I’m a long term hodler. Have had a few LTC since 2014, always been a fan.

I’m consolidating my portfolio.

Would you rather 4Eth? Or 12.5LTC?

Which would you choose and why?

Good question. I'd go with ethereum for the next 2 months then switch them over to litecoin. This will take advantage of their reduced inflation events, although market now is very unpredictable

For me i will choose ETH if i am invest for long term. ETH is one of the best coin in cryptocurrency and that's has proven. Hopefully ETH fork can increase ETH prices again.

4 ETH, because DAPPS are in uplift and the bigger gainers from this will be Ether, Tron and EOS.
Litecoin is one of the dinosaurs around and I don't see any significant innovation there.

there are a couple of protocols that i always follow to maximize my profitability while reducing the risk.
- i don't hold any altcoins. the only thing that i hold for long term is bitcoin
- altcoins are only good for me when they are getting pumped and that is when i buy them just to sell on top of the pump.

with that said if you still insist on doing it i would suggest investing in both but in LTC more because when bitcoin starts rising LTC will follow it stronger than any other altcoin, in fact others like ETH may even drop if bitcoin starts rallying specially if it has the hard fork split coming.

actually i think both of them are dinosaurs right now if you consider that. but the fact that LTC is one of the oldest coins in the market will give it a big edge.

but if you are looking for big profit then you shouldn't be looking into these big old coins in firs place. you either go full bitcoin for low risk with high profit or you go with smaller altcoins for higher risk and since they get pumped a higher profit.

Even if ICO market is in crysis I still prefer Ethereum to Litecoin.. I really don't see concrete advantages of Litecoin compared to Bitcoin while ethereum is different and has a different purpose.

IF I am, I will choose to hold both, 70% for Ethereum and 30% remaining for LTC because they are all good coins which shouldn't miss in the long-term portfolio

It is not a good Idea just use your extra money to have litecoin. Because I love both this coin and I have a lot of litecoin and ethereum .
just keep your ethereum that you have and better to have goal to have buy more litecoin when you have extra money keep your ethereum better to find another way to have litecoin.

I also expect that prices for LTC will rise, because the news about the development of LTC is actually very encouraging. Therefore, it seems to me that it makes sense to continue to buy.

Right now I will continue to choose ETH to hold. LTC had a successful price increase and it is too late to buy and hold it

I prefer ETH because this ethereum platform is a clear platform and has many users. Even ETH is currently ranked 2nd according to CMC, and many ICOs are using this platform. I think ETH is more potential in the future than LTC

You can split it for both of coins, both are having sustainable development dude. Remember about the fact that you must see that about there was a lot of good rumour about litecoin while at the same time ethereum will get less and less on its inflation.,

If I do, I will choose ETH. I have been investing in ETH for a long time and have gained a lot of profit. Maybe you can try it.

I do not see the point, change the flea. If ETH grows up again, it will bring much more profit. Is it worth to change here? Go to the hold and wait for a new good price.

As for today i will choose to stay with ETHEREUM. if you just see the market ETH is more valuable now than BCH.
They are rising in the market now and will continue to grow as i see the demands and the graph.

the two altcoins are very good to be a long-term investment. because it has a large volume and a clear concept and the team is able to develop the altcoin to date, so many investors are interested in entering it. if I prefer ETH even though currently the market price does not address developments but I am sure ETH has a good future.

It's up to you if you will trade your ethereum for litecoin but for me I will stay holding ethereum because they will have upcoming hard fork which might triggered the price to increase again. Even both of them belong to the top solid coins I still choose ethereum than litecoin.

Agree with you,  Eth has more to offer than ltc, Eth is the core foundation for most altcoins, this will definitely make it standout in the future once things are sorted out.

I think ETH is good to hold too cos I can see the value of 4eth will worth enough than 12.5 ltc in future regard the present value but I think you can have more funds to still invest in both as they are both strong coin to have as a crypto user.

As for me, I don't think you should trade your ETH for LTC. Unless you want to trade 1/4 of your ETH holding or so. Well, it's always up to you to decide when it comes to matters like this, in the long run you either rejoice or regret your action, so it's a two way thing. Just decide wisely.

I think that youre to late for the litecoin train this time, if you want to buy more litecoin then wait until it have falling longer down after last weeks pump. The price of ETH did good last week also, so you still made a good gain. I would either wait until litecoin have falling longer down, before it will do next pump. I still waiting for a good entry point for litecoin, I think it will do good this year, with a halving and as a privacy coin.

I think that litecoin will lose its position in terms of capitalization. Personally, I don't see the potential in this coin.

Trading ethereum and used for any other investment will not be a good idea because we had some opportunities to hold on get income and profits so holding and making more traffic today good for me.

for myself I have sold my digital assets in early 2018 and want to start back at the beginning of this year, I will start by starting to hold Ethereum again because I still believe in Ethereum.

Sorry LTC but I will choose ETH this time.
There something about it that can pull more investors into it rather than LTC.
Although I may leave some of my funds to LTC just so to be sure.

Exactly one of these two coins I choose 4Eth. To date, Eth shows better and more sustainable results in terms of development than the LTC platform does. I'm not saying that LTC is a bad coin for investing and holding, but if there is a choice, then for me it is obvious in favor of Ether.

I would leave both, I now have 20 percent LTC and 20 percent ETH, I am satisfied with both of these projects, I see a great future for them.

I would prefer ethereum, I like its technology, and I believe that the platform has not yet revealed its full potential, we are waiting for the update.

Getting ethereum nowadays i dont think its a great option since they are postponing the constantinople upgrade.

litecoin can be a choice of coins for trading, because eth and litecoin are one of the popular coins. so if you want to trade ltc with eth it's natural and it can be a profit.

I prefer to keep 4 ETH, over 600$ and etherum gives me faster and easier oppurtunities to participate in an ico, or probably send in my eth to purchase a token via the etherum trade pair.

Etherum pairs on exchange with other altcoins always have better volumes, so why keep litecoin ?

Litecoin is best preserved for long term investment or better still means of  payment.

honestly if i want to hold long term I prefer LTC because I always acces my eth wallet sometimes what I plan is always not suitable I always want to sell eth every time price up.

in my opinion it's better to save ETH because soon there will be a HardFork Ethereum Constatinopel.
4 ETH is a decent amount and can get free coins from HardFork ETH.

No, litecoin has grown a lot for last month, so I am waiting for correction and as for ethereum , it has potential for growth, you know. So stay away of it and better hold ethereum!

I would leave everything in Ethereum, the upcoming hard forks can have a very positive effect on the price of the project. Then I would look at the situation, all the same it is better to remain flexible in the current market. Probably diversification could be the solution.

I think I still want to choose ETH instead of LTC. LTC is quite potential and totally free to trade all over the country but it will never be as good as ETH. You know, ETH is still charged at MEW wallet system, but it is used by many ICO projects.
Community and fame are the things I value most in choosing to invest in electronic currencies. so I will choose ETH because it is likely to grow better than LTC.

Going by the number of the two different coins in your portfolio, I would rather leave them as they are because both coins are good but on the other side, considering that etheruem is mostly favoured by altcoins ,one on one ,I would choose etheruem.

Personally, I prefer ETH over LTC. IMO, both coins are good, you do not need to trade all your LTC for ETH. Perhaps you can keep 50% of your LTC and use the other 50% to trade for ETH.

I still choose Ethereum because this coin still has big supporters. And with Ethereum you can invest in ICO. LTC is also a good coin and I get good results from LTC. But if for a long-term investment, of course, I will choose Ethereum.

If and only if i have that LTC i will change your ETHEREUM.

I will choose 4 ethereum compared to 12.5 LTC. because my favorite coin is ethereum and also I invest there. many advantages of ethereum so I chose this.

I would definitely go with LTC because LTC is lately doing some cool development. Also, LTC is less riskier than ETH, in the long run, ETH may have some less usage while LTC usage will not be decreased.

Trading Ethereum in exchange for Litecoin could've been done weeks ago when the price of Litecoin was around $33, now the value of Litecoin have reached $around $43. Investing now could get a profit in long term, having ethereum and Litecoin is almost the same from my personal view.

I will go  4 ETH  rather than 12.5LTC, truly LTC is doing fine now but I believe with time time ETH will be better investment.

Litecoin is also a promising coin in my opinion. If you decide to exchange your Ethereum for litecoin, then do it. I am also considering this coin for purchase.

I know more about ETH than I do about LTC, but ETH looks underpriced still, and has been rising quite well recently. Whether prices will drop or continue to rise following the Constantinople upgrade is the question I suppose - might be better to wait until that becomes clear.

This is not a right time to trade ethereum and investing on LTC because it need some more time to watch the market carefully and after trading will be ok for me if the price of both was good then we can exchange and invest and any other side.

Yes, I believe that the investment in litecoin will be very profitable now. Ethereum is also possible to show itself well in the long term, but litecoin is also a very good investment.

The price may be cheaper simply because it's still not at the top of the charts,the ethereum ranks second and rightly it's price should be higher than that of LTC
Talking about long term,ethereum has far more potentials based on the outlook for now,and in a bull run,it would be much more better to be in possession of ethereum than LTC

In my opinion, it depends on our short-term or long-term ownership, of course if the short term is still not suitable for trade or investment. From the quality of ETH and LCT, everyone knows its potential, so far I am still confused by the current Cryptocurrency condition which is quite chaotic. Find each answer by analyzing both and market movements.

You can split them, because I would not sell Ethereum few weeks before the hard fork. I have no doubts that this coin is going to raise and maybe will cross 200 USD before the end of February when Constantinople hardfork is going to be released. LTC has some announcements as well, so I would split you deposit into two parts.

Both coin has nearly the same price action, both will going up and down at the same times. So both has potential to offer the same potential profit, so in my opinion divide your money in to each 50%.

Both are great coins and trying to time which one will outperform the other over next month or two is not easy to do at all. It is better to have a position in both of these coins if you can. Trying to trade in and out of one coin into another does not work profitably many a time.

I will still choose Ethereum because, in my opinion, the growth of LTC is very slow. I like Ethereum because this coin has enormous potential. And now Ethereum can also pump suddenly and this will definitely have a good impact on all Altcoin. So it's very important to have Ethereum.

eth has a better path than litecoin, et is a trusted platform and has a clear direction compared to litecoin, in the future I see Ethereum will have strong roots in cryptocurrency, so it's better 4 Eth than 12.5 LTC, if you want to hold it .

with ethereum having a hard fork and the fact that it didn't even get pumped, i consider it as a negative signal that may end badly soon so i would stick to any other altcoin for trading until i see a clear sign of certain trend in it be fore i touch it again.

for now this hard fork can cause a split and the changes that it introduced might also introduce new bugs into ethereum that can be exploited like DAO and kill the price in an instant.

I have never had an LTC and i always focus to ETH for long term invest since the first time I knew crypto.  For me ETH it is profitable investment.

Both of them were competitive coins but considering their market volume, ETH is leaving LTC behind far enough and this could be some basis of gaining profits.

Ethereum will be my best option if I'm to choose between Litecoin and Ethereum. The market value of Ethereum has the highest possibility of reaching $1000 than that of Litecoin. Litecoin is not a bad coin anywhere but in terms of the increase in market value, Ethereum has the best market value.

The litcoine halving date are still 5 months away, I personally bought a few litecoin a few weeks ago. I think the price of litecoin will go up in the coming months up to the halving date and we will also hear more news about privacy transactions on the litecoin network. If I was you I would sell 1 or 2  ETH for some LTC, and then keep them to next halving date.

Both have great potential but due to your limited funds, if I were to choose between having 4 ETH or 12.5 LTC, I will go with ETH because it has a greater potential of ROI.

Recently, litecoin was seen growing wonderfully well, but that is not enough to think that it can be used to replaced with ethereum.

ETH performance is not bad if we consider this project to be in the market since 2015!

Well, that dicision is your to make. Both are still good cryptocurrencies.
One may be profitable than the other If you are more interested in profit. Holding long-term may not be the best idea in this current market.
You could sell some and try day trading instead.

If there is a 50-50/chance then I would go for that. But if I gave to choose one of them I would stick to ethereum always. Cause I really like the idea of ethereum. I know they got any problem but after ethereum 2.0 will be a relief cause in this hard fork they will work on scalability and ten fees. And maybe in upcoming days we saw many more ideas. I think that now is not the best time to change your Ethereum for Litecoin. I think that in the near future, Ethereum will show better growth than Litecoin.

I like both of these coins and I don't know which one I would choose. I prefer to invest in both of them. They are both promising in my opinion and it is better to keep them, because it can provide more profit.

After the successful hardfork Ethereum seems to be a better option, but the truth is that it is not good to invest in only one coin. I would invest half of the funds in ETH and half in LTC.

just sell your ltc, because now is the right time for hodl etherum. etherum will go back up, and if you sell now you will lose the bull run etherum moment.

It's just ok to change investment plan when you have tired of waiting on one coin, and also LTC is a good potential coin just like ethereum coin. But you can always switch investment from that two coin anytime, it's just hard time now for ethereum in the market to rise.

I'd still choose ethereum because it is more usable for me because it has great value even though you just have 4ETH, it is already a good value. 12.5 litecoin is also good but you need to go through 12.5 before getting into the same value of 4 ETH? And as far as I know, ETH is next to bitcoin in most powerful coins, but we can still invest with both coins.

ETH have its stable price trend. It is obviously we saw that ETH is more profitable than of LTC. It is not a good idea to trade ETH to LTC, it is better to buy more ETH rather than of choosing Litecoin. Though we can't deny that LTC have its potentiality but in terms of gaining profits, preferable for ETH as a wide choose of the majority.

Two weeks ago, I would probably choose LTC because of the risky Ethereum hardfork situation. But now, knowing that the hardfork has succeeded, I recommend holding ETH.

If you ask me, i will choose Ethereum over Litecoin. In my opinion the chance for ehtereum to increase is still really high, and it supported with the low price that we see today, so the chance to increase is wide open.

Right now it would have both currencies, we are in a clear phase of market accumulation, sometimes the altcoins market may fall, but it is temporary, when the bitcoin takes its upward career, new grandiose benefits will come for the holders of altcoins.

For me LTC looks like one of the most bullish alts. It has already reached Nov-2018 levels.
I started to buy it again at 28, 34, 41. Will add more on bottoms.

There is a litecoin halving due later this year so it is likely to pump again. Timing is crucial but impossible to predict so just ensure it is done at least a month before the halving to maximise the benefits

I prefer 4 eth, because ethereum is a coin that is quite popular after bitcoin. And in my opinion ethereum has very good potential for the future because all prices depend on the influence of bitcoin

I think that if you managed to buy coins that were previously at the prices of a falling market, then you did the right thing and you are doing everything right now in general. I think that LTC will be able to seriously raise its reputation, since everything that exists on the market today has no competition.

The price of Etherum has now shown a very good price stability and therefore it can be seen from Etherum's price movements that have started to increase. Now many people are starting to re-use crypto and this also has an impact on price movements experienced by most other altcoins. I am optimistic when Etherum prices can increase then automatically the other coin prices will start to move very positively.

I would choose ETH, as in my opinion it is a more innovative project with a huge community and a promising concept. LTC for me will always be a clone of BTC, which serves as a test platform for testing future updates of the main Bitcoin network. ETH is waiting for a lot of updates that will increase the speed of transactions and scalability of the network.

It's up to you totally mate, nobody will tell you for sure what to do with your money. LTC looks promising but ETH also going strong now so I prefer hold ETH. It's your money and your risk.

It can pump hard but letting you go your ETH is not a good idea. Just try to buy bough of this coin so you can have more source of income. We know these two coins are great, and its bad for you if you both miss the chance to earn profit through ETH and LTC.

Litecoin has undergone major changes in recent months, and I think it will be continuously. It was like something people had been waiting for a long time. As time goes by, we will see '' triple'' as in 2017.

This is also my advice since ETH moves better than LTC and we know the recent development with ETH that make this coin better. But since diversification should be done on any investment, i think buying LTC can also be a profitable since its also a top altcoins that also offer a good technology. It is not a good idea to change LTC for the same amount of ETH. LTC has a bright future too and ETH's latest fork happened a few days ago. I prefer to hold my ltc rather than losing a small portion of holdings due to the exchange rate.

In as much as I am hopeful of Ethereum, though I was a bit disappointed recently after waiting so much for the anticipated upgrade thinking it will shoot up the value to the moon though based on my instinct and not technical or fundamental analysis.

I don’t think the rise of other coins depends on the upward movement of ethereum price, I have seen cases in the past when eth rose and other coins dropped and vice versa. The only BULL RUN I expect to have effect on other prices is that of BTC though not totally dependent on that.

Choose eth as they have more superior platform and has a lots of dapps. Many projects have tried to beat eth but I dont think they can easily lay hand on a sleeping giant. Eth is just quietly working behind the scene to pulled of all the target plan for this year.

It is almost a month since this thread was started (02/13/2012).
Let's take a look at two coins' price during this period.

ETH: 02/13 - 123.75   03/07 - 140.37  chg: +13.4%
LTC: 02/13 - 42.3       03/07 - 56.6      chg: +33.8%

For some reason I think that this was done correctly, because the LTC project has serious potential for development and these guys clearly understand what to do, because they have been on the market for a long time.

Ethereum and Litecoin are coins with great potential. Litecoin in 2017 gave me a big advantage. Likewise with Ethereum who can give me big profits. But with the decline in 2018 until now, it is indeed very difficult to make a profit. And for now, I better hold Ethereum.

I would keep both of them, because in my opinion ETH and LTC are the most promising altcoins on the market and I am pretty sure that when the next bullish trend is going to be launched, these coins will be pumped really hard.

I would choose Eth. Because I am a fan of the ether as well as you are a fan of LTC.

Both of these coins have good movements so the two coins are indeed good and continue to increase. Many communities will continue to maintain and benefit from both. I think investing in both will make us more observant in trading and making a profit.

but if you save both of these coins then you should be able to patiently wait for the prices of these two coins to rise, whereas usually those that have price movements only in ethereum, so I prefer to buy as much as I can and focus only on 1 coin makes me more calm.

ETH and LTC are good coins, but I think ETH has more potential to provide pfofit for you, so I think you better set aside your ETH bigger than LTC.

Great things are happening slowly, LTC is going to be a most favorable coin in future for monetary benefits. In order to have the future monetary benefits, you need to invest today at this low cost and make the best out of this time. This start at low cost will be incredible and instrumental in helping you get the maximum. DO trade your Eth for your LTC and stay in the market.

Both coins have a large growth potential for the coming months. However, it is very difficult for me to say which one has more possibilities. Guided only by the last successful Ethereum hardfork, I would bet more on ETH.

None of the 2, I will advise you sell the LTC and be an HOLDLER of BTC because holding for long term, the value it is presently on will fall and become stable on a value far lower  than what it is now, so if you want to stay in the market and become relevant, I will advise you change it to BTC, after the BTC BULL run, you can then buy it back if It is a coin you are so desperate in holding but for me, if I don’t have any choice, I will rather hold ETH to LTC because of their strong community.

In last 2 years of time, ethereum had proved more returns than litecoins but we cannot be sure about the same thing in coming days too. But, bitcoin case is totally different hence holding bitcoins will not disappoint anyone. But, diversifying is also strongly recommended always.

Will remain always on holding Ethereums.

There are so many updates on ETH and than Litecoin.

Litecoin shows a good side. I'm also interested in him. I already exchanged a number of Ethereum in litecoin. And also interested in further investing in it.

There is no need to trade the Eth for buying any other investment because all the currencies and in the deeper situation so we cannot try to improve the profit by trading and investing and different investment go with the flow of your investment will give the better result.

Ethereum and litecoin is great project, I think hard if only chosee one of them but If you talking about long term i will prefer ethereum, i think the price in the future will so high, but if trading short term, i think no one know where the best coin will up next, So i think choose 50:50, is great solution.

Although its a matter of choice, but in my own opinion, I will always go for ETH. If you check, the team have been trying their best to ensure ETH maintains its position, also the fork. At least this will show the team is working, unlike LTC.

Both coins were good to hold but I prefer ethereum more than litecoin so you can hold 60% ethereum and 40% of LTC from your capital amount.

So I'm assuming that it will really take off in the next couple of months specially once we get closer to the block halving date. If you have funds then I wouldn't trade my ETH though. I would rather invest on it and wait for the price spike specially prior and after the the schedule halving.  ;D

Yes, it will be smarter to buy LTC or hold it rather than keep investing in ETH. After halving the price will spike and for selling at the top buying before halving event is necessary.

I will choose ETH instead of LTC. ETH has a good potential for long term holding. It has more Dapp than other cryptocurrency.

I wouldn't go with either or. Nothing speaks against dividing your portfolio into 50/50 between ETH and LTC.

12 Litecoin is good but four Ethereum is a much better choice as Litecoin might be too dependent  to either Bitcoin or Ethereum. If you are going to choose for quality I highly recommend Ethereum but if quantity matters? Litecoin will also makes any sense. Etherrum has it's strong community compared to Litecoin and I don't think if Litecoin has it too and will beat Ethereum in any angle.

Keep the ether and hold it, I'm sure ethereum is going to do very well in the coming months along with other coins.

Litecoin have been making a lot of noise and with big partnership in the last few months. The price of ltc is no longer tide up with the price of btc and eth. I'm thinking to have some ltc and not gonna miss if the price went up.

And they have an excellent development leadership with Charlie Lee who is a really popular figure in this space.

In the present market situation it isn't possible to predict the market situation of ethereum as well as Litecoin. As the present market of Litecoin have increased with comparison to ethereum expect good results on the long run. Focusing the hardfork of Litecoin trading ethereum for Litecoin seems to be the right choice for the moment.

for now I will choose ethereum rather than litecoin because I'm sure someday ethereum will provide good and promising benefits for people who use it

if i were you, i would keep my ETH rather than trade it for LTC becasue there are not thing special about LTC recently and very few investors using it, and after many times being updated ETH has become so much advanced than LTC than can defeat LTC in every aspects.

I would rather the 12.5 LTC , because of the new partnerships , It is always hard to choose among those two but I would rather to choose litcoin , if you see ATH of litecoin and ATH of ETH you would find out that ltc has been 1/6 but eth has been 1/9 , also the total supply of LTC has been set .

Ethereum always was good coin for payments, but now after hardfork should be probably the best on market. I also would not exchange ETH for LTC.

I would be happy to have 4.5 ETH than 12 LTC. I like both coins and both are the big asset for the crypto community! Ethereum hard fork was successful and we can see a good result within three months, this is the bigger platform with the unique Contract system! But Litecoin is not that big platform for the new projects! ETH price will be high this year but I am not sure about LTC price for this year! So, 4.5 ETH will be a good choice according to my view.

Litecoin is just different, it is not about being the same as Ethereum. Litecoin wants to be a cheap transaction medium.

I suggest to you hold 4 ETH. Because now ETH rate are cheap. It is not proper time to sell ETH . On the other hand, the cost of ltc is relatively high. That's why I chose ETH for future.

I also think this is the right decision. The price of Ethereum in relation to Bitcoin is quite low and the price has fallen below only by 12%.

I believe that everyone should keep their Ethereums and would never exchange them to another coin, not Litecoin not any other one. After the biggest crush in cryptocurrency market  the ETH never get back on the order again. The ETH has lost already too much and i wouldn't believe that it's price falls more. I am collecting ETH and believe in the $200 line in 2nd quarter.

I am sure most must choose to hold ETH but that does not mean that LTC is bad, only ETH is more dominant in my opinion for the long term. Higher trading volume. Many people believe that in the future the market will be better and ETH will be expensive.

I think LTC has been overbought, in the last few weeks it's price has doubled and it has remained a but stable. I don't expect much movement from it unlike ETH that can gain easily.

Good question but i hold both and ETH and LTC but if we look at price and history will be better to have more ETH then LTC, but you can also keep some LTC and more ETH, who know 100% what will happen and how much will value.

LTC is more stable than in ETH compared to the time period when they reached their ATH. LTC has fallen to 6x relative to its last top and now there is a recovery. ETH dropped by more than x10 in relation to its top. However, in a possible strong recovery, I think ETH has more possibilities and more risks as well. It's a difficult choice and in that case, it's necessary to understand their needs. LTC and ETH in general are great choices.

I prefer holding Eth than LTC, Ether had a very wide and standard network compared to LTC, Apart from that 50% Altcoins are currently growing under Ether, so ether get potentials more than LTC, the reason I guess you should rather hold Eth.

I think it's better to have 50/50 in ltc and eth, because I think they are very good project and they have been doing very good things, litecoin is in kickboxing and also the mimblewimble protocol ... Ethereum with its recent update is much faster, in addition to the reduction to the miners, among other intersante things that are coming !!

honestly I prefer to have 4 ETH compared to 12 even 13 LTC, the reason is simple, because ethereum used to have very high prices while ethereum still has many possibilities to be able to achieve it again so I think 4 ETH will have more potential to generate profits than even 12 LTC

Keep them both, because LTC and ETH are pretty old coins and they will always be in trend. I would also suggest to add some new tokens to your portfolio, but it is pretty risky. No risk, no fun and it also can be very profitable.

I agree with you, these two coins are very liquid. I think that they will not give anyone their strong position in the cryptocurrency market.

LONG TERM, i will definitely choose to have Ethereum on my wallet and save for the best.

Better to hold the ETH than risking your money in LTC. Making a profit with altcoin requires to handle market swings and a bear market is the worst market cycle for converting the major cryptos to altcoins.

I think is better to hold ETH, but if you really want to get some LTC then exchange only 10% of ETH for LTC, who know what will happen and which coin will grow, but for sure the ETH is more used.

I think these two coins are very good and in 2017 they grew very high. And for long-term investments, it's better to hold Ethereum. At this moment Ethereum is trying to get back up. And in the past few weeks, it can always show a very positive trend.

i think the prospect of ethereum is more crystal than that of the LTC, so i will advice the that an exchange of coins in the portfolio from ethereum to Litecoin is not the best idea as it is in my own opinion that it is not much of a wise decision and should be reconsidered.

Ethereum is a great coin that you don't have to trade for any coin. I think if you have ethereum, you need to hold and wait for sometime before the market rises. Even if you want to trade for litecoin, just exchange 5% of it.

Holding Ethereum will be better in the future, if you have more capital, it's better to buy it, don't swap Ethereum with LTC.
