Title: Upgrade Security System
Post by: ApemQ on February 25, 2019, 12:19:24 AM
I apologized before for this post, without reducing respect for the moderator, admin and forum leaders here.

Various incidents of hacking accounts are nothing new in the internet world. even though we know sometimes what causes an account to be hacked is negligence from the users themselves. whether it's stuck with phishing web, or not careful in storing identity to login.

However, this should also be our job to think about so that at least we can minimize the hacking of accounts. maybe there are some things that can be done by upgrading the forum security system. the application of 2fa google authenticator in some webs can be said to be quite successful to minimize the occurrence of account hacking. maybe the admin here can consider implementing the security system, so this can protect users in this forum.

Please remind me if I have an error in speaking.🙇

I think if you have to use a strong password So hacking the account is not so easy, But you need to know the common issues for using the Internet.

How can I use a strong password?

Ans: first use 4digit any name first Capital later and then small later (ex: Apem), then secondly use 4disit number(ex: 1234), lastly use 4digit special character (ex: @#$%), You need to have a password (ex: Apem1234@#$%)
It is almost impossible to hack your password If you are cautious.

Most hackings aren't due to the system/software's security; majority or most are simply due to unfamiliarity on how to properly secure their account(s). You know, the usual things like:

1. Unsecure 8-12 digit dictionary password
2. Using the same passwords over multiple accounts
3. Saving passwords on unencrypted text/word files

One of the best ways to combat hackers/scammers is to equip yourself with proper knowledge.

Having the different elements in clumps is not good practice for a good password. I usually use a password manager to generate my passwords. Only problem with them is that I need my password manager, since I can't keep the passwords in my mind.

Thanks for recommendation password.
then what if there is some kind of malware that can access our device? I think it's unique and strong passwords are still not very safe.
The admin can add login information, which is sent to the registered email so that the user knows and can confirm that it is his own activity or another party.
try when there are 2fa it must also be much safer.

many don't realize, there are a number of bitcointalk fake sites like the word

I found three more clone

Yep, I just share my some knowledge and experience, I just gave one example There might be something better than that However, if using a strong password is given and if you are a little careful about hacking the account will be difficult.

Edit: Because the special characters can not find the computer very easily.

Perhaps 2FA could be implemented in the new forum software... but until it's out. We don't really know whether this issue will be addresses. This has been discussed here so many times but for now your accounts security is entirely in your hands.
- Strong long password
- Very excellent anti virus
- No unnecessary downloads and installations of software and add-ons

If someone wants to write a patch for it, I will seriously consider adding it. I believe that safely adding 2FA would be very time-consuming, so I'm not willing to do it myself or direct Slickage to do it.

Please try to search before you make new thread. Don't make just post for earn merit, post if you have good suggestions for forum.
There is few post when I used search button for 2FA

1. Why can't we set up 2FA on this forum? It would be a good idea. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5073921.msg48133731#msg48133731)
2. Bitcointalk Account Security (2FA)  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5043895.0)
3. We need 2FA, and we need it now. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5037071.0)
4. 2fa on bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4679821.0)
5. Isn't it time to introduce 2FA to enhance user account security ?  (http://Isn't it time to introduce 2FA to enhance user account security ?)

And so on (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=search2), there is more thread. So you can learn from that post why still not implement 2FA.

Already people mentioned that why 2Fa can't be implemented so what we can do to secure our bitcointalk account.

1.Add an working email to your account - it will be better if you can manage a separate email only for BTT
2.Never use same passwords on any login which passwords are used on BTT and used email
3.Stake your bitcoin address -  it is the only way to recover your account if got hacked.

Yep we need to new security system. I vote we all club together to create a fund, and we pay TMAN ro go and smack the heads of people who waste admin time by not adopting sensible security measures.

The cheaper option would be to provide them with a condom that they could use to completely enclose their heads whilst they are on their computers.

Or may be just use some secure password manager. I agree with op's suggestion too, 2fa would provide additional security.

Besides using strong passwords and keep them safely backups online or off-line (should be off-line backups), checking potential threats before installing anything in your devices is essential to protect and keep your accounts safe.
I created a topic on this issue:
