Exactly a year ago, where towards the end of 2017 the price of bitcoin reached $ 15k. Then at the beginning of 2018 the price began to decline to date to $ 3800. Bitcoins are the mother coin for every altcoin present in the current markets. If bitcoin was not what it is today than also the future for each altcoin would have been dark. Well obviously it's still the most popular with many people still thinking crypto is btc. It's likely going to stay that way for a long time. There was a time where Ethereum overtook bitcoin's #1 spot for a brief moment but that was short lived.  Some people think the BTC/ ETH flippening will eventually happen.  I'm not sure but maybe it is possible since companies may start issuing stocks on the Ethereum network.

Well hodl will save you from the short term movements and if you dont get moved by them then you coins would be pretty safe from being sold at manipulation. But also comes into view the fact that how long you can hodl the asset.

Hey yes Bitcoins is the most popular coin, and no alt coin can ever surpass it, they have tried it in the past and have failed. If you remember Bitcoins Cash was said to be the original bitcoin, look where it is, they even tried it with Ethereum and Ripple and look how badly it failed. In my personal opinion I don’t see any coin capable of taking bitcoins ever, due to bitcoin popularity and adoption rate.

Bitcoin is the grandfather of all crypto and digital currencies so naturally it has for now pride of place in the CoinMarketCap. Of course no one knows if blockchain technology will be revamped or updated, or even replaced by other technology in the future, giving Bitcoin less prominence. For now though i think it will probably reign supreme for decades into the future as only a very small fraction of the population owns it or has even heard about it. I think that there will be a time when Bitcoin will be very valuable and it will create a new layer of super rich people in our life time. I do think it already has and many normal people have made life changing wealth by owning Bitcoin and accumulating it over the past ten years, despite the recent bear market.

Even if the prices are how they are, people are still adopting bitcoin and this factor will increase the use of bitcoin and crypto in general. There is no question of its market capitalization cause it have already since early existence of bitcoin. But the people were now so much concern of its price stability and when it back to rise. Of course bitcoin is the most popular coin and used by the people around the world, i don't think any cryptocurrency can surpass bitcoin anytime soon. Coins like Ethereum was born because of bitcoin so if other coins surpass bitcoin in the marketcap rankings it will still be the king because it is the reason why so many coins/altcoins had been created.

Agree! Bitcoin has survived many challenges in the past like price crashes, harsh critics, and numerous FUDs that's been trying to discredit the top coin. At present, the price of the bitcoin is still in declining situation after last year's bearish performance but I believe on its ability to bounce back. There is a possibility that bitcoin may take time before it reach another all-time high but it worth waiting for it.

Bitcoin is popular for two different reasons, the first one is because it is the mother of all crypto and it started crypto and MOST people admires its capability to work as a decentralized. The second one is because the government is seeing bitcoin as a threat and is really threaten by it due to its influence to the majority of the population and their fiat currency is being boycotted by the people and it fvcking hurts them. Government is mad because they are losing their ability to manipulate people because obviously people have woken up and is ready to do what they wanted to do 8)
