Title: Study says 79% of cryptocurrency event attendees are men
Post by: Unblock_news on February 15, 2019, 03:39:55 AM
The study shows that the cryptocurrency events “have a long road ahead toward gender inclusion” and such events have “to change.”

Bizzabo co-founder and customer success chief Alon Alroy said in relation to the study’s findings that “there is a lack of gender diversity” in the cryptocurrency industry and that it is “reflected in the attendance for these events.” He mentioned that such lack of gender diversity is also true for the tech industry in general.

Because men are risk taker, and women are quiet hesitant to take the risk for some good reason. 21% of women attendees is not that bad, it will increase soon since they are more active now compare before and the society are more open now for the women, there is nothing to worry about this women are still strong compare to other men and they can also take the risk, if they fully understand this market.

Why don't we think this shows that in general men are more interested in tech than women? I mean, it sounds as if men are trying to restrict women participation in tech development. I don't know how the tech industry works but in blockchain space, does that even possible? Anybody is literally free to learn and participate in any project, so not sure what is this inclusion thing. If they're not interested why we need to force them?

Maybe this is because of the differences in characteristics between men and women, basically women are more comfortable fulfilling the main obligations in the household as housewives rather than careers so they tend to be reluctant to go into this world. On the other hand there are fewer time constraints for women because they have to focus on taking care of the family.

Men are more interested about cryptocurrencies and blockchain. We tend to explore things that are related to technology but I don't think this kind of info is that important. Looking at the brighter side, at least there are remaining percentage of the study that there are women that are interested about crypto.

Maybe this is because of the differences in characteristics between men and women, basically women are more comfortable fulfilling the main obligations in the household as housewives rather than careers so they tend to be reluctant to go into this world.
Men and women has different personalities so that's basic and normal. It's not really necessary to have that much percentage of women who are into crypto's but it will be an amazing growth, if some future studies will show that women who are interested with crypto has increased.

I can't say how accurate the study is but one thing I know is that the 'possible' reason why males are the most attendees of crypto events is because  men are 'mostly' the CEO or brain founder of most cryptocoins or project so they need to represent their projects.

Though, this does not particularly means that women don't get involve, they do.
Just my two cents though.

I agree on that research but lets not ignore the fact that there were also females or gals who are currently involved on the crypto community  .  didnt you see on the team of an ico ,  or on the teams of an crypto exchange ? We can clearly see that few of their member are femine's  .

Include the forum members of this website and also on other platform as well  . if combine thos number , i think they are close to the percent of male crypto users .

Cryptocurrency is a new technology that is very difficult to grasp. No wemen should be able to use this technology atm because the front-end sucks. Wemen only interested in picture (photos) and their brain is not suitable for text-based interface.

They should be in the kitchen and cooking sandwiches for men! *lul

And what's more annoying? Their attitude on the bear market! That "I told you so" moment, and constant disagreement to "invest" in crypto will make you feel miserable.

But, I still love my valentine.

maybe it's true there are still a few women who join the crypto currency, this might have something to do with mindset, mentality and tradition, like this ... in crypto we are tungtut to be able to control emotions, dare to take risks and master technology well, whereas that not the nature of a woman, women tend to prefer something that is certain and does not want to take risks, rely more on feelings (emotions) so that it is easy to stress and position themselves not as breadwinners so that the interest to plunge in the world of business and technology is still low ... currently gender equality has occurred in all fields (women are now able to work in any field) but maybe in crypto the percentage of female enthusiasts is still inferior to men and it is still considered something natural and not a big problem of course

It is not a weird result. I mean look at wall street and all the finance things in the world. It is not a shock that men are more inclined to go into crypto because they go into finance more as well and we can consider crypto as something related to finance. Even tough its mostly technology and could be used without any finance at all (improving blockchain to suit a sector without putting any crypto currency relation to it for example) its still mostly used financially than not.

I think women and men are not that much different from each other like many people think and I do not claim to be a feminist or anything but unfortunately there are some sectors that are harder to get in for women which makes them feel like they don't want to work harder to just show they exist so they prefer the places they are already not discriminated against.

I'm not a big fan of trying to force more equality, just for the sake of genders being equally divided in the crypto-space.
I personally think that crypto events are not really hostile to women, I think that women are simply less interested in cryptocurrency.

Look, I don't care about someone's gender, all I care about is if they're interested in cryptocurrency.

Lol, I don't think this is too far from the truth, even if it is completely anti-PC.

The fact is that there's nothing prohibiting women from doing whatever they want to do in the crypto world--it's not a fault of the community that there are so many men in it, and this is like all of the gender studies majors in college whining about how there aren't enough females in the  STEM field.  Leave it to the men to blaze the trail and then let the feminists follow behind, complaining about "inclusion".

What a world.

Even before in most events men are more than female is present so it is not new to me to see such data. Even in every most data across the world men are more than women. Cryptocurrency is only for people who understand the essence of it and it is so seldom to see such women who fully understand the market than most men.

I agree, in the crypto sphere we can't really talk about anyone excluding anyone. You just have to be interested and good at what you do to succeed. Women just have to believe in themselves and in the possibility of defining their own lives and making career choices. Nowadays many still believe that they should dedicate their life only to family or perhaps to care-related professions. I think it's natural that men are attending crypto events more than women for now, but I am sure that it will change in the future when more people realize their rights and stop believing in stereotypes.

It is not at all a big thing to see men in higher percentage contributing good to the cryptocurrency event or to the community. This is all because of the men's updated mind, while women were much focused on fashion industry and very few were exception. If a government adopt bitcoin and suggest that everything related to fashion need to be brought using bitcoin, then surely they'll come and can see more women attendees to events, lol.

The percentage of female participants in cryptocurrency will continue to increase. But, why is the cryptocurrency market now dominated by men? The answer is because men's instincts have a leadership spirit, where a man dares to take a decision with all the risks. We don't need to worry about the percentage because over time the number will increase when the female participants find it hard to understand the crypto market conditions

You're probably just joking, but that's pretty far from the truth.

There are enough women that have an interest in technology and I'd even go as far as saying that it's likely that women are somewhat pushed towards other industries because of cultural aspects.
Well, part cultural aspects and part biological factors, most likely a combination of both.

But to mention silly tropes like these doesn't actually create a very inviting environment, plus it isn't exactly funny.

By all means, let more women join cryptocurrency events, but only if they're actually interested.
I wouldn't laugh at them for being interested in cryptocurrency or technology in general. (and most people wouldn't)

The percentage of female participants in cryptocurrency will continue to increase. But, why is the cryptocurrency market now dominated by men? I really don't think it's more difficult for women to learn about theory relating to 'market conditions'.
Besides, as if the market is the only thing that's interesting about cryptocurrency...

Pfft, the people who focus on the markets are usually the people I find most idiotic, men or women.

I think one of the main reason that more man than woman are invest into crypto are that men like to gamble and are more risk takers, when bitcoins proves it's self as a store of value, then more woman will start to buy bitcoins. 21% woman are a good start and i'm sure than this number will grow in the years to come.

Yes, but not all the women are too afraid to try something new because some of them want to know with cryptocurrency. I remember one of my friend trying to involve in cryptocurrency before, and she was very active to buy and sell coins in one market. Besides that, she knows about how to analyze the coins or what coins that will be good for investment. Sometimes we share information if we found something good with the coin. But now I lost her contact, so we never talk again.

I think many women are independent, not dependent on men, they seem to have strong instincts and are always careful in analyzing each crypto, but to take risks is not as brave as men. Men do win when taking risks and don't think they will go bankrupt, which is sure to challenge and play in the market is also not bad. Slowly many smart women will go into crypto and be able to buy crypto cosmetics.

WOW ;D What next, men are born from the womb to be better entrepreneurs because women don't know how to chase their dreams? Holy shit.

If I had to give my opinion the lack of women is purely because they're affected by the sociologic & cultural background. This is drastically changing in the upcoming generations are more girls are getting dragged into the cyberworld and subsequently learning more about technology, programming, and such. But for a simple reason to the question in the OP, it's just that our moms and aunts never got to work on computers as much as our fathers did, subsequently leading to the gap today. Of course, there's no denying women still prefer not to work into certain fields, but saying "men have more balls, women only want to be housewives" is absolutely gold.

Times have changed and now you will see women in every field of life and not just cosmetic and fashion stuff. Since you cannot determine the gender of people who are using bitcoins, it is difficult to determine the exact percentage of people using bitcoins are male or female. I think most of the holders of bitcoins will be women also.

We can't deny the fact that women are more negative about this than most men. Specially gambling, well crypto can't be regarded as gambling but the same principle applies to it. But of course it doesn't apply to all women. But the current age now this won't be a big problem, many things can be bought in the internet using crytpocurrencies. If these features can be advertized all around the world i think it will change the whole world.

I agree, indeed in fact crypto users on average are men and only a few women use crypto. Actually this is not only crypto, but in other jobs it also proves that men dominate more than women. For example in companies like Yahoo and Google, employees are dominated by men rather than women. Maybe this gender difference influences that men dominate more than women, especially in the use of crypto. I think the interest of men to explore new things is greater than women, which is why crypto users are dominated by men more than women.

It is not about gender inclusion but it's because men are more tech savvy than women. Though I believe that men and women have the same capacity of learning things but it is men that has the courage to take risks and not afraid of lossing. That's the reason I see why men are more in engaging to cryptocurrency than women.

This is because every new technology looks like a gamble at first and women aren't the biggest risk takers where men mostly are gambling addicts.

It is in our DNA.

Men are risk takers. Gamblers.

Women prefer reliable income.

Women will only invest in crypto when there is no profits to be made, when it becomes boring.

Over 90% of crypto enthusiasts are male in the crypto space with very few women as crypto project founders, developers, investors, and a very few crypto experts.T his is so because we have few women in tech and most do not want to take a risk as men do.

Gender diversity will always be an issue, whilst some countries have strict religious beliefs to suppress female inclusion.  :P  Bitcoin is not restricted to any gender, but male domination will eventually happen as males fight to gain "Alpha male" status in their communities.

The highest paid actors in Hollywood are male and the richest people in the world are men, so why would Bitcoin be any different? This is just human interaction and male and female dynamics at play.  :(

This is quite a surprise. I don't think there are too many girls in the crypto market. girls are often lazy to learn and interact with numbers, most of them love literacy courses.
It also shows that our crypto market is quite easy to invest. We can start small and can do whatever we want with just a few simple steps.

Well said, but I know this numbers will not make women weak again, its a different era now where women started to make their own path and some already rule the country. Long way to go before the numbers to increase on the women side but I know it will happen.

I certainly agree that most cryptocurrency users are men. Most of my friends who are into cryptocurrency are mostly men and I guess it is because they are all willing to take the risk. Men are born strategic and risk takers that's why most of them are here in crypto world.

What ever gender you are it is okay. Im male and Im happy that male is the mose percentage crypto attendees and but still salute to the women because without women there's no men who work hard because men inspire because of their wife or women.  We need each other we have different skills and talent and better to show it to the cryptoworld. I hope more men and women will know crypto and they will invest.

Absolutely right, generally in technology world we have more male than female in population, although the female are also doing well with bringing in new ideas and project but I think all falls to the fact that the male are more of a risk taker than female.

Actually not a surprising thing where on any things on the world when it comes to events and other stuff, men would always be ahead when it comes to numbers
specially to things which do involves risk like businesses, money making opportunities, development.I dont see for it to be necessary to have a gender diversification.
Why not just to let things as it should be?

I strongly believe that Men/Male are by nature risk takers when compared to the female counterparts and is one of the reason in my opinion. The female counterparts may be of the view that crypto currency is to risky for them to invest their money and May be there reason for not attending such crucial events in most cases.

How they can go and attend these kind of stuffs when they are busy on their cosmetic shopping. ;D

Crypto currency has no gender, all the people who are using money can have the need of crypto currency when it is adopted on mainstream so don't worry about it,women will use them when they can buy lipstick with cryptos.

Times have changed and now you will see women in every field of life and not just cosmetic and fashion stuff. Since you cannot determine the gender of people who are using bitcoins, it is difficult to determine the exact percentage of people using bitcoins are male or female. I think most of the holders of bitcoins will be women also.
I didn't sid they are not holding bitcoins but they were busy to attend those events like that because they are busy at purchasing,Women will be always women no matter of how many generation has be evolved. :D

Agree, we should not care about gender in any field. As long he/she can do the job and give benefits for community, the gender become ignored. Many women can do man job and sometimes more better. Perhaps women just not too interesting speculate in crypto

Men and women are contributing good to the cryptocurrency network, as in the quote by birth men are really risk takers. Women are good to management skills, upon which the contribution to the cryptocurrency community from men is higher than that of women. When years pass this will change as women too started to explore more about cryptocurrency.

Males are usually more public oriented, but that trend is changing rapidly in last decade.

Slowly but gradually things are changing and whom I have started interacting previously generally use to be men only but this days even few only but some of the women have started taking interests in crypto currency as well. It is a good sign and in coming years we will see a huge rise happening in women's present in crypto currency as well.

It seems to me that in boys curiosity is laid on the gene level. Look at the kids. Boys do not just play with toys or constructors, they try to disassemble them in order to understand how they work, and girls just play with what they are given. The main thing that it was beautiful. Of course, this does not apply to all children, but in general, the picture is just that. Boys are more curious than girls. In the future, this also affects all aspects of science and high technology. And the point is not that someone is infringing upon or injuring someone earlier, but that this is the way human nature works. Boys has always sought to achieve something and create something. This is laid down in men at the gene level.

Based on world stats alone, men tend to have higher paying jobs and therefore earn more money that they can invest.
As men we are risk takers and it goes back to the caveman days.  This 79% number does not surprise meat all.

This is true that their are more men than women in this industry and market. because seeing even my surrounding I find that ratio of between men to women is quite high. - Of course, most men are overwhelmingly in this market because I often see women not so good at using computers, they are often very embarrassed in the process of searching and learning about technology while using computers is a very frequent and popular thing with men, and that limits the contact between them and this technology. In addition, women tend to worry a lot of problems and lack of assertiveness in investment, not even dare to accept risks, and because of their special instincts, they often choose only stable and long-term jobs, unstable jobs and too many risks such as crypto, they often stay away

I think this study is correct because cryptocurrencies can be competed with businesses. If you think about it in businesses there are a lot more men involved than womens, and that's because in general men are the one interested in making profit and money to sustain their lives and families.

Well let's face it, women are catching up in pretty much any field now but crypto is a fairly new game that not even most men are into. So the studies are justified though i'm sure that time will come when that gap will be a little closer in the coming years.

yes, besides, because women are too busy taking care of their families and children, it will be very troublesome if they also take part in the crypto world, women also tend not to be too brave to take high risks and prefer to play in the comfort zone.

There is also the fact that when some place is heavily packed with men its harder for women to enter the space as well. When you have a 20% women population somewhere other women are a bit scared to join in because they are afraid they will be targets for men talk. Not in the sense that cat calling or something don't get me wrong, in the sense that men talk with each other or when they try to talk with women they try to either see them as inferior on the subject or have other reasons to talk, so they are not seen as reputable as men unless they are actually in a position of power.

Go to any tourism related event and you will see plenty of women because its a heavily women oriented sector and women have a voice in there. Why go a place to gain a voice when you can go to a place where you already have a voice.

That's right, the survey just tell us that the influence of this market is not that much where even most mens are not being knowledgeable about it, but time will come when everything was fully adopted, we know how women from this generations can easily adopt with any changes that happens around her, expect changes from the percentage after.

Man by nature has always been a breadwinner and this instinct works and now only a little bit in another way. A man is inclined to look for ways to make money and take risks, while a woman prefers home comfort. This is all explained at the events as more men because a woman knows that a man must provide for the family and she sits at home with children.

Maybe this is because of the differences in characteristics between men and women, basically women are more comfortable fulfilling the main obligations in the household as housewives rather than careers so they tend to be reluctant to go into this world. On the other hand there are fewer time constraints for women because they have to focus on taking care of the family.
From this, you have a point. Women are most stable than men. They prefer to do their priorities like what all most women do than to have been involve in some other task like this in the crypto currency community, because for most women, the real world is what they much prioritize, like taking care of their families and other stuffs that women should have to as a light of the house. Engaging in the crypto currency community is what most men are tend to do. Exploring and making further analysis of the things around outside the real world is what most men wanted to do.
besides that more entrepreneurs come from men, that means, a man has more speculation than women. we know if a woman already has a child, of course their time will be limited, so it's hard to spend time here. What's more, a woman prefers things that are real, so they seem to think realistically

Cryptocurrencies are young, but they are following some trends. In politics, computers, in most branches there are more mans than womens, but thats changing I believe. In years that are coming we will have more girls in cryptocurrencies and everywhere else. Its nice to say that they are waking up, I think cryptocurrencies are giving each of us equal opportunity, who grab it will have benefits from that, boys or girls, this 79% of mans that attend crypto events will go down and more girls will be involved.

Reading the first paragraph I almost thought it was written by Brie Larson. 😂

Men tend to dominate the tech sector so it's only natural that they are also the early birds to new developments like crypto. And let's face it, at the risk of being called sexist, men are risk-takers compared to women.

Probably wouldn't hurt enticing women into crypto (I think there's little chance they'd ruin this) but the approach to recruiting them should be different.

I'm a guy but I don't think this is about courage. Men are known to take more risks, whether this is courage or idiocy is another thing, which is why insurance companies always make premiums higher for men than for women. So this is a scientific fact, no matter how sexist it could be. But if you see investment as a risk which it is, then are you saying men are more likely to invest than women? I don't know the stats but I could agree with that.

This could be possible or true as men are more into gadgets and techs than women. Women based on my encounters more often don't have much interest on things especially when it involves processes that would be hard to understand. They usually wanted it to become more simple and easy to understand, they don't have much of a troubleshooting or they do not want to ask more questions and instead wanted all process to be done as easy as possible. But know one things they are so critical with their looks and beauty thing. It takes about half to an hour just to brush their hair and make it look beautiful. Sounds funny just ask a girl, she knows this.  ;D

every event is like that for women only 20% - 25% tend to take part in the event but don't be surprised that there are still many who don't attend the event, not recorded due to taking care of homework so just at home or going to take care of him children. widespread cryptocurrencies can I conclude that there are also many women in this industry around 35% comparedof men, it's just that many of them close themselves

Yes of course they have allot of other works at home to do so it is hard for women to attend the events, i am sure with passage of time this number will increase because more ladies being part of crypto currency so with time I think it will improve, but still good number of women are working here to make crypto currency circle better and well developed.

From time to time, women also don't want to miss technology and one of them is about the blockchain, many women start learning to understand this. And there are also many who are involved in it, even though it is risky but all of this is for the future and explores the potential that exists in oneself.

True, I guess this study was not conducted putting other part of the countries in mind, because I have come to realise that countries and it state affects the respond it gets from it different genders.
For instant, most woman in some  developed part of the countries in Asia and western countries they tends not to find a greater part of woman interested in crypto related issues. But that those not mean they are not higher when it comes to other aspect of technology.

Another thing is that women take a little time to know about something innovative. Same is the present scenario of the cryptocurrency network. By this time 21% contribution is big in the short term growth of cryptocurrency. When women learns and knows much about cryptocurrency the contribution from their sides will be very big. Now I consider it the early days of women's contribution to cryptocurrency growth.

I think this is normal because men often like to take risks, analyze and want to make their own decisions. Women often do not like jobs like this, so there are quite a few women involved in investment.
Besides, women tend to think too much and make things mess, decide by emotions, ... these are weaknesses of women in the field of investment.

Im believe to the women who are work to the cryptocurrency because even they are mom or housewife or what status they have. They will do what men do. Im salute to girls even the population is only little. Yes obviously the crypto population most that is men or boys because they are hard work and they will discover something new in online world. But it's okay what more population the important is everyone will get profit and helping each other it's not about the gender.

Agree to you:) well, its because some of men are doubtful if their wives attending event especially if that event most people are there is men...but on my own experience nowadays more women are open for the opportunities like cryptocurrency, it's we called worked from home.. Women are so ideal people than men..

I think aside cryptocurrency, men are generally better with investment than women.
Majority of men, live daily planning for the future but women on the other hand do not  know how to safe, let alone investment.

Women always have immediate needs to they want to take care of but men would rather want to be sure tomorrow is safe before thinking of today. And like you said men take risk but the few women who would have even considered investment will immediately back out the moment they know there’s  a little risk involved.

Nonetheless there are quite some prominent women in this space and i must be honest i am very proud at such ladies for their contribution towards the growth and development of cryptocurrencies. Simply because women are skeptical and men are a risk taker. They focus more on the chances and opportunity to gain rather than the risk that they might face. They are also into exciting things and they focus more on the latest technology. There are also women who are into cryptocurrency, it's just that men are more interested on it.

Im guessing some of the women who get hired to promote at events at increasing the averages.  Honestly not sure women are better than men with handling money, how do you figure this ? hehe

The study shows that the cryptocurrency events “have a long road ahead toward gender inclusion” and such events have “to change.”

Bizzabo co-founder and customer success chief Alon Alroy said in relation to the study’s findings that “there is a lack of gender diversity” in the cryptocurrency industry and that it is “reflected in the attendance for these events.” He mentioned that such lack of gender diversity is also true for the tech industry in general.

probably it was write more of the men was taking the chances of risk to invest and gain the profit and mostly it was not known by the the lots of women and I think it is the reason for they are not getting this field and entering into this otherwise everyone is eligible for investment in cryptocurrency.

It's not even about that.
Take a look at the statistics that show the number of businesses run by men and women. If you're looking for a job it's much more probable that your boss will be a man, simply because women in general prefer to follow than to lead. I'm not saying that they aren't capable of leading or running their own business, on the contrary, but it's a part of their nature, just like a part of man's nature is to fight. How many times do you see road rage incidents or street fights that involve women?

Not only on business terms or into nature but also this is somehow part of religious aspect.Man is always ahead yet his the one on making decisions specially in all some sort of difficult things
and woman is just a support.

Lets go back to the topic, man do always like to involve with risk and adventure and they are open always with probabilities on making money thats why they do mostly like on risking things up.

The study was legitimate, and having a statistical analysis in each company, you can view that there's a lot of men workers. Cryptocurrency was a definitive study and men was the first who got interested in it so I think it's one of the factors.

Men are good at decisions and always taking a risk, you can apply those skills in the real market so I think there's no more explanation about why is the cryptocurrency events are being attended by men. 8)

Most likely, the reason for this is the lack of women's complete freedom everywhere. The man earn money and the woman takes care of the household. I believe the male prevalence in the crypto world is due to this reason.

There might be a lack gender diversity when it comes to attending conferences and meetings and that does not mean there is a lack of gender diversity in the entire market, when it comes to business and work environment you will see the equality and all the genders are active in this market, just take a look at any company in the market and the projects that came out, you will see women holding good position in majority of the companies

Does it really matter for gender, its not hard to acknowledge generally crypto has miles to go to reach it detestation of proper propagation across a population of people in any country.    Even countries with failed FIAT I dont think BTC has yet proven itself as universal enough to be talking anywhere near to 'normal' or 50% balance across the population.   Not just gender but there is still far too much tech bias in the usage that is required,   I always argue against this and any system needs to be fool proof which is a bad way to put it as we are only referring to ease of use and everyone appreciates such things eventually.    Like a remote control, good tech isnt over complicated it can be used as a side thought

It's time to call out the Feminist Pity Party. Shame men. Demand more women. How dare men make up a majority in the crypto and tech industries, you should all be ashamed! The crypto community NEEDS MORE GENDER DIVERSITY! Equality! Equality! Sigh.

Nothing wrong with more women in the industry, but seriously, it's been around for quite some time, and they've known about this "inequality" for quite a while now. If women wanted to be tech nerds and crypto experts, they would be. It's not like people are stopping women from joining these industries or discriminating against them in it (I presume).

Here's a related video by Prager Univesity. I think similar principles apply here:

There Is No Gender Wage Gap:

because women prefer to care for their bodies and beautify themselves. they are not too interested in technology and investment. women also panic easily using feelings so it is not suitable to become a crypto investor. while men have a more calm, logical, non-feeling way of thinking. so men dare to take risks and invest in crypto. and men also like to learn new technology. so it is not surprising if there are more male investors than women.

It's true. Most women choose humanities or creative professions, and few seek to realize themselves in politics, economics, technology, etc. There are no violations of women's rights or infringement in crypto. They are simply interested in other activities, so this explains such a small number of women in the cryptocurrency world.

The reason that I say they are inappropriate is because women are always very careful, they are very afraid of risks and failures, their nature is quite weak, especially their psychology is always a very thin wall, any external force is too strong, their emotions can also plunge to the worst, and this market always requires us to have a strong and calm mentality, otherwise failure and serious loss will appear

Whoa sexism! You only need to work in a male dominated environment, especially business and sales heavy, add in a mix of tech men and you get at best a geeky, acne filled GOT meme driven office, or at worst wolves in suits eternally clawing at machismo. It's basically just as shitty and emotionally driven when it's a sausage fest.

All for women in tech in blockchain, whatever. But the only way they seem to be doing this is fattening up marketing, pr, sales and comms. No disrespect of course these are professional roles too. But actual tech women will always be hard to find if they're not changing the way education happens.

You are absolutely right, the female presence is very small, even the forum, there are very few women and the truth is missing.

I think the biggest reason is that the man is always interested in finding money to solve all their problems, even to spend on his wife,
wife, or whoever he is with, he will always be forced to look for more money, for that reason that women do not care much.

Yes I agree, because most women are not interested in the world of Bitcoin trading, they prefer fashion than Bitcoin, while men always want to know more about earning money on the internet, so it's natural for men to be more on Cryptocurrency.

I think this is a temporary phenomenon. In time, women will also be interested in and own a cryptocurrency.By the way, a lot of women participate in the bounty programs. It’s not a fact that the number of 79% is accurate.

men have higher speculation than women, not without reason, maybe this is because men work more outdoors and in harsh environments. some women only follow the flow of life. so their sense of speculation is not as big as a man's.
maybe it's also what causes the situation as said by the OP.

Since men has a greater interest than women when in terms of investing, i believe that the statement is true. Most women are focusing on make ups, aesthetics, social media etc because its their thing. Only few have interest in investing. I am not a feminist but i clearly saw this picture now.

Indeed, most women are focusing on issues of beauty and debate about hot issues on social networks, and except for these, they are almost not too concerned about investments or new technology because they have no interest and feel unnecessary, they always know that they just need to do the job well and then look for an ideal man for their life, that is enough, while men always want to grow and develop to create a happy family, for that purpose, men always focus on many areas of investment and new technology, so most people involved in crypto are men

Correct, mostly women even in this era still dominated by men's especially those who are already married, they will just comply with what their husbands will tell them, live a life which leaning alone to directions life will bring them, so mostly the statement from OP is somehow accurate or too close from what reality is.

Most women choose humanities or creative professions, and few seek to realize themselves in politics, economics, technology, etc. There are no violations of women's rights or infringement in crypto. They are simply interested in other activities, so this explains such a small number of women in the cryptocurrency world.
It is even more visible on this forum, I have been overtime watching out for a woman participant and I think I have only found one, but don’t you think that women too need to get involved in cryptocurrency now more than we can ever imagine.

Women have more convincing power more than men and when we come down to the awareness factor thing, they will really do better and whatever a woman believes in, they will make sure they impose it on their men, be it husbands or boyfriends. We need to start looking for a way to engage them and the best way is to look out for one or two of our female friends and explain fully the whole cryptocurrency operation to them.

Lol, I can see that all women are the same worldwide, I don’t know which country you are from, but I can tell you that in my country, this is what ladies are all about, they leave more of the dirty jobs for men to do while they relax and enjoy themselves.

We totally need to encourage more of our women to also try as much as possible to participate in this because through records, I have learnt to also know that whatever they dip their hands into gets successful because of the passion they put in doing it, just that they give up easily, if this market was full of women, we may never see Bitcoin BULL RUN because a lot of them will always panic sell at every drop in price of BTC, but we still have some women that are very strong in cryptocurrency too, I have a partner I can vouch for.

In fact, we can't know exactly the number of women who are in crypto, since the nicknames on bitcointalk and in social networks don't speak about anything yet. Under any name can be hiding both a man and a woman. And in general, I think that most women don't even confess that they are engaged in investing in cryptocurrency.

Right, just based on the username, you can't tell who's who behind that keyboard.

But the evident shows that men are more willing to take the risk just because that's how nature works, risk is already part of our DNA.

But I have nothing against women in this field, as long as they know the risk involved and their tolerance to gamble and risk investing their hard earn money then everyone is welcome.

It really is a good number already. In fact, there is a clear rise on the number of women involved in tech sectors. 20% holds tech job and 17.5% are founders of startups. Over time, this number would escalate since there is a persistent initiative to include women in the tech industry. In crypto, though the percentage of women involved is noticeably low, this doesn't mean that this number won't increase. More awareness is needed if we want that figure to rise. Agree with that, no gender is dominant in crypto as it's cryptocurrency for all, even kids can use this as long as they know how to do it.
The potential users of crypto is very huge, it's just that we are still in the early stage and most takers of this tech are men.

Cryptocurrency investments has more risks compared to other investments so it needs more brave persons that would take the risks. And it only means that men are still the most powerful individuals while women still settle for security and less risks investments. Maybe this gender diversity will become balance once mass adoption  for cryptos is here.

Maybe Men attends the crypto events more than women, but it does not mean that women are not interested in crypto currencies. It is just that Men travel more than women and hence their percentage of going out and attending events is relatively less.  I known women are more patient and they can hold the crypto currencies for a longer time period.

This shouldn't be a surprise given that men are more inclined toward science and technology, but as the market matures I expect more women will be interested in cryptocurrencies. This would be a positive development because it would almost double the pool of people interested in cryptocurrencies, creating additional wealth for those already in the pool. It's a good sign that already there are plenty of women serving as leaders in the industry, such as Lightning Labs' Elizabeth Stark.

If a particular group of people don't have any interest in crypto-currency, then you can't force them to use it. Being a female myself, I have noticed that most of my friends who use crypto tends to be male. The women on the other hand, are generally inclined towards assets with lower risk probability, such as bank savings accounts, treasury bonds and bullion. Also, among the traders you will find a lot more men when compared to the women. This is true not just for crypto-trading, but also for stock-trading.

It was just a noted point for discussion and I don’t think anyone is taking the topic personal to create issue with it, the OP is simply stating what has been realized with putting any form of blame. We just feel that we are not feeling the presence of women that much, and probably because they have less interest in crypto or they feel it is too complicated for them to understand the concept.

No one is saying they should be forced to do what is against their will; we simply can just educate them about the system instead of assuming they are not just interested, and women will really play a very good role in the adoption of cryptocurrency.

Even if this market grows more rapidly over time, the number of women who can participate in crypto has not changed significantly when their personality is quite weak and shy, they like safe investments and don't have too many risks. In addition, if they do not face such psychological problems, they also do not choose to invest in crypto because, as you said, this does not seem to be an area they like, they just like to invest and do business in areas like fashion, restaurants

Well you can't force someone to attend cryptocurrecny event, I mean it is not a gender diversity, it is about making choices in life, we have different passions and different things we wanted to do for ourselves, not because men are attending a cryptocurrency event doesn't mean women are not interested about it at all, maybe they just don't have any idea yet about it and decided to research it at home first than to go directly to that kind of event, cause that is going to make you out of place.

And maybe, women who even have interest in cryptocurrency just want to stay at home and do her work than to socialize with other people, and that is what you called "privacy", you can't force someone to do something that he or she doesn't wanted to do.

79% is actually high, men manage the portfolios of the family, and they are more risk taker than women because women go for savings and safe investment since they manage the expenses of the family, but it will eventually go up, once people especially women perceive that it's much safer to invest in cryptocurrency

I'm generally bullish on propagation of the technology and development of utility through the economy to all applications possible.    So ideally crypto becomes like a remote control not specialised just a useful tool, generalised and easy to use pick up in any state without preparation.   At present crypto is coming from a specialised area and hoping to be used by more people, if we can watch this % of women involved vs other sectors of the economy its probably a good measure for success overall and progress outside of normal speculation on price etc

This statistics may well be correct because currently, there are more men who have cryptocurrency awareness than women. You can even sense this from the discussions in the different cryptocurrency groups in telegrams and other cryptocurrency social media platforms.
Lol, you are even going too far, I know that there is not option on this forum to show the participant gender but from their nicknames here, we will even see that majority of the participants here are males, I have only sensed one or 2 females in this forum.

That is how God has created them, their emotion is not channeled to follow paths like this, but they are good in their own way and one good thing about them is that, whatever they get involved in becomes successful, that is why I am also so eager to see them join our crypto world too and start making their own suggestion that could the blockchain technology more accepted. Come to think of this. What if satoshi was a woman?

I would not argue with this statistics because the cryptospace is really dominated by men and so you should expect the high attendance of any crypto event to be in the favour of men. In spite of this there are a couple of women who are also very prominent in the cryptospace and in future it is likely to see many women taking up huge positions in the industry.

The study shows that the cryptocurrency events “have a long road ahead toward gender inclusion” and such events have “to change.”

This is just a normal thing and it’s difficult to explain. You will hardly see women participate in things like this .even in some work places you will hardly see women cause a lot of people believes that such job is meant for men to do. And btw, if you check, you will notice that majority of the investors in the world are men and not women. You will hardly see a woman who is an investor. I’ve never seen one to be sincere.

yes, indeed there are currently more men entering the crypto world than women, this is not a problem, I think entering crypto is not a gender problem but a problem of someone's understanding of crypto itself.

You have a point here, this is not about gender, it`s about technology and understanding technology. Girls are generally less in technology, so it`s not strange that there are less girls in crypto too. I would like to think that its just currently, and with growing popularization more girls will join, and girls will have their own projects too, blockchain can be applied on everything, they just need to find out more about that and start learning.

Having 21% women attendees are not bad and fair enough since majority of women have other interest and prefer the girly things like fashion, parties and cooking.

I think it should not be treated as big deal.

On the other hand we know men are more open for opportunities, technology and likes to venture on different things hence such percentage is not surprising.

Yeah, where are some fields only done by most men. agree, I think it's hard to explain why more men in online business than woman, maybe passion plays a role here? but I'm more thinking that most women prefer a career in a certain field that is more feminine, not in an online business like this

I would say the same thing. 21% is indeed a very good figure for the female participation. I understand that girls are more into fashion, parties and cooking as you said. But the good thing about Bitcoin is that it is possible to combine these activities with crypto. Even some of the supermarkets are now trying to encourage the frequent shoppers by gifting them crypto-tokens, just like reward points.

It is not surprising that men are into cryptocurrencies more than women. Men are risk takes and are the family providers in most cases hence they have too look for ways to generate income. Most ladies are not into the technology thing and are not risk takers. There are a few ladies in cryptocurrency but their number are not much. With massive adaptation of cryptocurrencies this will change

I think not because they are less skilled at technology, but because they are not too interested in online business, they think that it is only a part of men, even though it is a cryptocurrency for everyone and all genders.
we need more socialization that cryptocurrency is not only a business but also a currency that can be used as an alternative to everyone

How can we conclude that only few women are into the crypto currency based on event attendance?

I can see many forum members are women these days and also trading sites like LBC so they also know about the benefits but women are more selfish so don't want to spread about cryptos to other women. :D

Atleast there is 21% are women. I think it is normal. Generaly men are responsible to earn money for their wifes and children, bitcoin is more cosidered as an asset rather than a currency so maybe woman will only take a small part in bitcoin but if bitcoin is mostly used in e-commerce market place then I am sure that the percentage of women who take part in bitcoin will be increase because women loves to shoping.

Indeed, the reality is why the crypto currency market is dominated by men? because men are more dominated by using logic and strategies in making decisions when trading, while women are not so they prefer to use their feelings every time they make a decision, but indeed in fact not all men and women are not and cannot equated but globally it can be said that.

It's not strange anymore because men generally like to make money for themselves as future savings and future responsibilities after building a family, I think it's very good when men are most important in this matter as cryptocurrency continues to grow with all their responsibilities as builders any project, as time goes by women will soon enter with all the ease of access, now maybe after crypto hype is everywhere because in my country there are still many people who don't know crypto.

Here even, perhaps, it is connected not with risk, but with the fact that men are usually interested in new technologies. Women prefer consistency more. At the same time, krtptovalyutu can be called a new type of business, and this is the lot of men.

Cryptocurrency is still in its infancy and less than 2% of the world population owns any crypto at all (the proportion of active users may be much smaller). So it is too early to look at the gender-wise and race-wise distribution of the users. Once crypto becomes more popular and its acceptability increases, we will find more even and uniform distribution of the users.

I agree with you infact 21% attendees is really good if we see women's participation percentages in other fields too. Moreover, until now we have seen only people closely related to IT and Finance fields have joined the shore of cryptocurrencies and women have never show high participation in Cyber related issues. Once we see instances of mass adoption which means this percentage would definitely increase. Moreover if we leave the developed countries aside. Most of the women in most parts of the world still account for in the dependent population which means they don't have a earning capacity to buy bitcoin or participate in ICOs
