to use in the USA. Then can send the coins to the mixer to withdraw the coins. So the ban in gambling should not provide any problems in the Usa. My country has done the same yet I am playing in sportsbet and even in fiat casinos with some privacy tools.

I think we need a market analysis to understand if there will be any losses and what would be the effect of this action on bitcoin. I don't know how many people gamble online in the US and what is the portion of them based on the total online casino gamblers. I don't like this idea of making online gambling illegal but maybe it is a regulation in order to tackle black markets and untaxed incomes.

This is interesting. Up until today I have been thinking that online gambling was illegal in the US except in Nevada, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I thought players from the US I was talking to on gambling sites were using VPN to avoid the restrictions.

Anyway, regarding the impact on Crypto currency prices, I don't think there will be a big one, if any, because the cryptocurrency based gambling sector is very small(less than 10%) compared to overall online gambling.

You need more effort if you will analyze the potential effect of this one. The market is still the same right now so i don’t think there’s a major impact on cryptomarket. Well, US government have a valid reaon to do this and for sure it is for the benefit of their citizen and to protect the gambler from being scammed online.

Thanks for sharing this! This is quite a news, expanding to ban all online gambling. All the gambling sites now would have a hard time to make things legal, assuming they are illegal at the start or something like that. Anyways, nothing in the article specifically states cryptocurrency casinos but it's most likely to be included.

Do you think legal operations will close their doors and move underground?
Do you think it will only have a limited impact on Crypto currency prices?
Will these operations move to countries that allow online gambling?
Will online gambling evolve into illegal sites on the Darkweb?
Firstly, for the legal operations to move underground, I don't think they will, maybe they would just move to a location where it's legal to operate. If a site goes underground, how do they make sure that their former players will still play? It would be hard for the owner to "announce" something like that.

As cryptocurrency prices go, a lot of people are probably buying just to gamble and in my opinion, there is an impact, but not that much. I think gamblers play doesn't lose at the same time to Buy Bitcoin, it's not that strong to start a pump.

I'm not that familiar with the dark web but I guess if there are certain gambling operations there happening, maybe they could move there and somehow allow themselves to operate there. I don't know about that one.

It can be banned but not completely be wiped out.

Not at all even we do say lots of US crypto gamblers. There are some various ways you can play without being traced up.

Will these operations move to countries that allow online gambling?
With crypto then you can anytime do such thing.

Will online gambling evolve into illegal sites on the Darkweb?
Depends on their decision, either they would completely stop nor continue the business on possible ways.

First Ive heard of it, thats a big negative but I dont think its the end story.   I could have sworn the US government was becoming more open to the idea of gambling as a source of tax revenue, in many countries the business operation for gambling is setup in a special way where revenue has a cut given over to support tax revenues and so its seen as valuable support in recessions etc.

To exclude technology as a development in gambling or any industry is kinda short sighted.  I have to assume this is just one twist in a longer story tbh

I think it will have impact, but I don't think it's going to be a big impact, usually if the case like this happened the site will move to the country that allowed online gambling operations, and there are a lot of ways to keep on doing online gambling although the government ban or forbid it, so don't worry about the news, in some country where gambling is prohibited, we still can see some gambler playing in certain gambling site

Yes, of course. That is why I don't think that the US government will turn gamble online become illegal because they will lose a big tax from gambling business itself. I think they realize about this and I don't think they will not do that. As long as they can get a bigger tax for their country especially it could increase their income in the gambling section, they will still allow gambling online, but maybe they will make some changes about the rule.

Are there plans to ban it? I doubt this is can work unless they ban it global. I guess the numerous gambling sites will move to somewhere else.
I never knew gambling has such impact on the Bitcoin until I started visiting this section.

It seems such news does not have positive or negative effects on the price of cryptocurrency anymore. It's no longer natural movement.

As everything happens online, automatically if they didn't get support they'll move to countries that have got gambling under legal jurisdiction. Gambling being one of the major industry contributing to a big scale growth in the earlier days in terms of price as well circulation will affect the price if online gambling access is limited on countries like USA. Because when the circulation gets lowered automatically the price fall happen.

I think it's time for the USA to make another new regulation if they intend to ban any online gambling in their country. People will really use a tool to not disturb their habitually routine. If they were just going to ban it because the competition is getting complex then i don't know what's the worst thing to happens next.

That would be a pretty bad situation for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. A big amount of online gamblers are from the US and as the cryptocurrency adoption on online casinos is rising every day, Bitcoin could lose a lot of users and Bitcoin casinos could lose a lot of profit and users.

gambling is one of the big markets in the digital currency world. when there is a ban on gambling in the US it will have a major impact on the circulation of digital currencies. as we know that online gambling now the majority have started to apply digital currency in the game system. Digital currency is used because it has many advantages and benefits. we are all in the digitalization era so we really need digital currency as a medium of financial transactions that is safe, easy and has high flexibility.

United States government just wants to ban the casinos that don't pay tax.  They really don't care about the moral ground, they only care about collecting tax revenue.  I'm sure this will boost the use of crypto in the US.

Minimal damage, I think. Since we are in a technological advancement era, VPN could easily be a solution to this problem. Nonetheless, the gambler itself is not aware of the existence of a such tool/s, That I think will start or be the problem. Also, let's also put into consideration the numbers of Online gamblers (Crypto) in the US, if the numbers are valuable then it would be disturbing, but to ratio it against other countries I think the distribution will still be the same.

Yes, I am sure they will find a way to continue playing gambling. It still difficult to stop the gambling online because the websites is not hosted in the US hosting websites and the owner of the gambling site will use foreign hosting to host their sites. Gambling online itself is like a virus which will influence many people to play and it's hard to stop them unless the US government stop the internet connection and they are allow the traditional gambling for the people.

Personally, I don't see this having any significant effect on crypto gambling because this will not be the first time of hearing about how the government in United States have criminalized online gambling with fiat so crypto gambling has never been accepted in the country. I wonder why the ban would then have any effect. Another reason again is that majority of the online crypto gambling sites have by default exempted US citizens from their customer base which means technically, they were never their clients and with this new law, it does not change anything.

Most of bitcoin casinos don't ask for KYC and people very well know how to use VPN
It is true that you can play using a VPN but there are instances where the site will not allow to withdraw the amount if you have won big citing that you are from US and they will show you the terms and conditions about how players from US are not allowed to use the site, so be careful with these scenarios.

I think US is trying to save its offline gambling industry through these changes. Otherwise I see no good reason for suddenly changing its stance towards online gambling! Prohibiting interstate transaction is just a lame excuse!
May be that is the case, the big corporate gambling houses are pushing for these bans and restriction as online gambling has become a billion dollar industry and the profit these online sites earn are just well above the real casinos earn.

Do you really know how to use a vpn ?   Vpn allows you to change you ip and location .  you can also choose different location not only u.s    .   if the gambling site restricts a certain country then better identify it first   .

The bans is not about money  and online casinos arent really popular than the real ones  .  elder and more mature people also find it easy to play on real casinos , thats why real casinos have still got more income that the online versions .

You can gamble without any kyc, then just put your coins in a mixer to avoid being identified as an American
true mostly gambling site doesn't require KYC so it's definitely impossible  that american can determine the players around the internet. actually even though it's restricted no one can stop ppl who have addiction in gambling indeed , because there's always  another ways for it ."the common mindset of some people who have addiction in gambling".  Lol

What if your wallet was tracked by government? We can't say it is not going to happen with every citizen but the people who withdrew huge money into wallet may get noticed and the wallets from gambling sites can also be identified.Even mixing the coins have no assurance that it will be completely anonymous.

Governments are always trying to censor people into doing things that they should not do. In my opinion these are only methods to manipulate people into thinking that the government cares for the future of their country while actually they are not doing much for it. A gambler will always remain a gambler no matter how you try to stop the popularity of casinos or try to stop them from playing.

Once the addiction has settled deep inside them they will continue to find out new ways to circumvent blockades because they need to ease the pain of withdrawal.

Ofcourse it has a huge effect on the gambling world. I see this things particularly.
1. People would not be gambling freely obviously.
2. Gambling would not been removed because even its illegal, people would still play.
3. Bets will be more higher since the risk gets higher also.
4. ICO related gambling would decrease.

I don't think it will affect gambling a lot as I don't think it will hit crypto websites but rather only Fiat casinos. May be in the future they will target crypto in the future but for the moment it should be safe. Crypto mixers can easily hide your identity with a simple VPN.

Definitely, US is one of the places on the planet with a highest population in other words a lot of people also into gambling and also US is one of the advanced country which have an internet connection. Any person on the internet no matter what their age, sexual preferences and status in life can play online gambling and can create an account without verification in cryptocurrency gambling and so many people are into this and if they if the prohibition of internet gambling have been implemented... There's really an effect to the cryptocurrency industry.
Quote
Do you think legal operations will close their doors and move underground?
There's a high possibility since they're earning a lot in gambling industry and of course big companies will do anything to continue their business.
Quote

We are not sure about it, but there's a lot of gamblers in the cryptocurrency industry and there may be an effect to it.

Another alternative I guess and maybe one of the possible solutions but I think there's a lot of process doing it if you're moving to different country isn't? and I think it will cost some money too.

Possible, however most of the gamblers doesn't have enough knowledge about diving into Darkweb and how does it work their niches are in surface web.

I think that many gamblers will continue to gamble on online Casinos anyway.
Most of them do not reside in the us, and even in us it's still possible.
You can gamble without any kyc, then just put your coins in a mixer to avoid being identified as an American
Since Gamblers from US are aware of this issue,i think they are finding ways now to have option incase this will become reality, and as what you’ve said then everything will just be fine though at first we can’t deny that market will be shaken for a while but with adjustments for sure all will back to normal in just a few

What's the point of such online gambling ban?Do they want to gather more tax revenue,or it's just because the online gambling industry is competing with the "brick-and-mortar" gambling industry in Las Vegas and Atlanta. The crypto gambling websites will just go offshore, off course.

It is really unfair for the United States government to ban online crypto gambling, I guess they get their bribes from Vegas casinos.  Corruption is everywhere.

If it become necessary for those gambling site to move out their company from USA for them to remain in business they have to do so. And I don't think a ban in such business in one country can affect the market value of Bitcoin significantly in the world over. If such policy has been implemented in US other countries may not follow suit because some policy difference in most country of the world.

I don't think that will have any negative effect on Bitcoin but maybe a positive effect, most Crypto gambling sites are decentralized and some of them do not require an email registration, this might only drive people from licensed gambling sites to the decentralized sites and they are a lot, banning online gambling might drive online gambler that does not know about Crytpo to start to use Crypto to be able to gamble.

But it will only effect part of gambling operation here in crypto space because US is not representing the whole gambling system of using cryptocurrencies so maybe there are effect but not enough to bring big impact so I believe that we  will be only shaken for a while but sooner the market will stabilize again.

Gambling operator will never stop to find ways for operation so expect some movements from US to other countries that has no regulation for gambling or those government that can be bribed to allow their businesses

It will definitely affect internet gambling because US is one of the biggest market as far as online gambling. Majority could be whales so it will have a significant impact. However, there are lots of ways to go around like using VPN or something, but it would be a big risk for gamblers. But then again, gamblers loves to take risk, it might have a bad effect short term, but in the long run, gamblers will be gamblers.

I also think the issue of the ban will not have a big effect on the price of bitcoin and also crypto gambling. Many websites are prohibited from operating and that is not just gambling, there are still others like pornographic websites for example, which of course website developers have many ways to still be able to operate, and for internet users already have a way to still be able to access it even though the ip has been blocked etc. Yes, VPN is another way for users, but for online gambling I think it's quite risky if we use a VPN, because in online gambling we save money in it which is certainly very sensitive. As long as online gambling is still widely available, I don't think it's a problem, because there are still many countries that have online gambling and not only in the US.

Title: Re: How will the possible ban on internet gambling in the US affect Bitcoin?

States has always been among one of the countries not accepting the online gambling right off for around more than 7-8 years. The acts were made further strict during last month. Gambling sites are quite popular which most of them have its roots from the Nevada and San Fransisco. Online Gambling has become even more quite popular with the integration of blockchain technology with them. These markets not only improve the health of the cryptocurrency market but also act in a more trustless and decentralized way for betting strategies. It is quite true that apart from the usage of bitcoin and other currencies gambling sites have been actively developing their own coins for the purpose of betting in a more easier way. With the complete ban of online casinos and gambling in the States .Anonymous gamblers who have been making a living through this would be forced to find an alternative way. This would make them moving to TOR and VPN services as others pointed out.

Do you think legal operations will close their doors and move underground?
No, why would they close their legal operations which might gain much attention in the future? If the illegal gambling sites are being hidden from ISP services naturally the attention for these gamblers would move towards the legal one. If the casino's own crypto coin which is being used as a mode of payment is considered legal, why would the company move to underground? This would rise the price of coin more.

Do you think it will only have a limited impact on Crypto currency prices?
No, it won't have much impact on the price as this might affect only the volume of the coin. People could be using crypto for casinos which will further be converted to fiat if they need using live trading.

Will these operations move to countries that allow online gambling?
Will online gambling evolve into illegal sites on the Darkweb?
If they are set up in USA, they should move onto other countries like Canada, Australia or New Zealand probably.
Probably yes, but we need to wait to see how this evolves over time.

There's a lot of tricks and different ways to find people there can still play gambling even if it is banned in the US. Since now they are now about that law it is easy for them to use VPN and there are also gambling site didn't require KYC for their customers. However, there are some people who always follow the rules to put in jail in the end. Banning means it is prohibited to play so I think the best way is to obey the law.

When it comes to online things there would really be lots of tools or ways where you can use up to bypass things no matter how its being restricted on a particular place.
Internet gambling ban wont completely shutdown its doors to said residents of such country and you are right they would really find a way to play no matter what without being detected.
Its dangerous if you got caught and you already know the risk of such violation but with the current ways on how to bypass it, they would hardly find on what you are doing.

Yes i agree. There might be an effect on the market but it's not really that big.I think USA is just trying to avoid illegalities in their country so if there are illegal gambling onlines caught, they should be totally vanished.I think online gambling activities with bitcoin are also found in some other countries so they can easily move to these countries too where there is no banning happening.

That is right, they will always find a solution to playing gambling, and I am sure with the easiest way to connect to any websites, they will not get any problem. Besides that, if the gambling websites are registered on the US, then maybe that sites need to pay some tax, and if the US government decides to ban the gambling websites, then I think they will lose big revenue from the gambling business, and that is not good news for them.

For example, in my country gambling is totally illegal even you cannot find any legal casino here, on other side recently our government also consider bitcoin and other crypto currencies as illegal, but still I know a lot of people who are using bitcoin and other currencies for playing gambling online.

I think that gamblers always know it well how to get access to different casinos and play gambling without knowing their law and forces agencies.

Do not let the governments stop your from using bitcoin. Its your choice to use what currency you want but then what is not accepted locally would not be feasible for your daily activities obviously.

In a world where you have VPNs proxies TOR who cares about bans from the governments. Its like slap on the cheek for the law enforcement if you are talking about then in trying to ban gambling sites. People who are addicted wont be stopped by that. They will keep on gambling by circumventing these bans. Obviously a big business runs out there for them and they cannot afford to miss that. Crypto only gives them the better avenue.

Maybe it could affect since that was considered as bad news for crypto but then even if they don't allow it, there are still ways to access the site. So for me, the effect won't be that much. Also not all players came from USA and owners can move into another country if they want to.

Well if it would have any effect at all, i doubt it'll be felt in general. Yeah crypto gambling probably contributes a lot but there are likely more crypto gamblers outside the us than in it. Crypto is so much more than just a gambling means so i think it'll be okay.

Yes, actually the governments still not find a satisfactory solution how to bane a site, in fact there are software which can allow you to visit any kind of restricted site. So, currently I do not think that gambler can find face any issue to visit a gambling site, even if their country have banned the site in their state. I have personal experienced about it, I used some gambling sites using Hotspot shield which are banned in my country.

First of all, why would a government accepts gambling if they will just going to ban it? I think we missed something here relating to the laws about gambling in a certain country. If the government decided to accept gambling in their city then that means they don't have to seize it as long as it follows the regulation without a problem. I think there is something that bothers the government of the US, that's why they have to ban online gambling.

A possibility that most legal gambling owners would go underground due to the government rules and that means it would affect everything in the ground below.

I think that doesn't matter a lot, if someone wants to gamble, then he/she will gamble, especially when it's super easy to purchase VPN in a cheap price and use it. Also if we talk about crypto price here, then to my mind it won't affect price because according to alexa, usa is in least positions of major crypto casinos' traffic .
OP situation won't go that worse as you possibly think.

But I think they will considering to not banning online gambling because if they can take those profit from gambling, they will allow online gambling. Besides that, we could still play gambling using crypto, and I think we can use so many online gambling which using crypto. And crypto was not designed for only playing gambling.

Do you think legal operations will close their doors and move underground?

If they do so, they will cut out a big piece of their revenues and throw it away.

Do you think it will only have a limited impact on Crypto currency prices?

Yes. Why are you thinking about adverse effects only?
Crypto is meant about anonymity and privacy, so crypto like XMR, Dash and other privacy-pegged coins will be used more because gambling is an addiction and nobody can prove this statement to be false. So who can save those gamblers, the real gamblers from gambling?

Will these operations move to countries that allow online gambling?

Quite possible because if they have alternatives nearby, why would they lose on their share of the revenue they are already getting in their field?

Will online gambling evolve into illegal sites on the Darkweb?

Yes, as I said before, there is a high possibility of gambling turning illegal at places where it will not be allowed so not to leave their customers in vain.

Let's discuss.  :(

Despite the significant growth of the online gambling industry, several on-going issues have made some countries reluctant to legalize online gambling. Additionally, a large number of people are deterred from trying out betting games due to problems with trust, security and reliability.

Our team at Faireum is currently developing a platform that will create a paradigm shift in the online gambling industry and solve all aforementioned issues. Faireum will fully implement and run a blockchain-based ecosystem with its own set of protocols, where developers can publish their own Dapps with custom features to meet Online Gambling requirements. The ultimate goal of Faireum is to remove the risk inherent in traditional systems by making it decentralized, transparent and trustful.

But I think they will considering to not banning online gambling because if they can take those profit from gambling, they will allow online gambling.
Apparently the more casinos that appear which do not pay taxes the more the governments will try to ban the access to them. The government is like that - they want money from your gains and will do any method to extort money from your service. The casinos who pay taxes will get the upper hand here and possibly this will happen in future unless some other workaround is found. Defenitely the capital gains from the coin at the price against fiat would be used to calculate it.

Gambling sites and trading are the major expenses for the people in this forum. 8)

I see nothing wrong in casinos paying taxes if that is the case. It going to be tough to get the cryptocurrency based casinos taxed though. I guess if casino generate alot of traffic from the country the government could end up going after them.

Many players will just use a vpn so I don't think this will have any major effect.  USA is one of the few countries that is banning online gambling, they may end up changing their decision when they realize they may be losing tax revenue.

just don't think it will affect gambling a lot as I don't think it will hit crypto websites but rather only Fiat casinos. May be in the future they will target crypto in the future but for the moment it should be safe crypto mixers can easily hide your identity with a simple VPN.
True that its very easy to hide yourself behind VPNs and so the ban is actually something that is not going to have an effect. Humans by nature are curious and there are hundreds of methods to circumvent bans to get to what you desire.

Yes and I am sure they are following local rules for taxations following trades and goods. Now the governments are pure extortionists. They will acquire money off your profits by doing such things and though its not very effective but still it would end up with the owners having to shut down casinos or move their operation to more crypto-friendly locations. But crypto users are more or less accustomed to TOR and VPN so there is no problem as such.

Hahaha, you are right, I am sure that the governments will do whatever it takes to get the tax from tax. The government will protect the casino which can pay the tax on-time and they will make sure that the casino doesn't have any problem.

I am not sure about that because I never search for information about that but I think they get the tax by secretly without any people knows ;D

Logically I believe this will help the price of BTC if internet gambling is banned in America.
Im not certain this will happen though since the individual states are now voting to legalize sports gambling.
I think that America is opening up the doors for internet gambling and not closing them.
