Title: [CLOSED] 0.5BTC to 1BTC with Collateral - Repay on the 15/03
Post by: r3db0ne on February 19, 2019, 12:40:09 PM
Hi all,

I am looking for a loan and seeking anyone who may be interested.
There are some goods that I would like to buy however they only accept BTC.
I can repay back with my next pay cycle from work.

Amount
0.5BTC (0.7BTC)
or
1BTC (1.5BTC)

Collateral
I have got these two items in the sale area on the forum. I will use these as collateral (check the buy now prices on eBay for these products)

- Microsoft HoloLens | The leader in mixed reality tech

- Surface Laptop 2 - Matte Black - Intel® 8th Gen i7 - 512gb SSD - 16gb Ram
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5105942.0

Repayment Time
I get paid monthly (15th of each month), will pay back on the 15th March

Additional
I have read that most loans require a signed message?
I am happy to do this if you can step me through on how to do this? or what you mean by this?
Is this just the standard transaction message?

@OP. 1st of all, most people are not going to give you a BTC loan here with real world goods. It's a big hassle to transfer these items to their control. 2nd, it's not considered good collateral if you had previously offered it up for sale. If you need a loan and want to offer real world goods as collateral, it is probably best to just go to a pawn shop rather than here.

In addition to bones' comments, you've already indicated you wish to sell the goods.  Why would anybody loan you money based on collateral we know you don't want back?  That sounds like a backhanded sale to an unwilling buyer.

Furthermore, the collateral you offer isn't worth the value of bitcoin you want to borrow.

@bones261

Thanks for the advice, I can see where you are coming from.
Thought the real world goods could be handy for locals or if people wanted it (and could be shipped), but yes, makes sense.

I'll close down this thread/post within a few days if there's no interest.

@DireWolfM14, the RRP of the products exceed the repayment price. I only dropped the sale price of my items as I do not have use for them and its just collecting dust in my house, however for others it may be handy.
I.e the Hololens sold out within the first month and can only be obtained through Microsoft if you were a proven developer etc.

But thanks for the feedback, I'm thinking that the loan request probably wasn't the best place here (with my collateral and not having a high/rep/high activity on the forum).
