Title: Voting with Blockchain happening in Australia using HST on Halo blockchain
Post by: jchi2210 on February 26, 2019, 07:49:11 PM
Hey guys, I wasn't sure if any of you saw what Southern Australia is doing with the Horizon State token using the Halo Blockchain?

What do you think about voting on the blockchain? It's definitely a great use case for blockchain technology and paints it in a good light for a change.

Well if it is done on the state level then this is massive and great news for blockchain tech community im sure this event will pave way for more and more usage and implementation of blockchain tech in all the practical fields for transparency and efficiency.

Using Blockchain for election means a completely clean selection. Without edge intervention, without a dishonesty. It will be like the light for those who want to try the power of this system, to see more beautiful, more democratic future.

This is really cool. Many sectors keep harnessing the greatness of blockchain and I strongly believe voting on blockchain will be extremely cool. This is because there won't be any form of rigging of election since information recorded on blockchain cannot be altered or deleted. Nice piece, I must say.

This is a very interesting use case for blockchain. If successfully done, it will prove to the World that blockchain is way more than crypto, blockchain can be a way of life.

I'm definitely of the same opinion. I think they were in talks with a political party from New Zealand as well to hold their party voting. Seems like Horizon state can do good things as long as they produce a quality platform. It helps to have a free blockchain, because lets be honest, no one would pay gas costs to vote. It's a true testament to Halo's speed, affordability (its free), and their reliability.

I'm very optimistic with voting on blockchain. Votes cannot be withdrawn, modified or deleted. That's how transparent the blockchain technology is and this should be adopted by most of the countries who have been dealing hardships determining if they have a clean elections. If you can also update us with this news after the elections Australia, please do. This is one of the most useful usecase of blockchain, I'm not saying that it's only good for elections but for almost everything where it is applicable.

this is very good if a country uses blockchain technology, because the progress of technology will greatly affect the progress of a country for the future.

It is definitely a good use case for voting, but it is important to use what blockchain to solve the solution.

A great Blockchain use. However, does it bring any consequence to the voters? I mean who voted for whom will be public that may breed hatred?

This is a very useful and honest use case for blockchain technology and a good precident for all crypt space, showing a real blockchain power and opportunities. I hope more countries goverments will use it in their vote systems.

I don't know what to think about this application of blockchain technology. While it can be a powerful tool to fight against fraud suspicions, how do you ensure the voter's privacy? How do you guarantee that each person's vote can't be traced back to them to know what has each person voted?

That's exactly what went through my head when i read this news. Only if it is certain that the votes are not comprehensible, it is actually good to use the blockchain. Otherwise the votes are saved forever and may eventually be used to harm or punish someone for having given his vote to someone specific. I would not like that. Elections are free because they are anonymous and that has to stay that way.

Most of the countires won't allow blockchain technology in the voting system because they can't able to cheat if they implement. But if this happens in all the general elections the this world will get much better from now, because good leaders will pave the way for great success for their ation and their country's people.

This is very Unique and I believe people will come up with some positive approach on block chain technology, Every country should move towards success and I do see this voting system is a great Idea. hopefully there will be a happy news coming from southern Australia about block chain.

Such system should be shared to countries where election is very much troubled every time. Blockchain is proven transparent and immutable if some candidate claims to be cheated, I don't know which I would trust after it. They really need to adopt blockchain even in the accounting of companies, the wealth of government need blockchain to easily check balances.

I think it would be great to see more and more countries start to adopt blockchain voting. Not saying Horizon State is the future for all voting but they definitely have it figured out with 50k+ votes happening. The key here is for mass adoption to take place, the end user doesn't have to know anything about crypto or even know they are voting on the blockchain. To me, something like that is not possible at all with blockchains that require gas costs. Can you imagine if Vechain tried doing this? All voters would have to go and purchase VTHO just to vote lol, at least with ETH they can take the gas costs out of the native token. But Horizon State is using the Halo blockchain, its instant and its free. No gas costs for any send/receive transactions. I think they plan on porting over from ETH to Halo at some point if everything works out correctly.

Voting with the aid of blockchain is a good news. It will be more secret even far more than the secret ballot voting that is already known. Block chain can not be rig, manipulated. It will be fair in totality.

Definitely this is very very interesting that southern australia is conducting voting system for block chain, and I believe this news will be shared across the world where people get the freedom to say or no to this technology. where in few other countries they have banned it as  crypto is a Illegal activity.

If this is true, then this is the news I have actually been waiting for and this is a good development for blockchain and the members of this great community. Voting via the blockchain is what will solve the issue of manipulations in the elections and also begin to make elections free, fair and credible.

This is a good development and other government of the world should learn from this and begin to adapt this technology into politics.

I am definitely in favor of this. I am tired of reading news about electronic voting systems that are being controlled by some powerful political groups. If only this can be done in all countries.

IMHO voting on the blockchain is a great idea: cheaper, faster, more transparent. But people can be scared transparent voting in some countries.  They can be aware that the current government will see that you are voting for other people.
