Title: [ANN] Block Collider Mineable multichain
Post by: whynotbit on March 03, 2019, 09:29:35 PM
Block Collider A mineable multichain created
from blocks on other blockchains

This is a community thread of Block Collider (http://www.blockcollider.org (http://www.blockcollider.org))

https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRlkvZG04XXhM4i6vo6aapYb31zdrprDihrp_AL9eExKI__JAqM

A mineable multi-chain protocol for stable coins, decentralized exchanges, and meta contracts.
Building a stable global state of the entire blockchain ecosystem. No validators, master-nodes, or centralization of any kind.

Block Collider is the first true “multi-chain”, which at genesis will connect 6 chains - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Neo, Waves, Lisk and another chain that is yet to be named. Block Collider’s core ledger is the aggregate of all blocks on all member chains, giving rise to the term “multi-chain”.
With the adoption of Block Collider’s multichain technology:
• transactions and smart contracts can initiated or executed by smart contracts on other blockchains
• secure transactions can be bridged between blockchains without "witnesses", "trusted nodes", or
centralization of any kind
• transactions between chains can be sped up beyond the speed of either bridged chain
• smart contracts can be guaranteed to execute automatically
• distributed application developers can modularly combine exotic features from blockchains
across the ecosystem
• distributed application developers can build in the capability to load-balance work between
chains
All of these features can occur without code changes to any of the bridged chains — the system is
designed to be compatible with the existing ecosystem. Moreover, with its quick block times, and
with the drastic deduplication of work that its architecture provides, the Block Collider makes an
exceptional platform upon which to build truly decentralized systems.

To get started trading using developer mode: https://github.com/blockcollider/bcnode/blob/master/README.md (https://github.com/blockcollider/bcnode/blob/master/README.md). Important to note you should not be syncing with other developers during this time. Sycronized mining happens after the community vote. People who can get ahead during this time: building a custom miner, building a mining pool, building a block explorer, building your own decentralized exchange on Block Collider. Short time Roadmap
March 2nd 2019 to April 21st - “Momentum Building: Arc Block Period” Together the Block Collider core team, 5 research contributors, 300 Evangelists and 1400 people in Block Collider Advanced. That is more engineers than work at CBOE + NYSE + NASDAQ combined. Anyone can request the ARC Block. UD mode enables working together on the open source code base.

April 21st to April 23rd - The community will vote on EMB Nation reviewing the outcome of the Arc Block Period. If the vote clears the ARC BLOCK will be sent to all clients (even consumers).
Clients, mining pools, other languages, and all of the amazing things you can do with Proof of Distance.
Goal is to build together, decentralize as it should, resolve any issues, contributing with code, bug reports and documentation to the project to make the first, validator free, true DEX even better than it already is!
Actual Roadmap pic below is pretty outdated, changes, delays and such.
A new one will come after the annoucement of Overline

Indeed LoyceV made it happen. I hope those given merits were worth it. Anybody wanting to contribute to this page is more than welcomed. Will update it as more info pours in.
Thx for the support guys.

Transaction mining is open to anyone and does not require ASIC hardware to mine. This allows anyone on the network to have an economic incentive to participate in the network whilst achieving greater throughput and greater load distribution, reducing the strain on the network.
2) Emblems – Block Size Bonus (Refer Whitepaper Section 3 – Mining on the collider for technical details)

even this factor alone is enough for the financial interest of network maintenance.
yes very interesting project

To anyone wanting to dig in the project, site has been updated, new cool stuff, mining, decentralization, BC swag, and all needed to dig it. Devs wanting to help out, very open community always up for new brains, "We are looking for core developers in RUST and Node.js, scientists of cryptography and mathematics, and have multiple specialists working with Development Grants"

it seems that this is a sincere project with no overwhelming promises. no premine it is! but i want to see how Proof of Edit Distance will work on your advantage? will it be the next big thing in blockchain technology?

POED
The mechanism Block Collider uses to weave the bridged chains together is built into the multichain’s consensus mode, Proof-of-Distance (PoD). Competitors in the space, as mentioned earlier, use validators or trusted nodes to find the latest block-state for every chain they are bridging. Block Collider takes a different approach, tasking its miners with solving for PoD, a variation of Proof-of-Work which is based on Cosine Distance
PoD involves miners who receive the latest blocks from each bridged-chain. They are tasked with finding a hash that lies between all of the header hashes of that miners have collected from the bridged chains
it is a mathematical and fully decentralized solution to finding the “intermediary hash” of all bridged chains at any given time. Miners who successfully find the closest intermediary hash, thereby creating the next Block Collider block, are rewarded in NRG, the native currency in Block Collider’s multichain  There is only one next block, making for a hypercompetitive mining process, which will only scale as more bridged chains are included into the protocol.
The "mining" of the Collider multichain is the computational challenge of finding a hash that satisfies a minimum edit distance between the hashes of member chains, its transactions, and its previous block. Block Collider uses the Cosine Similarity algorithm to score the similarity between two hashes.
the Collider multichain is targeted to release a new block approximately 5.5 seconds lagged behind the most recent block of any of the bridged blockchains.

Basically BC's blocks are created by finding the nearest block of the bridged chains, adapting constantly.

I hope this helps a bit.

As i know ico was a year ago. Why still token not trade on the exchange?

Because the project is still in development, finalizing it, so tokens will be unlocked in the coming months, 21-23 april community vote should be the moment.
Lot to come until then.

Latest article which sums up why BC is a fantastic project pushing decentralization further, no validators, mineable very soon. get your gears ready.

Polkadot and Cosmos are going to be surprised. This is the only interoperability project whose consensus is a varianf PoW.
God damn it, finally someone showing up here !!! hurray :) Glad to see you Codonyat

Yeah, BC is for now the first interoperability without validators, gonna hit hard when everything is up and working. Expecting some hype coming through once borderless will be useable by non tech guys.
And soon mining will be possible and get rewards, for everyone wanting to.

It would be a good idea I think, but it is lot of work and I did this thread for the fun, nothing more, I am not part of the team and don't think they would pay for it.
So if you consider it as an exercise and fun, go ahead, but if your goal is to get a compensation (apart from a warm thx for the team and a welcome in the community) better not.
But it is indeed a very promising project indeed and one worth to follow. Come on EMBnation forum to join the fun.

Haha, sorry it took so long. It seems BC community is mostly in telegram. I sometimes lurk in here here but never comment.
At least you came, I think you're the only BC supporter who took the time to post here, most are just ranting/talking on tg but not willing to create some attraction to this thread...

It seems the topic has been forgotten for a long time.

Update important information

Overline Network(previously known as Block Collider) has launched its token today. $EMB is now trading on Uniswap. The startup has raised $7M USD in April 2018 (1 EMB = $0.075).
