Title: Favorite PoS coins
Post by: HippiePyro on January 27, 2019, 05:59:17 AM
So with rising energy costs as well as difficulties rising, I feel PoS coins are the way to go and definitely have a future. What are some of your favorite PoS coins? No masternodes either. While I get the concept, they are detrimental to the goals of decentralization.

NEO is my favorite POS Coin which gives ROI around 5% annually in the form of gas which can be traded on the exchange. Presently the value of NEO is down around 80% to 90% as compared to its ATH price & the traction of NEO blockchain is improving day by day with so many completed & upcoming projects. NEO is the blockchain infrastructure project which offers airdrops as well of upcoming projects like last airdrops of AVA, NOS etc.

DeepOnion, just because only this coin I have in sufficient quantities to get a PoS. 5% per year. This is not interesting - there are assets with much higher returns, but these are not PoS coins.

I hold a few POS coin and my favourite is Neo. I like the technology behind the coin and plan to hold Neo for the long term. Hence, I am happy that by holding to Neo, I am able to earn some gas.

I don't think that with Ethereum's upcoming move to PoS, coins that are existing now can actually challenge its #1 PoS coin position.
Maybe a new contender will come in future.

it is true that PoS is unlike PoW and doesn't have that power consumption but PoS has a very serious flaw which is why none of the coins that are using that algorithm has ever gained any meaningful popularity and remain useless.

that flaw is the fact that they pay you only if you have a "stake" in the coin. it is like making the rich richer. and they all increase inflation and help the price drop become faster as everyone dumps their easily earned prizes.

Truth has been told.

It's favorable to those who can avail it and this isn't ideal for everyone. Ethereum is looking on its change from PoW to PoS soon and I think it will be done soon. What's good with PoS is on your side if you have met the certain minimum amount that you can be eligible for the staking rewards. Every investor will start to chase this kind of investment scheme in the future when there are good coins that will start making this algo.

My favorite pos coin is still HobonNickels. Yes, it is only a clone coin with some special features, already some years old and maybe not a good investment either, but I still like this project. HoboNickels he has a strong network and the developer has always solved all problems. So he's my favorite pos cryptocurrency. If someone wants to know more about the project, you can find all the information here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303749.msg3251164#msg3251164   :)

PoS coins are still a favorite of some people to get passive income from their investments. I still like Neo and still hold it to get Gas as a dividend bonus.

For such a long term investment, PoS coins really brings passive income while holding your assets, Neo give gas that you can sell while waiting
for another pumped, knowing the chinese community if they again start to hype this coin there's a big potential that you will gain a lots of money
coming from this PoS coin, but for a while, enjoy gas and use it as your dividends rewards.

Stakenet (XSN) is a good POS/MN coin with multiple world's first under their belt already. They invented TPoS so you can Cold Stake and it works great. They are also 1 of 24 coins that are integrated on all Ledger devices and Trezor. Soon you will be able to Cold Stake via those devices directly as they are adding TPoS functionality to them. They are also adding Cross-Chain PoS so you will be able to stake XSN but receive rewards in any currency of your choosing.

They are leading devs on Lightning Network and even upgraded LTC's core to bring them up to the latest Lightning standards. As it stands only 3 projects are Neutrino compatible, BTC, XSN and LTC (because of XSN devs). Their next main release will be their Multicurrency Lightning Wallet which is going to be very important, currently they are gearing up for public testing. XSN were the first to complete Lightning Swaps on mainnet and provide a guide for the public to try also. The new wallet will take all that backend work and turn it into a 1 click solution and it will be used as a foundation for the wallets built in DEX. With their Lightning Swap tech it will allow XSN to be used as payment anywhere BTC is accepted. When you pay with XSN a Lightning Swap will instantly convert the asset into BTC for the retailer. Any coin XSN supports in the Multicurrency wallet will also have this functionality meaning that as soon as they launch it people will be able to pay for things using their supported coin anywhere BTC is accepted so that is thousands of merchants and retailers.

They also are adding privacy features and code agnostic Dapps hosting, also have their own hardware division which will be releasing products. They have a cloud staking platform which as well as XSN supports Stratis and PIVX. They also offer trustless Masternode hosting and monitoring. Masternodes are important as all the services/Dapps will run on the MN network and all fee's collected will be paid back to the MN holders. So even trading fee's on the DEX are all paid back to MN holders.

Their biggest issue has always been lack of exchanges (Topia and Livecoin) but they have 3 new exchanges they are being added to this month alone, one of those being OKEx (rank 2)/CoinAll (rank 20) so should finally help them breakout from being stuck on low tier exchanges and expose them to a much bigger audience.

Anyway if you are looking for POS coins then they should be high up your list for research.

Dash imho one of the best POS coins. But the price of their full node is still very expensive. IMHO eth with its 32 for the node can become quite a good coin in the nearest future.

From this Best Staking Coins in 2019 (https://zerocrypted.com/best-staking-coins-in-2019/) you can know which coins to be the best staking coins.

I am trying to stake reddcoin, okcash, and bean since the price is not too high for me to buy a lot of amounts. But I still have a dream to use Dash as staking, but I don't know when it will come true. I think you can start with the lowest coin first and see how much you will get in a year later.

TRX is a decent option (imho) if you got some extra BTC's to spare.  'Staking' is pretty easy to do and they're in the form of 'votes'.

Well I never liked PoS coin because I lose too much money from it,
I invested in one PoS coin it was ACC and used it to get more ACC weekly ,
Then my profit from weekly would be used in their website to mine ETH ,
To be honest I was happy at first but as time past by the value of the token was being dump.
And because of that I lost more than half of my capital.

It is difficult to choose a good PoS coin, but I can tell from my experience that it is better to choose coins with a low annual percentage of remuneration. Here is a list of coins in which you can find an interesting coin for buying and installing a wallet to receive a reward: https://www.poslist.org

I have a lot of good pos coins in my possession, but I think the ones I like so much is EOS and ETH, I love this two projects because I see a prospect in them in the nearest future, we have already began to see that this coins will make name in the future following the coin market.

I like to advise those who don't already have this coins in their possession to make purchase of them now that they are still so cheap in the market before you miss out just like most of us missed out from bitcoin.

That's why it will much better to choose POS coin which has already gained a lot of demand. You can see how ONT, Redd, ICON and any other pos coin can defend its price from dump. i have been staking all of my coins in ONT and i have no problem till this time.

NEO is my favorite POS Coin which gives ROI around 5% annually in the form of gas which can be traded on the exchange.
I've become a very big fan of NEO myself, and of some other PoS coins.  As I've mentioned in other threads, the thing that really attracted me to NEO was that you don't have to leave the wallet running all the time in order to earn GAS.  I stake PIVX and sometimes my internet gets spotty and it disconnects.  It doesn't bother me that the price of NEO got beaten down in the past year, because that allowed me to buy in relatively cheap.  We'll see how that whole project works out, but in the meantime I'm happy to at least be earning some income from it.

Ethereum is looking on its change from PoW to PoS soon and I think it will be done soon.
I don't know about that.  I've heard it won't be happening soon--but who knows?  I'll tell you one thing, though.  If ETH does move to PoS, I'll probably invest in as many coins as it takes to start staking.  I've heard it isn't too many--but I just can't bring myself to start buying any right now.
