Title: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: Jet Cash on March 13, 2019, 06:38:04 PM I'm getting a bit discouraged. Every now and again I try to start a topic for discussion, but often they don't seem to attract much of a response. So if we leave out the primary topics of Bitcoin technicals and help, and board maintenance such as ban appeals, what would you like to see discussed in the Bitcoin Talk forum that doesn't appear regularly? We can skip the underworld topics like bounty and ICOs as well.
Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: qwertyup23 on March 13, 2019, 07:11:31 PM Unfortunately, most of the interesting topics are overshadowed by the sheer volume of posts required by most campaign signatures. The attention is mostly focused on completing this quota and topics that are actually interesting are ignored.
I find topics interesting under off-topics and the serious discussion as everyone seem to reply with thought and maturity. Post by: The Sceptical Chymist on March 13, 2019, 09:28:33 PM Lately I've been thinking about ways to spend any bitcoin that I get my hands on, and I'd really like to see an updated (and maintained) list of online merchants that accept bitcoin as payment. Yes, I've done google searches on this, but some of the lists aren't kept up and merchants on them sometimes no longer take bitcoin. In particular, I'd like to know of sites that sell a wide variety of goods like Amazon, but I'd be interested in pretty much anything. I haven't seen such a list in quite a while on bitcointalk, and it seems like it'd be important to have such a thing and to have some sort of discussion around it.
I'd also like to know about some of the more well-known members personally, but I don't suspect that many of them are willing to share any details. Sometimes I feel like most of the people here are just bots with no personality whatsoever. Most shitposts are written so generically that they don't say anything about the person who's writing them--and with the vast majority of posts here being shitposts, I am getting very tired of empty platitudes and statements that say nothing. I was very happy to learn a little about Jet Cash and that some members I'm familiar with actually live within a day's drive from me. That's the stuff I'm interested in. If you sign up for a bitcoin backed debit card (I know it's really rare to find a really working one, there were topics, updated regurarly in the past, about these cards), you can buy things from every merchant using your bitcoins. But I know that you have to complete KYC and AML checks to be able to get a working bictoin debit card, so it won't be a good solution for everyone who wants to spend bitcoins here.... In a few years time we'll see who will accept bitcoin and who will use different coins for instant payments... Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? I’d like a list of community projects. I’d love to offer my help or support to projects that interact with the blockchain, but all I ever seem to find is people selling goods with a Bitcoin logo on them for their own profit. I’m sure there are people working on cool stuff that exists on the blockchain, for reasons other than enriching themselves, but I only know of one. Basically this board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0) but only focused on anything that isn't or can not be implemented in bitcoin. In fact for some time now, I have been wishing we had such a board as a subcategory of the board I linked.

Post by: cabalism13 on March 14, 2019, 06:06:59 AM I am more interested on knowing some users that is currently students like me, and using bitcoin and ethereun for trades. Also expecting for some gamers and anime lovers to be in here,...
And you can add the mining discussion where students wants to participate in just a small amount of invesments. (Student Community For Bitcointalk :) - Well its kinda more likely a Beginners & Help though. Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? How bitcoin has affected their life's, I know we have many senior citizens among us I'll love to tap from their knowledge and experience on how life should be handled. Take some break from discussing bitcoin price and when moon or lambo and just discuss general stuffs that affects our everyday life.
Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: Heisenberg_Hunter on March 14, 2019, 07:28:45 AM I have little to absolutely no knowledge on how mining works, what are the ASIC's used currently, by what technology they are being developed etc. Also I am not interested to have a step in the Mining Board with less knowledge to what is happening and to understand something new (Mining board is strictly moderated is another fact). Hence I would like to have a Mining Discussion board for beginners like me and along with that I do have a interest in Alts. Their technology inspires me to read more on them, but I dont see any good discussion taking place in Altcoin Discussion. Hence I would like to see a general Mining Discussion board and a Alt Technical Discussion board.
Though I have never visited the off-topic board recently, but they tend to consist of some interesting and hilarious topics to discuss. But sadly most of them are getting derailed from the Op with lots and lots of spams. Hence an alternative would be to create something like Serious Discussion board for discussing very usual general topics. We also need to note that, anything which doesn't fit in the Btc discussion are getting moved to the Off-Topic board, thats primarily the reason people are not interested in creating and discussing such topics. I also like to have a Telegram group filled with non-spammers of this forum which will also help us in getting connected more often. :) Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: mu_enrico on March 14, 2019, 10:43:43 AM I would like to see more topics about Lightning Network and people's testimony of using that in shops, microtransactions, etc., not about the technical stuff like this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4792622.0).
Currently, this information is spreading across the internet and very difficult to track. PS. if there are existing threads about this, please inform me. Thanks! It's about time that we actually try to help the little guys trying to integrate bitcoin and crypto in their businesses and are trying to help the adoption of crypto in general. We are often busy focusing on large retail chains and services accepting crypto on their payment methods that we forget the little guys striving to get the word out to other people.
Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: eternalgloom on March 14, 2019, 11:21:50 AM If you want to participate on Bitcointalk in hard-mode, try to post a serious topic in Altcoin Discussion and see how many responses you get there.
Almost guaranteed that your topic is just buried, if you're lucky you might get one or two responses. The only topics that work there are those that have clickbait titles and talk about some sort of price speculation related topic or bounty hunting. what would you like to see discussed in the Bitcoin Talk forum that doesn't appear regularly? We can skip the underworld topics like bounty and ICOs as well. The topics I always find most interesting are those that talk about innovative new projects made by the members of this forum. Could be anything really, someone making an interesting cryptocurrency-related art project or someone who's developing an interesting application. They do appear sometimes, especially in Project Development, but even there you usually find stuff that's already been done before. Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: Jet Cash on March 15, 2019, 08:15:07 AM I would love to read about users life experience You can learn a lot from me, especially about the things you shouldn't do. For example. if you are going to have a long term relationship, don't choose a girl in San Francisco when you are living in London. One of the great inventors stated that creating successful innovations is 5% inspiration, and 95% perspiration. I have tried to reverse this, but without a great deal of success. I've also tried to split myself between HODLing and trading, and have ended up spending more time talking about it than making money. On a more serious note - if you are going to use any crypto-currencies, I believe it is important to understand the basics of Bitcoin and its blockchain, and this forum is probably the best place for any newcomer to gain a basic understanding. Once you have an idea of the future potential of the banking revolution it spawned, then you can decide on alternatives/additions. One thing I would like to see is a training Blockchain for Bitcoin Talk members. It could let newbies run a variety of nodes without the overhead of downloading the full blockchain. I'd support this if somebody wants to start it, but I'm having to cut back on projects that I'm ( trying ) to run at the moment. I'm aware of the Testnet, but I believe a BT members' one would attract more interest, and could be of benefit to the forum and its members. Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: Pmalek on March 15, 2019, 08:26:35 AM I would like to see a brand new Bitcoin Discussion board with genuine discussions and not a spam fest. Though I'm not pushing you to do it but I think its just a good thing. :P I'm also interested on your story mate... I think we can spend a time on Mcdonalds in the future :D Just stay healthy so it can be possible, a two more years I'll be graduating from college. Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: poptok1 on March 15, 2019, 09:06:28 AM I would like to see some more science related topics.
Regardless it will be computer science, biology, psychology, physics I need more of it :) We have no science related boards, so I guess off-topic is the place to go, maybe serious discussion as well. I'm more than sure there are a lot of scientific minds among us, some cool math or chemistry lessons could get posted for us to read. Someone can even benefit from such threads, as getting few more perspectives in teaching, is rare and those lessons don't grow on trees. Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: darklus123 on March 15, 2019, 09:29:00 AM Primarily this are the topics that are gaining my interest.
1. Blockchain processing Issue. ( How to solve it, how to get through with it or how are we going to handle long processing time for real time business transaction). 2. Real-Life Business Applications - This has been very important topic to talk about, if we want bitcoin to not depends on FIAT. one solution is to established business that fully accepts this coins. 3. Bitcoin or Blockchain's or Your future - Is it really worth it? I don't know if those certain thoughts are interesting to others but I guess that as a community discussing the problem -> processes -> solutions -> future are the key to have a better communication. Something like War Accusation, including merit, trust, and so on. war is shit.. seriously it can be entertaining, but bottom line is this is a fucking forum. My closest pal I met on here died this year, we transacted 100+BTC, talked on the phone, met up - got smashed.. Enjoyed each others company and him passing taught me something big, Life matters - what some fat long haired fuck on the other side of the world thinks about me means nothing, like seriously nada - it means less to me than the shavings of dry skin off my toes. Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: theyoungmillionaire on March 15, 2019, 02:14:15 PM For me, I want to see a list of biggest wars in the forum. It is already a common/regular topic; like TMAN said: war is shit. We are on the forum, wherein some people are just here to relax by just reading stuff and learn from it. We already had enough reading about what you called war, you can just read CH’s wall topic and you got what you want. IIRC, @xtraelv made such topics. Such as wars between DT members and red-trusters, as well as war between admin and forum users due to sudden changes in forum rules. Something like War Accusation, including merit, trust, and so on. Sometimes you find friends by joining a forum, conflict can be triggered due to some different opinion or behavior, but, that doesn’t mean you’re in a war, you’re just stating what you think is right in your opinion, people should respect that. At the end of the day, people don’t really care what other people say as long as you know you have stated your opinion. I remember before (7 years ago), we have this forum member complaining about a certain rule, I am the one online and answered him, which resulted to long conversations or war topics and got some PMed conversations (exchanges some personal views and of course trash talking). But, as days gone by, we just laughed about it and we even became friends. Reading war conversations are regular nowadays. We already have enough war here in our country. My closest pal I met on here died this year, we transacted 100+BTC, talked on the phone, met up - got smashed.. Enjoyed each others company and him passing taught me something big, Life matters… Sorry to hear about your loss, TMAN. I am sure he is in a better place now.Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: Jet Cash on March 15, 2019, 03:23:51 PM I hope that I can start a few threads about using Bitcoin on the move, and include some stuff about solar power. It costs me a lot of money to use McDonalds "free" WiFi, and often I have to tether through my 'phone, as the kids are clogging it by sending stupid pictures to each other, and watching pop videos.
I think I'll try to start a Bitcoin Talk test blockchain project. I think it is important that people around the world are able to communicate, and to trade with each other outside the constraints of increasingly authoritarian governments. Lets make our own trade agreements. Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: r1s2g3 on March 15, 2019, 05:03:53 PM I am really interested in knowing/debating about satoshi vision on number of transaction btc can handle.
When satoshi says in next 20 year we have "large number of transaction" or "no transaction" what exactly satoshi was thinking ? How 7 to 8 tps can sustain large number of transaction that satoshi was pointing to, when satoshi made that statement what exactly he was thinking or knowing ? (LN was nowhere in picture when satoshi made those statements) Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Though its not that important but the ladies is kinda missing you :) ... Anyways my greatest condolences for you and to the family of your pal. (might wanna know whose that user?--- or not ??? ) It costs me a lot of money to use McDonalds "free" WiFi, Why is that? Does everytime you visit that place, it has a requirement that you must avail their happy meals before using their wifi? :D kids will be kids, they might be stupid and irritating sometimes but there's nothing we can do about that, in fact we are also like that when we're once kids like them :) Title: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Does everytime you visit that place, it has a requirement that you must avail their happy meals before using their wifi? :D You know what? The best thing about McDonald's Security Guard and Service Crew is that even if you just went inside to use their toilet/CR, they happily say "Thank you, Sir! Come back again!" when you go out. That's like urinating or pooping like a boss, you won't get that kind of service on any public toilet/CR. :DTitle: Re: What topics do you want to see here, and where should they be posted? Post by: Jet Cash on March 15, 2019, 05:52:07 PM I was relying to TMAN's comment that I was stealing WiFi. I've spent a few thousand pounds in McDonalds, mainly on coffee and breakfast, and I suspect they are not making a loss over me. Half a dozen kids can come in and buy one milkshake between the lot of them, and spens a couple of hours sending stupid images to each othe on their phones. It can lock up the WiFi. I appreciate that it is a service that McD offers, so my comment was more of an observation than a complaint.

Post by: YOSHIE on March 16, 2019, 02:52:47 PM I think this is one thing that is interesting for everyone, of course, In this case there is a separate reason for bitcointalk members, you can say "retire" blog, the Bitcointalk Forum.
Run out of topics? Yes, for me When I look at the main topic, of course what I see, the funniest topic, Not all members are the same and not all topics are destined to be popular, even though you have already done so, So, before the BitCointalk forum, retired, with the above reasons, the point is, learn how to get a topic that can guarantee that it is very profitable for you. |
