Title: What do you hate the most about your current exchange?
Post by: pekobites on March 12, 2019, 05:22:20 PM
I'm really curious about what other people hate about their exchanges, maybe if we start complaining loud enough the exchanges will improve or new exchanges will solve these issues.

Right now what I hate is the fact that I don't have access to the private keys of my funds, I don't feel secure because of that.

Also, I would for the process to be simplified and streamlined, I want to buy crypto with Fiat as easily as I buy stuff on Amazon.

So, what would you change? what would you remove? and what would you add?

Well yes. How many would not have financial projects. While cryptocurrency purchase is a tedious process. Well, if all over the world will accept the cryptocurrency, I think it will be possible to buy things like on Amazon.

I agree with you and I have big troubles with the method of centralised exchanges to store our funds. We are losing all our funds and practically do not have access to them at all. Thats why I prefer to stay decentralised.

People have been talking about such things for many years. Until the cryptocurrency is not recognized worldwide, buying cryptocurrency with fiat money will not be easy.

Many big exchanges that provide fiat money to buy crypto, every exchange must have its advantages, and you can try in some exchanges which are simpler in your opinion.

When someone is doing trades regularly on an exchange want to withdraw their funds too often then they hate to see the high withdrawal fee and waiting time because the fee is actually very huge when compared to the blockchain network traffic so if there is an exchange give low fee then it will get more traders.

Many exchanges claim there security is top notch and when you leave funds on that exchange hacks happens, this is why I prefer p2p exchanges like swap ,no profile ,no accounts and many exchanges are implementing KYC this days yet that doesn't solve the issue of hacks ,its annoying

This is really good and genuine question. Whenever a user uses exchange, finds few flaws in it which makes him or her a bit uncomfortable for trading.
For me there are two things.
First is, exchange fee. Sometimes I feel that the exchange is for large investors or traders and not for small investors like me. In such situations, it becomes difficult to purchase or send  only few tokens from exchange.
Second important thing I feel is lack of availability of tokens on exchange. Not every exchange is supporting all altcoins. This in turns makes it difficult to manage different exchanges for different altcoins to trade.

I too feel the withdrawal fee and at times the time we have to wait to see the amount gets reflected in the respective wallet we sent to and nothing else. I do trade at Hitbtc.
I have not yet experienced even a site down or any issues causing me loose my trade. Just the withdrawal fee was i felt that it could be less than what they do charge usually.

most of the exchange don't give you access to your wallet private keys. If you want it then pass your coin to you own wallet.
what i hate about my current exchange is their support in unreachable.

It is only a dream for now "Easy buying crypto with fiat money with hassle free". No such things as far as I know, I never have bought crypto from my own money, I only got it from payments such as signatures and other bounties so I really can't tell you how. All I did was convert my crypto assets to cash, I did buy few ICO coins but not with my fiat money. If there are to change in current trading I want an ATM machine that could trade list of a thousands coins for fiat. I want to have that kind of machine in our city. I am using top ten exchanges and most of them are likely the same, high fees and takes more or less 30 minutes  to withdraw or deposit, so if ever possible I want the instant one.

Fees, that's the only issue I have at the moment, and as an active trader it makes things more difficult, I make use of an exchange that provides quality security service and other additional pecks, but I do a lot of trading and a lot of moving coins here and there, the fees are quite a hiccup sometimes

and in fact, of all the listed problems, which are very annoying to users, for me, the most important thing is tariffs. In any case, I always did not trust more than one exchange, Because there are always some nuances, Where I can either lose money, or some situation will appear, which will lead again to losses. Kys Khadya because of this, I never for a long time leave my coins in the wallets of trading platforms and exchangers.

nothing needs to be changed, everything is good. the exchange where I trade has provided options with Fiat, so that's good. what you need to add is a coin, there are lots of good cards but not yet available in the exchange.

I hate that poloniex doesn't offer more currency pairs. I understand they only pick up coins that have proven uses and a good backing, though.

I hate the fact that coinbase doesn't allow for instant sending after a wire transfer.

many shit coins that are still traded there. they should be active in delisting such coins. and maybe security must be increased. Exchange security is now very easy to crack.

using poloniex is not very safe. After this exchange was bought by an American company - there is no confidence in it.

Things that I hate the most about an exchange especially HitBTC is the withdrawal fees. If I compare the withdrawal fees with Bittrex, Mercatox, etc, HitBTC is the worst, the fees are very huge for me. I know I only need to choose a coin/token that have low withdrawal fees, but there is a case that i need to withdraw only with this X cin that have huge withdrawal fees.

Due to this reason, you can use decentralized exchanges and private key will be on your own use. If the reason is that the DEXs are more useless, I agree with you.
I do not think there is a big problem with exchanges. There are already hundreds of exchanges available and you can find one that suits your own criteria.

There's a reason why both centralized and decentralized exchanges exist. Both with different advantages. If you want more control over your private keys, you should choose Dex. I guess that is why Binance is introducing its Dex exchange to satisfy customers that may prefer Dex characteristics

Well if you really hate trading on centralized exchanges then i think you can trade on decentralized exchanges like idex, forkdelta etc. But what i hate about upcoming exchanges these days is the high fees that most of them charge when trading on their platform.

Actually, my issue with Decentralized exchanges borders mostly on their non flexibility and directness. I keep finding it difficult to accept them truly as exchanges. Albeit Etherflyer which seemingly has a well grounded interface and design, the rest are actually crappy. Really looking forward to what Binance brings to the table. It could change the view on Decentralized Exchanges forever.

I don't think exchange will move from these things and that's why everyone suggests you withdraw your funds from the exchange and never store your assets in any exchange! Centralized exchanges are not cold storage, so you should stop hating it and be alert to move your coins in your hardware wallet! And to buy coins with Fiat, you may use Coinbase or localbitcoin!

Actually what I really hate about some exchange it's when they kept asking me to verify my location or let say when they ask to verify ip that my previous ip address as been changed or something, that really give me big headache when I'm on other devices that my email is not log, I believe they should make it once, if I can verify my mobile is address once, they shouldn't be ask me to do it again anytime I wanna login

In time, for sure perfect timing would be the best thing since I can say that we still in development stage when it comes to adaption. Yes, they might hear us out but it is not that easy. These exchanges need to do something for their own improvement just like what youve said buying crypto with fiat. Verification is good for me as  I dont have anything to hide.

Actually it is one way to avoid your account being used by other people. Of course it is not wrong for an exchange to do that. I strongly agree with that, because it is one of the additional security that must be done. But not all exchanges do that. You should have an e-mail on your cellphone to get a link so you can enter the exchange.

Customer support is one of the major issues with all the crypto exchanges,we need to wait for days to get a response for your tickets.ON;y people who faced that situation knows how much pain they were experienced at the waiting time.

What I hate about some of my current exchange are the high trading fees, high withdrawal fee, and lack of proper UI. I can relate to ddex which is a decentralized exchange but with a very high trading fee which you will not find funny at all. Also most exchanges I use don't care what you pay as a withdrawal fee

Why sign up to these centralized exchanges in the first place? Before signing up, you are asked to agree to the terms. Somewhere in there says that they keep your private keys, so why agree? Stay with DEX if you're unhappy.

Also, I would for the process to be simplified and streamlined, I want to buy crypto with Fiat as easily as I buy stuff on Amazon.
There are already OTC exchanges like Coinbase.

For suggestions:
Add more customer support
Some exchanges do not have dark mode, I wish everyone would have that.

On all the exchange I'm trading there is no option to keep your private key on centralized exchange you can do this on the decentralized exchange, security is my main concern right now since I can easily trade my cryptocurrency to fiat money in our local exchanger.

So you don't need to store your coin in every exchange, and it's better to start to move all of your coin in the offline wallet. I don't hate the exchanges although I don't have access to the private keys and I know that consequences and as long as I know what I'm doing, I can accept that.

The only thing that I hate from the exchanges is when they apply a high fee for withdraw because I've already seen that before and I moved all my coins to the other exchange.

When you engage in the exchange, you need to realize this, and you need to protect our account from anything bad things that might happen. I am sure you can buy crypto with Fiat as easily, but you need to search which services in out there that might fit you.

Actually these stuff you want to alter isnt that simple. First of all not all exchange can follow on some rules of the country regarding the legalities of the funds circulating on the exchange. Havent you noticed KYC is now crucial for more exchange as withdrawing huge funds is now forbidden due to some recent transfer of scam tokens and coins. Decentralized is like by those scammer so they will do anything and everything to retain this aspect.

the only thing that i have ever hated about the exchanges have been the fact that i can never be sure whether my money is safe or not. i know for a fact that as long as i am using the exchanges (any of them without exception) even for a minute my money is at serious risk.
the exchange can get hacked, i lose money.
the exchange can scam, i lose money.
the exchange can decide to single me out and scam me, i lose money.

and complaining is never going to change that. the solution is simple: not using centralized exchanges and moving to decentralized ones.

KYC verification that I hate, we are connected to a private network where the advantages of cryptocurrencies are anonymous. almost all exchanges have to get everyone's personal biodata document, I'm afraid it will be misused if there is a data leak by the evil hackers well even though it's for our own security but still it deviates from the very special cryptocurrencies

If you are a traders you will hate a exchange when you know that the transaction fee is very high and also if you experience a delays with the tokens you deposit or withdraw,so if you experience with it you will complain to the support and tell them to improve their services if nothing will change find another exchange that is very trusted and low transaction fee.

I use exchanges without registration, for example, ChangeNOW lately. I do not keep my funds there, but I just make quick swaps, so I don’t risk it. I used Bittrex before, and they blocked my verified account without explaining the reason. For this reason, I started using services without registration.

I believe this concern/topic is in the wrong section, you can move this thread right here anyway : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0)
Discussions about exchanges will be tackled in that section.
And to be on topic, heres the list about the things I hate using the service of my choosen exchange ;
1. High transaction fees.
2. Coin maintenance took to long to finish.
3. No response from the team after 24hrs after sending them my concern.
4. Deposit/Withdrawal troubles ( although its not frequent, but sometimes it'll drain out my patience specially during rush transactions.)

If you complain about higher transaction fees, there are some which doesn't ask more.

There is not much to complain about exchanges after all if you don't like the current one, you can move on to another exchange. The only thing you might complain to is a coin without much volume in an exchange where its listed. Its going to be the fault of the team or to the community of the project.

I am more and more not beginning to like the fact that many exchanges are beginning to introduce prohibitions for the registration of citizens of certain countries that have been imposed US sanctions. This eliminates all the advantages of cryptocurrency. Why make them decentralized, so that later they prohibit those or other people who are not guilty of trading on the stock exchanges?

What I hate most is the delay in making deposits, and sometimes blockchain has correctly confirmed the transaction! To Yobit for example, I remember it was too slow to load the trading page. This is definitely not cool! C-Cex was very problematic with emails! Some other problems are in the authenticator. Well, I could spend hours here listing things that annoys me in exchanges. :D

If you want exchange which can access private key you can try decentalized exchange like forkdelta for ethereum, waves decentralized exchange, stellarport for stellar, but if you want to looking for exchanges that have many types of coins which you can control your privete key, i think, nothing. I think it would be better to reduce the percentage for withdrawals on some exchanges. I also agree with you that it would be good to make a more convenient opportunity to change crypto into Fiat and back.

Hacks on the centralized exchanges which can be the most hated thing by everyone and in history big exchanges even got hacked so it can happen with same too so we need to use decentralized exchanges more while doing trades.

It is all about your own personal preferences. But sometimes, dex doesn't offer the trading of your coin so you need to look for other exchanges that can offer such services. There are pros and cons of these centralized and decentralized exchanges. One thing I always do, is send my bitcoin or coins to my own wallet after the trading. And the tokens to my MEW.

Right now what I hate is the fact that I don't have access to the private keys of my funds, I don't feel secure because of that.
They are centralized exchanges so what can you expect from them? they can't let your funds private keys because they hold it for their own purpose. If you want to hold your keys, use an exchange that allows you to do like DEX's.

So, what would you change? what would you remove? and what would you add?
Majority wants these exchanges to remove the KYC requirement that they implement. But they can't do something about that because they have to follow the regulations that has been set for their company.

Those exchanges sites that you have already mentioned are terrible exchange site and im not feeling any surprised about that dude. yobit and ccex are very well known as the worst exchange site in this year or this era. I will choose to avoid both of these exchange sites

If you do hate not to posses your private keys then better use DEX yet most centralized exchangers wont really give you that kind of
access when it comes to your keys thats why its really risky to put up your funds their for long time yet we wont know on when a
certain exchange would experience problem.

About purchasing crypto by fiat then expect you would always need to comply with KYC thing since you are dealing with banks.

If theres one thing i would like to remove is that KYC thing, they should really make it optional or not strictly imposed and also with lesser fees.

You said it right, those exchange site who lack of support and always got a delayed and maintenance should be avoided, we have a lots of options
now and each time we plan selling our assets or engaging into a a trade we should find decent exchangers which we wont be having any trouble
since it's a money matters so we have to make sure that we are protecting our investment.

Unreasonably high fees, unexpected delays with deposits and withdrawals and poor customer service are just some of the main issues faced with centralized exchanges not to mention the threat of hacks and exit-scams so you're always taking a risk using any cryptocurrency exchange just focus on the most reputable ones that offer their customers a high level of security and reliability and never leave any funds on them that you aren't actively using

I have very little complaints about my choices of exchange. The only cons I find about them is the number of tokens listed and withdrawal fees.
Good exchanges are selective on listing tokens which misses the interest of traders to grab a promising coin at good price. And the withdrawal fees makes it difficult to make inter exchange trading possible.

Low volume. I mean I use binance for my intercurrency exchanges and binance has super high volume and I love it because of that. However my current exchange for fiat to btc or btc to fiat has almost zero volume at all. I can sell about 10 bitcoins today and I will be half of their whole volume, they have like 20-30 bitcoins a day on average.

It is all I need considering its just an exchange I use for personal fiat changes and I do not do that constantly so I do not need high volumes but the fact that they have such a low volume makes me considering moving to another one since this one can't be making too much money and they could be looking to close shop since they are not making too much money.

Maybe daily 30 bitcoin is enough for them but maybe its not I don't know so I am not sure if I should move to one that has higher volume or not. Its a very old one and one of the earliest fiat to btc in my country but its still horrible low so I am still on the fence about changing.

You might actually like a particular exchange for one thing, which will make it difficult for you to switch to another, and at the same time hate something about that choice of exchange that you wish you could have influence over and change, but since one voice does not matter in doing so, people’s opinion on a thread like this might point their attention to it and make them change it which will make it perfect.

If we keep dumping all exchange we are not pleased with for another, how then have we added any value to them other than using them as an exchange?

From my current exchange what I hate the most, is that now the stable currencies are being manipulated, they will not have a match to FIAT money, if I want to pass my balance to FIAT the currency that I thought it was and kept it protected, Now it has a series of terms that can be backed under another currency.
And also the fact of not being able to place Stop Loss or Take Profit in the same trading order at the same time.

As well as not being able to do trade to the downside, because there is no option, then I am already thinking that the only Exchange that if it has all the options I want, to enter, they require me to have at least $ 10k or the equivalent in cryptocurrencies.

This represents a problem when making my investments, because there are certain altcoins that I have hold, and they are only in that Exchange that is Level 1, but from a time ago to the current one it has been very questioned.

Indeed, I hate the way hackers can manipulate a centralized exchange to the fact that it is more secure than a decentralized exchange. If I could make an exchanges I will be implementing the most secured one so that people that using it will not be in risk. Double the security or even triple it.
If all of exchanges will do these, the economic stability of the cryptocurrency will rise and many businesses will ride in. Furthermore, I also like decentralized exchanges because you can control your own private key unlike in centralized, but the mere fact is you need to be careful hiding your private key to avoid phishing or fraud.

Difficulties arose with Binance, I proved everything, but they wrote to me that I have a different IP address and in order to qualify I have to do a number of such actions that even a patient person could not afford, I had to say goodbye to my account and funds. I like the fact that the exchanges care about our security, but I would like to simplify the process and not check the user for patience with unrealistic requests. Also agrees with you that the simplicity in the conclusion and when buying a fiat would not hurt.

I definitely agree with you buddy. All of your concerns regarding the crypto exchanges present nowadays still have flaws within that still make people to demand and find more and more exchanges which will satisfies their own contentment. But truly, your first reason why you hate your current exchange is about the fee. Well for me, I have the feeling of that. The exchange fee is too high that only few people can afford. So how about other crypto user that only have few with them that is also wanted to use that exchange? Isn't it a bit frustrating. And another thing that you mentioned is about the availability of all the altcoins in the exchanges. This happens to me honestly. It is really hard to handle so many exchnges just because of this matter. Of course if you have many exchanges, it is very unconvenient as you need to manage different exchanges in different altcoins you have.

Nothing, aside from adding random dodgy sketchy coin
Basically i use almost all the realiable one like IDEX, binance, Bitfinex and so

However the most thing i hate is adding those dodgy coin. (Anyhow, as an exchange there are suppose to list any coins tbh imo. This is because as an exchange you are serve as a medium and as a platform to allow people to trade, but not filter the good coins for people.)
But, i like how exchange filter coins before adding them because this shows that they wanted to have a good long run on their business

Today for me the most important stock exchange is Binance. There are very low commissions on trades and high volumes of trades.

There are certain exchanges like coinbase where they always add a zero at the end and this way in the hurry to sell bitcoins you sell them at a low price.

It doesn't even matter which one I use, but my transactions are stuck so often that I sometimes freak out. That has to stop. It has to work smoothly.

We own our private keys only on decentralized exchanges this is why I prefer them even if they are not user friendly.
On centralized ones if they are hacked we can lose our funds, this is what I hate the most.
Another thing I hate are the withdrawal limits. I keep my funds on exchanges only when trading.

It is unfortunate, it is a very hasty decision if she should sell her bitcoin with low prices. though I'm sure investment bitcoin will not lose, as long as we remain attentive to the market.

There are two thing I don't like with my exchanges.
One, the huge fee to trade coins. I don't know why exchanges charge huge fee to trade coins. Sometimes I see fees is more than what we want to buy or sell. it's very difficult in this situation and really have to think if it's really worth buying or selling?
By reducing the fees, exchanges can attract more users and thus their revenue.
Second thing I don't like is to have enough pairs to trade or even availability of few coins which someone wants to buy or sell.
Also security is also one of the concerns which is very much important at this moment.

The exchange I have to change is to improve security. So customers are not afraid to invest in Exchange. And accelerate disbursement of funds to enter the customer account. So that everything changes so that customers are more comfortable and faster in making transactions.

What do you mean current exchange? Is it something that you handle personally? like the entire website and exchange is fully controlled by you? I guess this question is suited for limited persons only. Not applicable to those who are using exchange.

Every exchange has advantages and disadvantages

Just like on my local exchange, there is something I hate on my local exchange (Indodax (https://indodax.com/)) like they don't provide us Stop-loss features for all coins (It just on some several most popular coins only). Also, their withdraw fee (both for fiat and coins) is quite expensive.

There is this exchange I am using that the transaction fee cost a fortune and of course,  that transaction fee could have been an additional profit to me. Now, I am using an exchange call cat.ex with like 0 transaction fee because the transaction fee that you use will be turned into the platform's token with its real time value.

Oh yes the withdrawal fee was unacceptable at some exchanges. Cryptopia took $25 for Bitcoin withdrawals at some point. I hope that was the most expensive one.

Well, in this regard, if your exchange fails to join the trend by reducing their trading fee, I will advise you go on other exchange that can offer you these feature you are looking for, it is because of this exorbitant trading fee that many people believe that Binance trader makes more money than other traders which is quite true, because of their very low trading fee.

High fee charged can really be killing sometimes, especially when you intend trading with a low money and then you realize that he fee charged would have even taking almost half of it away and you have to struggle to meet up with the amount charged before you can start talking about profit, so mate, try Binance.

Fee is my main issue regarding this matter. Truly there are other issues to tell, but I really do hate to have a high fees in having an exchange. Being someone like me that only have not too much in wallet, it is very hard for me to have high fees. I know that others know and understand that way. If only I have to send few tokens, I have to pay such high fees which is very unreasonable to a small exchnagers like me. And not only that because it would be so hard to purchased only few tokens having the fee so high. And it is really annoying for me. But still, I do appreciates all the true and proud exchanges we all been using.

The main concern regarding an exchange remains the security.

I will never feel the same when I open my Exchange account compared to when I open my Ledger Nano S one. If I don't access the exchanges for more than 1-2 weeks, I always have a weird feeling when I'm reconnecting 😊 This never happens with a hardware wallet.

Most people hate at most exchanges, too much trading fees. We are many early-stage investors, so it's quite difficult to trade big amounts of money so we do not feel those taxes. I also hate that many potentially good projects are not listed on the best-known exchanges so I can trust my investments. I also think all exchanges should take more care of investor security.

Well, too many exchanges in my opinion now exist. And there is too complicated tax assessment. I sometimes get only $ 20 why should I give $ 5 to the exchange .... I often come across this situation, as it were.

I also would not mind to add to all exchanges Fiat currency. In order for us to effortlessly change crypto to Fiat and back. It would be very convenient and would not need to spend money on the comission.

In my own case, I uses the two types of exchanges; that is, centralized and decentralized. In terms of centralized exchange, lack of control of assets and unfriendly withdrawal fees is what I hate most. Then in decentralized exchange, lack of user friendliness is what I hate also.

The volume on some exchanges are just too low and that itself is a factor that can get one outrightly discouraged. Traders cannot use such exchange satisfactorily.
Then the use of bots by exchanges should be prohibited.

My worst exchanges is token.store and ForkDelta. They don't work very well with mobile devices. Maybe the owners need to further optimise them for all devices.

More and more exchanges, but the factor of security is not a concern for the teams and makes a lot of hacking cases happen so investors become wary of their current assets that suffer losses.

Having access to your private keys crypto assets stored on an exchange would be nice ( for centralized exchanges), I guess it would mean you will have to process your withdrawal by yourself. Some wallets already kind of have this feature, they offer a standard wallet with options to swap tokens with exchanges. The fee is usually higher.

Maybe my worst problem right now is that I need to have an account in a lot of exchanges to be able to trade the different altcoins I have, because until now I have not found an exchange with enough versatility to work with most of the cryptocurrencies that exist so far. That is, in my personal case I have to do a strenuous daily work to visit almost twenty exchanges to make trading decisions, which makes my job as a trader quite impractical.

Its not that I hate, but feel to have a change in what is done especially on the transaction fees and nothing else i feel need to be changed. I understand the business they do and there is a logic behind charging such a huge / decent fees for every transactions goes in and out (depends upon the exchanges). I just feel the fees are bit higher. What will a trader who trades with a small capital can bear? So it can be considered.
