This is a very good move for the universities of the Philippines mentioned in the post as this would help people learn about the technology. Learning the technology would be very important and this will help create demands for cryptocurrency and will open new movements to it as well. Educating people about cryptocurrency is very important as people who doesn't possess good knowledge will just take things for granted instead of using the technology for their own good and advantage. So this is a great advances for the Filipino people.

Right! It's a good move for NEM to collaborate with universities here in the Philippines. ADMU is one of the best schools here in the Philippines, once the other schools know about this, they will surely implement it to their university also.

A good move for NEM as well as a good step for these universities that have just opened their doors for this opportunity. This way there will be no excuse for students to be ignorant in matters pertaining to blockchain technology. I wonder why only these two private universities have this courage to embrace this offer, I hope UP and other public universities will also do the same. It is not just enough that we hear and read information from the internet and from words of mouth but it is also very important that we know how to use and apply them. Blockchain is the future, and if we want to catch the trend and go with the flow then we must be knowledgeable about it. I admire NEM for this initiative.

These courses will soon appear in developed countries and developing countries. Blockchain technology is really indispensable in this world. sooner or later it will be widely used and we should be patient and continue to stick to the market for a longer time in order to receive huge profits.
I have heard that the payroll of blockchain technology developers is quite high, ranging from $ 10k to $ 15k a month. This is the dream salary of people in developing countries.

I'm aware with NEM project but don't totally impressed on whats this coin is all about the good thing that they do able successfully collaborate with the most popular universities on PH.
Not a bad move but rather a good adoption for having a widespread awareness of cryptos existence and sharing up about Blockchain tech. This will somehow add up the knowledge if they do consider
to add it up on the curriculum.

It's a good move, though considering that it takes a fortune to study on ADMU, it's better to just take online courses and/or study about blockchain independently with the help of free resource materials on the internet. Not that I'm implying something negative here, but it seems that it's only exclusive to those who can afford it. Understanding and developing blockchains would be a hit niche in the future, and learning it should be available, accessible and affordable for everyone who wants to learn it. A good move by NEM, and hopefully public educational institutions would receive the same programs as well.

As the global ranking of the Ateneo de Manila University keeps going down every year, it might be a good time to bring up innovations there. It's great that students will be able to choose a course on Blockchain technology, but I am concerned with the potential content of the course. Since it's basically sponsored by a specific cryptocurrency project NEM, it seems fair that the course will cover NEM, but if it concentrates on this one while ignoring all of the other more respected projects, the course will provide the wrong understanding of reality which can have significant impact since the technology is still mostly in the shadows.

Wow, was surprised by this news, I envy the young generations of today, a lot of opportunity for them to really take advantage of this new technology and I'm sure those who enter this course will have a good future ahead. I still consider Ateneo de Manila University a good school in the country, so this is a win win situation for Filipinos who really wanted to sought out what this technology is all about and in the future companies who's going to implement it will not have a hard time finding qualified individuals because the training is already been laid out as early as today in the Philippines.

That's right and I'm also so lucky that teenagers are now because technology is increasingly sophisticated, which has many benefits such as this blockchain technology. yes, hopefully not only in Philippines but can spread throughout the world because this technology is great for the future

NEM is pretty big in the country specially with their recent launch of the Loyalcoin token they have heavily partnered up with a lot of local businesses to make the token more stronger. I wonder if it is somehow connected but I do think its the reason why NEM is making a big move in the country because one of their tokens is doing great in terms of usage and in trading. If this becomes successful maybe top universities will be the one asking first instead of them. Philippines is really attracting a lot of attention from the blockchain industry.

Perhaps that's their plan, to be one of the stronghold in terms of blockchain technology in the Philippines and somewhat promote their newly launch Loyalcoin. Maybe they believed that Asia specially the Philippines in the forefront on this new revolution. Philippines has a big market for technology as a lot of good programmers usually come from the country and India. So it could set a precedent as well for other top rated universities to start offering blockchain courses.

Interesting, I think it's high time blockchain as a study should be introduced as a separate school course both in high schools or college. People needs to be educated in the usefulness of blockchain technology and how effective it will be if many sectors embrace it and to also understand that the blockchain technology is not all about 'Bitcoin' .

Wow, I am amazed by this news. Like how popular blockchain technologies are becoming and even university plans to add this as a subject and creates syllabus for it. In Georgia, government signed contract with Bitfury to work on blockchain technologied and adapt them in a lot of services, currently they already impelemnted blockchain for land title registry.
That was a great step from philippines.

Also, NEM went to Technological University of the Philippines and other universities to have a seminar about how blockchain works.

Wow, I am amazed by this news. Like how popular blockchain technologies are becoming and even university plans to add this as a subject and creates syllabus for it.

I don't think so, they're just having seminars here and discuss all about cryptocurrency. It's not quite efficient to study about cryptocurrency but if it's for project study, it's suitable to be a topic. Seminars is enough to learn cryptocurrency not a whole semester, it's just a waste of time and money.

They always doing that since then. Not just in universities but on other sectors as well. They started in a usual regular seminars , renting venues etc.

Honestly, since their commencement of operation, they are always active helding seminars and events. Sometimes they are collaborating on other groups to held seminars on which some of those events location are just near in my workplace. On other blockchain events, they are always present as guest. Even on a bear market, they are active promoting blockchain and it's use.

Not a NEM hodler here but I see the effort of their PH faction in providing awareness about crypto on the country.

From what I read in the article, LPU College of Technology will also be having this blockchain elective course. I'm not so familiar with the tuition fee price range of Lyceum but I believe it to be lower than ADMU's. I'm pretty sure other technical colleges will soon have this blockchain elective as well, it's already a big step for one university to be having it.

What's great about this is having a certification or accreditation once finishing the course. As compared to when you self educate yourself thru sources online, you might not be able to prove to your future employers of your knowledge which was acquired thru the internet. Having completed an elective from a prestigious university may fare differently for a person's career.

Or perhaps other state universities should only include blockchain courses? What do you think? This will be a good curricular, specially if they would include it as some form of electives specially for state universities and not just private universities such as Ateneo, as we all know is one of the top notch schools so obviously the pay is going to be very expensive.

I think this activity of NEM will help people in Philippines understand more about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency as well. Maybe this activity will bring very good effect to NEM and maybe it'll make price of NEM increase a lot, J4F. I think we still need to apply blockchain technology in so many things that will make everything become much easier.

Yes probably that the good sign tho, I am very happy, surprised and excited about this. This is a great move of the Philippine universities to get involve and to let the people know more about blockchain. Blockchain Technology is really a big help for Philippine's technological advancement and entrepreneurship. Blockchain Technology is a great tech to teach to students and let them do their thing with blockchain.

I would like to thank NEM for collaborating with the universities about this project and made someone like me proud as a cryptocurrency enthusiast, seeing these kinds of stuff makes me proud.

It would be great if allot of universities here on the Philippines would have the change to tackle courses related to blockchain innovation such as Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela and PLM, which is accomodating most public schools students that might be able to learn blockchain and develop dapps as well.

good news, friend, but to be able to increase the price of NEM assets requires a lot of investors, maybe the price of assets cannot go up instantaneously but it takes time to rise unless the big whales eat the NEM tokens with super large thick purses.

That's why I like this coin because of this development. I met their NEM Philippines Head before and he is so nice, and he was able to depend cryptocurrency to those critics. This coin might be eliminated from the top4 position in terms of Market Capital but I believe in time it will be back on that position because of this kind of development. NEM is a great coin, it will rise above all again.  :)

This was to be expected! Because still many projects which require the use of the blockchain: the election of the government, land issues, etc.
Nem has already decided to train future professionals who will make decisions on nem platform. They will get a good PR campaign.

Thanks for the share. Since then a lot of Filipinos already been incorporated or affiliated with crypto and now they going bigger and bigger. I guess the elective should be well implemented into other school's not only on those schools. Crypto is a bit wide and needs a lot for everyone to grasp. Im from Philippines so I am very happy to hear this great news. Now everyone can learn crypto in a decent way not just hear crypto is a scam.

This is a wonderful news and certianly the way it is meant to be, kudos NEM. With this, more people will be educated on what blockchain is all about thus going a long way to remove the bad eggs from this system. Blockchain going mainstream starts this way.

This is so good of NEM and I think other projects should follow suit. Giving more people the opportunity to know about blockchain at a younger stage will go a long way in sending the right message about blockchain and cryptocurrency.

This is great move from NEM and Lyceum is a great start. Lyceum have a great program in their I.T. and Computer Science courses and they produce competitive graduates. NEM Philippines did a great job by introducing blockchain technology to the students and it will surely give them great insight on how beneficial and the real world use case of blockchain.
