ICOs Are Back in the Game?

BitTorrent Completed it’s 7.12 M USD Fundraise on Binance Launchpad in Less Than 15 Minutes

The much anticipated BitTorrent ICO on Binance Launchpad took place today.
Both the BNB and TRX sessions of the ICO ended in under 15 minutes, selling 59.4 billion BTT tokens ($7,128,000).

BitTorrent ICO Completed Successfully

The first results of Binance Launchpad – the cryptocurrency’s exclusive ICO platform, are already in.

BitTorrent, which was acquired by TRON’s Justin Sun in late 2018, had its initial coin offering completed in under 15 minutes, selling out 59.4 billion tokens,
The ICO was held in two sessions which were run in parallel. Both of them started at precisely 3:00 PM UTC on January 28th, 2018.

In the first session, users were able to purchase BTT tokens using Binance Coin (BNB). One BTT was priced at 0.00001824 BNB, meaning that 1 BNB bought 54,824.56 BTT tokens. This session ended exactly 13 minutes and 25 seconds after it had started.

In the second session, users were able to purchase BTT tokens using TRX. One BTT was valued at 0.00447261 TRX. Unlike the BNB session, however, this one had minimum and maximum limits set in place. The minimum amount users were able to buy using TRX was 100,000 BTT, while the maximum was set at 166,666,666 BTT. In any case, 1 TRX purchased a total of 223.58 BTT.

Interestingly enough, both sessions, while running in parallel, were successfully completed in less than 15 minutes.

I second the above opinion. This one is an exception because Justin from TRON has acquired BitTorrent which immediately increased the credibility of that project. Otherwise the ICO market is pretty dull at this moment and majority of the ICOs are getting delayed.

This ICO is very famouse. It is supported by TRON team and also the team used their blockchain. I think that there are only a few ICOs now in which I can invest. But as for me, it's much better to buy tokens from exchange.

Is it just me or do more people find that the cap was/is pretty high for just such small percentage (59.4 billion) of the total supply (990 billion)? Also have my doubts about the use-case of this...

Let me add that there are other projects that have reached the hardcap successfully but more time with a much larger capital such as
wpp energy with $ 50m
hara token reached hardcap in 30 hours

I see that the lesson learned is that the good project imposes itself.

What is the definition of a good project? Hardcap does not explain anything, look at WPP energy for example. What did they do all these months?
and hara token does not have anything to proud of other than this claim, it is not the first time we are seeing this. A couple of projects did that before in 2017 and early 2018, but only a few of them that could deliver whatever they were promised for.

wow, that is really impressive. apparently a good project can still collect a lot of money with a ico in a short time. icos do not seem to be as dead as many people say.

That's right and just try to pick up some coins when it listed on the exchange site. Remember about the fact that it has launched on the binance launch pad and that increases the demand to the platform or ico. Just waiting to pick some coin when it listed on exchange site.

There are so many factors which caused the FOMO in bittorent ICO. Firstly, the fact that TRON is backing it is a big bang,  secondly it was sold via Binance launchpad, thirdly the hype with regards the dapp technology was top notch. So that's why it sold out really fast.

When it is going to hit market, that time is good to buy as if you follow the TRX launch then if they follow same means it will give you good returns. I am just waiting for its trading date. Can you tell me when it is going to start its trade.

largely due to Tron coming to the rescue and lots of backups and partners Those things make it a very good ico and one thats likely to make impact nothing more or less man

Due to the early advertisement and marketing of Tron and Binance = $$$ for them.

ICO is still the same as before, BitTorent can be successful because of several factors including:

  • Supported by Binance
  • Good team
  • Big community

But the biggest factor is Binance, because the IEO implemented at binance makes many people believe to invest

Just because the bittorrent ico was successful, it is not a sign that icos are back. Although it shows that there are still successful icos, but still the ico market is almost dead.

Yes, good sign. While tbh I am not at all optimistic on that. It cannot reflect the whole market situation. I will wait for a while and move according to how it goes with all the regulations.

The regulations are a good way to prevent scam projects, in this way only good projects live, which is a win-win for both good projects and investors.
The most important thing is how to tread a very fine line with these regulations, to build a healthy cryptocurrency market and meanwhile not hinder the development of it (Like Basis protocol, it raised 133M but stopped by SEC and now they are totally ended). So obviously, there is not a balance now for this...

However, if you are interested in the blockchain projects that have the most potential I would say would be these 5:

1. BitTorrent (https://www.bittorrent.com/)
2. Marconi Protocol (https://marconi.org/)
3. Historia (http://historia.network/)
4. StarkWare (https://www.starkware.co/)
5. Oasis Labs (https://www.oasislabs.com/)

I love the way neither bitcoin nor ethereum was used in the fund raise, we need to start trying a lot of new things to help the market. For a startup of $7.5m is good, at the bottom of a bear market the amount is capable to reach any height. The time or period of fund raise is a good sign that investors are smarter and if more good projects with good use cases are funded, they are capable of driving the market. WPP ICO took more than 6 months and time table was staggered to achieve the hard-cap

you can not really compare a big name such as "bittorrent" with the rest of the ICOs. in fact it is not the "ICO" that raised that much money, it is the big name which is also associated with another legend called "Bram Cohen" and that has led to the big fundraising.

but people are missing the fact that Bittorrent was sold a long time ago to another small person who created Tron and is no longer the same. i actually was always wondering why they bought it, now i know they had 7.12 million reasons to buy it :D

Good,at least we have a first successful ICO to raised fund under 15minutes which is the first of the year ,if all ICOS can be like this then it will help in general ,I hope we see more like it this 2019
