I have joined this forum on March 28, 2018 ( after implement of merit system). Just today I have achieved 500+ merit. It's really happy moments for me. I am sharing with you because I want motivate other people's to contribute themselves.

Less than a year I have earned merit which is Hero Members potential. I just need activity to become Hero member. And I become DT1 by voting system. So why you can't achieve?

Obviously you can, you have to contribute your best experience with forum as much as possible. For example I had worked expose scammer and other corruption. Because I have few experiences about how to find them and I did it. So you can contribute your knowledge and help forum members. Just contribute yourself, don't expect that your every post will merited. Don't post just for merit, your post will gain if deserve.

Motivate yourself and improve your posting behaviour. Don't hold your smerit, distribute it to the community. I never hold my smerit, always try to distribute on good post at least. So handover your merit and make happy other.


Intention of this post to share with community that we can achieve even there is merit system. I am a proof how this community is helpful. So help community and community will help you.

All senior members always keep me motivated to keep posting quality posts. Also, I achieved member rank yesterday. I hope I would be also a hero member within a year. I will just keep working to make my words a success. Also, congratulations on achieving 500+ merits.

Congratulations. I saw your reputation growing up in the forum, and it was quite impressive.

There are many ways to create a reputation here. I saw you focused on exposing scammers, which is a very helpful attitude.

Not everyone is inclined towards exposing scammers. Others users focused on different topics and may also create a reputation here. Merits are just a consequence of a growing reputation.

Others users focus on statistics, technical discussions, etc... All ways are valid, as long as you do it well.

It is easy to reach the top but it is hard to maintain, you have achieved a unique achievement last year, you should continue to work hard to maintain your level and develop yourself.

The obvious answer will be that merits in combination with activity helps you rank up. For example your account is having the rank of a newbie if you earn just 1merit your account will have the potential to rank up to jnr member when you reach the required activity. But merit does more than that, for instance it give you the satisfaction that you're contributing positively to the forum, shows your effort in posting quality post is been appreciated by the meriter etc.

The question "So why you can't achieve?" , has a very simple answer. Not all people are the same and not all are not capable of the same achievement in life, and also in this forum. The first obstacle is of course, insufficient knowledge of the English language, and post written on bad English usually do not get merits.

You also have some special skills which you use to expose scammers, most do not have them or they just do not care to spend time on such activities. Not that I want to discourage someone to follow your way, but statistics show that you belong to a very narrow circle of people that stands out from others.

Merit is an indication of the community opinion of your activities here. Look at the posts that earn you merit, and look at the posts for which others were awarded merit. This will help you to build your reputation here, and to make friends. Alongside that, you need to read and ask questions to learn about Bitcoin and the crypto economy. Unfortunately, the community is often more interested in introspection and self-analysis, than in the propagation of knowledge and new ideas.

Such a good contributor for this forum and help forum members to be careful against the scam projects. I have merited this since I love your way of helping forum clean and contribution. Do more and help everyone.

Congratulations upon achieving your new milestone... This very encouraging and shows how rewarding it is to help the community and also keep it clean by fighting against spammers and scammers. I for sure do not know if i will ever be able to attain Legendary status, let alone Hero status but i will keep trying.

Congrats, man! I've been here since 2014, however only exposing scam coins that I have personal interests/investments or considering to invest on. Thus, it looked like I seldom "scam bust" lately.

It's a thankless vocation, rummaging through many posts and topics and you definitely earn your merits and DT1 position.

My advice though: please focus on busting thieves and conmen. All honest forum users will love you.  :)

Personally, I have come closer to the my next big milestone, 200 merits.

I considered to open a sMerits give-away when I earned 200 merits, but I actually started before I can.
It's there, but it seems that the rules are too hard for participants, only one guy interested in so far.  ;D

Many think this system is flawed. I don't think it is. If you want to help people you will get merrit no other way.

I must admit that I'm impressed! This is probably the best result when it comes to collecting Merit points on Bitcointalk.

The history of your posts is a nice guide for new users and an example of how to earn Merit points.
