Title: Phobia
Post by: markstivn98 on March 03, 2019, 02:18:32 PM
Phobia is an advanced stage of continuous and intense fear of a certain thing
or position that leads to avoiding that thing or attitude.
This may include avoiding a degree of disability.
Do you have a phobia or fear of something?

I have a fear on high places but when I was a kid I didn't have this kind of fear,
Other than that I don't think I have a phobia.

I know information. If you fear something,
try it and break your fear. The high places are scary for me as well.

I have a phobia of seas or large and vast bodies of water, its also known as Thalassophobia. This due to a traumatic near-death experience of drowning in a pool, back when I was 10 years old in 4th grade. Now, I think I've developed a new kind of phobia, I fear to lose my private keys to access my BTC. This because last year I accidentally formatted my hard drive with the codes in it losing a total of 2 BTC. So, know I'm trying to regain it by investing in Bitrus (BTRS), an award-winning crypto exchanger.

I also have that fear of heights and in phobia's term it is acrophobia. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrophobia)

I'm grown up but I still have this kind of fear, this has been built when I was a kid and I just can't overcome it. Somehow I'm also scared with dark places.

I almost drowned like 25 years ago, so I began to develop a fear of water or at least going to a beach and swim. So if there are vacations somewhere in the beach, I go but I don't want to go swimming.

And I'm to now only few of my families known this secret of mine, and up to this day, I still owe something to my friend for saving my life. And it still haunt me, sad to say.

I've also have that kind of fear in large area covered by water but not really i have phobia with it, I guess drowning when was kid is part of the childhood  :D Now you fear of losing your BTC again, i guess that is somehow a Chrometophobia because that is afraid of losing money. You're trying to attain it again by investing on Bitrus? can you elaborate that one please?

Heights. I don't know why I'm having fear of heights, that's why I can't really go that high (elevators or even open space high places) otherwise I will be in a nervous breakdown.

I have a phobia that is fear of heights.

It's so hard to fight it. I think that when I'm so high, I think I will be having a vertigo even though I don't have that sickness and will fall. How do you think I could fight this?

You must fight your fear.
Never climb simple heights.
Then try the heights
This may help you get rid of your fear.

I am claustrophobic meaning I am afraid of very tight places. I've discovered this fear a few years ago when I had to pass between two walls(of two garages) in order to get where I want, and I almost got stuck there. Now even watching videos on YouTube with people exploring different caves makes me feel bad.

That's one of the most common phobias for normal people but i think these fears can be addressed and negated. I also had claustrophobia back when i was younger and i can say it was quite severe. How did i overcome it? I got into caving and spelunking. I had friends that were very good support group and they were determined to remove me out of my phobia. It was difficult at first of course but ny the time you realize you overcame it, it's really fulfilling.

I experienced our compound was burned accidentally and the destruction it made was memorable for me.

Luckily, when the fire is near to our house, fire fighters came and cooled off the situation.

I read some phobias and realized that this is not a shame. To be honest, I'm afraid of insects since childhood. Maybe you know how to overcome it?

I can't think of any but heights do scare me but doesnt make me hysteric so I don't think it can be called phobia. I am scared of bull frog, just the appearance of it and it makes me crazy, I can even pass out by touching it accidentally  ;D. I don't know if it is called phobia too. When I am in the province I don't go walking in the night or dark usually because I'm afraid of bull frogs. I don't know what is so scary with them but by just seeing it makes my heart beat so fast and scream.

Yes, I have Policephobia..

The truth is that the police do not give me confidence or that sense of security that they should. Every time I see a police officer I get tense and don't know what to expect...

I don't think I have one I only got scared from some creepy dolls or would be afraid if I am on a really high place and I would look down.
But I don't think that it is a Phobia since I could look at some dolls and be on a high place sometimes.

I agree! Losing it and being able to get over your phobia is such an achievement that'll make you a better person. My advise is that if you're afraid of something, don't dwell on it. If youkre given an opportunity to face that fear and overcome it, don't hesitate. Being exposed  our fears sometimes is a blessing since we get the chance to face it squarely. Trust me, when you get rid of a phobia, it'll be like being a brand new, refreshed feeling.
