why dont you create just a new forum, this "bitcoin forum is trash already" losing 10% viewer every month https://www.similarweb.com/website/bitcointalk.org#referrals

why use discord?

I am creating a forum it will be awesome, the site has only been live for a few days. You guys will love it. It will host ANN threads and whatever else the community wants! :)

Main 2 things im working on currently is the forum and updates page. I intend for coins to add ann threads if they wish!

A very very long way to go indeed but atleast we do see some progress but before considering to proceed, i wont really like to let the feelings of OP to get discourage but

even this new website of him would be finished.I dont really see for it to gain attention or traffic but it depends on how he hardly works to promote and for the earlier

I am trying my best, Square Space is the hosting provider and currently pay for the business package 26$ per month to run plus cost of domain name.
The forum section is blank because I am waiting for the forum provider to link to my domain at the moment. Approximately 24 hours.

This forum will always have a place in my heart, thanks to Satoshi.

unfortunately there are quite a bunch of cryptoforums, nowadays. and not a single one is able to reach critical mass.

these are just other people that want to create money out of nothing, and first group that started to create digital money out of nothing started actually here.

just because its still around and considered valuable doesnt make it good or nonscam.

even nakamoto was unsure about the success for good reasons, bitcoin is an unreasonable race for computation power.

I am still waiting on the synchronization of the forum to my domain, it said it could take up to 48 hours.

There are so many clones of bitcointalk today...altcointalks, bitcoingargen, etc. I don't see that they get big audience. So don't see that one more crypto related forum is needed.

After banning bounties (Token-based Campaigns) and their ANN threads, they will likely migrate to your forum if it's good enough.
Bitcointalk will lose most of the scammers and spammers and your forum will boost in traffic. Win-Win..... in a way :-X

That's a shitty domain/DNS registrar; usually, it only takes a few minutes/hours to synchronize (maximum of a day).
Make sure that it's ".com", ".net" or ".org"; others aren't really favored by netizens these days.

I have some question, just want to know answers on them.
As you see here are almost everyone involved in crypto, well hang on this fact. Another great choise is stackoverflow and reddit, for technical things I prefer first one, for some kind of discussion - reddit and overally this forum for both. Btw how can you attract enlightened people on your website? Do you have resources for it or have any plan?

I was not able to have Https on the forum from start. Nabble the forum hoster has to grant you access to it with support ticket. Its not automatically available.

Honestly, Bitcointalk is running really old software, but your forum in comparison looks ancient. Maybe try to attract users by using latest software that makes user experience good ? (Search for NodeBB for example)

All the other hosted forums and even bitcoin talk has adds, mine does not have adds and also is fully customizeable. Colors ect....

I understand, but dude it looks like forum from 2002 not 2019. You said you pay 25$ a month or smth. Why ? Buy VPS for 5$ a month and install phpBB or smf or nodebb and enjoy better software at lower rate.

The forum is free I have also updated it a bit. I pay 35$ a month for hosted website and domain. I have been hard at work designing logo for web site. It looks pretty good right now. I have updated site a bit too. We will keep our progress moving forward with clean style add free forum! I wish you guys could join us cause we think we have something special going on and future. We talk about alot of really cool things in the Discord channel as well, lots of insight on whats going on in the crypto world. 💯💯💯💯💯

Please keep it spam free so we don't see some shitty questions again and again like What is Bitcoin? What is blockchain? Why was Bitcoin introduced? etc.
As your forum is relatively new to Bitcointalk, I think it stands a chance to get good moderators with strict moderation rules to be applied as and when spam takes place over there. Like eckmar said, please find a better VPS (AWS could be the best one) and upgrade it with better security modules to gain wider audience for your platform.

I feel that the color scheme is a tad off. You might want to introduce contrasts so the topics don't "blend" with the background.

I will take that into consideration. Also for the question of moderation yes I will get some guys onto that, I do check it quite often about spam! :)

Curently 81 members in Discord and growing. Some have managed to post in our forum! 😉

If you need any help on the development side of this , i will be glad to help , i do value competition in forums and cryptospace , i actaully think is a good plan , not sure why others are judging it too much

1) One thing is were going to have a new Minecraft server for our discord members to socialize in.
2) The people we have are very cool people and very active on Discord.
3) We have our own forum that is clean style and free from advertisement.
4) A different style approach to web site and catching you eye with first 5 seconds.
5) The Discord is set up to not be cluttered!
6) Were not just a forum were a whole community.

In today scenario the mining of Bitcoin has gone costly because of the increase in price of the Bitcoin and the hardware and electricity cost. So, many website like the Eobot.com has offered the cloud based mining. But this site is demanding now the KYC and seeking very private data of the customer. But, earlier when I was joined there was no such rules and I bought some GHS and now this GHS is not showing in my account nor it is mining any crypto.

Yes the direction were headed in will require all KYC for trading unless you use a dex exchange, eventually when you convert into cash your going to need KYC anyways.

I see already many forums are online. What is different in your forum? if you are creating/launching a new forum even after there are already many then you should focus on any one point to attract more users.

Converting to cash doesn’t necessarily equate to kyc. Bisq?

Eventually if you want to use a debit card, or convert to cash, or withdraw to bank it will require you to KYC. Unless you always keep it in crypto form.

First our forum is not just a foum as we are a Discord group and website first. We have many active members on the team and alow everyone to chat and text all at one place. I whould have made a forum only if thats all it was going to be. We are much more than just a forum. If you choose to use or not to use our forum we are an awesome place to be able to talk with people that stay highly active on discord. Hence “Crypto Talk” not “Crypto Forum”  😉😎

I am seeing some here have no clue about how to pay taxes or when to pay them in the USA. When you make a purchase in Crypto and go to sell to BTC you must pay tax at that moment before you can rebuy in lower. No ifs, ands, or buts! Period! If you hold long over 1 year you only have to pay 15% tax instead of 22-24% tax rate (USA). If you guys are day trading and not paying tax I hate to be you. Coinbase is lowering its reporting to IRS to 12,000$ Wether you purchased or sold 12,000$ BTC! It does not matter if your converting to FIAT, BTC, or Other form of crypto!

Stop spamming.  Post this on your Discord.  We don't care.  :/

I went across your website and it looks like a forum more to me. I think such forums are getting in high demand due to their ability to keep track on the outside world and their marketing bonuses. Such kind of forums are a great mean of promotion for various newly emerging projects and also most of the bounty hunters who work for the marketing of such projects are able to earn some good profits over there.

You need to engage a majority of the community towards your website so that you can make everything run much smoothly. Now, as of now, I can see that your website is yet in the developing and beta mode so I really wish you a good luck and would see how it runs after you launch it.

More likely project development section is meant for the development of the project. You can use announcement section if you are trying to convert this thread into your ANN thread. This section is more likely for the developments rather then any membership updates, etc.

ANN thread and Development thread and entirely different. Development thread is meant for finding new devs, repairing the site, etc and announcement thread is meant for Announcing the features and skills of the project. Announcement thread should be something attractive as it playes a major role after the website. Peoples like going to the ANN thread before they go through your Web.
