Title: App won't sync anymore

I received a payment to my wallet on the andreas schildbach wallet for android and I'm not sure why but it appears to have stopped syncing. I've left it open for half an hour and the last blocks it received were yesterday... I've tried it on WiFi and data and got nowhere, has anyone come across this issue?

Problems with sync in this and some others Android based wallets could be in Android 8.0 version which have battery optimization and this is preventing some apps to sync. You can try to deactivate this option in Settings -> Special App Access and turn off this option for wallet.

Owner of this wallet is also say that he is working on fix for this issue in September 2018, and last wallet update was in December 21, 2018. Maybe he is fixed this problem, so check do you use the latest version.

I can't find the option for that on my phone?

I went into settings > apps and clicked on the wallet and everything seemed as though it should connect.

Which version of Android you use? This settings is only for Android 8.0 and above, but there is also instruction how to check app permissions on lower version of Android.

  • Control your app permissions on Android 6.0 and up (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6270602?hl=en)
  • Review app permissions thru Android 5.9 (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6014972?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&oco=1)
  • Android 8.0 Behavior Changes (https://developer.android.com/about/versions/oreo/android-8.0-changes)

If nothing of above help you try to clear cached data in : Settings -> Device -> Storage -> Cached Data. Maybe your phone is low with storage space.
You can also try to contact owner, by posting in GitHub or in Google Play under wallet comments.

I'm attempting to replay the thing.

It's 8.1 I think. I'll dig out the old phone if I can't get anywhere, that has the seed on it.

Edit: the issue is eduroam ill have to use data.
