IOS have give bitcoin symbol on google keyboard, I think will have big effect for bitcoin and altcoin at the future with price will grow up. I hope will have new product and companies want to accepted bitcoin and altcoin as their payment for the future.

I still don't get why Google add it to iOS but not Android. And this certainly brings nothing except maybe acceptance that Bitcoin is going more mainstream (people, in general, have heard or know about it).

android do already suported crypto but on ios , i never see one aside from this little BTC symbol on thier keyboard . this might be the start for apple and ios user to start recognizing the word bitcoin and crypto  .

in addition to android  . theres already a new android device ( samsung s10 ) to be specific that will be launched with a built in crypto wallet .



nothing .we cant get nothing with it but the apple company recieve alot of cash from these implementation . this symbol is nothing for non crypto users but this symbol means alot for us crypto enthusiasts

Nothing, it's just a cool symbol coming in to smartphones considering how big the publicity was for bitcoin in the past few years. Also, there are a lot of crypto enthusiasts that are using iOS phones and machines for their everyday life, and this little symbol Google added on their keyboard can come in handy on some situations. In the near future, this symbol could be on Google's Android keyboard too, knowing how many people are really using android compared to iOS. Anyway price wise, this wouldn't do anything significant aside from a cool little heads up that such a feature already exists in a keyboard.

why is it just the IOS app? anybody else think that's weird? i don't think many iphone users are using the google keyboard.

i also looked at the screenshots. you need to hold down the $ key to see the bitcoin symbol in a dropdown menu. not many people are going to see this!

i'm not complaining, i just think people are overstating the importance a bit.

There might be two things involved here. First is that they probably want to create more awareness among those  who ain't aware of Bitcoin and using their products.
And another second thing is that, they might have done a market survey and discovered that most of their users are making use of it; this they decided to include it. If that will surely make them more money, they wont hesitate to include it. Lol. 

This is probably intended to triggered people to get attention on Bitcoin for those who didn't know what is Bitcoin and that symbol makes them curiosity on that symbol. Or the second option is bitcoin symbol is cool stuff and it must belong to world currency symbol.
We can't deny the fact that bitcoin currency now is very popular that's the reason I guess they include the symbol on iOS in google keyboard.

The fact is that the bitcoin symbol does not appear for iPhone users worldwide as some users from some countries reported that they cant find the bitcoin symbol. I'm iOS user (old iPhone :) )as well and I cant find it on my google keyboard (last update). So I dont see any significant effect from this addition. It is just a symbol in which people are very rare to use symbol, it will bring much more effect if google add something more mainstream.

Yes I agree, this is such a small thing but it kind of normalises
bitcoin and places it with the other valid currency symbols ie. £$€

the only other way to add the symbol is to use an image or bbcode
which obviously doesn't work everywhere

I think it will have a positive impact on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, because iOS is one of the well-known brands in the field of technology development, therefore the presence of the bitcoin symbol in iOS products means it is a pretty good bitcoin marketing strategy because it works with known brand, this will increase investor confidence and interest in bitcoin and automatically this will increase the price of bitcoin.

The gradual (albeit slow) integration of cryptocurrencies into devices used commonly in society has both psychological and practical incentive of making for wider adoption of cryptourrency.It is not difficult to imagine that a large chunk of persons will be using cryptos in the coming  years especially as it is already economically more efficient.

I can honestly say that I've never typed the Bitcoin symbol in my entire life. If someone outside here sent it to me it might take me a few seconds to figure out what they're referring to.

Like almost all 'good news' there is no effect. It's another bit of progress to add to your wank bank that forms the basis for a better future.

It will really turn to a positive impact simply because some IOS user will notice the symbol of bitcoin and afterwards they tend to search it and they will try to buy bitcoin. So if they tend to buy bitcoin the demand on market will increase so the result is high price on market.

at least this helps promote bitcoin. of the many who see it will certainly create a new bitcoiner, and this is what will potentially become an investor, so that it can increase demand for BTC

Rather than promote, something like this infiltrates. If you start to become interested in BTC (my first time using that) and then you notice that it's already embedded in the services you already use it adds an extra sheen of confidence.

If it's the same as on Android, where you have to go to symbols, tap and hold on the $ and then select BTC it's a pain in the ass

As I was saying above, you first need to find it.
But if you honestly think that somebody who has an iPhone and who has probably heard about BTC a thousand times before and decided not to buy, is going to do so now because of a fancy symbol on his keyboard you really need to get in touch with reality.

It is just creating awareness man, it can't hurt. I mean its not a huge deal, it would have been a big deal if it was 5 years ago, but right now whenever you ask someone if they know what "bitcoin is" they usually do, they are aware of its existence.
5 years ago when I first started to actually make some decent money thanks to bitcoin I wasn't really getting through to people, I was trying to tell them how I make my money and what bitcoin is and most of the time they didn't know what it was.

Today even elderly people (not like 80+ but more like 50+ types) now what bitcoin is. Hell my father who is 60 years old called me up about some news he found about bitcoin online. That's why the app icon is not really a huge deal but its always better to have that than not have it.

Even if the only thing it brings is the recognition of Bitcoin becoming more popular, it's definitely not nothing. We all have been discussing cryptocurrencies for years, we remember a lot of ups and downs and various claims of people and companies. It seems like we are a big community, but there aren't even 100 million crypto users in the world. And many people who heard of it either know that it's the money of drug dealers or that it's a bubble/ponzi. The fact that reputable companies add the symbol of this currency proves that they don't think it's one of these. In this particular case the symbol is available along with thos of fiat currencies, which also means an important and not very common recognition of bitcoin as a currency rather that pseudo-security or commodity.

It means Google has recognised that bitcoin is not a passing fad that will go away, this baby is here to stay for the long run. I'm going almost all in with crypto, last chance before the train leaves

Well its a small thing but it can bring awareness to people about cryptocurrency especially to those who are not updated to whats the current trend in the internet.

It might not be big deal for others but for us crypto enthusiasts its nice seeing such symbol in ios as well as in other device.

how many people even know to hold down the $ sign to get the dropdown menu? i've had an android for a long time and i didn't even know that function existed until reading this story.

and of course, they didn't even add the bitcoin symbol to the android app. seems totally weird to me. google and android go hand in hand usually.

i would be very surprised if there were even 100k gboard users on iphone. among them, few will probably even notice this. :D

Most iOS user are educated and if bitcoin symbol added in iOS, i dont think it will give big effect. Most of iOS user must be already know about cryptocurrency and blockchain but perhaps with adding symbol they interesting to invest in crypto

Its awareness for crypto community in the middle people said crypto is a buble. If iOS adding bitcoin symbol, there must be something big will coming and thats must be good for bitcoin community. Soon or later people will familiar with bitcoin in any device

the addition of the bitcoin symbol into iOS is not a big influence in bitcoin price movements, the addition of the bitcoin symbol only makes it easier for people to give bitcoin writing, and that will have a big influence when there is good news happening in bitcoin.

How can adding one symbol in IOS have an effect in the increase of the price of bitcoins? I do not see the correlation between the two stated causes. Although it might make people curious about the said symbol, concluding that it will have a significant effect on its price is unwarranted.


How can one symbol effectively influence the price movement of bitcoin? There are various factors to consider when analyzing the price movement of cryptocurrencies and concluding that one symbol will make such a huge price movement is fallacious. One positive effect of it is that, it gives awareness to individuals who are not knowledgeable about the cryptocurrency world.

I am not sure whether it will make any significant change because everyone have heard about bitcoin unless you are living in a isolated island without the outside world news, but majority does not know how and what to do in the market and they think it is a geek market and unless you break that jinx and make sure that every Jack and Harry can follow the guidelines on how to purchase and save the coins properly, you wont see the general population getting interested in it, having a bitcoin symbol could trigger some people to find out about the market, slow and steady we will win the race. :)

The interesting thing about this announcement is that if Google has done this is because they have seen a growing interest in Bitcoin and they expect the number of Bitcoin users grows significantly in the future.

Nothing really big I don't really think this news will have any impact on the market, by the way, what these major companies doing is amuse me they do acts that reflect some support for Bitcoin and at the same time they never say something official.

This is a very small, but positive step and it can be a sign that a giant in the IT industry like Google, has taken another step towards recognizing BTC as one of the main currencies.

They probably added it because maybe many people are using the term crypto currency or more specifically "bitcoin". So this means that more people have heard about the term bitcoin and is some what interested on that currency. It's not a bad thing to be honest. The symbol will also catch the interest of the people who does not know what bitcoin is. All way around, it's still a good thing for us.

I think your opinion is correct because the more technology develops and the more people who know bitcoin, then surely big companies like Apple, Google and others must be able to adapt to be able to continue to benefit.

There is going yo be a big reach amonst current generation without huge cost on advertisement. Google has taken it very seriously and it shows how bitcoin has much involved in the current tech market amongst goofle users. A good sign though. Nothing directly significant. Just one more symbol on Gboard (makes me wonder why this came out first on iOS instead of Android). One obvious benefit of course is we no longer have to use ฿ as a stand-in when talking about bitcoins outside the forum.

It might affect people subconsciously though since it IS among the currency symbols. When it also comes out on Android every smartphone user would see it as BTC as a currency symbol.

Just a small cosmetic change. Nothing much is gained from adding the symbol to the keyboard.

It may help increase bitcoin's presence in the public's consciousness but nothing more than that. Some people who've never heard of it might say "What is this currency?" and then look it up. Some people who've heard about it might think "So, it is legit". And so forth.

The most important thing that gets from the Bitcoin Symbol is the iOS keyboard, for me, as I do, especially I can use the Application to access revenue privacy for Android from iOS, the effect or positive thing is more directed to the original Apple keyboard, as opposed to the versionGoogle, showing the terms of Google's own permission to prevent adoption, whether it's an organic or paid effect, this is very ironic is a form of reality for iOS users.

I am agree, its help increase bitcoin's presence in the public. And if public knowing about bitcoin, they might searching and studying about bitcoin and people think its legit investment

I don't know for sure, what influence the bitcoin symbol has on iOS, but it doesn't seem to affect the price of bitcoin to go up. To be sure, with the symbol of Bitcoin on iOS, it will add a lot of people to know Bitcoin, by using iOS quite a lot in various countries, this can be a place to introduce Bitcoin to everyone.

Bitcoin symbol on ios is nothing a big thing. From my personal view this could help in adding a good number of users to the cryptocurrency network. Apple adding this is just a recognition to bitcoin from the leading brand. When the same gets done by more such brands automatically some positive impact gets created upon bitcoin.

What's the deal of having a symbol of Bitcoin in iOS?
It just tells that Bitcoin is having a worldwide adaptation and apple didn't turn a blind eye to the crypto world too.
Since cryptocurrency is on the trend even in movies it is mentioned too, I bet most actors and directors are acquiring cryptocurrency for themselves for investment.

Putting the symbol in the iOS will definitely attracts a lots of people to learn about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency it will improve the rate of investors in short time and it will also been a good promotion for this field.

I don't think that having the Bitcoin symbol in iOS would signify that there is worldwide adaptation, but instead that people know about it enough for Apple to add it. Honestly, there's a lot of symbols that people hardly ever use on a daily basis but I think that having a bitcoin symbol would allow crypto users who are apple product users as well to utilize it or just simply have fun with it. Perhaps the recent hype over it last 2017 has contributed to this.

Google does it doesn’t mean that Apple should also do the same thing. Yep. I have seen it on the keyboard, it pops up once you press and hold the $ key on the keyboard. Bitcoin is recognized around the world and I don’t see any reason why Google shouldn’t add it cause they are tech giants and owns one of the leading search engines in the world.
