How easy was the process?
have been using bitcoin and ethereum to pay for my phone bills
I actually do it to support the use of crypto as a currency

I use bitcoin to buy many sort of things in my country, nothing official tho, no bills no shit, but we have a local groups on FB where people would  sell you whatever you need in exchange for your bitcoin, and they usually pay anywhere from 1% to 8% above market price- depending on the supply and demand, simply because our central bank is not a big fan of crypto and they consider it unsafe.

a funny thing too, i went on a vacation last month , and rented a serviced apartment i found online, i out of no where asked the guy if i could pay in bitcoin "was thinking he doesn't even know what that was" and he said yes yes ! most differently accepted , with a big smile.

I have bought many things with BTC: from coffee to graphics cards but I have never been able to use it to pay a phone or electric bill or my taxes. That day is not close to being here (I'm in the US).

Every once in a while you hear about a state, NH for instance, where it is being debated.

I don't find this a deal breaker. I consider one of the values of crypto is that it is apart from the state.

I have  used  bitcoin to buy many  things in many shopping websites but in my country i can't use it because transactions with bitcoin are not legislative yet.

Yes! here in the Philippines we have the coins (name of the app) which can be use as a payment for electricity bill and water bill, so far so good no need to wait for queue to pay bills, it can buy prepaid load I buy prepaid load mostly for my internet connection.
I hope there can be also a restaurant here that supports bitcoin as a payment, I'm waiting for it :)

I've never used Bitcoin for any purchases. I've always thought of Bitcoin as digital gold, and as a form of wealth protection. Since I've been playing on CoinBase, I may use some of the coins there for purchases, and this will mean I don't have to touch my HODL wallets. What is more likely is that I will install a Lightening node, and use that to send and receive payments.

The Philippines are way ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to BTC payments/acceptance. Its very impressive.

They can use coins.ph app to pay for all sorts of things. And they even have BTC atm machines.

I have purchased a couple of things from people in remote areas of the country. To avoid the fees forced upon us by eBay, Paypal and those of that ilk, we used Bitcoin and it worked just grand.

I've also sold two cars for Bitcoin, even listed my house at one stage for BTC.

I never spent BTC, but I did spend ETH, even though in was not quite in my country as I was abroad. I spent it while I was in Ireland through crpyto app to buy gift card for Amazon.

In my post titled; Bitcoin adoption: Don't just sit down, do something (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5095408.0) I narrated how a barber I introduced to Bitcoin started accepting Bitcoin and that's the shop I have been barbing my hair ever since. Also in my post about The used of Bitcoin in Africa (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5109224.0/) I highlighted online shopping as one of the ways Bitcoin is been used and personally I have shoped severally with Bitcoin although the price are always a little bit higher than fiat online stores. I have also eating in a restaurant and paid via bitcoin actually the restaurant owners doesn't accept Bitcoin but she runs a manual exchange service and when I requested to pay via bitcoin she accepted my offer (this happened last week and she showed interest in accepting bitcoin as a payment option that's if she sees s good number of customers willing to pay via BTC)

Not yet as I haven't seen any service that accepts bitcoin as a payment here. I would most certainly use it if i saw one.
I however do use bitcoin for online shopping on certain bitcoin accepting vendors and other online services like cell phone voucher refills

In my country there are only a very few websites accepting bitcoin and im personally not interested in buying anything from there. Thats the only way i could spend bitcoin in my country so i prefer to keep it or use it for other services that i need.

For me, using bitcoin for any payment in my country is like a day dreaming. Why? Because of the regulation, the rule clearly stated that the only legal payment method is using "Rupiah" (my country's fiat money). Means that other payment method is illegal, so if there is transactions/payments using bitcoin or any other method might result in a big problem as it is against the government's law.

Not at all, none in my area accepting BTC as far as I know although some eatery stalls were featured on the news.

Well, yeah there was a case after which I do not buy a thing per bitcoin now. In the forilum I saw an announcement about selling of IPhone 5 per bitcoin. Actually sum was smaller than in a shop, if to turn the price in dollars, so, I was hooked and scammed.

Well most of the time I use my Bitcoin to buy Load since I always wake up late in the evening,
And also used to pay our electric and water Bill,
Our Local wallet here in the Philippines could be used to pay any bill .

Thanks for reminding me, I visit barber regularly to keep my beard in shape and I saw a barber that I plan to visit to see how he works, has good reviews, and he is one of the first barber in my country that started accepting payments in BTC and ETH for his services. That will be my next BTC payment in my country.

They mainly offer electronics and toys, the process was pretty easy (though i can't remember which payment gateway they used, think it was BitPay) and the delivery fast.

I never used bitcoin or any other crypto to pay a service in my country.
I used a virtual credit card / real one, charged with bitcoin, but is not the same

Some bitcoin meet up in Roma o Milano offered the chance to pay with coins during meetings.
Fortunately I have not drink any cocktail valued today 300-400$ :D

There are still too few places where I live that accept cryptocurrency as a payment method, and even worse some of the few first movers who once accepted crypto payments, have now stopped accepting crypto. However the crypto community is growing, we are just hodlers.

I've accepted Bitcoin for domain name sales. This was via direct p2p sales, and receipts from my registrar for sales through his market place.

Does it count if one used crypto to purchase the platform token and use token to purchase the service, simcard (not virtual) for example MiracleTele platform? Crypto is crypto right 😄

It is no problem to spend crypto in the netherlands nor to buy it. More and more online shops are excepting it.
Most larger retailers will use a fiat exchange on the back end when you pay them but the smaller ones tend to accept it direct.

I never used bitcoin to pay any payment with offline, but I already used bitcoin to pay phone bills online because there is a local third-party service for people from my country. But I still prefer to use fiat to pay my daily needs or my other expenses because I only need to convert my bitcoin to fiat first before I can pay that transaction. But I guess that in the future when bitcoin is accepted in my country, I will see that there is a local merchant that will want to accept bitcoin or another coin as the payment method.

Oh! Now I remembered.. I once used crypto to purchase a tech from a platform. What was the name again 🤔 Damn...can't recall vividly.

I've bought with Bitcoin a good couple of times. But not lately, since the crypto winter has come.

First time was very strange and rather stressful. It was at an online shop and the payment processor (Netopia) has a time limit (20 minutes?) for seeing the transaction (not the confirmations!). I made a mistake: I tried to pay by withdrawing from an exchange. Of course, the exchange didn't send in time, so I had to discuss with their support and so on.
Next times I knew and used my own wallet. And everything went fine. Of course, they need a number of confirmations. Of course, I've learned meanwhile that the shop interface doesn't update in time to show that there are the confirmations and everything is OK, so now I just don't follow the process after I've sent the coins. Most of the things I bought with Bitcoin were from this one online shop.

Another surprise was when another shop was using BitPay as payment processor. I didn't know what to do, since it was no address to send to. Luckily I've pasted that "invoice" into Electrum and it knew what to do with it.

I've also paid one my bills with Bitcoin, but that was only a test and I found the excess they were asking for their services was a bit big.


I bought Bitcoin at self-pay machines. I've seen Bitcoin ATMs lately, but I didn't use them (yet?). I've used also some local exchanges.
The means to buy, sell or spend Bitcoin are slowly growing in Romania, I can't complain.

It has been years that I am using my local bitcoin exchange in topping up my phone because of the rebates afterwards.
I bought also in an online shop via bitpay. I prefer not to touch my bitcoin as much as possible.
Having bitcoin is like a reserved option for me because I believe that one day, its value will grow again.

Yes I did use it as a payment in our country I used our local wallet to buy some cellular load and also to top up some of my online games.
I also use it to pay some online merchant that I know luckily I have a friend who sells some online product and I use my crypto to pay for some products for my wife as gift.

Nothing direct transaction for now but we use btc then jist converted to our fiat currency then use for online payment like internet, pay bills, buy load and even for online shopping we can use that. We have wallet called coins. Ph, it has lot of features  like having btc, eth, bch and xrp wallet and of course our main peso wallet. Hopefully the day comes where btc can use direct transaction in physical and online world

not once the problem in my country is that it still prohibits users from making payments using bitcoin and other crypto until the garbage government legalizes bitcoin

unfortunately for me , i havent used crypto to pay for anything ever since i got involved in 2016, though i do have a couple  of friends who have sucessfully bought some great items with btc and eth , the last time i tried paying my phone bill with crypto, the fee was really out of this world so i backed out and never tried again

Bitcoin is actually making our lives more convenient in our country. It's multifunctional, it's not just good for a long term investment but the fastest mode of payment as well. We're using it to buy mobile electronic load, to pay utility bills and even to pay for tuition fees in chosen universities. There are also establishments who are planning to adopt bitcoin.

In my recent trip to Singapore I have used, many cryptos as a currency, I even paid in DAI while purchasing tickets to Universal Studios.

I did for a couple of times. Here in our country, we are allowed to transact and use bitcoin as a mode of payment.
We can pay straight to our utility providers through our platform which is coins.ph.
It made every transaction more convenient and faster and we could actually gain rebates through it.

I haven't and to be fair I wouldn't for the time being. Paying my bills using e-banking has no fees in my country. If you are asking about paying for groceries on point of sales I also use my debit cards, as again as a consumer I get charged 0 transaction fees (the bank fees are charged on the merchant). So even if the fees are 30cents it wouldn't be economical wise to pay for these. Now lets say per month I use my debit cards 100 times on average. This sums to 30 bucks on fees every month if I was using bitcoin transactions. Instead using debit cards all fees are paid by the merchant side. Also 99.99% of transactions are instant. What we told people that transactions using bitcoin were instant and feeless was a lie after some time. Perhaps it was like this in the beginning but this changed a lot. Especially in the end of 2017 when we had a million pending transactions and 50$ fees. Probably things will change with the use of lightning network but for the time being, looking at the best options you have for payments, these are ebanking and debit cards.

I mainly used BTC for withdrawal, BTC to my local fiat. Maybe the exchange fee, you know transactions always have a fee.
As long as i know, I didn't use it to pay for my bills or buying things with Bitcoin.
But there's a lot of merchants here that accepts BTC.

I've used eth and btc online to pay for goods but people in my country are still apprehensive towards Cryptocurrency

i have a debit card with bitcoin wallet (wirex) and i use it to buy almost everything in my country...

I was actually going to do that because we have a very useful exchange site that can also be use to pay bills and game purchases but the idea that bitcoin is just popping in value always at 2017 stopped me. However, I tried it one time to load my mobile sim card and I have never paid anything with btc after.

Yea, they also convert your bitcoin to local currency and can send them to your bank account which will be easier to spend through ATM card or send them to any money transfer company. Its good there is this platform and I hope in the future they can also be used in buying things like pizza online and be connected with Lazada or OLX so one can shop online easily with no hassle.

only digital currency allowed to my country, We can able to use Ethereum, XRP, and BCH too.

I know some merchants related to selling electronics accepts bitcoin as payments but they are not having this feature in public for some reasons so if I have bitcoin then I can buy things with it.

you are lucky man, my country is one hell of a place, most people are very slow in adapting to technologies like this, they either call it scam or don't think it will succeed, but am here, waiting and hoping for a day when crypto will be very popular over here as it is in some major countries of the world, by then, I can spend crypto to buy close to anything I want
