Title: Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash getting closer. What next?
Post by: romero121 on February 13, 2019, 05:22:11 PM
Today the price of ethereum and bitcoin cash has come close in value. By now the value of ethereum is $122.23 and Bitcoin Cash is found $122.61, and will the price of bitcoin cash fall further providing path for users to make a large scale investment on bitcoin cash moving from ethereum.

If you check them again today, the prices are still close(146-147$). I am just wondering how the BCH can increase on the same level as it while ETH has valid reason for climbing. Maybe BCH community are stronger. Because BCH always performs better when Bitcoin increase after decrease.

Hey, I have noticed this rally and both of them are always close to the price. But I saw it when Ethereum was much higher than bitcoin cash in price. Ethereum is likely to survive and we don't know what's next with ethereum. It's a normal rally within the prices for this both coins. With BCH, I don't think that there will be something big about it in the future but with ethereum, we can see on how active it is and it was able to replace and get back to 2nd rank again.

Both of them are good investment whether it is for short or long term. BCH is doing good but I can say that ETH is doing better. Well I dont know maybe I am just a huge fan of it since then but suprisingly BCH is catching up with it. Probably a good news for ETH would be its fork? Lets see if it can reclaim its spot (2nd).

So many are doing, making a profit from small coins or forks reinvest in more stable ones. Yes, and it seems that the fork of Bitcoin began to lose not only popularity.

Ethereum and Bitcoincash are reputed cryptocurrency in current market. But both are not a same platform so Bitcoin cash will going to moon at anytime at the same way Ethereum also gradually increase in the market. In profitable investment is not good at these coins because many tokens are make good return in short period so we will choose best token is the right direction. Ethereum fork is not a big impact of the price variation because market is still stay in a dip.

Around some changes will definitely needed here to move on from the investors of ethereum and Bitcoin cash so if it will not happen the next year you will definitely both investment will drop down to the zero value and it will make a lots of changes in investor mindset and the economy also.

There is one word for that, "Manipulation" although I don't know the reason behind why they are keeping on doing that, And in my opinion, I think they are up to something or maybe they would let people think that bitcoin cash is doing great just like Ethereum did, Or this is just a publicity stunt so investor would think positively that BCH is recovering or entering the wave of increasing its value, This is just my conclusion regarding the sudden tallying in the price of ETH and BCH And I think they are not giving up yet.

While I cannot prove there is manipulation going on in bitcoin cash of all the coins that I analyzed bitcoin cash is the one that has the most extreme moves on average and while that may seem like something good, to me this seems like a sign that something is wrong and one of the possibilities for that is manipulation, the price of ethereum seems to me that is growing organically since people are interested in it because of the fork but in the case of bitcoin cash I have my doubts that is the case.

It is just a coincidence. BCH is rarer and it used to have a higher price, but it got split as BSV took a piece of the cake. Bitcoin Cash has been pretty silent these past few months with the exception of Roger Ver doing his magic in Japan and Korea. Ethereum however - Constantinople is coming earlier than expected, no wonder it outperformed most of its competitors.

They already surpassed the price of bitcoin cash. There is no doubt in this market behavior. Eth platform has proficient team and doing what needs to be done. My guess is that, eth will be a long way ahead from bch in the near future.

What next? What should happen when a shitty coin become close in term of $ with another top coin? does getting close in value $ with another coin is enough reason to make investors make a decision to invest in any coin? I some time make a quick trades on BCH for fast money but I will never hold BCH as an investment because I know it is just another shitty coin with no real use.

No matter how cheap Bitcoin Cash is after the several issues they make, I don't think many people will put huge amount of their money to Bitcoin Cash. I don't think Bitcoin Cash market cap will come close to Ethereum. Ethereum is always the first choice for smart contract platofrm, where BCH is never the first option, not even the second or third when people want to pick a payment coin. So, yeah, in any kind, Bitcoin Cash will never close to Ethereum.

There's nothing to worried that's altcoins closer their price value into the marketcap, and we should knows the importance of ethereum than to bch. Wait for ethereum recovery to waking up again as second most important coins in crypto.

I think the ETH community is stronger than BCH and has a higher potential for a longterm gain. BCH has a higher chances for gains in short term though looking at the trading volumes. Even a small pump will lead to a higher price rise in the BCH market than compared to ETH.

there is no next with coins like these two. there is only the current time at all times and they are in either one of 3 stages: pump, dump, death.
sometimes they take the stages together sometimes each take a different one. your job is to figure out when the "Pump" stage is going to happen so that you can make profit and also make sure to figure out when the "Dump" stage is going to happen so that you can get out. the "Death" stage is when you move to another coin which is in its own "Pump" stage and enjoy the profit there.

Ethereumis ahead of BCH now so people who have their coins on a shitcoin like BCH should move it to other coins alteast now before it is getting too late,I think BCH price will deteriorate innthe upcoming days as well.

I really don't think people are flipping ethereum and bitcoin cash but a coincidence in pricing and even till now we are having that price similarities between the two coins.  I count this as a bad market for bitcoin cash as from the beginning it has been having upper hand above ethereum in terms of pricing.  Both coins are also suffering from the downward trend and it is good we understand this in other to be able to invest along.

Why would anyone do that when Ethereum has major developments including platform upgrades coming up over the next few months? Also there doesn't seem to be much correlation between either asset if I'm not mistaken and they offer entirely different features and you'll find only one has far more use cases than the other

Currently Eth has a value of $ 146 and BCH with a value of $ 144, indeed the distance is not too far away but Eth still has a strong community and there is no negative view of bitcoin. Eth and Bitcoin are coins that are side by side to their destination, as a more popular platform, Eth remains a worthy coin to be under bitcoin.

The price is not important. You also have to look at the total circulation supply. Price X circulation supply =Total marketcap. And the ETH has nearly 7 times higher total marketcap than bitcoin cash at the moment.

It already was. Bitcoin cash has significantly higher scarcity so Ether had a huge lead on market cap.
Both coins are going to introduce amazing innovative tech in 2019 but Ether has tons more corporate support so I guess the innovations will be better advertised there. Plus the big ICO selloff has almost finished.

There's nothing special behind it in my opinion. The current bump was especially for the bump of BTC price and that affects BCH and ETH to be close. Otherwise, any of those two would get a huge bump.

what? why can you compare the quality of ETH and BCH only by its price?
It depends on many different factors, such as investors, supply, community, ...
I think this is not a good comparison and the price of 2 altcoins doesn't say anything.

The problem of the price of the coin may not be too influential, but when the community and demand are stronger then it will become a better future coin.
We see that Eth's platform has more support and this is useful in ICO, so the community is strong and continues to increase.

It seems to me that Bitcoin cash should not turn a blind eye to reality by the user of cryptocurrency. In any case, it is ethereum that has more prospects than any other coins. I think that many users will begin to see the light when they see the results of platform updates.

What do you mean by what next ?
It is you that have the decision to take on what next to do, either you want to make purchase of bitcoin cash or ethereum.
As you know, this two coin has real life value, like eth being used for building dapps and bitcoin cash used as a mode of payment with extremely cheaper fee.

Better still, you can buy both so you won't miss out from the bull run coming soon.

Bitcoin cash today has reached around $155, while ethereum is found to be on $164+ upon which some sort of closer growth has been happening with the market.

Bch and Eth are altcoins that have value, but now Eth's value is higher than Bch, indicating that investors are back to trust Eth as a coin that has a higher function. Slow but sure that Bch will be lower than others even though the community is still strong but Eth will continue to have the best chance of other altcoins.

ETH marketcap is much higher than BCH and these two coins are not in the same space. Bitcoin Cash is a Bitcoin fork coin so more of a small competitor of bitcoin.

Ethereum will surely bounce higher but I wonder why Bitcoin cash is performing better than ethereum till the extent of getting close.

Well, both of them with their own different purposes, probably bitcoin cash community are quite stronger now and because of the transaction fee and volume involved but with time ethereum will outrun it once it goes towards bullish trend. I think it is also time to invest in some BITCOIN CASH.

I supported what you said base on BCH not having much community support this days and seems to be manipulated by owner while ethereum have much community support. However, the new implementation by ethereum for the ease ICOs project and ethereum network at large will make the price of ETH surge.

I don’t really think their performance e is as a result of the whales controlling it, ethereum just need to put in a little more effort to gain the trust of more investor because honestly, ethereum has not been performing well for a while, look at their upgrade done recently which gave virtually everyone high hopes of seeing ethereum bounce high, only to show us the reverse which is quite discouraging, though I still believe in ethereum a lot, they just need to do more to make their market high go higher than it is now.

Is that true? If we look at the current market price of the ethereum looks there hasn't been movement. ethereum still very unstable with prices today. no surprise whatsoever. but we all have to keep waiting for the surprise that makes us happy to see the market.

They are close and this is bad for BCC as it's suppose to be higher based on the price trend on its history.
Maybe the fork was not successful so the price is very cheap now, however we cannot conclude yet that it will not recover, for now I will
just see it as undervalued and if I have to choose between this two, I will buy BCC as it has more potential to a higher price compared to ETH.

That's based on the trend only.

No movement for ETH, where have you been for the past year? Even looking at ETH since December, we saw twice the price move past $150, and twice back down. It is very volatile and a lot of movement, 50% moves in less than 3 months, and you call that no movement?

Anyway,,, market cap and market price has so little to do with this. People forget this about crypto.

I think most altcoins are still depending on BTC price which ETH is not exclusive even though they all operate on a different purpose or system, but I really wonder why they all have to depend on BTC to rise if they all claim they have very viable projects and strong community.

I think the reason why I feel they all depend on BTC is because of the communities they share in common, most of the communities in BTC are the same investing in some of these coins like ETH because they require BTC as exchange for their own coin and until they learn to be independent before they can experience a major growth though it will be difficult knowing fully well that BTC is the most widely accepted crypto.

Ethereum appears to be breaking away, or bitcoin cash is failing to move. Either way people are putting their money on ETH right now, when things start to move I'd still stick with ethereum. Bitcoincash hasn't made any worthy partnerships recently

Bitcoin Cash is a good opponent to ETH, since the day Bitcoin cash was born, it has been predicted to become the leaders in the future along with ETH while both of them have advanced and modernized technologies that can be apply in future applications, so even if Bitcoin cash is limit to 21 million tokens, they can still be able to become the profitable altcoin in the future.

I trade ETH and I have been experiencing lots of movement too within the months I have been trading it in which the major ones are the two mentioned by you and I really wonder why people compare projects, this comparing of project is one of the reason why the market is still volatile.

I am sure some people will be thinking of selling part of their ethereum now to go for one coin that manage to rise when we don’t know the exact reason for it rising, what is the project was hyped, Ethereum will always be the second most valuable coin even if Bitcoin cash likes, let it keep copying BTC and pass BTC itself, Etherium always in my life.

BCH is already a useless altcoin it doesn't have to become one in the future. but the thing about these types of centralized shitcoins is that the people behind them have a lot of money and influence so they can keep their shitcoin alive for a long time.
additionally when you pump a shitcoin and it gives profit, it will automatically attract a lot of investors which is going to help with that keeping it artificially alive part.

I don't really think the price of an individual coin is relevant unless it is considered against marketcap. ETH and BCH have very similar prices per individual coin, but their marketcaps are very very different. Even when coins have similar caps, such as ETH and XRP, I don't think it's that relevant as they offer different things. Although I suppose there may be a psychological effect if a coin moves to a higher rank in market cap.

I see the margin between ETH and Bitcoin Cash will keep moving away. ETH will continue to rise and leave Bitcoincash.
Does that means bitcoin cash has been completely dump and no hope of rising again.  This coin was one time traded at $4000 and currently it is finding it very difficult to remain above $100. I think the bear market affect bitcoin cash more than any other coins.

I never saw the point of Bitcoin cash. It seemed (and seems) like a pointless money grab. The various selling points where it claims to be superior to BTC are not really selling points, as there are already plenty of ALTs that perform these functions better than does Bitcoin cash.

Agreed, bitcoin cash had reached peak value of above $4000 when the market is completely bullish. Recently it went as low around $70 and showed sudden price increase reaching close to the value of ethereum. As in the quote the bear market made a big crash on bitcoin cash market than any other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin cache after the fork made a normal movement, people collected profits and lowered it into a deep hole, and the ether goes on as usual, until without jerks and falls, even without reacting to the fork.

Both coins looks good for now, at least I cannot deny that BCH is gaining stronger community too and that is because it’s still new, barely two years, a lot of new investors are investing in it thinking it will make them fortune like bitcoin which it cannot, very soon, I see the price of BCH seriously crashing because as long as it is a fork of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin will always gain 90 percent dominance over it and ethereum will continue to gain relevance because of its stability which makes it very useful for means of payment.

I fully support what you said, and based on this, we can assume that Bitcoin is not in the best situation today. Based on this, it can still be assumed that the further development of Bitcoin is very doubtful if it is not used in practical terms. Only with an increase in interest to an investor in Bitcoin can he be more relevant than ethereum. But so far the trends are completely different. It’s a pity that Bitcoin still affects the entire cryptocurrency market in full.

The price value of each coin can be compared to others is not a big deal to those who knows why it happened. When bitcoin cash price is getting closer to ethereum, it is because traders and investors are impatient to wait to see ethereum price go higher so they see the opportunity to invest in bitcoin cash.

The price which was close to each other has now found almost $150 away. This might get closer, if there is continued growth with ethereum. Over the weeks we've been experiencing fluctuations that keep the market good for traders getting good return regularly. Bitcoin cash too has fallen low to $400. Ethereum which is expected to break the $300 barrier isn't taking place. Probably the $9000 barrier break will let ethereum cross $300, and bitcoin cash cross $500.

The charts as of the moment are mostly green but take a look at Bitcoin Cash's. It is in red. I have never been a follower of Bitcoin Cash. In terms of altcoin support, mine is always directed to Ethereum more than any others. And overall, I still give credit to Ethereum for having innovated a lot as compared to Bitcoin Cash. It is a mere fork claiming to be the original.

The price for Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum was almost the same for a long time. Everything started when the first Bitcoin Fork appeared. However, despite their costs, ETH is chosen as the most trusted and loved by many people altcoin. Bitcoin Cash is blamed in everything, even for the attempts to steal the real honest name of Bitcoin (the fork's father).

in terms of prices, bitcoin cash does have a higher price than ETH, however, I also never became a supporter of bitcoin cash. however, innovation at ETH is really quite large. ETH sometimes provides considerable potential. besides, until now, ETH hasn't started the pump yet, so for now, my support is also located at ETH.

Once Ethereum goes 2.0 there will be another understanding why this cripto is the most powerfull (not only as a name like Btc, because it`s was first one..) but in therms of adoptation.
We have got many problems with Eth blockchain, but team is still working and we could see a real result, nice changes

Although the price of Bitcoin Cash is more expensive compared to ethereum, ethereum trading volume on coinmarketcap is still number 2 and of course it's still better compared to Bitcoin Cash

I don't think the dollar price taken by itself is of much use when comparing one coin to another. Particularly when they have very different total and circulating supply, as this translates into very different market cap.

Similar coin prices don't mean anything by themselves.

It is a spin off from bitcoin and people might have misunderstood bitcoin cash and bitcoin in the past and so was the reason the price raised to those levels, after knowing people might have dumped the coins in the market, even i dumped bitcoin cash when the price was high and since i was a bitcoin enthusiast i kept my bitcoin and sold off bitcoin cash at a profit as i got the coins when split happened, i am not expecting the price to go higher than those valuation even if that goes i do have a few coins to trade, be it bitcoin cash or Ethereum, even if it dies off i do not mind as i have made my profit in those coins and i consider it as a bonus if i can sell off at exuberant price :P.

Personally, I do not judge the development or progress of a coin by its dollar equivalent too because when we talk of the use of cryptocurrency, we have to look at the coin itself like you said and when cryptocurrency becomes popular or get chance to be legalized, Ethereum will be much more accepted by most organizations than BCH because BCH is just a fork of bitcoin

If people have to use anything crypto, they would rather go for the original version, and we know that most of these fork coins are just an extract from bitcoin, bitcoin will always become more used so as Ethereum too will always become more preferable to any other altcoins or any of its fork, so we can never compare ETH to BCH because of dollar value but of usage.

Ethereum over the past month has kept the price well and for periods has even grown in value. It seems to me that with the fall of the altcoin market, Ethereum is not cheap now. I think that in the next month the price will not be above 250 dollars.

From the Op it is clear that during the month of February ethereum and bitcoin cash was close in value. Further the growth has taken place with small difference. The difference has grown higher after the month of April, when bitcoin began to grow gradually. Now ethereum sits around $180 and bitcoin cash around $225. There is not much of difference, but for large scale investors it will be a loss if invested in ethereum by that time.

ETH is one of the strongest coin at the market. Everybody still expecting ETH will start the alt season. For BCH people waiting it may follow BTC while BTC increasing. By the way BCH/BTC already dropped after BSV hardfork. And following years we can see more hardforks and the range at BCH/BTC can be bigger.
By the way RTH is doing well. It crushed with all market but still one of the strongest one. My expectation is the price of ETH will catch the BCH at near future.

so this is the right moment to enter. But from market capitalization it will be difficult to pursue ethereum.

There is one word for that, "Manipulation" although I don't know the reason behind why they are keeping on doing that,

So do you mean dev is manipulating prices to take profits or something like that?

If you are a holder of both coins you are in a win situation, every holders of both cons don't care about the competition between the two coins as long as they can give profit, volume and development, I'm ok with Bitcoincash moving closer to Ethereum, but i don't think they can pull down Ethereum to it's position with the current development Ethereum is implementing.

I know that everyone is worried about the price of alts now. But keep in mind that this is what the sharks are doing, they are trying to push the price of the alts to a record low level before they push the price of it up again. This is the rule of a financial market and we need to understand it to choose a good time to buy. And this is a good time to buy and hold a few more months.

The price of a coin alone doesn't mean anything. You need to consider number of coins in circulation as well - this is why everyone looks at market cap.

If a coin has a price of $1,000 and the supply is 1,000,000 coins, this is exactly the same as if the coin has a price of $1,000,000 and the supply is 1,000 coins. the two situations are identical. The coin in the second scenario isn't any better or worse than the one in the first scenario, the price of $1,000 or $1,000,000 is meaningless unless supply is also considered.

Yes, but the market cap for Ethereum is more than 4 times the amount of Bitcoin Cash. This is a very important factor to look at. There are 108 million Ethereum and only about 18 million BCH. That's the reason for the prices being so close to one another. It's simple supply and demand. Ethereum still has 4 times the investment of BCH and 4 times the interest as well. BCH will probably always be worth more than Ethereum when looked at by the dollar value, but it's only because there's not as many of them to go around.
