Title: Benchmarks 1070ti vs 2070 vs 2080
Post by: GoRdiE on February 03, 2019, 12:12:09 AM
Hi all.

I have done some test comparing algos, miners and cards to the same consumption. I recently acquired a 2070 and a 2080 and wanted to share with you the results obtained in case someone is in the same position.

Likewise, any doubt or comment on the results provided is welcome, as well as any advice to carry with maximum efficiency our laborious task of mining altcoins.

The base card of the comparison is a 1070 ti, which I think is one of the most versatile and efficient cards in terms of result, consumption and price. But with the release of the Nvidia 20 series, it's time to update our rigs to achieve maximum efficiency.

In terms of OC, I must agree that I have 4 1070 ti of different brands and models and although all of them get stable with a Core OC of +185 and MEM +575, in this case and to match conditions with the new cards, I have taken as a base a random 1070ti card and I applied the MSI Overclocking Scanner to automatically obtain a stable first result for the cards of the comparison without taking them to its maximum possible OC. Logically, with a little patience a more efficient OC is achieved for each of them. For example, the 1070 ti is perfectly stable at +575 Mem and +185 Core, and the 2070 has reached +900 Mem being perfectly stable.

You'll see that some cases there is no correct benchmark or lack thereof, it is due to the configuration of miners and pools that sometimes have to be tuned a little and in this case, I would have to spend a lot of time on it, so any additional bench you can ask me if it were necessary.

Comparison notes:

-Software used Awesome Miner (for me the best and most complete mining software, but with a complex learning curve) and MSI Afterburner.
-All cards with OC MEM -502.
-I have taken as a basis the consumption of the 150W for which the 1070ti and the 2070 are in AB (MSI AfterBurner) with a PL of 85, and for the 2080 a PL of 70.
-You will see the algo, the miners and a column that is the 1070ti is seen like 'configured'. The last column is the new 20..
-In 'configured', you only see the best result for all the miners in the algo, but it is highlighted the best miner.

I looked at those pics and I don't understand whats going on.  You should really narrow only relevant coins people will mine.

Your testing asics algos  and shitcoin algos  which is not necessary

Just test a few popular algos and coins.

Eth , bitcoin gold, aion, Grin, Beam, raven

Your making it way more complicated so please simplify and spare yourself and everyone else time.

How about you give us a summary then on which would be best for mining based on current prices?
