Title: EMIs that allow you to top up your balance with card for free?
Post by: hashtag on February 22, 2019, 09:41:08 AM
Which ones (might not even be crypto friendly) allow you to top up your balance with them with card for free? Or with minimal fee?
The only one I know is Revolut which is free and transferwize which has like 0.20% fee.
Any others?

Are you talking about the list of Debit or Credit card that able to top-up with bitcoin or crypto?

I think there is no free service like this but there are some Debit or Credit card service with less fee to top-up the card.

Anyway, you can check these links below.

- Unofficial list of Crypto Debit cards (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DRbTeMCzb4UeXI0YlAzBxMc2u2i0cN_17Ql6eMngK6E/edit#gid=0)

No, he isn't looking for a service with a card to top up with bitcoin. He hasn't mentioned bitcoin and even said: "not even to be crypto friendly".
He talks about EMIs where he can top up the account with a card "for free Or with a minimal fee"

0.20% is very cheap, most of the time it goes around 2-3%. I have no idea how Revolut is making it free since it's a fee charged by VISA or MasterCard

Yes, that's what im talking about.
Most crypto cards have bad currency conversion and other fees, but if you can use them to top up services like revolut instantly in the cards native currency then you can take advantage of the more established services like Revolut which have pretty much the best fees.

Revolut freezes accounts way too often to be usable though and TW is acceptable with the 0.20% fee but are those the only 2 that support card top-up?

Sorry for asking this I just want to ask if what does EMIs exactly mean? Maybe I could help If I know some EMIs accounts where you can topup with cards.

When googling I found 2 different meaning the one is "Education Management Information System" and the other one is "Electronic Management Information System"
That's why I'm confused is it related to education?

It has nothing to do with what you found. It stands for Electronic Money Institution/Issuer. The term refers to the e-money companies such as Payoneer, Neteller, Advcash, Skrill, Payza, etc, since they're not and can't be called "banks" It includes some prepaid card service as well. (the ones that you can top up with a voucher from the supermarket)

There is a new EMI for european citizens. You get an IBAN number and you can order a plastic mastercard. You can top up your balance with card, exactly like what you're looking (for free). I verified my account this week and I tried 3-4 times to do it, it works very well.  :)
The android application is Yeeld

Their site is only in french so I suppose they are limited only to french citizens?
