How many of you fine folks are as relieved as I am that iasenko changed his avatar?

I really like iasenko, I believe he is a fine person, and certainly a valued, contributing member of the community.  But DAAAAAAMN, his avatar has been creeping me out for 11 months now.  Such a dichotomy made it hard for me to give him merit even when it was well deserved.

Am I the only one?  Am I being weird?  What's the community's consensus?

I've never been a fan of avatars or signatures on any forum, so I have both blocked.  I've never seen iasenko's.  Can anyone show me what he had, just for the hell of it?  I'm curious to know how creepy it was.

Edit: Meh, that's not creepy IMO.  Vod's avatar is about on par with that one in its oddness.

Barnes, Catmur & Friends has just released a new Benjamin Button-esque billboard campaign for Okuma (it's Kiwi for fishing, don't you know). And it involves some pretty classic, quintessentially swarthy young/old seadogs. Ah, don't they grow up and get tattoos and have facial hair and start smoking pipes and reeling in those big ones so fast these days.

OMG guys. ROFL . I've changed my avatar every time I ranked up. So the last avatar was there for a quite long time. I'm gonna make a gallery with all my old beard baby avatars.

Lol, OP, I also have similar feelings about his avatar(s) :D. For me it's really weird and a bit creepy avatar. I remember that someone called Dig Bicks even asked him to change avatar via PM :D.
I don't know what is on current iasenko avatar, but it looks meh compared with tattooed bearded baby...

Man, the one below iasenko's old one is amazing. The baby with the moustache and the beanie hat. Looks like a baby Ron Swanson. Can someone please start using that one.


The animated signature campaign avatars can be annoying at times, but a simple Firefox (or Tor) tweak disables them. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5114171.msg49915568#msg49915568) I quite like standard avatars - if I'm every quickly skimming a thread, I know which avatars to look out for as a signal to pay closer attention to that user's posts.

Lol, that is a good one.  Despite the "wife-beater" tan lines, it's almost not creepy.  Almost.

BTW, I've received a few PMs with requests to change my avatar coz people didn't like it. That was some months ago... But c'mon, I don't see them offensive,and the simple explanation is that I'm a newbie (baby) in the crypto world and I love my beard. That's all.

I use another avatar in the other forum where I'm active...

I used to hang out on a local mountain biker forum where nearly all the members took to using pictures of Black-Eyed-Kids as avatars.

If you don't like my avatars (sometime later will put my old one back), there's always a way to fix that. There is one tiny little link under my avatar and trust link, called IGNORE :) feel free to exclude me and my avatars from your nightmares... :) Cheers... :)
