I think you may have a typo there ... Likely you meant scammers and not spammers, although both could have their own entry explaining that is understood by each concept and how to act accordingly.

This is incorrect advice. Scams are not moderated:


Scams and scammers are not moderated, and you should not be reporting these posts to the moderators. They will not be dealt with and will only waste moderators' time. Scams are dealt with via the trust system. If you think someone is a scammer, you can leave them negative trust and/or open a thread in the Scam Accusations (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) board for the attention of other users.

Spam, on the other hand, should be reported to the moderators.

One more thing can be added that is the trust points in the profile of the user. It is equal important to specify the trust so that everyone can be more alter about the posts done by that user.

It would be good to drop a reply on tge specific thread which you suspect to be a scam with the reasons why, pending when it is proven and users invloved tagged. This would give a heads up to those who are considering it.

OP, I know that you had good intentions, but you just repeated what was said so many times, you didn't posted nothing new. And I suggest to improve layout of your post - just look how other similar topics looks.

Nope, he didn't steal it from you. You're not first and not the last one who made similar topics.

I think, avoid making topics that have the same discussion with the previous topic is one way to contribute to this forum by searching for keywords through the forum search feature or through the google search engine before deciding to create a new topic.

This is what often happens and is not realized by most newbies. If they're really looking for information with what they're thinking at that time, this method is more efficient than having to create a new topic that isn't necessary when they'll get answers from other members. I don't understand whether they really have the idea that creating new topics has more chances of getting merit than making a reply.

I prefer to see fewer topics with lots of replies rather than looking at many topics with a little reply and finally referring to other topics with the same content also turns out to have a lot of replies. :D

I actually like it when similar topics takes a new twist on previous topics. One topic might for instance focus on adoption in 3rd world countries and a similar topic would focus on specific target markets within 3rd world countries. <ATMs or exchanges etc.>

If similar topics where not allowed, people would stop talking about Bitcoin and we do not want that. We want to cover all the angles and all the weak points and strong points and advantages and disadvantages of using this technology.  ;)

This is highly ironic. What first looks like a genuine post to maybe do the forum some good is just a merit fishing experiment as it seems.

So many made topics similar to yours before you did,and it'll be unfair to say,you stole their topic,the same way you claim OP did to yours
This topic has been posted numerous times and there are so many waiting to be posted in the future,why can't we simply use the search engine and know when a post is not needed due to the reason that it's been "over posted" already

I was really hoping to see my thread on the OP but sadly it's just an old post made by the higher ups. And as they have said it is not the very first time that it was discussed here, so maybe if you still want to be somewhat unique, you can add my tips on your posts for it is really a good help for everyone.

I'd probably seen a thread on how to contribute to the forum which is the same as this. I also saw a reply where the person ask how to contribute and the answer is obvious which is the same as your thread here.
• First of all is to read all stickied thread before you can start to contribute to the forum, example is reading and following the forum rules, understanding about bitcoin or other crypto for newbies before starting to do the next step.
• Post High Quality Posts (commendable, informative, merit worthy, constructive and more, the person must have a skill in using english language which is the main language in this forum or you'll force to stay in your local board.)
• Helping others can also be done by posting a new topic (like a notification post about a site that is a scam or ponzi scheme, a guide where people could learn how it works) which help them learn new things.
• Finding and Fighting scam and spammers ( it's the staff's responsible but can't do it alone that's why forum members can help spotting scammers and guide the spammers into posting high quality posts, if the person who is a spammer will be added in the ignore list or getting a red tag from DT.
• Providing good service in any way can help you gain trust from people and reputation just like DdmrDdmr and theyoungmillionaire.
