Jussie Smollett, the man who had said that two racist Donald Trump supporters had attacked him, and attempted to lynch him while stating 'this is maga country. This story was found out to be false.

Chicago PD is now looking at prosecuting the actor for falsifying police reports and lying to police.

Personally, I'm surprised to see the Chicago PD go after someone for this, though I am happy to see it.

He also violated federal law by using the USPS to send himself a death threat. Whoops. That might be one that hurts him the most.

What do I think? I think he should be punished in the same way that a woman who falsely cries rape should be punished.  People have whipped themselves into a frenzy - that Trump is ok with rape and so much else. (No. Trump said rich men are surrounded by groupies who LET you put your fingers in their pussy in order to be next to you. Is that crass? Yeah. But he say it in a locker room conversation.)

Not just a death threat, but it had white powder in it... so that puts him in the terrorism arena. Yikes. On the up side he got what he wanted, now he is world famous :)

He was indicted by a grand jury earlier today, and will face felony charges related to his alleged false police report.

This story on its face was ridiculous and not believable. It does not sound like he had any help in planning this scam, at least not from anyone smart.

If I had to guess, I would say Smollett is an extreme liberal who surrounds himself with others who agree with his views, no matter how ridiculous, and never has to defend his views. 

Yeah. What had me shaking my head at the beginning was the fact that people recognized that he was an actor on Empire. Now if this was a pleasant Spring day, then sure, that wouldn't have caught my attention. But it was -10 degrees on a Chicago night and, for those that don't know, Chicago is known for it's biting wind. Everyone has on hats, and hoodies, and balaclavas. They are hunched over and walking quickly to get to where they are going. No one is going look up, no one is going to recognize him with a hat on and hunched over.

And this has nothing to do with all the other sillinesses and inconsistencies in his story.

Poor fella inherited the false-flag gene but not the get-away-with-false-flag gene(ology.)  Sucks to be him...he should have chosen a different mother.

Perhaps when the judge asks him how he wants to plead, he can say that he identifies as innocent.

That and in general, Trump supporters don’t watch Empire.

One of Smollett's siblings was quoted after the truth began to leak out about the hoax: "This is the media, the irresponsible media. It will make the criminal look like he's the victim and make the victim look like he's the criminal."  (Mind you, he is speaking of the same media who covered the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings and the Covington Catholic high school confrontation - so I suppose he has a point).

It's a crazy world that Jussie's story is going to soon fade into oblivion, even though he made up his story. But there are still liberals that swear, without evidence, that Kavanaugh is a rapist.

Well I know people who pretty much live their lives in an echo chamber but none has gone far enough to falsify anything like this guy. I wouldn't be surprised if they say that he's got some lose screws or undergoing "stress" and ask people to understand and pity him.

It looks like he will essentially get off with what works out to be a $100k fine and some community service but won’t have to plead guilty.

Not this time. Too many people want his head. I have been looking into this case and some high level people are possibly involved. Additionally he could still be brought up on federal terrorism charges very easily. If he is not brought up on those charges he most definitely did turn states evidence.

He has the intelligence of a monkey. Go back and look at his story and remember that he actually thought others would believe him.

I cannot imagine him having information that could possibly be useful and if he does, I cannot imagine him being able to document the information so that it would actually be useful (no sane prosecutor is going to base their case on his word).

My suspicion is Michelle Obama got involved.

Exactly, he has the intelligence and malleability of a brain dead person making him the perfect political puppet to take huge personal risks to sell this narrative. Lets not forget that Kamala Harris introduced her "anti-lynching" bill the week that this happened. There are also people suggesting that Harris and Smollett are related, among other shady activities and personalities involved. I would speculate that they probably have some form of documentation to back up the complicity of these other higher level individuals along with any states evidence testimony he has/will give. Besides the local charges, just based on the charges of terrorist threats alone he could go away for a VERY long time. That kind of time has a way of making people very cooperative.

All the evidence IMO points to corruption. The FBI is apparently investigating the circumstances surrounding the charges being dropped, although Kim Fox, the State Attorney in Chicago would likely be the one in hot water legally if the dropping of the charges was not above board.

When Smollett was initially charged, the police laid out the case against Smollett in a press conference, which was unusual, IMO. I am thinking the police may have thought that Kim Foxx might have tried to do something like this when they did this.

This is definitely a very interesting case and one that's left me confused as to what the hell actually happened from the start. The police seemed adamant that this was a hoax and then they went and essentially let him go and Smollet is continuing to protest his innocence. Has any evidence actually been released to corroborate either side? The attack allegedly took place in a public spot outside a Subway sandwich shop. Was there any CCTV from this? Id' assume there would be multiple angles from both city and private cameras. I don't get why he'd be so dumb as to plan this out in such a public space when it would be obvious the police would investigate it in detail.

Either way this looks like something that Trump isn't going to let go so I'm sure the truth will come out eventually.

I do think people who make false claims should receive some sort of punishment.  You can't just go around claiming false rapes and false attacks and expect nothing to happen. 

Many people claim that Trump is a racist and there is actually good reason to suspect he is but they are just trying to divide the population to make them weaker.

There is video footage of "the Nigerian brothers" buying the cord and the hot sauce at a local shop. He also paid them via a check (lol). They apparently planned to stage the event in front of a CCTV camera, but it turns out it was facing the other way. The interesting thing is this was one of the earlier proofs thais was staged, because in interviews he made strange comments about "how was I supposed to know the camera was facing the other way" etc. Everyone thought "I think he doth protest too much" and the investigation changed course after they tracked the "attackers" and discovered their true identities.

I think the overwhelming majority of people would agree with you here. Though there are obvious cases where money and power can get you off the hook, but this applies to every law. You can even get away with murder if you have enough money and your defense attorneys are good enough. I think the likelihood or some sort of deal being done that involved money or influence extended will be very high here.


I think that's what he was playing on trying to tie it to Trump in this way. It's going to backfire though if Trump doesn't let this go and does everything in his power to try get him back.

Frankly I haven't seen a modicum of evidence proving Trump is racist, and any argument to the effect always seems to include a rather extreme interpretation, disgruntled fired employees, or "anonymous sources".

Also, he is pressing The Smolleting because it is what people want (just not the people who don't like him). Think about this for a moment. All they are doing is trying to find a way to not only create further division by staging this act, they are trying to wind up moonbats with Trump Derangement Syndrome to feel justified in attacking his supporters violently. Furthermore this violence has been largely in one direction and conservatives have been EXTREMELY restrained when dealing with violence so far, so it makes it that much harder to muddy the waters of who started it etc. This staged event also serves the purpose of creating false equivalency to make it appear as if both sides of this conflict are equally responsible for violence.

Regarding the CCTV footage who knows, I don't expect him to make any sense at this point. He has recently came out proclaiming his innocence once again, and saying that "the perpetrators" of this incident may have been wearing "white face". This whole event is so absurd on its face it would be rejected in any movie script as too unbelievable. I am hearing more and more discussion now as well that he may have been let go because of Obama's direct involvement as well.

Considering Chicago is his home base that is not entirely unbelievable. It was interesting hearing Rahm Emmanuel the mayor of Chicago recently try to blame Trump for this event after he called the dropped charges on Smollet "a whitewash of justice.". I think his overlords voiced their displeasure and he was forced to walk back his statements some. This town has had at least 4 unbroken generations of corruption to its core though, so in the end none of this is that surprising.

Well to some people every white person is racist. Or orange in this case. Orange man bad. Whilst he's hardly a white supremacist and the media and left calling or comparing him to a nazi or the KKK is totally unfair, I would consider some of the things he's said on race or people as controversial and uneducated. I think you're giving too much credit to Trump. It may be what people want and I think it should be investigated, but he can be very petty and childish and this is the sort of thing he would take personally. I'm sure if it was anyone else who had previously mocked or attacked him that had committed a major or minor crime he'd do everything within his power to one-up them also.

Then there's the ex-NFL guy that thrashed his own place and tried to make it look like a hate crime. Sure, some suspect he's trying to get insurance money but that it's the first thing he thought shows just how fashionable fake hate crimes has become.

The charges were filed right before the election for the prosecutors office. We will see if he actually has the case perused competently. He should serve time in jail but I am not holding my breath. I am also still waiting for Kim Fox to get prosecuted for public corruption, but it might be a while.   

This case is going to end up exposing some powerful people...

Hate to be a cynic but I'm going to be a cynic I think this is going to be a smack down for Jussie and just Jussie, no one else is going to take any damage here. Do we really think this would come out if that was the case? There's no way some random special prosecutor would be able to expose the Obamas just because they wanted to.

The way I see it, the information that is coming out not just in this case, but in relation to Ukraine and elsewhere, it eventually has to happen. All of this is in totality is going to be difficult to cover up. The orders are going to come from much higher.
